Hanako recognized an opportunity when she saw one, and that opportunity was Naruto, Hinata, and even Haku being out on a mission. The former nukenin crept out of the house with all the stealth she could manage, "Hanako-chan please don't go anywhere without an escort, I'm almost done helping Isaribi-chan chop vegetables for dinner." Karin called out suddenly from the kitchen, out of line of sight and to the alarm of the sneaking woman.

"How in the fuck did you hear me!?" Hanako snapped, a slight twitch to her eye.

"I can sense chakra." Karin retorted, the two were speaking without even being able to see each other.

Hanako sighed, she'd been unaware of that detail, "This house is full of fucking freaks." she grumbled quietly to herself.

"I resemble that remark!" Tayuya called out from a different room from both of them.

Hanako's eye twitch intensified, "How did she even hear that?" she mumbled.

"Heightened senses, bitch!" Tayuya retorted loudly.

"Tayuya! Stop shouting across the house!" Karin scolded, Hanako wondered if the Uzumaki noticed the irony of that demand but decided not to comment. The woman kept her words to herself on her way trudging back to her room, but she was convinced Konoha was full of weird people even by shinobi standards.

"Want a smoke?" Kin offered as Hanako walked past the lounging area, "It's pretty good stuff." she added vaguely, but the woman had no interest in the drug. The former nukenin didn't want to lose more control over herself than she already had, no matter how happy it seemed to make the residents of the household.

Naruto was bored, patrol missions were becoming routine and nothing really challenged him lately. It was nice to spend time with Hinata, Haku, and Shizune, but while on mission he couldn't train, or indulge in his various vices. It was better than gate guard duty, which Naruto had become the first genin to be given such a duty. Naturally he had assumed being the only rank lower than chunin to be given a duty would be an honor, but guard duty was incredibly boring. Plus he usually was placed there with Izumo and Kotetsu, who had been the ones to let the Gai imposter through.

The most excitement Naruto got lately was when training, particularly with Lee due to the way he handicapped himself down to the older genin's taijutsu only restriction. However, the blonde wanted to try going all out for once, but Lee was against such an idea outside of a real fight and he and Sasuke weren't allowed to go all out against each other. It didn't help that Naruto didn't really want to go all out against any members of his harem, although Haku's Makyo Hyosho was exciting purely because even Naruto was incapable of dodging everything despite the Tatakainouta and his speed.

The worst part about being bored, to Naruto at least, was that his mind kept wandering. The horned young genin couldn't stop wondering about what it meant to be the perfect shinobi, as when he'd first decided on the dream it had seemed so simple but now he knew that was merely his own lack of knowledge about what it would mean. At first it had seemed simple because he'd believed he'd simply have to be stronger than the Hokage that came before him, now he knew there was far more to being a shinobi than strength of ninjutsu alone.

Ninja were not so easily categorized, there were puppeteers, genjutsu specialists, taijutsu specialists, kenjutsu specialists, there were almost as many ninpo as there were people in Konoha. They were supposed to be masters of espionage, stealth, information gathering, impersonation, assassination, and all manner of noncombat specialties. There were iryonin, shinobi who specialized in healing, and even demolition and sabotage specialists.

Naruto was starting to feel overwhelmed, as not only would his true dream require mastering all of those things in order to achieve success no matter the mission, but Kage were embroiled in politics, subterfuge, and even paperwork of all things. The horned blonde would need to be not only strong and charismatic, but intelligent and wise in order to truly call himself Perfect. Being able to train and study with Kage Bunshin helped, but his brain could only handle so much information at a time, Naruto realized he'd need to shatter his limitations but he had no idea how.

Then there was Senjutsu, a topic that had slipped Naruto's mind the last time Jiraiya had been in town. Given that Tsunade was Hokage and Jiraiya's old teammate he wondered if he should just ask her about it, as even Kakashi didn't know much. In fact the most anyone seemed to know about it was that Jiraiya was a Sennin, no one seemed to know anything about it except that it was powerful. As a result Naruto was just more curious about the power.

