Disclaimer : I do not own any characters or the story of Naruto or Boruto.

A/N : Once again, thanks for all the lovely positive reviews I've received so far. I did not expect for all of them to be so encouraging, so here I am with another update. For this chapter, I have a handy guide below for the readers to not get confused with who is referred to since there are multiple versions of the same character. I have tried my best to make it as clear as possible. If it isn't in any part of the chapter, then please let me know in the reviews. That's all, please read and review if you enjoy. Thanks!

Sasuke - Alternate timeline version

Chapter 3

Hinata realised that the man, glancing at her sideways, had addressed his question towards her. She understood the individual words but for the life of her, she couldn't figure out what the meaning behind them was. "A-Ano.. I-I.. eh..", she stammered her way through the only words that formed on her tongue. She wondered if this was in a dream. Witnessing a man, that for all practical purposes was Sasuke, speaking to her so informally, in such a harsh tone, was something she had never experienced before. Her eyes, self-consciously, averted sideways as an embarrassed blush creeped its way up to her cheeks.

Naruto's eyes flickered to his wife as he heard her stammering voice. He saw the dejected, shy look on her face and was snapped out of his shock. His eyes narrowed at the intruder standing in the middle of the room, as if he owned the place. He ground his teeth as he spat out, "Who the hell do you think you are? Barging into my home and being rude to my wife?!" He was the Hokage, dammit! No one got away with disrespecting and threatening his home, not even alternate versions of his best friend from another timeline.

Sasuke felt his eyebrows draw in closer in a slight frown at Naruto's accusation. One phrase stood out to him out of all the pointless ramblings of the blond. He quietly surveyed the woman behind him for a second and then turned to look at the man addressing him with his barely restrained fury as he glowed golden. "Your.. wife?", he asked back. At last, his eyes settled on the silently brooding man clad in a full length black cloak, his namesake, who seemed to be frozen in shock. A couple of seconds later, understanding finally dawned on him and his frown disappeared. He felt a sly, arrogant smirk touch his lips as his own eyes shone with amusement. "So you fucked up", he taunted, looking pointedly into the eyes that were exactly like his own. If he was anybody else but himself, he would have laughed out loud when Sasuke instinctively stumbled a step back at his words. This version of him seemed to be nowhere near as self assured as he felt and his smirk widened a bit at this realisation.

Naruto watched the two Sasukes in front of him interact with open curiosity. They both looked so similar and yet their behaviors were so different, specially around each other. When he saw Sasuke take a step back, uncertainty clouding his face at the teasing, he had had enough. He wanted nothing more than to wipe that arrogant smirk right off the other bastard's face, but he still had enough sense to understand that this was a delicate situation. He could sense the tensed buzzing chakra of all the ANBU around the house, who had undoubtedly noticed the intrusion by now. They were trained well enough not to barge into the situation without explicit orders from their Hokage, however if a full-on fight does start among the men in the room, they wouldn't hesitate to jump right in. That would be a complete disaster in this enclosed space, specially with Hinata, standing still, so close to the offender.

Naruto summoned the last bits of patience in his being and braced himself to try a more diplomatic approach in dealing with the situation at hand. "You are the one invading my village, my home. What business do you have threatening my people?" Naruto accused. He saw the dark eyes which were shining with mirth a second ago, turn towards him as all sense of amusement vanished, instead they hardened into a threatening glare. He felt the hair on the back of his neck rise as an involuntary shiver passed through his frame. He recognised that look in those eyes despite it being a long time ago when he had last witnessed it. Nevertheless, Naruto, not one to be underestimated, glared right back in his righteous indignation. He readied himself for any possible attacks this man could foolishly undertake in an unknown environment.

"That is hardly more offensive than what you are doing, keeping my daughter imprisoned here", Sasuke argued back. The look of panic on Mikato's face, when he got his first look at her, hadn't gone unnoticed by him. The only redeeming fact that was preventing him from snapping the necks of everyone in the vicinity, was that she looked completely unharmed, albeit quite shaken. Sasuke kept his voice level as he made his further accusations know. "I am sure she didn't get here voluntarily."

Naruto was taken aback hearing this and inwardly recoiled. It was true, he couldn't deny it. Sasuke had knocked her out, Kami knows where, in order to bring her to Konoha. He didn't think anything of it at that time but now hearing it so bluntly from her guardian raised his anxiety levels up a notch. He suppressed all feelings of guilt in his being as he started to defend himself and his comrades. "Mikato isn't a prisoner here, I would never do that to a child. She is in my home out of her own free will. She was invited in at her own request." The pointed glare that Sasuke was levelling at him didn't soften even a bit at his explanation. Instead he spoke up again in his signature monotone, "Do you take everyone to be as foolish as you? This place is crawling with ANBU at every corner."

