A/N

Thank you once again for coming to read my garbage. I've decided that Tsuya will be disconnected from his emotions, kind of like Sai. He has them but they're subtle and well hidden by his acting. Also, fully sealed Tsuya is not as strong as Kakashi. He's about as strong as post time skip Naruto. If he releases the gravity seals and chakra seals he has on then he would be at sage level, maybe slightly higher. Fully unsealed Tsuya, without any kyuubi chakra or any buffs, is above Hiruzen, but not at Pain or Obito's level. Kurei is different. Kurei is like a mindless killing machine. He does think but he doesn't hesitate, if there is still a living person around then he isn't done yet. However, Kurei can't unlock the seals placed on Tsuya's body and he can't forcibly take control whenever he wants. Only when Tsuya is breaking down or is enraged. On another note, because of the gravity and chakra seals all over his body he is constantly getting stronger with every battle. Now then, I might do the first half of wave or I'll just make it a really long chapter(for me anyway). Don't really have anything else to say. Enjoy!

Inside the academy a week later

Tsuya had arrived not too long ago. The jounin had yet to arrive and pick up their teams so he was fine. As soon as he got to class Iruka yelled at him telling him he was late. Tsuya just shrugged and headed to his seat in the back of the class. Iruka then gave some speech about what a shinobi is or whatever. Tsuya just ignored it and fell asleep. Or at least he tried to.

Inside Tsuya's mind scape

Tsuya was lying on the ground. His mind was a cave with upside down trees, completely flooded with water. Even though it was submerged in water, Tsuya could breath just fine. "What do you want fur ball? I was trying to sleep." In a hole in the cave wall was a massive orange fox with nine tails. It was sitting behind some bars, as if it was a massive cage. With a menacing and deep voice it said, "I called you here to warn you." "About what?" Tsuya asked in a bored tone. When he was in here he didn't bother to hide who he truly was. Why would he when the fur ball, as he liked to call him, already knew every thought he had? "Somebody has been watching you. And I don't mean the old man." "I already know. Hiruzen placed ANBU to watch me because of the console's fear that I may not be completely loyal to Konoha. Their unfounded fear, might I add." "Fools. What's the point of sending a single ANBU when a few years ago you took out over 50 of them. Single handedly." "Meh. They're old farts who worry about everything." With that out of the way Tsuya left the mindscape and went back to his nap.

2 and a half hours later, Kakashi finally arrived. He decided to hide in the rafters to learn a little bit about his new team before he actually met them. During the time before he had arrived all the other teams had already left whie Sakura pestered Sasuke for a date. Said emo grunted and ignored her, waiting patiently for their sensei to arrive. As soon as Kakashi got up in the rafters and took a peek at his team he noticed that Tsuya had opened his eyes for a moment and looked at him before closing them and going back to his nap.

30 minutes later Kakashi finally entered the room through the door to get his team. "My first impression.. You all suck. Meet me at the rooftop in 5 minutes." He left as quickly as he had arrived. They all got up and started heading towards the rooftop.

"So, introduce yourselves." "Umm. Could you give us an example?" Sakura asked. "Sure. My name is Kakashi Hatake. I don't feel like telling you my likes and dislikes. My hobbies? I have lots of hobbies. And my dream? Haven't really thought about it." It may have only given them his name but it did give them an idea about what to say. "Shouldn't it have been a bit more practical? Like your abilities and skills." Tsuya asked. "Well I suppose. As for my abilities, I'm well versed in lightning and fire, however, I know lots of jutsu from all 5 basic elements. Is that better?" "Sure." "Now then, princess you're up." With a grunt, Sasuke began, "My name is Sasuke Uchiha. There aren't many things I like. I dislike most things. My hobbies include training and studying my clan's techniques. My dream, no, my ambition, is to kill a certain man. My abilities include a few fire element techniques and the academy 3." "Your turn pinky." "My name is Sakura Haruno. My likes are *squeals. My dislikes are Ino-pig. My hobbies are *squeals again. And my dream is *squeal yet again. Umm, my abilities are the academy 3." "Your next." Kakashi couldn't think of a nickname that would fit Tsuya. "My name is Tsuya Konton. My likes are training. My dislikes are fangirls, useless rabble and something I don't feel you need to know about yet. My hobbies include training, sleeping, watching people, and something classified. I don't have a dream of my own. My abilities include wind release, some seals and my clan techniques." Tsuya stated simply. "What do you mean something classified?" Sakura asked. Tsuya gave a meaningful glance at Kakashi before turning to Sakura. "Exactly that. Only those of chunin rank and higher are privy to this information. Also the console and a select few others." "Then why do you know about it?" "Because it is information involving me." "What could possibly be so important about yo-" "That's enough." Kakashi butt in before anything else could be said. "What he said is the truth. Now then, meet me tomorrow morning at training ground 3. Be there by 7. And I suggest you don't eat." Kakashi disappeared in a leaf shunshin. Sakura left with Sasuke after a couple moments. Sasuke secretly vowed to find out whatever his secret was. Even if he didn't openly express his curiosity, Tsuya knew Sasuke was going to try to figure out his secret. After a couple of minutes Kakashi showed up again. Tsuya didn't make a move. "What were you thinking? If they learned about that then you-" "I know. That's the point. Because they either need to get used to it or I will be made a one-man squad. If they couldn't see me for me after learning that then I couldn't trust them with my life anyways." With that said Tsuya stood up and disappeared. "God dammit Tsuya." Kakashi didn't know what he was planning but it worried him. Based on the file he had been given by Hiruzen, Tsuya had a tendency to make schemes that would affect the entire village in an instance. It's why there are only 3 people on the console to represent the civilians. There used to be 10.

