Alright, my first ever fic, written as a Christmas present to a friend. John hasn't been the same since Sherlock's been gone. Things change when he gets an unexpected visitor one night.

The infamous deerstalker makes an appearance. (The only way it's a death-Frisbee in this is if it's death by fluff.)

Sherlock finds himself utterly struck by John Watson and, for once, does not have all the answers. Why is he so fascinated by this one person? Some Kidlock. John and Sherlock meet when they are children, and have an unexpected reunion years later. JOHNLOCK.

Sherlock has died and John has retreated into a daze when Mycroft, through Greg, offers him a job working with the Scotland Yard. John takes it for want of a distraction, but it's not a solution so much as a trap, keeping him from doing anything drastic or moving on with his life until Sherlock returns.