The blond Hokage felt his blood pressure rise as the veins at his temples started to throb at this directed insult of his intelligence. He could feel the last ropes of his patience wearing thin as he made an attempt to ignore that remark and focused on the issue at hand. "The ANBU are here to protect my people from exactly the kind of situation you created when you appeared out of nowhere dishing out idle threats, disrespecting my home, my family", he defended in a low pitch tone in his gravely voice to indicated his seriousness. He knew he had the moral high ground here. He was the Hokage of this villlage and he would take every measure to ensure the security and safety of his people.

Hearing this, Sasuke's face relaxed into a blank look as he scanned Naruto's eyes for any signs of deception and finding none. Satisfied, he spoke once again but this time without the hard-edge laced in his voice. "You can relax. I have already stated my purpose for being here. I am no threat to your village or..", he inclined his head slightly, glancing out of the corner of his eyes at Hinata for a beat, before facing straight ahead, "..your family. My concerns are only my daughter. I intend to leave with her", he finished. Understanding the concession for what it was, a truce of sorts, Naruto decided to extend some leeway as well. 'Anything to end this mess', he thought as he deactivated his Kyuubi Mode, the golden glow around him fading away. "Then you should leave", he replied, ending the tense impasse.

Sasuke nodded once and turned towards his daughter, taking her hand in his. "Ikuzo, Mikato", he stated and received a soft "Hai" back. He pumped chakra into his Rinnegan and was about to open a portal through time and space to take then back to his original timeline when he heard a firm "Wait" in his own voice, coming from behind him. He stopped the technique but didn't turn around. As he didn't hear any further explanation for this interruption, after waiting a few moments, he turned his head to look at the man who had stopped him. The mix of tumultuous raw emotions he saw reflected back at him in the eyes very much like his own, gave him pause. He knew what those eyes were trying to say to him silently. He couldn't deny it, there was a time when he had the same look in his own eyes, pleading and desperate. He watched as those eyes turned to glance at the woman behind him, full of deep longing, and then turn towards him again brimming with pain and desperation. Finally, he closed his own eyes briefly and let out a deep sigh. 'I can't believe I am about to do this', he thought as he turn back around facing away from the other version of himself.

Sasuke knew this was it. This was the only chance he was going to get. He had been silent throughout the whole exchange, unable to speak or think, the torrent of emotions clouding every thought in his mind. But he couldn't let this opportunity pass him by so he had decided to interrupt the pair from starting their journey back home. 'I need to know', he said to himself inwardly, hoping his plea would reach the man facing away from him without the need for words. Words had failed him so far, at this point he couldn't risk letting any out with the present company. The earlier excitement of having his darkest secret nearly out, to the one person that he didn't want it known to, when he was shamelessly mocked on the deepest regret of his life by the other man, was enough for him. The alternate version of himself had been right then. He knew he had fucked up. 'Kami, do I know how bad I fucked up..', he had thought. But for once, he was willing to put his pride as a man aside. 'Only for her', he realised. He heard Sasuke speak up addressing his silent request, without turning to look at him, "Don't get left behind." With that, he watched as another portal opened up, ripping the fabric of space with the father and daughter duo jumping into it hand in hand. He swiftly jumped in, following the pair, before the portal closed back up, leaving behind only the relieved Hokage and his wife, along with all the also-relieved ANBU, in the house.

Hinata turned her eyes to her husband and asked gently, "I don't want to get involved.. but will Sasuke-kun be alright?" Naruto recognised the look of genuine concern in his wife's eyes and gave her a small smile. 'If only you knew just how involved you already are in this', he thought warily. He decided it would be best to have her not worry about it, so he distracted her. "Don't worry, Hinata-chan. Sasuke-teme can take care of himself. He just needed to make sure there won't be anymore threats to our security like this", he explained the excuse on behalf of the Uchiha. He didn't have to even look at his best friend to know exactly why the man had decided to follow the pair to the unknown world. A thought occurred to him and he gave her his best cheery smile. "What do you say to spending the day with me and the kids, Hinata-chan? I'll ask the ANBU to escort them back here and then we could go somewhere", he suggested. Hinata frowned at this and asked, "Are you sure Naruto-kun? Wouldn't we be keeping you from work?" "I'll make some time, don't worry. I want to spend my day with my wonderful family", Naruto assured her. Happy with this answer, Hinata nodded and made her way to the kitchen to start on lunch with a matching cheery smile on her face.