The following day

Tsuya didn't arrive until 9:50. This greatly annoyed Sasuke and Sakura as not only was he late but so was their sensei. "You're late!" The banshee cried. "Kakashi isn't here so obviously I wasn't late for anything important." Tsuya had a fair point. "Well, he is here, he just hasn't shown himself." "Oh really? Then where is he?" Sakura asked, annoyed. Tsuya threw a kunai toward a specific tree and Kakashi fell out with his book in hand. Kakashi glared at Tsuya before wiping the dirt off of himself. "*Sigh. I was hoping to wait a little longer. Well, today will be your genin test." "But we already had our genin test." Sakura pointed out. "That test is designed to weed out the ones that don't have the talent to be a shinobi." Tsuya said. "True. This is the real test." Kakashi pulled out a clock and placed it on a nearby tree stump. "I have 2 bells on my waist. When the clock strikes 12:00, whoever doesn't have a bell will be sent back to the academy. Any questions?" No one said anything. "Then we start… Now!" Sasuke and Sakura dashed out into the surrounding forest to find hiding spots. They were both a little surprised when they saw that Tsuya hadn't moved. "First off, why would you hide when we need to go on the offensive to win? Secondly, this is a test of teamwork designed to pit us against each other. Have you ever seen a 2 man squad going around Konoha? Lastly, do you actually think any normal, fresh out of the academy, genin stands any chance against a seasoned jounin? Get it together." Sasuke and Sakura were both shocked. Partly at the fact that Tsuya had pieced everything together so quickly and partly because they somehow hadn't realized such an obvious ploy. "*Sigh. You could've at least let them figure it out." "But that would take too long. Plus, they might not have figured it out." Sasuke and Sakura came out of their hiding spots, preparing to fight. Tsuya dashed at Kakashi with Sasuke. Sakura was about to when Tsuya spoke up. "You aren't any good at close quarters combat Sakura. Just stay back and try to provide support with long ranged attacks. Sasuke, I'll take his front, you target any openings he makes." Sasuke grunted then said, "And why should I listen to you?" Tsuya simply sighed and proceeded to assault Kakashi with a flurry of punches and kicks. Sasuke tried to help as well but he merely gave Kakashi an escape route after he got in the way of one of Tsuya's attacks. "That's why you should listen to me." Tsuya said in a deadpan tone. During this Sakura didn't do anything. She just kind of stood there trying to find an opening to do something. Tsuya and Sasuke dashed after Kakashi who had only gone to the other side of the training ground. "Sakura try to actually do something." Tsuya said. "Y-yeah." Tsuya launched another assault of punches and kicks at Kakashi with Sasuke actually listening and going for any openings this time. Sakura would throw a kunai or two every once and a while, just hoping to hit something. And indeed she did, just not her target. She hit Tsuya's arm and caused an opening for Kakashi once again. "Kakashi is the target, not me." Tsuya dashed after Kakashi once again. They did this a few more times before Kakashi suddenly grabbed Sasuke's arm and flipped him on the ground. He then dashed over to Sakura. 'Kai' Tsuya yelled in his mind as the genjutsu dispelled. He looked around and saw Sakura on the ground passed out and Sasuke fighting nothing. Tsuya dashed over to Sasuke and released the Genjutsu. "Genjutsu. Be careful. Let's go." Sasuke nodded and they dashed into the forest. After a couple seconds Sasuke came flying out covered in smoke after a big explosion. "I wasn't expecting you to use such a strong fire jutsu during a simple test." Tsuya said with a cough. His clothes were singed and there was smoke coming off of his body. Kakashi merely shrugged. "Do you mind if I get just a little serious? I haven't gotten the chance to actually do anything to stretch my muscles in a while." Tsuya asked. "Sure why no-" Kakashi was cut off by a punch that sent him flying. At some point Tsuya had taken the bells from Kakashi without him noticing.

1 hour later

Sasuke and Sakura woke up a little disoriented after being knocked out. "Ah. Look who's up." Tsuya's voice was the first thing they heard. "Good. Well then. You all pass. Starting tomorrow we'll be doing missions. Meet me here at 7." Kakashi disappeared with a quick leaf shunshin. "We passed?" Sakura asked. "After he knocked you out with a genjutsu, me and Sasuke took him on. Sasuke got knocked out with a fireball but I managed to grab the bells. We were waiting for you 2 to wake up. Now I'l be going on my way." Tsuya got up and started walking away. Sasuke knew he was lying. Something definitely happened but he couldn't quite tell what it was. He would be keeping his eye on Tsuya.