Then there was the other part about his dream, surpassing all the previous Hokage. The horned blonde wasn't sure if he'd actually be able to become better at iryojutsu than Tsunade, the Sandaime had been hailed as the Shinobi no Kami for knowing every ninjutsu in Konoha and even rumored to know the workings of some of the hijutsu of the Konoha shinobi clans, the Yondaime had been a master of Fuinjutsu who put the Kyubi in him and was the only shinobi to ever recieve the 'flee on sight' order in a bingo book entry, the Nidaime was rumored to be capable of creating entire lakes with his mastery of Suiton no Jutsu, and the Shodai was the man who had formed the entire hidden village system.

The Shodai in particular seemed downright impossible to surpass, another man known as the Shinobi no Kami who had completely reshaped the political climate of the very world. Before Hashirama Senju, ninja had been nomadic clans who pledged individually to the highest bidder in a time now known as the Sengoku Jidai, a long and violent era that proceeded the formation of hidden villages. The name alone hinted at what had been going on, and apparently the purpose of genin as a rank was to halt the use of child soldiers throughout the nations.

Yet even Hashirama couldn't conquer Hi no Kuni alone, for all his legendary power and the fact that he had apparently created the very forests around Konoha with his unique Mokuton the Shodai had pledged his village to a Daimyo. The power to change the landscape that the first two Hokage had possessed also sounded well beyond the domains of human ability, but they'd been capable of it so Naruto wanted such power too.

During the patrol the blonde decided to take a quick detour, checking out the Shumatsu no Tani between Hi no Kuni and Oto no Kuni. His excuse was to make sure none of Orochimaru's forces were using it as a crossing point, but the truth was he wanted to see the place of battle between Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha. According to what Naruto had learned the valley was formed in a battle between the two founding fathers of Konoha, the cause of the disagreement was lost to the history books but conjecture assumed it was over who should be Hokage. The winner had obviously gone on to become Shodai.

Naruto frowned at the two statues, making the seal of confrontation at each other, of the Senju and Uchiha. It was odd seeing the face of the Shodai besides the Hokage monument carved into the mountain overlooking Konohagakure no Sato, but it was more odd seeing the face of Madara Uchiha. The blonde thought he looked kind of like Sasuke almost, the hair was the biggest difference and there were also differences in the face but he could see the resemblance.

The horned blonde took a moment to take in the shape of the valley, wondering what the landscape had looked like before the battle between the two legendary shinobi and how much it had changed. Naruto frowned as he realized he didn't have a single jutsu that could cause such devastation, even the Toppa enhanced with Raimeiton and Hoshi chakra was incapable of putting such a scar on the earth.

He returned to his squad to finish the patrol, his mind still swirling with ideas for how he could possibly achieve such power, but he figured he should probably master less destructive aspects of being a shinobi first. Although he'd read up on S rank shinobi, and every single one was either a Kage or a nukenin on Orochimaru's tier that was downright impossible for anyone less than a Kage to defeat. One was even rumored to have toppled an entire nation alone, although the nation in question had not been particularly large nor did it even have a hidden village, that was still a feat Naruto wasn't sure if he could replicate yet.

Once they were back in Konoha, Haku decided he would go train. The pretty boy had been told of two rather interesting ninjutsu by Hinata and Naruto, the blonde had even asked if he could reverse engineer them. He didn't want to disappoint the horned hermaphrodite, but it seemed impossible. Haku didn't know how someone without his Kekkei Genkai could form ice out of thin air, but their chakra control must have been insane.

The bearer of Hyoton had reached the point were he could manage it, but it was weather dependent and he couldn't do it if the air was dry. Even humidity tended to make it difficult, albeit such a thing only increased the chakra cost. However it wasn't quite how Naruto had described, the ice discs the Janin called Renga could form were nigh invisible, only Naruto's keen senses and Hinata's Byakugan had allowed the two to even notice them and Haku just couldn't yet manage it. This made the pretty boy feel a bit less proud of his abilities, it humbled him as Zabuza had always referred to his abilities as genius level.

The other jutsu, used by Ruiga, was another difficulty. While the ice discs were precise chakra control, Haku had determined that they could be formed without hand seals, although making the unique sign of his Makyo Hyosho assisted with manipulating his chakra for the task, but the ability to control water like Gaara had controlled sand was completely beyond the boy. For all Zabuza had praised him as a genius, without knowing the name or hand signs for the ninjutsu there wasn't much he could do.