Sasuke scrutinized his surroundings carefully to determine where in Konoha he was taken to. He knew he was in Konoha the second he stepped into solid ground after existing the portal since the first thing he had noticed were the iconic mountains which shaded the village on one edge with the faces of all Hokages carved into it. He was pleased to note that the last face was of his best friend. It didn't take him long to realise that he was in what seemed to be the once abandoned Uchiha district, close to the gates. If that massive entrance made of stone with the Uchiha fan painted on were in fact the gates to the Uchiha district. But the place looked nothing like what he remembered it to be in his own world when he had last seen it after the war. The place didn't look abandoned at all, as he noticed rows of houses lined along the streets, as people he didn't recognise walked by and the sound of children's laughter filled his ears. The Uchiha symbol was proudly adorned on every free surface or wall it seemed, while cheery smiles adorned the faces of the few people we could see coming in and out of the district.

His attention was diverted to the father and daughter duo, standing a few steps away from him facing each other, as he realised he was intruding on one of their parental disciplinary sessions. Mikato had a crestfallen look on her face as she stared at the ground patiently waiting for the admonishment that was to come as her father stood in front of her, looking at her with a stern gaze, with his arms crossed at his chest. "You know better than to go skipping through timelines without letting someone know first, Mikato", he heard the father scold his daughter. "Hai, gomen Otou-sama", came the meek reply from the girl. She looked up at her father, eyes shining with unshed tears, pleading for forgiveness, as she promised, "It won't happen again." Looking at her innocent, sad face, the father's own expression softened as he said, "Okaa-san was worried when you didn't come home last night. Make sure to see her first." Sensing the scolding had come to an end, Mikato smiled up at him and nodded in agreement. She bowed to him and said, "Arigatou, Otou-sama. I'll see you at dinner", as soon as she straightened her frame. She turned around and got ready to make her way back home when she was stopped by her father's stern voice calling her name.

"Make sure, the next time you find yourself in a timeline where I don't recognise you, to not stick around for me to find you. If you don't have enough chakra to get back home then find a dimension closeby and wait for me there", he advised his daughter and turned to level a pointed look at the other version of himself. Sasuke held his gaze with a straight face to make it known that the implication of him being a danger to his own daughter, albeit from a different timeline, didn't bother him in the least. Not caring what's up with the two versions of her father, Mikato exclaimed a loud "Hai!" and leapt up to the nearest roof, quickly making her way homewards.

Sasuke took this as his cue to satiate his curiosities that he had suffered suppressing since last night. However, before he could voice his questions at the tip of his tongue, he saw the other man clasp his hands together behind his back and starting to wander off. He quickly flickered off from his position and materialized beside him, starting to walk, matching the other man's slow pace. He saw many unfamiliar faces walking by without batting an eye at the sight of two Sasukes, casually taking a stroll through the district, as they went on their merry way.

"What happened here?" he couldn't help but ask the question that immediately came to mind. He curiously looked around himself as the view changed from rows of houses to what looked like a decent sized market place quite a ways into the district. "Hinata happened", came the simple reply to his enquiry. He looked at the man walking beside him with a slight frown on his face at that cryptic answer. The other man sighed and started a more detailed explanation to the question he had asked.

"I had the Uchiha district rebuilt after she agreed to marry me. Most of the houses you see here were built with funds from Konoha. The people living here were refugees of the Fourth Shinobi War. Some orphaned, some lost their homes, some civilian families, some shinobi. They used to live in the outskirts of the village in refugee camps. She used to volunteer there in the medical camps. I invited them to move into the district, giving them permanent homes, in exchange for their loyalty to the clan. It was my wedding present to her." His lips curved up into a small smile as he finished explaining the new look to the district. "Every man, woman and child swore their loyalty to my family as they were initiated into the clan shortly after our marriage. I trust these people around my children, they wouldn't hesitate to give their lives to protect them", he finished his thought.