'How the hell did I end up doing this?' Tsuya thought to himself. "Well, you were assigned a D-rank and now you're painting a fence." Kurama said. 'How is this a D-rank mission? This is just a chore that someone couldn't be bothered to do.' Tsuya was currently painting a fence with Sasuke and Sakura while Kakashi sat on a tree and read his book.

A few hours later they had finally finished painting the fence. Both Sasuke and Tsuya were annoyed at this. They were expecting missions not chores. Sakura was just happy she could spend time with Sasuke. Over the next few weeks they would do random chores and it started to annoy Sakura as well.

Quick A/N: the ANBU that had been watching Tsuya was relieved of duty near the end of team 7's d-rank missions

"Ah. Team 7. Let's see. Today we have capturing Tora, cleaning the Inuzuka kennels, or…" Hiruzen started but stopped when he noticed the faces on team 7. "Lord Third, we're ready for a more difficult mission! I don't want to do these stupid chores anymore!" Sasuke said. He couldn't take it anymore. "I second that." Tsuya said calmly. "Kakashi? Do you think they're ready?" Hiruzen asked. "Yes, Lord Third. I believe that they're ready." Kakashi said. "*Sigh. Very well. Send him in." A drunk and disheveled man came in from the side door. "I pay good money and this is what I get? A couple of kids and a toothpick." "I can assure you, Tazuna, they are more than skilled enough to guard you." Hiruzen said. "Your mission is to escort Tazuna here back to the land of waves and guard him while he builds his bridge." With a nod Kakashi turned towards his team to address them. "Meet at the North gate in 1 hour. Pack for a 2 week trip." WIth that they all walked out of the room. "Are you sure they're ready for a C-rank mission, Hokage?" Iruka asked. "While Sakura and Sasuke might not be ready, it will give them a taste of the real shinobi life. Plus with Kakashi and even Tsuya there nothing will happen." "If you say so." Iruka trusted his judgment but he was still worried.

An hour later at the north gate

"Is everyone ready?" Kakashi asked. Team 7 nodded. "Alright then. I'll be in the back. Sasuke to the left, Sakura to the right, and Tsuya will be in the front." With that they headed out. The first 3 days were uneventful. Sakura would randomly make small talk with Tazuna, Kakashi would read his book, Sasuke would brood, and Tsuya would constantly scan the surroundings. At night, team 7 would take turns keeping watch while the others slept in tents. But on the fourth day, something happened.

'A puddle in the middle of the road when the sky is clear as can be and it hasn't rained in days. Could they be anymore stupid?' Tsuya asked himself. Tsuya grabbed 2 kunai out of his pouch and threw them at the puddle. Just before they could hit, the demon brothers jumped out. Unfortunately for them, they reacted too late and they were still hit by the kunai. Mezu, on the left, was hit in the shoulder while Gozu, on the right, was hit in the throat. Gozu fell to the ground dead before he could even do anything. "GOZU! NOOO!" Mezu shouted in despair. "I'll kill you for this!" He shouted before running towards Tsuya. Tsuya merely dodged out of the way of Mezu before grabbing his long hair and pulling him to the ground. He quickly grabbed the kunai out of Mezu's shoulder and put it to his throat. "Who are you working for?" Tsuya asked without hesitation. Mezu was in shock at this point. He recognized that voice. But where had he heard it before? "You have 5 seconds to answer." Mezu still couldn't quite remember where he had heard that voice before but there was something about it. That's when it struck him. "Wait! I know you! You're that bast-" He didn't get to finish his sentence as Tsuya slit his throat. If he wasn't going to talk then he had no use for him. At the sight of the brutality Tazuna ran over to a bush and emptied the contents of his stomach. Sakura followed not long after. Sasuke was disappointed in himself for not being able to do anything but wasn't really fazed by what he had just witnessed. That was until Tsuya had started cutting their heads off. While Sasuke didn't puke, he couldn't bring himself to look. After Tsuya had finished severing the heads he grabbed a sealing scroll out of his ouch and sealed the heads. He then took the bodies out into the forest and burnt them to ash with a simple fire jutsu. Shortly after that, Sakura and Tazuna had come back from emptying their stomachs. Sasuke, while disgusted at what Tsuya had done, had to ask. "What was that about? Why did you keep their… heads?" "Bounties." Was all Tsuya said. "We should be careful. There are likely more after us." "Speaking of," Kakashi started, "who's after you Tazuna? We were told that it would only be bandits, not trained ninja." Tazuna started sweating nervously, not sure what to do. "Ah well, you see… Um… There's this guy, Gato, who basically controls Wave and he really doesn't want me to finish building this bridge. So he sent some assassins after me." "So you lied about the mission then?" Tsuya asked. "Well, yeah. We couldn't afford to pay for a B-rank mission and I wasn't expecting him to send ninja after me." "As that is the case, we are well within our rights to abandon this mission right now and leave you here." Tazuna was dumbfounded. He didn't know what to do. "That's true." Kakashi said. For as much as he didn't want to leave as it would almost certainly mean Tazuna would die, it was ultimately up to his students to decide. "Well, what do you guys wanna do?" "Please. If you protect me and take Gato down, you'd be able to get a ton of extra money from Gato's storage houses. The man's super rich." Tazuna pleaded. Sakura was conflicted. On the one hand it could be really dangerous but on the other hand she didn't want to just let Tazuna die. For Sasuke it wasn't even a question. If he didn't then that would mean giving up. And giving up would mean he isn't getting closer to his goal. "I vote to continue." Sasuke said resolutely. "T-then I say we go too." Sakura said. She didn't really want to go but she wanted to support Sasuke. "It appears that I don't have a choice then. *Sigh. Let's keep moving then." Tsuya said. So they went on their way.

