Two years after "the Fall" and John's getting married to the lovely Mary. But things begin to happen. John finds letters and curious objects in Sherlock's old things on a cleaning day. If Sherlock were to come back, how would he fit into John's life with wife by his friend's side? Would he even come back? And the most thought-provoking question: What's Sherlock been up to?

John Watson conveniently happens across Sherlock as he's having a heart attack. John manages to save Sherlock. Having not died, Sherlock now feels that there is something left for him and sets out on a quest to find it.

It is Christmas at the Holmes' family mansion and Mycroft gets drunk and invades Sherlock's bedroom, Sherlock finds out what he wants and complies, unfortunately, they make a bit too much noise and the parents are downstairs and can hear them.

A story for "the War" writing group with the prompt of "angst". John knew the moment his life ended, because as Sherlock's head smashed against the ground everything important to him died. Maybe he'd find peace again in the bloodshed of war. It didn't turn out like he expected. Trigger warnings for blood, gore and graphic violence.

Mycroft didn't like to stoop as low as Sherlock in order to get his own way. Taking a certain skull or a certain doctor hostage worked effectively. Sometimes Mycroft has to use reverse psychology on his brother, and it's frighteningly easy. Other's don't mind stooping that low. Some people don't need to use mind tricks. Sherlolly, Johnlock, paternal Lestrade. One-shots. Sort of.

As they grow John learns he has to fight in a world obsessed with birth while at the same time an obsessive love threatens to tear him apart.
