** Author's Notes: This is my very first FanFiction, so please give some feedback. I also am writing this after creating 5 different chapters, mainly because I didn't know how these worked. Please give feedback for how I did for my first chapter, and I can possibly improve if I make another FanFiction in the future. Now, enjoy the first chapter!**

Ino was on her way to the flower shop to help her parents before practicing for the Genin exams, but before she got to the flower shop, she managed to catch a glimpse of another blonde-haired academy student running across the roofs of the building. While she was curious, she pushed the thought aside and continued to walk back to her flower shop, thinking that Naruto just pulled a prank. However, that couldn't be further from the truth.

Naruto was desperately trying to run from a mob of Genin and Chunin who spotted him. He tried to reason, but when they started to flat out attack him, he had no other choice than to run to the Hokage tower. When he got to the entrance gate of the Hokage tower, the Chunin guarding the gates saw Naruto and hurriedly let them in. Izumo and Kotetsu were one of the only guards that didn't disrespect Naruto for what he held inside him.

Once through the gates, he hurriedly rushed to the 3rd Hokage's room, slamming the door open and quickly closed it shut.

"Hokage-jiji, another mob of shinobi attacked me!" Naruto said, panting for breath along the way.

"Naruto-kun, did they hurt you?" Hiruzen asked. Naruto shakily shook his head. Hiruzen sighed. Honestly, the professor would love to just get rid of the hateful villagers, make sure that they understood that Naruto wasn't the Kyuubi. However, for the shinobi, this shouldn't be expected of them. After all, those who are a shinobi should know the difference between the kunai and the seal the kunai is in.

"Hokage-jiji, why does this always happen to me?" Naruto asked. "And before you say 'I don't know' I have the sneaking suspicion you do, but you don't want to tell me for some reason." Naruto sounded annoyed at that point. Hiruzen sighed once again.

"I guess it is about that time that I tell you. Listen Naruto-kun and listen well." Hiruzen said looking seriously at Naruto, which Naruto went into his serious mode as well. "You know about the Kyuubi attack 12 years ago, right?" Naruto nodded. "Well, can you tell me what you know? I will fix any inconsistencies."

Naruto was confused, but he did as asked. "The Kyuubi was a powerful being that was taken down by the Yondaime Hokage… However, now that I think about it, there was no mention of how he defeated the being." Naruto added, really confused at this point. He thought that he knew everything about the fight, but thinking back on the entire story about the Yondaime vs. Kyuubi fight, he never knew what ended the fight.

"Naruto, you actually got really close to solving out your predicament already. You are just missing out on one key factor. That one factor is something I don't think you ever saw before, at least not yet. Do you mind lifting up your shirt and channel chakra?" Hiruzen finally asked. Now Naruto is starting to get a small picture, but doesn't understand what's going on. He reluctantly agreed, lifting up his shirt and channeling chakra, causing him to see an extremely complex seal form. "Naruto, that is a seal that the Kyuubi is in. Before you ask if you are the Kyuubi itself, no. You aren't the Kyuubi.

The reason you are treated as such is because people cannot see past their hatred for the Kyuubi to see a young and innocent boy. You may not be the Kyuubi, but that's what the villagers think. Now, I wasn't going to tell you about this until you graduated and became a Genin, but because you are so close to graduating already, and the fact that you just got attacked by Genin and Chunin, I had no choice but to tell you."

Naruto didn't know what to think. For all his life, he wanted to know why he was treated so poorly. Why he didn't have a family. But now that brings up another question. "I'm guessing the 4th Hokage sealed the Kyuubi inside of me to protect the village, but why me? Is it because I wasn't special in any way?"

"NO!" Hiruzen almost yelled when Naruto asked that question. He then attempted to clear his throat. "No, Naruto. The Yondaime didn't seal the Kyuubi inside of you because you weren't special. In fact, to him, you were one of the most precious things."

"But… why? If I was that special, then why seal Kyuubi inside me?"

"Because, Naruto-kun, he trusted that you would be able to control it's power. The Nine-Tails is one of the most powerful Bijuu in the world, if not the strongest. Each Bijuu has it's own benefits for its Jinchuuriki. I won't go in-depth right now, but later on down the road, I will give you more information. After all, I don't want information leaking out before you are strong enough to defend yourself." Hiruzen sighed in relief when Naruto nodded.

"Alright Hokage-jiji, just one more question and then I'm good." Naruto stated confidently, having a good idea what the answer is.

"What is it Naruto-kun?"

"Is my heritage one of those things that I have to get stronger to find out? 'Cause if it is, and based on this conversation, I would say I have a good guess as to who my father is." Naruto stated smugly. Hiruzen sighed. "I believe that you gave me everything I needed to know about my father, but why? Why did you hide… OH! Now I understand… Dad made a lot of enemies in the 3rd Great Shinobi War, especially with Iwa. If word got out that I was his son… then no matter if I was treated decently here, I would always be hunted by assassins, trying to constantly kill me for being the Yondaime's son, right?"

To say Hiruzen was shocked was an understatement. Naruto had just analyzed everything about what he was saying, memorized something that was said he never did well in (Naruto's test score in history was abysmal), and he even put two and two together to make an accurate guess. Now he needed to see how he really is ranked against his classmates. "Naruto-kun, you just made an extremely accurate guess… Why are your grades so low, then?" Hiruzen asked, to which Naruto shrugged.

"Honestly, I don't really care too much about that. To be honest, I feel like I'm more of a 'hands-on' learner, rather than a bookworm. I tend to learn things the way of trial and error." Naruto stated. " that isn't to say that I don't read though. I will read when needed, or when I have some free time."

" Naruto-kun, do you mind if we go and give you an IQ test? I want you to try your hardest on it, okay?"

"I guess, Hokage-jiji. I'll try as best I can if you want me to."