Sasuke was taken aback by this. He himself had never considered rebuilding the Uchiha district, let alone allowing other people to not only live there but also be a part of his clan. His own family lived in a mortgaged house close to the hospital in the village while the Uchiha district laid in ruins in his own world. He recognised the ingenuity of the decisions that the Uchiha had taken in this world, as the head of his clan. He had too wanted to restore his clan to its former prestige and glory at one point in his life. It could hardly have been done without numbers. One family hardly makes a clan, this way the Uchiha gained many loyal members of the clan as well as goodwill far beyond the borders of the village for opening their doors for people who suffered in the war. He couldn't help but admire the cunning of the man beside him. However, he was sure, the humanitarian aspect of the decision came only into consideration concerning a certain woman's happiness. One thing was clear, Sasuke of this world was a better man with his wife beside him.

Sasuke was so deep in his thoughts that he didn't realise where they were until he saw that the man had stopped walking and was looking at something to the side. He stopped as well, turning towards that direction to find out what had caught the other man's attention and saw a large memorial stone with names etched onto it, similar to the Konoha war memorial at the center of the burial grounds, although smaller in size. The memorial was surrounded by a small colorful garden as the flowers in bloom were swung gently by the breeze. Sasuke's eyes quickly spied Itachi's name etched on the memorial, written in bold letters, as he felt his chest tighten and his heartbeat quicken. "It's the Uchiha memorial. For the fallen members of the clan", the other man informed him. Both of them stood there for a moment as Sasuke memorized the view in front of him. Shortly after one of them started walking ahead and the other one silently followed behind.

It wasn't long before the two had reached a large traditional wooden house with large paintings of the Uchiha fan hanging from the roofs on both sides of the front of the house. It was the tallest house that Sasuke had seen so far and the significance of that wasn't lost on him as he realised where they had made their way to. The owner of the house didn't pause a beat as he silently entered the house, gesturing to his guest from a different timeline to enter as well. They took off their shoes at the threshold of the building as soft steps made it's way towards them. Sasuke announced their presence by letting out a "Tadaima" as a familiar voice gently called out, "Okaeri", with a figure turning around the corner of the corridor, appearing in front of them.

Sasuke stared hard at the scene before him and felt his drumming heart start beating at speeds he never imagined possible as his breathing quickened turning into short quiet gasps. He felt a cold sweat break out on his forehead as if all his blood had rushed to his head, making him lightheaded. His hands started off with a slight shake as a tremor passed through him. His mind completely blanked out as if he was in a drug-induced dream. 'This had to be a dream, right?', he wondered to himself. In fact, he had dreamt of this exact same picture in front of him in his mind's eye many times before. Later, he had squashed those dreams mercilessly, unable to bear the pain those images would induce in his heart. Now, that very same enthralling image was lulling him gentle into a daze. His eyes roamed over the figure in front of him in a desperate attempt to permanently capture the view she afforded in his memory. He started meticulously noting down every feature, very characteristic that he eyes could see in his mind.

The foremost observation was that she wasn't alone. She held a child, a boy, maybe 4 or 5 years of age, in her arms, who was taking turns staring at the two men in front of him one after the other, obviously confused. The boy looked exactly like he himself looked in the few pictures he had of his family from before the massacre. The same eyes, the same dark spiky hair and the same soft feminine features. The boy had one of his tiny hands behind her head, in her hair, while the other was clutching tightly to the collars of her deep purple kimino. The kimino, he noticed, was also adorned with the Uchiha fan on the tops of both sleeves as the fabric wrapped around her erotically full, lush curves and her long midnight blue hair softly brushed around her sides at her hips. Her mesmerizing pale eyes held that ethereal quality to it which was the first thing about her that he had fallen in love with, as she looked up at him with wonder and tamed curiosity. However, the most enticing feature of her physical characteristics that he couldn't avert his eyes from, to stare at something else, was her middle, swollen with child.

He had never been witness to a pregnant Hinata before. He had been out of the village each time, not trusting himself with the image he had buried in his mind come to life in flesh and blood in front of his eyes. Now, having that picture painted right in front of him pumped fire into his veins as he felt the coils of desire awaken his very soul. 'She looks like she belongs to me', the thought crossed over and over in his mind, dwarfing any other rational reminders of her being wife to the man standing right next to him. Those thoughts hardly mattered to him, while in his daze, as he desperately tried to stop his trembling hands from reaching out to touch her to make sure she was real. That she was indeed Uchiha Hinata standing in front of him. To test the reality of Hinata, didn't matter which world she belonged to, where she had indeed accepted his name as her own, had held love for him in her heart and had borne his children.