However Naruto had implied a certain amount of faith that Haku was completely capable of the feat, and the idea of disappointing the optimistic young genin wasn't something the pretty boy could bear so he kept working at it. The first step of the Rasengan had given him the idea that chakra could simply manipulate water freely, but doing it so far from his own body was another matter. The fact that Naruto had defeated the two shinobi who had created these nigh impossible ninjutsu gave Haku a new respect for the power the horned blonde wielded, and that Hinata had defeated the third Janin was similarly impressive considering the two were supposed to be just genin.

Haku had even put off finishing learning the Rasengan in order to try figuring out at least one of those ninjutsu, he'd been focusing on the Suiton no Jutsu of Ruiga as he suspected there were at least hand seals to it. The main issue now was figuring out what those signs were, dog was a likely candidate but when it appeared and how often in the sequence was still a mystery. Despite the association with Doton and Katon tiger was another likely candidate, as was boar and maybe snake.

The pretty boy decided to study ninjutsu theory instead of training, there were probably things he was missing, things he didn't know yet that would help him figure out the jutsu he was trying to reinvent. Haku refused to disappoint Naruto at this point, he would figure out at the least the ninjutsu of Ruiga of the Janin, such a jutsu sounded perfect for defending his new home.

Hinata grinned proudly down at the finally completed Rasengan, this was a massive confidence boost for her as she had never managed to master the Hyuga hijutsu as Neji had done. The older male Hyuga had even apparently figured out main house jutsu without instruction, merely knowing of the Hakkesho Kaiten and the Hakke Rokujuyon Sho had been enough for the prodigy to figure them out on his own. The three armed kunoichi still had yet to manage either, a fact that bothered her less with her newest accomplishment.

Still, now that she had the Rasengan, Hinata figured she should work on her clan hijutsu more, she did intend on teaching Juken to any children she and Naruto had even if they didn't develop the Byakugan. Secretly this was partially out of spite for the elders of her clan, they'd caused such grief for her and Neji with their insistence on ancient traditions from the Sengoku Jidai, but mostly she wanted her children to be strong too.

The fact Naruto was physically mature now had her wondering if she could safely carry a child to term yet, but she kept using contraceptives for now just in case. Hinata wanted her children to be healthy and strong, a natural instinct she had no intention of defying, but she was also growing a little bit eager. The thought of carrying Naruto's child made her giddy, so she started asking for more regular check ups, hoping to learn her boons had also physically matured her soon.

In the meantime Hinata would train, intent on using her boons to surpass the Hakke Rokujuyon Sho. After all, if two palms could reach a multiple of eight, then perhaps three palms could reach an even higher multiple of six. If the kunoichi could seal all but one tenketsu with a single, swift taijutsu combination, then she could truly say she perfected the Juken. The last tenketsu Hinata wasn't too bothered by, three-hundred and sixty was a multiple of six but the last one would make an odd number.

Naruto almost choked on the dinner Isaribi made as his Kage Bunshin dispelled in the other room, he really needed to be more careful with that method of training but what he'd learned was definitely worth it, "You okay, Naruto-nii?" Karin asked with a concerned tone as the blonde beat his chest.

Naruto nodded before he swallowed his food and gasped with relief, "Can you teach me Dokugiri?" he asked suddenly, surprising those at the table. Maemi grinned as she started to realize that the horned blonde had learned something that inspired him, and had likely realized poison was another tool commonly used by shinobi.

Karin looked hesitant so the Imp decided to speak up, "It should be easier for Naruto-sama than most, he already has his own venom." she pointed out, already planning on showing the genin how to milk his own venom glands and apply it to thrown weapons. Hollow senbon would be useful for such a thing, so she made a mental note to have him work on his accuracy with shurikenjutsu more.

Maemi's encouragement helped assuage Karin's concerns a little, "You should ask Shizune-sensei to teach you that one, it's a bit tricky." she suggested, not entirely confident in her own ability to teach such a thing, "What brought that on anyway?" she asked.

Naruto took a sip of sake before answering, "Some of my kage bunshin were reading some scrolls borrowed from the library, just learned about Sanshuou no Hanzo," he answered quickly, eager to return to eating, "it made me realize that despite being venomous I don't use poison much and since I'm learning iryojutsu I figured I should change that." he finished before returning to his meal.