After 3 more days they were almost there. They were almost at the land of waves. Nothing of note had happened since the incident with the demon brothers, but they listened to Tsuya's advice and kept on guard.

A thick fog rolled in. All of the sudden Tsuya threw a kunai into a bush and then dashed over. Turned out it was just a rabbit. 'Something isn't right here. A rabbit with a white coat in the dead of summer? But how? Unless it was raised indoors..' Tsuya thought to himself when his eyes opened wide. "Everybody get down!" He shouted as he tackled Tazuna to the ground. A giant sword came soaring through the air and logged itself in a tree when a mysterious figure landed on its hilt. "Sharp senses you got there kid." Spoke the mysterious man in a deep voice. "Zabuza Momochi. The demon of the hidden mist." Kakashi stated. "No wonder the demon brothers didn't finish the job. Well if it isn't Kakashi of the sharingan." At that Sasuke went wide eyed and started at Kakashi, but only for a moment. Right now there was an enemy in front of them. "Zabuza? Who's that?" Sakura asked. "An A-rank missing nin from the village hidden in the mist. Known as the demon of the mist, he is a master of the silent kill technique and 1 of the 7 swordsmen of the mist. 18,000,000 ryo bounty." Tsuya said. "Hmm. You seem to know a lot about me. On second thought you seem kind of familiar. Do I know you?" Zabuza asked. Tsuya didn't say anything. "Oh well. It doesn't really matter." Zabuza said before he then disappeared into the mist. He reappeared and went for a dash at the group but Kakashi blocked him. Then another Zabuza appeared behind Kakashi and sliced him in half, the other Zabuza turned into water. "It's over." He said. Then kakashi used Zabuza's trick against him and appeared behind him, holding a kunai to his neck. "No. Now it's over." "It'll take more than that to trick me." Zabuza said from behind Kakashi once again. He tried to slice Kakashi but Kakashi managed to barely dodge out of the way. Zabuza ended up lodging his word into the ground but he used it as a stand to kick Kakashi before he could retaliate. Kakashi managed to jump out of the way and landed on a nearby lake. A bad decision as he would soon find out. Zabuza dashed over to him and trapped him in a water prison. 'Dammit. Escaping onto the lake was a bad idea.' Sasuke and Sakura were standing by, still on the ground this whole time. Tsuya meanwhile was watching Zabuza to see what he was doing and looking for any openings. He saw his chance the moment Zabuza used the water prison on Kakashi. "That was a mistake, Zabuza. Now you can't move from that spot." Tsuya said. "Maybe, but that doesn't mean I'm defenseless. Water clone jutsu!" He shouted and a clone of Zabuza formed out of the lake. With a small chuckle Tsuya lowered himself so he could dash straight at Zabuza's real body. Tsuya poured some chakra into his legs and dashed straight past Zabuza's clones. With a kunai in hand he went for a strike to the neck, however, Zabuza managed to jump out of the way just in time. 'He's fast. I better be more careful.' Zabuza thought to himself. "Yin release: Dark blade." Tsuya said as a pure black straight sword manifested in his hands. He then dashed at Zabuza and engaged in a sword fight. 'Yin release? Most people don't start with yin or yang until they're jounin and yet a genin is using it? Interesting. Very interesting.' Zabuza thought to himself. Zabuza had only heard of a few people ever using yin and yang. 1 of which he had met personally. A few years ago he came across a mercenary that wore a solid black mask with a fox design by the name of Kurei. He apparently was quite skilled and had the ability to use yin release, though he never saw it personally. He had only met him briefly but by the end of their meeting, Zabuza had a new scar on his left arm and a thirst for revenge. "Tell me. Are you by chance Kurei, the mercenary that wandered all over the elemental nations for 4 years?" Zabuza asked while locked in a sword struggle with Tsuya. "You got the wrong guy. Sorry." Tsuya said. Before Zabuza could prod any further, Tsuya jumped back just in time to dodge a water bullet that sent Zabuza flying. Seeing Kakashi was up again and ready to fight, Tsuya walked back over to Sasuke, Sakura, and Tazuna. While he was walking he let go of his sword and it vaporized. He sat down and started watching the fight. "What was that?" Sasuke asked in an annoyed tone. After all, how could this nobody be that skilled? There's simply no way he could be better than him, an Uchiha elite. "Specify." "How did you create that black sword? And how did you keep up with Zabuza?" "To answer your first question: it's a jutsu I learned, no different than your fireball jutsu. To answer your second question: I'm strong and fast." Sasuke couldn't believe that someone, that this nobody, could possibly be more powerful than himself. "But how did you get so strong?" Sasuke demanded. "First off, you do not command me so maybe try asking nicely. Second, have you ever heard of seals? They do wonders for training." Tsuya said in a near monotonous voice. "Seals? What are those?" Sakura asked. "Ask Kakashi." Tsuya said. He didn't feel like explaining it. Plus he wanted to see how Kakashi would deal with having to actually teach for once instead of just forcing everyone to do teamwork exercises.

