Chapter 15: Prison Break
It is now the month of January, 1996 as the new year has arrived. Somewhere in the middle of the North Sea, an island was present. But it wasn't just any island, it was a fortress that served as a prison for its inmates. Azkaban was the name of the prison, and this prison was like any prison that held the worst of the worst, a hellhole. The prison was guarded by foul beasts known as Dementors, as they fly around guarding the prison, to make sure any inmate doesn't escape, while taking the souls of such prisoners as their punishment. They say Azkaban was a rather grim place, and it was rightfully so as this prison was where the madness began for all its inhabitants, so much so that it made Arkham Asylum look like child's play.
The night was dark and stormy, as the rain poured hard against the fortress. But tonight was no ordinary night, as tonight was the moment where the biggest prison break took place. In some of the cells, holds a death eater, who has been convicted of some of the worst possible crimes ever since the first wizarding war. Each death eater had a tattoo branded on their left inner forearm, showcasing the Dark Mark, Voldemort's call sign. The cell doors open and the person who was freeing the death eaters was none other than Menma, who has orchestrated this mass break out. "On your feet Dolohov, the time has come, the dark lord requires your presence," Menma stated gruffly to the prisoner named Dolohov. Antonin Dolohov was a burly man with a long, pale, and twisted face, who sported dark hair, and a bushy beard. He smirked, as he left the cell with the masked man. The next prisoner Menma broke out with was Augustus Rookwood, a tall, pock-marked and gray greasy-haired wizard. Lastly the final prisoner that was broken out of the cell was Bellatrix Lestrange. Bellatrix was a tall woman with long, thick, shiny dark hair, long eyelashes and heavily hooded eyes, as her face had a strong jaw and a thin mouth, but her face looked gaunt and skull-like. "Get up Lestrange, the dark lord requires your presence," Menma ordered. Lestrange smirks as she haughtily walks over to him and tries to see who was under the mask. "I didn't know my savior was a masked man, come here and let me see who-"
"I do not have time for your games Lestrange, Voldemort requires our presence and he is not a man who will stand around and wait as you do what you please," Menma said, grabbing the arm she was using to see who was under the mask, as Menma coldly looks at her with his red fox slitted eyes, shown underneath the mask. Lestrange felt that aura and soon does as commanded, as she along with the other death eaters who were broken out by Menma leave the prison with their masked savior, while the dementors do nothing, as they have seemingly switched sides. News came quickly regarding this incident, as this mass breakout made headlines at the Daily Prophet. The Ministry was trying to cover this story up, as Fudge was claiming that someone who had knowledge of the prison caused this event to happen and yet he doesn't believe Voldemort was the one responsible. Plus it seems that the Ministry has also angered the centaurs as that had also made headlines on the news.
Timeskip
The group was back at Hogwarts, to continue their fifth year, while also trying to prepare for any future threats from Voldemort and Menma. Around this time, some things have happened. Firstly Naruto has taken a look into Grindelwald's journal and learned a couple of spells in secret, such as Protego Diabolica, his signature lightning spell he used during the incident that happened in New York around 1926, the tempest jinx, and his white elemental blast spell. He also read about much of his notes when it comes to not only offensive and defensive magic, but also runes, healing spells, Occlumency, as well as some of his techniques he used in potion making, and he even read up much about the man's life from his time at Durmstrang to his ultimate duel with Dumbledore in 1945. From that journal there were also references to his encounters with some people he met such as Credence Barebone, the Dumbledore siblings(Albus, Aberforth, Arianna), Newt Scamander, and the Goldstein sisters(Porpentina and Queenie).
Not only did Naruto master some of Grindelwald's spells, he was working on improving the armiger spell he created. He improved the armiger spell by making some of the crystal weapons available to be used by the people that are around him. He tested this upgrade out with his shadow clones as they strike a training dummy. Also when it came to the fox fire technique, Naruto finally mastered it as he managed to combine this technique with the Rasengan, creating a new variation of the Rasengan, which was a yellow swirling ball with small red orange flames surrounding the ball, like the sun.
Anyways back at Hogwarts, some things have happened. Firstly Hagrid has returned, after months of negotiations with the giants. But from how the negotiations went, the giants still aren't giving their support as relations with the giants and the wizarding community were at an uneven ground, heck even the centaurs are pretty pissed as well. To make matters worse, the group has learned about the mass breakout that happened at Azkaban. "Dumbledore warned Fudge this could happen. He's going to get us all killed just because he can't face the truth," Hermione complained, as both she and Naruto were walking down the middle of the Great Hall. Naruto nods, "You have a point, people fear what they don't understand. If Fudge is denying this and keeps spreading this lie, then more lives will be lost and soon we might lose." Just then Seamus came up to the group, "Harry…I wanted to apologize. Now even my mum says the Prophet's version of things don't add up. So…what I'm really trying to say is that…I believe you." Harry and the others nodded, even though it took Seamus a long ass time to admit that they were right.