Hanako's jaw dropped at the declaration, "You're trying to be like Hanzo now?" she asked, the man was a feared legend on par with the Kage.

Naruto nodded, finishing his mouthful properly this time before answering, "Sure, why not? He's powerful, rivals the Gokage so well that I wonder why they aren't called the Rokukage for him." he answered.

"Politics." Maemi answered with a sly smirk, "Although he killed the Daimyo of Ame no Kuni and took control of the land as the Shinobigashira of Amegakure no Sato, he doesn't have a head for politics apparently." she explained, "So the surrounding Daimyo acknowledge his military might, but nothing else. Ame no Kuni isn't even considered a real nation despite the existence of his hidden village."

Naruto frowned as politics once again seemed to get in the way of how he thought the world should be run, then it clicked. The blonde finally realized that politics simply was the way the world was run, Maemi recognized the epiphany and couldn't suppress a grin. Naruto took another sip of his dinner sake as he considered it, "I'll ask Tsuna-baachan more about him tomorrow." he decided out loud, then he remembered what he'd learned about how leaders delegated things, "Karin-neechan, could you tell Shizune-chan I want to see her when you're at the hospital tomorrow?" he asked.

Karin hadn't expected the request but nodded in agreement, "Sure, should I tell her why?" she asked and the horned blonde nodded before returning to his meal.

Hanako was still baffled, but she was starting to understand Naruto's ambitions a little better. This realization made her slightly fearful, but she couldn't help but be impressed. The former nukenin supposed it was a good thing the blonde Uzumaki was so soft to those he found beautiful, even if it did hurt her pride as a kunoichi a little. She wondered just how far Naruto planned to go in order to become what he viewed as the perfect shinobi, as it seemed a lack of emotions was not part of his personal definition.

Naruto burst into the Hokage office unannounced with Maemi, startling the blonde woman who had been about to take a sip of sake. The Anbu on guard had noticed him coming but knew there wasn't much point in stopping him due to his odd relationship with their Hokage, mostly they let it happen because they knew the younger blonde would not try to harm the woman, "Tsuna-baachan!" he greeted cheerfully and the woman sighed, taking a sip of her sake as she wondered why he was even there, "Tell me about Sanshouo no Hanzo!" he demanded, prompting the woman to spit out her sake.

"What!?" Tsunade asked, spluttering in surprise from the sudden demand. The Anbu on duty decided to revise the threat level of the younger blonde, making note that the horned genin would not intentionally harm the Godaime Hokage, "Why do you want to hear about that?" the blonde Sannin asked with a raised eyebrow once she recovered.

"I heard you fought him and he's really strong, and Ero Sennin is out of the village again so you're the only person I can ask!" Naruto explained boisterously, "All I could find out from scrolls is that he uses poison, gave your team the title Densetsu no Sannin, and is the head of Amegakure no Sato." he clarified what he already knew.

Tsunade sighed, "So you're curious, right, of course you are." she grumbled, supposing she couldn't fault the young hermaphrodite for that even if she was tempted to, "I don't know what he's up to lately, he agreed to peace with Sarutobi-sensei, but I haven't met with him since he almost killed me ages ago so I'm not exactly eager to see him again." she began dryly, "He's got a contract with a massive and terrifyingly powerful salamander, maybe a clan of them but I only saw the one, he uses a kusarigama expertly, and it's not that he just uses poison the man is literally toxic."

Naruto frowned in confusion, "So he's venomous like me?" he asked curiously.

Tsunade scoffed, "Not even close, he's poisonous in every possible way, he wears a rebreather so his breath doesn't kill people." she answered to the surprise of Naruto and Maemi, "He's so terrifying that just surviving him was enough to be named Densetsu no Sannin, a title he gave us himself for impressing him. Honestly he could have killed us, but I guess we impressed him." she explained.

Naruto looked visibly awed, but Maemi was confused, "How can a human be so poisonous?" she asked, it sounded like the boon of a ruinous power but until Naruto had set eyes on Slaanesh the eyes of the gods was absent from this world.