Meanwhile, Kakashi was using mind games on Zabuza to trick him. Like doing the water dragon jutsu at the same time as him. Or finishing his sentences. But they were currently locked in a stalemate of sorts, trading blows or blocking each others. They weren't making any progress. Then Kakashi managed to capitalize on 1 of Zabuza's mistakes and was about to end it with a kunai to the neck. Then a senbon hit Zabuza in the neck, instantly "killing" him. A hunter nin came out of the forest to collect Zabuza's corpse. "Thank you. I've been hunting this particular missing nin for quite a while now." "Sure." Kakashi said, too tired to really think about what was going on. Then Tsuya went over and grabbed Zabuza's sword. "I think I'll keep this." He said. "That is property of the village hidden in the mist. I must ask that you return that." THe hunter nin said. "Then I must ask that you either prove that you're a hunter nin by following protocol or have the Mizukage send a formal request to Konoha asking for it back." If he was an actual hunter nin then it would be a perfectly reasonable request, however, Tsuya already knew that this wasn't an actual hunter nin. He put the sword on his back and picked up Kakashi, who was about to pass out, and knocked him out. "Also," he whispered, "don't try anything. You're lucky that I'm letting you go as it is." He put Kakashi on his back and walked back to the rest of team 7. 'How did he see through my facade so easily?' The hunter nin thought to himself. He grabbed Zabuza and then headed off in a different direction. "Tazuna, how far is your house from here? Can we rest there for a bit?" Tsuya asked. "Y-yeah. It's not far from here. It's only about an hour away." "Good. Let's go."

With that they went on their way.

The following morning

When Kakashi awoke, he looked around only to find himself in an unfamiliar room. He noticed that he still had all his stuff on him and noticed the door was cracked. He could hear people talking in another room. He tried to get up but he couldn't quite stand. He saw a pair of crutches in the corner with a note attached. 'Everybody's fine. We're currently at Tazuna's house. Rest up.' Kakashi chuckled slightly at the note and then used the crutches to walk out of the room. He headed to where he could hear the voices coming from. He walked in to find everybody eating. "Kakashi sensei! You're okay!" Sakura yelled out as soon as she saw him up and about. Sasuke turned to see him and just grunted. "I was wondering how long you would sleep for." Tsuya said as he continued to eat. "Are you okay?" Sakura asked. "I'm fine. Just a little chakra exhaustion. I'll be fine in a few days." "That's perfect. Because Zabuza is still alive. He'll probably need about a week to recover." Tsuya said."What?!" Sasuke yelled, choking on his food. "I know. But why didn't you do anything about it?" Kakashi asked, with obvious distrust in his voice. "If possible I'd rather like to avoid killing such a good fighter. Plus he could be useful in the future." "For what?" "Who knows." Tsuya said with a shrug. Kakashi wasn't sure if he could trust him at the moment. It seemed like he knew Zabuza somehow. "Wait, but didn't the hunter nin kill Zabuza?" Sakura asked, still confused at everything. "No, he likely put him in a death trance, a near death state that puts lots of strain on the body. Tsuya responded. "I think we should train just in case. Although, Zabuza won't be much of a threat without his sword, it couldn't hurt to prepare just in case." Tsuya said. "True." Kakashi said.

After that they all finished eating and Kakashi took them outside. "Alright. Today I'll teach you how to climb trees." Kakashi said. "But sensei, we already know how to climb trees." Sakura asked. "Without your hands." Kakashi said. He then walked up the tree. Tsuya walked up another tree that was nearby. "I can already do this, so can I go do my own training?" Tsuya asked. Kakashi wasn't really surprised. "Sure." "How did you do that?" Sasuke asked, slightly angry. "You send a continuous but controlled stream of Chakra to the bottom of your feet. You can do the same thing to walk on water." Tsuya said as he was walking away. He had more important matters to deal with.

