24: Cardmaster Shopkeeper in DxD
Fanfic
Man gets inserted into DxD with a shop system based around the basics: 1. Run the Shop, 2. Stock the Shop, and 3. Defend the Shop. He was a retail manager in his first life and he is now an immortal High Human with no food requirements, so he has the first down, but the shop system provides him with a deck of cards for the second and third.
The way the system works is that, every so often ((tier*week) or on achievements) he can draw a card from the deck. The cards are sorted into three classes (Mage, Warrior, and Rogue), three tiers, and three categories (Offensive, Defensive, and Crafting). In order to have a card equipped, you must 1. Have the necessary levels (50 for tier 1, 100 for tier 2, and 250 for tier 3. Total number of cards used at once capped by highest level [150 means three tier ones or one one and one two]), 2. Have the necessary stats (varies), and 3. Have the card. Cards can, however, be mastered.
Mastery requires three levels; Fame, Perfection, and Feat. Fame is how well-know you are for the skill or how well-known your performance in it is; Perfection is based on practice; and Feat is based on what you have done with it. Mastering the card gives you the ability to always keep it equipped at ΒΌ strength, and the ability to gift the card to another person (for a cost. It IS a store, after all.). If the person it is given to masters it, he gets a 5% bump in inactive strength of the card (up to 100%).
Using this system, he spends 20 years building his shop and setting it up, mastering cards, growing his level, and building a stock and store defenses. When the story starts, he has mastered all of tier one, most of tier two, and some of tier three; this, however is when HIS story starts. Cannon won't be for a while yet. After all, the first meeting the supernatural have in his store is when the Three Factions meet to discuss a real ceasefire at the end of the Devil Civil War!