Realising the daze the other man had worked himself into and the question in his wife's eyes regarding their newly arrived guest, Sasuke cleared his throat and spoke just as Hinata lowered their son from her arms to stand beside her. "He is from the other timeline where I brought Mikato back from." Understanding dawned on both mother and son as she turned her eyes back to her guest with a kind smile while her son promptly hid himself behind his mother, peeking out staring at the man that, he was old enough to realise, was a stranger. "Welcome to the Uchiha manor, Uchiha-san. I hope you will stay for lunch", she kindly offered.

Hearing her address him so, quickly snapped Sasuke out of his daze as he stared blankly at her and felt his head move, nodding, to answer her invitation. He felt tongue-tied yet again, as words failed him. Content with his acceptance, her smile widened and he watched as she glanced at her husband before making her way into the house with her son in tow. The other man walked into the house shortly after, gesturing for him to follow. So he did, still shaking off the last tendrils of the stupor he was in just a few minutes ago.

Sasuke led him into what seemed like an office or study with a large desk on one side of the room, with different documents and scrolls lying on it disorderly, and shelves lined the walls on either side of it, overflowing with books, papers and even more scrolls. Looking around the room, his eyes found a medium-sized frame hanging on one of the walls with what looked like a photo of the family his younger self had longed for. He walked closer to it, stopping in front of the picture to carefully sort through the faces.

The first face his eyes zoomed into was the woman sitting in the middle, her family gathered around her. Her dark blue tresses and light lilac eyes stood out in the frame as unique features, shared by none of the other faces in the frame. Indeed, her whole being stood out in the frame as even a picture relayed to the viewer the calm soothing aura she held in person. She held a warm smile on her face as she looked with her kind eyes right into the camera. She had an toddler sitting on her lap which he instantly recognised as the same little boy he had met for the first time not too long ago. On her right, stood a younger Mikato, smiling at the camera as well, leaning slightly towards her mother. On her left, stood another boy, perhaps a few years younger than Mikato, with the same dark eyes and dark hair the rest of the family shared, as he too stared at the camera with a dark, sombre expression which did not belong on the face of a child his age. Behind her, stood the head of the family with his head held high and his arms crossed in front of him, looking every bit the proud head of the Uchiha clan. On either side of the Uchiha patriarch, stood two twin teenage boys who had clearly inherited their facial features as well as their pointed stares from their father. He noticed that all older children were wearing their shinobi gear in the picture, the look of child-like innocence absent in their eyes. 'So none of them inherited the Hyuuga eyes', he realised. He turned around as he heard the man in the picture clear his throat behind him and took the seat he was offered at the desk.

"I am sure you have questions", started the man, keeping a straight face as he looked at Sasuke. "None of them have eyes like hers", the question behind the words were implied. An arrogant smirk found its way to the man's lips as he answered, "Hn. Don't know what father would have thought about having grandchildren with Hyuuga eyes." A twin smirk reached his lips as well at that thought. No, his father would have definitely disapproved, had he been alive to see them. "Or pink hair", the words passed his lips before he could stop them. He saw the man visibly cringe at that comment as he heard a quiet "Sakura" muttered under his breath. Unwilling to allow the conversation to get diverted to the family that he did not wish to discuss, he scanned through his mind to look for an opportunity to divert the man's attention to the family he wanted to know everything about. A moment later a small frown marred his brow as the question popped into his head as he asked, "What's the Tenketsu Sharingan?" He saw as a scowl quickly formed on the man's face, replacing the grimace, indicating his disapproval of the term, before replying, "That's just what Kakashi called their Sharingan when he started documenting the histories of the Uchiha and the Sharingan again. I see, he is teaching them his made-up nonsense." "It looked different from the Sharingan to me", he supplied in begrudging defense of his former sensei. The man looked beyond annoyed at that when he argued back, "It is the Sharingan. A stronger, more powerful Sharingan from having chakra directly pumped through the veins into the eyes, similar to the Byakugan. They had similar emotionally charged experiences unlocking each levels of their Sharingan, my eldest son has unlocked his Mangekyo Sharingan as well. The only difference seems to be that along with the powers of the Sharingan you and me have, they each have one of the powers of my Rinnegan as well." The man's scowl had disappeared as his eyes shone with pride detailing the achievements of his children.