With Zabuza at Gato's hideout

"You couldn't even kill a single man and a couple of kids! What do I even pay you for!" Gato screamed at Zabuza. "In my defense, I was up against Kakahsi of the sharingan and Kurei of the crimson mist." Zabuza said in a weak voice, still recovering from his injuries. "Like hell if I care! Just do your damn job!" Gato yelled as he walked out. "Who was that kid?" Haku asked, with his mask off as he was tending to Zabuza's wounds. "That kid is an S-ranked mercenary known as Kurei of the Crimson Mist. I have no idea what he's doing working with Konoha though." "Well it looked like he was a Konoha shinobi. What did he even do to earn that title?" Zabuza grunted. "Sorry." Haku said. "Well, he almost exclusively did missions at night and, on 1 occasion, he completely eradicated a bandit town of over 500 in a single night. They say that the town was surrounded by a red mist after he was done. There weren't any corpses or any signs that he was even there. Whether or not the story is true isn't important. What is known for a fact is that he killed over 500 people in a single night. I worked with him once. The ways he kills his victims is horrifying." "What did he do?" Haku asked. He had never seen Zabuza with such a horrified look on his face. "He has a jutsu that plows them up from the inside out. He has a jutsu that cuts reality itself. I don't know how to put it. It was like there was a tear in space. He could also create a pitch black sword that could phase through objects to cut its target. He could also hover off of the ground and fly around." Haku temporarily stopped out of pure shock. "How?" "I'm not sure but if I had to guess then he was likely from the Bugendai clan." "The Bugendai clan? I thought they were wiped out during the first shinobi war." "Well, supposedly they weren't actually wiped. There just weren't many of them and they abandoned their ancestral home. Now then, are you just going to listen in on our conversation or are you actually going to join us?" Zabuza seemingly asked no one. "Ohh. Why did you have to ruin my fun Momochi?" Tsuya asked from the ceiling. Haku quickly turned around and threw a senbon at the spot the voice was coming from but hit nothing. "I'm right here you know." Tsuya said, suddenly sitting in a chair next to Haku. He was spinning a kunai on his finger. "We're working against each other. Why would I let you listen to all of our plans?" "Aren't we comrades? I saved your life last I checked." "What do you want?" Zabuza hated it when Kurei did this. He didn't get any amusement when he did this but he still did it just to annoy the people around him. "So boring. *Sigh. Well I have a proposal. Gato is planning to betray you and I have your sword. If you accept, we don't have to fight, you get to live, and you get your sword back. So?" "Let's hear this proposal first." "Very well. I want you and Haku to come back with me to Konoha and become Konoha shinobi." "Why would we do that? Why do you want us to go back with you?" "SImple. Konoha is heading down a dark path and it could very well lead it to destruction. When or if that happens I want you to lead its survivors to rebuild and teach them to survive. They'll need a leader to look to for guidance and for as cruel as you are you are also a good person with decent charisma." 'So you want me to go to Konoha just in case it gets destroyed so I can bring the people back together?" "Yep." "Me? An outsider?" "That's correct." "When do you want an answer?" "Now." "Goddammit Kurei!" "Please, just call me Tsuya." "AUGGHH! FIne! Tsuya! Just give me a minute to decide!" After a couple minutes Zabuza had finally decided. But first, "Before I answer, can you guarantee Haku's safety?" "Zabuza! You should be worried about your own safety." Haku said in a mixture of surprise and happiness. "While he is in the village yes, but while out on missions no. Also, I can't guarantee that he would let you in but as he has no bingo book entry I see no reason for Hiruzen to deny him entry." "I'll take it." "In that case, meet me in 1 week at the bridge. Kakashi will likely be there with me along with the bridge builder. The other 2 will be at the house defending it from Gato's goons. You're gonna have to work with Kakashi to stop me from killing you guys and the bridge builder." "What? Why?" "3 reasons. 1: I need to eliminate Gato and his men. 2: I need to let off some steam so I don't, how should I put it, give in to my blood lust at a bad time. And 3: It'll make Kakashi realize that I don't work well with others and pressure Hiruzen into making me a 1 man squad. Don't worry I'll be sealed still so I won't do too much damage. Oh and here's your sword." With that he disappeared into thin air. "How did he know Gato was gonna betray us? And why did you give in so easily to his requests?" Haku asked after Tsuya left. "As he once told me, the wind carries many secrets. And the other option we had was to die along with Gato." "Is he really that strong?" "If he wanted to, he could probably destroy an entire hidden village single handedly. If not, destroy the entire world." "That strong, huh?" "His strength isn't what's scary about him. It's his ability to control everyone like a pawn in his giant chess game that we call life." "What do you mean?" "He probably knew what our answers would be before he even asked his questions. But what I'm scared of is the fact that he's worried Konoha might fall." "Why's that?" "It means there's a threat looming around the corner that he isn't sure he can stop."

