Chapter 11: A New Spell
Some time has passed since the incident over at Hogsmeade regarding a masked man making his second appearance. Rumors circulated as it has been the talk of the school lately…again. "Have you heard about the masked man? People were saying that the guy was hunting down someone as he was running on rooftops?" someone said. "I heard he beat up a bunch of guys in an alley, and they all were criminals, so in a way he was fighting bad guys," another person said. The group was walking to their class as they kept hearing people talking about the masked man. "Honestly this guy has been doing a lot of good things lately. I mean I heard that those guys were a bunch of common crooks and thieves that have notorious records, so the way I see it he's a hero," Ron stated. "Hero or not, what the man is doing is dangerous, who knows how many people he might've gotten hurt. Plus it is the law's job to be the one taking care of these people," Hermione said seriously. Naruto was feeling guilty as he couldn't tell them the truth yet, even though he wanted to tell them everything. "I don't know Hermione, I mean the guy did help Naruto out and seems to be on our side, at least since the man isn't affiliated with the ministry," Harry said. "What about you Naruto, what do you think?" they asked. Naruto looks at them and thinks, "Honestly, despite the guy being the one to save me, I have to agree with Hermione here, as this guy could put himself and everyone he cares for in danger, if he was unmasked." Soon they arrived at their class, which was Defense Against the Dark Arts class, the one they loathe as of now.

Naruto has been going through some of his family journals looking for something that can help him out with what he is about to do currently. Hermione was just coming down from her dorm, when she noticed her boyfriend looking at a bunch of journals. "Hey Naruto, what are you doing?" she asked, as she sat next to him. "Oh hey, I'm just looking through some of the journals cause I just got an idea from a dream of mine," Naruto stated. "Well what is it?" Hermione said, wanting to know. "Ok so I had this dream, there was this guy, dressed in black and had black hair. He was walking down a bunch of stairs facing a small army of soldiers that were firing bullets at him, but the guy was protected by some crystal-like weapons that were surrounding him. He soon summoned an arsenal of weapons, and used the arsenal to target some of the soldiers and in a way he used some of the summoned weapons. What I'm trying to say is that from my dream, I'm inspired to create a new spell, based on that idea of the dream," Naruto explained.
This intrigued Hermione, but also worried her. "Are you sure you want to do this Naruto? Spell creation is rather complicated, if not dangerous as there could be fatal complications." Naruto nods, "I know, but I have faith it will work," he said with confidence. Hermione sighed, "Well at least tell Dumbledore about this before you do anything you might regret." So Naruto decided to go to Dumbledore's office for some help regarding his plan. "Hello Naruto, what brings you to my office," Dumbledore asked the boy. "Professor, I was wondering if it was possible to create a new spell?" Naruto asked. This question intrigued Dumbledore, "Oh really, tell me what is the reason why you want to create a new spell?" he asked. Naruto explains to Dumbledore about his dream and how it inspired him to come up with the idea of creating a new spell. "The purpose of the spell is meant as a way to protect me and my friends, while at the same time be used as an attack spell in case of any threats," Naruto stated. Dumbledore thinks for a moment, "Spell creation is as complicated as well as deadly if not taught properly. But I figure I might as well mentor you on the process." This surprised Naruto, "Wait really? You can mentor me on this process?" Dumbledore nodded, "Every Friday night, you are to meet me here so that we can practice the process. Don't tell anyone except your group of friends, in order to not arouse suspicion."
Naruto nodded, "Understood professor, I'll see you on Friday night." Naruto soon leaves and heads back to the Gryffindor common room. He enters the room to see his friends waiting for him. "How did the conversation go?" Hermione asked. Naruto looks around, "Let's talk somewhere privately," he stated. "Come on, we can go to my room," Ron said, and the four went to Ron's room, which was the prefect room. "Nice room you got here," Naruto said looking a little bit jealous here. "Thanks, sorry if it looks messy here," Ron stated. "Anyways what was the conversation between you and Dumbledore?" Harry asked. Naruto explains about how Dumbledore was going to personally mentor him on spell creation every Friday night. The others were surprised, "That's pretty impressive Naruto. You're getting personal training with the headmaster," Hermione stated. Naruto nods, "I know, but guys don't tell anyone got it?" They all nodded and soon went to do whatever they had to do.
Every Friday night of the school term, Naruto has been going to Dumbledore's office to train the boy in spell creation. On the first training session, Dumbledore taught the boy the basics, as Naruto took notes on it. At first it took some time as the spell making process was a lot more complicated than expected. Plus after every D.A. session, Naruto spent time cooped up in the Room of Requirements trying to master the spell making process, along with the Fox Fire technique. Now things weren't going so well as it was all trial and error every time, but one day things changed. As Naruto was expecting that the new spell he was trying to make wasn't going to work, somehow it actually worked well. "What the…" Naruto said, as he saw a crystal blue like sword floating in the air after it was just conjured. The crystal blade vanished away after a few seconds. "Did you see that, Professor Dumbledore?" Naruto asked. Dumbledore nodded, "I did, and it looks like the process is going well, keep mastering it and the spell will be fully realized."
After the first blade was conjured, Naruto went on to enhance the spell even further by trying to conjure more blades he could even imagine. He also went to practice this spell by honing its capability when it comes to targeting any enemies, to the point where it was like the blades spin around like a vortex on Naruto's command using his wand of course. Eventually the time has come when he is about to show his friends the spell that he created. "Alright Naruto, are you going to show us this new spell of yours?" Harry asked. Naruto nods, "Yup and trust me guys, you are going to be impressed by the capabilities of the spell." Luckily none of the other D.A. members were there as it was only Harry, Hermione, and Ron there witnessing what Naruto was going to show. Naruto demonstrates the new spell, "Armiger!" he yells, as nine crystal blades ranging from swords to polearms, surround the boy as it spins around him. The others were shocked by what they saw. "Bloody hell mate, that is amazing," Ron stated, as he and the others were pretty impressed. "Oh that's nothing to what I'm going to show you. Here, one of you guys fire an offensive spell at me," Naruto ordered. Harry did just that, "Expelliarmus!" he shouted and the spell was about to hit Naruto, but the crystal swords that were surrounding him protected him, as it got into battle position. "Now one final thing that will really amaze you about this spell," Naruto said as he went to a training dummy. Using the armiger spell, he launched the crystal swords at the dummy as the blades attacked the dummy, before Naruto using his wand, made a swift move making one of the crystal slash at the dummy. "Ok now that is really impressive!" Harry said, as the others agreed. "Wait, what did you call the spell?" Hermione asked. "The spell is called armiger, right now this is the base version of the spell as I'm working to create stronger versions of the spell," Naruto stated.
"So does that mean you are going to teach the D.A. this spell?" Harry asked. Naruto shook his head, "Sadly I can not, as this spell is as powerful as it is deadly. Until I could perfect it to its full potential, teaching it is off limits. Don't worry, when it is fully mastered, I'll teach it to you guys, promise." Harry and the others were disappointed, but were understanding of what Naruto said as he was just looking out for their safety. Soon they all went back to the dorm to get some shut eye.
Note: Hey guys, I just wanted to say something about this chapter. Given how Naruto would want to be a little bit more versatile when it comes to magic, I figured ok why not have Naruto create his own spell through some training with Dumbledore. So the spell Naruto created was based off of a move Noctis used in Final Fantasy XV called armiger. I figured why not make that into a Harry Potter spell so I decided to incorporate that move as a spell Naruto creates. Eventually Naruto will teach his friends that spell, but it won't be as powerful as his is in future volumes. Also Naruto might create new spells in future volumes as well, since this is technically his first time creating a new spell.