When the last part of the explanation registered in his mind, Sasuke found himself confused and curious. How could it be? Sharingan eyes with the powers of the Rinnegan? Seeing the question in his eyes, the man sighed and explained further in a bored tone, "Ichigo, the eldest twin, is able to channel the Preta Path, while Hayato, his brother, can use my Amenotejikara jutsu. Mikato has the ability to detect and create rips in reality itself and Shirin is already able to use the Absorption Soul technique." Sasuke noticed that the last bit of explanation was not a subject of pride for the man, as his face blanked out any expression while relaying that information to him. At his own disbelieving look, the man continued, "We don't know why either. Perhaps it is because they inherited both the Sage of the Six Paths' and Sage of the Moon's chakra. Or maybe they inherited it from my Rinnegan. I could care less, it's Kakashi's burden to bear now."

Realising this was all he was going to manage getting out of the man on this topic, he decided to drop the subject even though his curiosity was peaked. 'The details are hardly important', he thought as he carefully sifted through his mind for the other questions he had collected last night. Thinking about it all for a while, taking his time, he realised he didn't really care about the mundane details of the lives of the people in this world. It hardly affected him. There were a couple of questions though that he just had to have answered and he didn't wish to risk it by reaching the ends of this man's considerably limited patience before he had the chance to ask. As he braced himself to ask the first of the two questions that mattered to him deeply, personally, he felt his heart start once again its quick pace and nervous tension grip his frame. He looked pointedly at the man, his eyes determined as he asked, "When?"

Sasuke understood exactly what the man in front of him wanted to know. He couldn't blame the guy either. If he were in the same position as the other version of himself, this question would have also crossed his mind. He smirked at him in self-assured satisfaction as he answered the question. "I started pursuing her not very long after the war. Less than a year later she had agreed to marry me." The man listening intently to his answer widened his eyes as clear shock registered in his face. Confusion furrowed his brows next as he tried to process the words that were said. He watched as the man was unable to make sense of his words and levelled a hardened glare at him. "How is that possible? Naruto..", the man asked. He understood the unfinished question well, he didn't need to hear the rest of it to answer.

"I know. Naruto had everything to offer her. I had practically nothing left. But there was one thing that Naruto never had," he paused for a brief moment thinking back, closing his eyes, to the time when he was still debating with himself whether to let her be or force his way into her life and the look on her face which sealed his decision as well as their fates, flashed before his eyes. He quickly opened his eyes and finished his thought, "The intent to make her mine and that's all that mattered at the end."

Sasuke only felt his desperate confusion deepen at that vague answer. But he wasn't about to let this one go. He took in a deep breath and let it out slowly, taking a couple of seconds to prepare himself to ask the one question in his mind, the answer to which could, arguably, be the second most profound revelation in his life. The truth about Itachi will always be the first as far as he was concerned. He knew whatever answer he would get, the heartbreak and anguish he would feel after would be unbearable. Bracing himself for just that, he wondered if knowing was even worth it. 'Yes, it's worth the pain', he realised quite quickly. Steeling his heart, he began, " But.. How.." and quickly stopped when he heard how uncertain his voice sounded.

At the further questioning, he saw, for the first time, humility reflected in the arrogant man's eyes. That surprised him even further, his mind racing to figure out just what had happened for this alternation in personality. He watched as Sasuke's eyes turned to stare at the family portrait hanging at the back wall of room as he seemed to be in deep thought. A few moments passed by, as he waited patiently for the explanation he had asked for. A guilty look quickly flickered through the man's face as he averted his eyes from the picture of his family to look out the window, his face turning back to the signature blankness momentarily. The change in expression had happened so fast that for a moment he wondered if he had imagined it. "What did you do?" he heard himself ask, as the man turned his eyes back at him, looking somber.

"I stole her. Everything she had, I took it for myself."

A/N : Moving swiftly along to some questions : A couple of reviewers were wondering how this story is canon compliant as well as SasuHina fic. Well, that's what the alternate timeline is for. As for some SasuHina moments, we will some interesting scenes with the couple in the next chapter hopefully. Another reviewer, zesaidwut, asked why Sasuke seems to be so controlled. Well, I am following the personalities of each characters based on Naruto as well as Boruto anime versions. Adult Sasuke in Boruto always seemed passive to me. I am also trying to explain (to the best of abilities) why that is. I hope the contrast between the two versions of Sasuke is highlighted in this chapter. Special mention to reviewer bloodberrylicious, thanks for a more detailed review. Yes, both friends are crappy fathers however only Naruto has a good explanation for it in canon, imo. This will be my attempt to explain Sasuke's side as well.

So, that's it. Thanks again and see you next time!
