This is purely self-indulgent, as I completely adore the beautiful Mark Gatiss and his interpretation of Mycroft Holmes. This is hopefully an attempt to humanise 'The Ice Man', from a child into adulthood, which I hope someone will like. Might be *slightly* OOC. Hopefully it's better than this summary suggests, I'm rubbish at them. Rated M just in case.

John is called into a case and meets the main consultant of the Yard who has strike up a rivalry with him, never mind the fact that it was one-sided. As John juggles writing the second novel of his book and the petty (and troublesome) rivalry of Sherlock Holmes he hopes that he could safely deliver his story to his editor.

Laurel followed Sherlock around in college, always going out of her way to be around him; she found him just as interesting as he found her. When he graduated, he didn't keep in touch; however, when she graduated she started a large game of hide and seek. But now, Laurel figured, was the time for their game to end. Eventual Sherlock/OC with John/Mary? Rating is subject to change.