Tsunade shrugged, "Way I heard he implanted the venom sack of a black salamander in himself, but there has to be more to it since such a thing should kill a normal person so he must have been different even before he did that." she answered vaguely, mostly including the last part because she absolutely did not want to hear about Naruto attempting anything similar.

"So how did he fight?" Naruto asked, curious about that above all.

"Overwhelming power, speed, and toxicity." Tsunade answered blandly, "Even then, I don't feel like I actually fought him, he spared Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and myself simply for surviving his initial assault." she confessed with obvious annoyance.

"Why isn't he the Daimyo of Ame no Kuni?" Naruto asked suddenly.

Tsunade's eyes widened at that question, "I don't know," she confessed hesitantly, "he's strong, but I guess he doesn't really lord over the land like a true Daimyo. So because he maintains a focus on being the head of Amegakure, the land only has one export, shinobi." she pointed out, "Nobody wants to acknowledge a Daimyo who can only go to war." she mused.

Naruto nodded in understanding, "Thanks, Tsuna-baachan!" he said, grateful for the personal lesson on a legendary shinobi. The watching and hidden Anbu were a bit surprised at how easily their Hokage had explained such information, it was the kind of knowledge many of them didn't even truly know.

Maemi was almost tempted to try implanting the venom gland of a Daemon within Naruto, but she had a better idea and she waited until the blonde was training after guarding the gate with Izumo and Kotetsu to explain it, "A venom gland sounds dangerous, but there is something Daemons of Slaanesh-sama stronger than I have that is even more dangerous." she began, immediately getting the attention and interest of her blonde master, "It's not usually allowed as a boon for mortals, and it's certainly not the kind of thing I'm allowed to have yet, but with your horns you might be able to get it." she explained.

Naruto was as curious as he was interested, "What is it?" he asked eagerly, halting his practice with his puppet.

Maemi grinned at the eagerness of her master, "A musk gland, all Shuryoju have it but some Greater Daemons and exalted handmaidens of Slaanesh-sama are gifted with one of their own." she explained, "As Shuryoju are Daemons, it should grow back if you can take one out, but to surgically implant one will take a lot of your chakra, and you'll need to get better with iryo ninjutsu." she warned.

Privately, the Imp had briefly considered using the venom sack from the same Daemon they were discussing, but she had no idea if it would work for her master as it had for Hanzo. Besides which the horned blonde wouldn't want to be dangerous to his harem and the Muse didn't feel like figuring out how to make Haku and the girls immune to such toxins.

"Couldn't Shizune-chan or Tsuna-baachan help?" Naruto asked with a raised eyebrow.

"No!" Maemi responded a little too quickly as she struggled to come up with a good reason, "No one but you can handle it, even you might wind up dazed and confused." she began hesitantly, "If you didn't have four horns I wouldn't even consider it, but we should work on building up your toxin resistance first." she explained.

"Toxin resistance?" Naruto asked, wondering what that had to do with anything.

Maemi nodded, "Yes! We've sort of been doing it, but now we should work on it even more." she answered, which confused the blonde further, "The human body is surprisingly sturdy, pound for pound even the average merchant is more durable than a horse and you guys have amazing endurance and vitality considering you're mortals, those who train chakra have even greater vitality, and as an Uzumaki your vitality is greater than most Kage already, it's why you can handle alcohol so well." she explained.

"So how do I train that?" Naruto asked as he scratched the skin beneath his right horns.

"You have to expose your body to more poisons, toxins, and venom in order to build up a tolerance." Maemi explained with a wide grin, far too wide, "Also, considering the nature of the gland, you should try handling more cannabis when you smoke, by taking things to excess you've basically been passively training these things, even building up your alcohol tolerance has helped, but if you want to try implanting this musk gland you'll need to take it up a notch."

Naruto nodded in understanding, he was interested and curious, "Just don't tell Hinata-chan that I'm training when I'm supposed to be relaxing." he warned quietly.

Maemi laughed, "Relaxation is a part of training, but I agree that this should be between us until you pull it off." she assured, amused by how domineering the formerly shy kunoichi was.

Karin frowned when she got home late from the hospital, Hanako was in her room already but the shared bedroom of the harem was a bit crowded. The issue was there wasn't much space for the late red head, she felt this was a little unfair since she was late because she was helping out at the hospital on unpaid overtime.