1 week later

When Tsuya returned without Zabuza's sword after the first night, Kakashi was terrified. After Tsuya had explained the deal he made with Zabuza, Kakashi was angry. Not only had Tsuya lied about what he was doing, which by itself wasn't that bad, but he also made a deal with an enemy that they couldn't trust and he effectively told them that the Hokage would grant them asylum within Konoha without asking. Kakashi didn't know about the plan to get Tsuya on a separate team or that Tsuya would likely turn his attention on them. However, he was still pretty upset with Tsuya. He eventually decided to just go with it as there was nothing he could really do. As far as training went, Sakura had mastered the tree climbing exercise pretty quickly but she couldn't hold it for long. So as another form of training to increase her chakra reserves she would hold the chakra at her feet for as long as possible. She also got to help Sasuke with the exercise to her delight. Sasuke hated the fact that he was getting help but accepted as it would help him grow quicker.

Tonight was the last night before the fateful day. Team 7 had sat down to have dinner with Tazuna and his daughter. Inari, who couldn't take it anymore, spoke his mind. "Why do you guys bother to try so hard? No matter how hard you train, you're still no match for Gato's men! No matter what glorious claims you make or how hard you work, when facing the strong, the weak will only end up getting killed! You don't know anything about this country, yet you're being so nosy! What the hell do you know about us! You don't know how hard life can be!" Everyone looked to stare at him. Tsuya spoke up, which could be either the worst or best possible option. "You say we don't know about your people or how hard life can really be? Yet you know nothing about us or what we've been through. Tell me what's the worst thing that's ever happened to you? You losing your dad who was like your best friend? Well guess what, while I can't speak for Sakura, I can tell you that everyone else here has had it worse. Your grandfather has had to suffer through the pain of losing another son and seeing you fall into a depression. Your mom lost her husband and has been forced to watch as your emotions fester into a ticking time bomb. I don't know what exactly happened to Kakashi, but whatever it was must have been pretty bad for him to spend hours everyday standing in front of a stone built to honor the fallen. Sasuke came home to one day find that every member of his clan was slain at the hands of his very own brother! I was abandoned by my parents when I was too young to even be able to walk! And then my adopted brother died before I met him and my father sacrificed his life to stop a war from happening! My mother nearly starved me to death in her depression and even after she had managed to get it together a little she still couldn't do much! And to top it all off a giant fox monster attacked our village just a couple weeks after my mother passed away! I became a soldier so I could give meaning to my life but before I could even do anything my best friend and only friend died! In my grief I lashed out and hurt the only living person whom I still considered to be family! And after that! I was basically kicked out of the village for a couple years to protect the very people I HAD VOWED TO PROTECT! SO JUST BECAUSE YOU'VE HAD A CRAPPY LIFE DOESN"T MEAN YOU HAVE TO SIT THERE AND WHINE ABOUT IT! HOW ABOUT YOU TRY GETTING OFF YOUR SORRY ASS AND FUCKING DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT!" "Tsuya! That's enough." Kakashi yelled. By this point Inari was crying and then ran out the room. "Look, Kakashi, I get it. I overdid it. But I refuse to let this coward sit here and yell at me about how hard life is when everyone here has had it worse. The least he could do is try and actually change things instead of sitting there crying about it. I'm going out. I need to clear my head. Don't worry I'll be back by morning. You should tell the others about the plan by the way." Tsuya said. Everyone was shocked. This was the first time they had seen any kind of real emotion from Tsuya. Everything else either seemed fake or he was emotionless. Then he just blew up. After several moments of silence Sasuke finally spoke up. "So about that plan he mentioned…" "Hmm? Ah, right. Well simply put. I need you and Sakura to stay here and protect the house from a bandit attack. It isn't anything you couldn't handle so you should be fine. There is also a chance that the hunter nin from before might join you. If she does, you should keep your eye on her. Just in case." Sasuke simply nodded.

Tsuya had gone out into the woods. Partly to clear his mind and partly to let his emotions fester. He knew it wasn't healthy but he needed to do it in order for his plans to come to fruition. He needed to let Kurei out but still maintain some semblance of control. He needed to go into a controlled rage of sorts and this was the only way.

The following morning

Tsuya arrived at the bridge with Tazuna and Kakashi. It was currently 6:50. If Zabuza and Haku didn't arrive within the next 10 minutes then they were to assume that Zabuza had betrayed them. They didn't have to wait long. Zabuza arrived with Haku at 7:00 on the dot. "I'm here so now what? Do we just wait?" Zabuza asked. "No, if Gato doesn't hear us fighting then he'll likely assume he's been betrayed. I would suggest you use your hidden mist jutsu and then we can have a spar of sorts. What do you think?" "I still don't think we can trust them. But this is your plan not mine." Kakashi said as he kept his eyes on Zabuza at all times. "I don't have a problem with it. What about you?" Zabuza asked Haku. "I don't see any problems with it." "Alright then. In that case I'll take Haku, I want to test my speed. Kakashi you take Zabuza. Please don't try to kill him." Kakashi nodded as he and Zabuza headed towards the other end of the bridge. Meanwhile, Tsuya made a shadow clone to stand by Tazuna in case any of Gato's goons tried to get the jump on them. Tsuya and Haku started stretching before they engaged. After a couple moments they both dashed towards each other. They traded blows a few times, Tsuya using a kunai and Haku using a senbon. At some point they got into a blade lock of sorts when haku started doing 1 handed hand seals. "Oh? I haven't seen that before." Tsuya said surprised. A large number of water needles formed out of the water around them and floated into the sky before they launched at Tsuya. Realizing that he couldn't just sit there, Tsuya jumped back from the blade lock, but he did it slowly so that he would be hit by a few of them. Haku was a little surprised that he was hit by them but quickly realized it was on purpose as he quickly dashed straight for Haku. He went straight past him before doing a quick 180 and throwing 3 kunai at him. Haku managed to dodge them but he couldn't dodge the kunai that Tsuya was holding while dashing straight for his chest. In a last ditch attempt to save himself he created a wall of ice. Realizing that he was completely outmatched in every category he decided to pull out his trump card. "Ice release: Demonic mirroring ice crystals." Tsuya didn't do anything to stop Haku as a dome of ice mirrors formed around him. Without wasting any time Haku started his assault. He would repeatedly swap from mirror to mirror while throwing senbon. He was doing this at light speed. However, to Tsuya this was child's play. That was until Sasuke got there. "How did you get here?" Tsuya asked while casually dodging hundreds of senbon. "Well we dealt with the grunts and I thought I would lend you a helping hand." Sasuke said with a hint of arrogance in his voice. However, it quickly disappeared as he was nearly riddled with senbon. Before he could receive a fatal injury, as he had simply run in blind, Tsuya shoved Sasuke out of the dome. "Before you jump into a situation you should take a look to see what's actually going on!" Tsuya said, annoyed. He took more hits than he was planning. He didn't expect Sasuke to jump in like that. 'Well it looks like I'm gonna have to end this sooner than planned.' Tsuya casually walked over to 1 of the mirrors and punched it so hard it instantly shattered. He simply walked out. "That's enough Haku. I've taken a sufficient amount of damage trying to save this dumbass. When I give the signal I want you to launch 3 senbons at me." "What signal?" "You'll know it when you see it." Meanwhile, Zabuza and Kakashi were having their little duel but it was clear that in his, slightly, weakened state Zabuza wasn't a match for Kakashi. After a few minutes Gato appeared with his army of thugs. "Zabuza, Kakashi. I suggest you get back." Tsuya said in a serious tone before he pulled out a solid black mask with a qhite fox design on it and slipped it on when he was suddenly struck in the back by 3 senbon. 'It seems Haku got the signal. Now then, come on out, Kurei!' Tsuya yelled in his mind. A sudden wave of thick bloodlust exploded out of Tsuya's body as a wicked laugh escaped his mouth. "Hahahaha hahaha ha! Yes! This is where the fun begins!" Tsuya, no, Kurei said in his high pitched, demented voice, very different from Tsuya's calm and steady voice.

For the first time in years, Kurei was free to do whatever he wanted. He saw the crowd of thugs and immediately summoned 2 pitch black swords, 1 in each hand. He slightly levitated off the ground and dashed toward the crowd. He sliced through the crowd, blood went flying through the air as organs and bodies fell all over the ground. Some were sliced cleanly in half while others were still attached and bled out on the ground, their guts and intestines spilling out. Some lost limbs only to later be impaled by a sword and cut apart. Gato simply watched on in fear. There was nothing he could do. He was too fast for him to run away, too strong for his men to take down, and too crazy for a bribe to work. There was nothing he could do. He fell onto his butt and slowly crawled back in terror. When Tsuya's gaze landed on him he literally pissed his pants. He tried to run away but it was much too late. Tsuya dashed over to Gato and swiftly de-limbed him. At this point he was a torso with a head, though not for long. Over the course of the next several seconds he was torn apart, pounded, sliced to ribbons. You couldn't even tell that it used to be a living thing. Kurei stood up, surrounded by corpses, blood and organs, with a sigh of satisfaction. His head limply looked toward his side to see the others. At that moment, Zabuza saw it. The Crimson Mist had rolled in

A/N

So. I realized that I kinda blasted through the Wave arc, sorry, but now Kurei is here. I think starting next chapter I'm gonna slow the pace down a little bit so I can spend more time on the actual characters rather than blasting my way through the plot. Speaking of, after the chunin exams the plot will really start to diverge from regular Naruto. To the point where I might not even have a Sasuke retrieval arc. Anyways. I also noticed that I never really talked about Kurei, but I'll go into that next chapter. Anyways, the next chapter will start with a fight, short fight, with Kurei, then the journey home, a talk with the Hokage, training, character development, and likely the start of the chunin exams. At the very least the announcement and registration forms will be given out. Until next time.

Sincerely,

The fucking author
