Omake 1: Team Assignments.

**Author's Notes: So, we are on the first Omake of the story! This is just going to go over all the other teams' assignments, and allows us to see what happened to each team to shape them up. We will get more of these, probably every 10-20 chapters. I just wanted to make this one real quick to give more context for other teams.

For my Omakes, (at least for this story) I will be using the Omakes to focus more on the characters that haven't been getting much spotlight in the story. However, I'm going to try to do a bit better on this, that way I won't have to rely on Omakes to make sure every character is up to date.

Also, for this I WILL be going through Team 8 and 10, but I will NOT be going through the actual test, just the introductions, seeing how the Omake is going to be extremely long already.

With that said, lets begin the first Omake!**

With Team 8

Sakura, Kiba, and Choji were waiting for their teacher to appear. Kiba and Choji were talking, getting along with each other, but Sakura was just fawning over her 'Sasuke-kun'. Luckily for Kiba and Choji, and funny enough Sasuke, Team 8's Jonin instructor came through the door, followed closely by Team 10's sensei. "Alright Team 8, follow me." Kurenai said, and the entire team followed, with Sakura giving a sad sigh that she didn't get to be on Sasuke's team.

Once they got to training ground 8, they each sat down on the grass. Kiba and Choji sat relatively close, and were talking fairly frequently on the way over to the training ground. However, when it came to Sakura, Kurenai was worried on how far she was as a legitimate Kunoichi. She would hit Kiba for being too loud, fawn over her Sasuke, and not train unless it was required of her to do so. Kurenai sighed.

"Alright, let's get to know each other. I'll go first, just to show how it's done. My name is Kurenai Yuhi. I like Genjutsu, plants in general, and gardening. I dislike perverts, rapists, and those who don't treat others properly. My hobbies are gardening, working with students to become the best they can be, and hanging around with the other Jonin when off duty. How about you go next?" She asked, pointing to Shino.

"My name's Shino Aburame. I like bugs. I dislike those who harm bugs, and those who can't tell the difference between a human and a bug. My hobbies are researching bugs, finding bugs, and finding logical solutions for any scenario." Shino finished.

'Does he really only think about bugs?' Sakura and Kiba were thinking at the same time.

"Alright, you next pinky." Kurenai said to Sakura, who glared at the nickname, but didn't say anything about it.

"My name's Sakura Haruno. My likes are Sasuke-kun, dislikes are Ino-baka and Naruto-baka, and my dream for the future is to…" She ends it off with a squeal, to which Kiba and Akamaru cover their ears in pain.

"Sakura, you want to become a Kunoichi, right?" Sakura nods at the question, but unsure of what she is going to say next. "Kunoichi don't focus on guys, they focus on the mission ahead. If you want to be taken seriously, then I would say to get into gear and actually start training like you are supposed to, eat like you are supposed to, and you should become a much better kunoichi.

Fail to heed to these rules, and you find yourself either stripped of your ninja title indefinitely, dead on the battlefield because you couldn't do anything, or even worse, see your comrades fall before you, just because you weren't able to do a single thing about it. You have the potential, Sakura. You just don't have the drive to do it yet. Remember this, as a ninja, look underneath the underneath." Sakura was shocked. She never thought about being a ninja like that. However, now that Kurenai brought it up, she felt like she was hopeless. Even though she graduated top of her class, she didn't know how to find her place on the team. She decided that after this, she would try to find a way to make her place on the team.

"Alright, you next Dog Boy." Kurenai said to Kiba, who smirked.

"Name's Kiba Inuzuka, and this is my pal Akamaru! I like Akamaru, dogs, walking dogs, and those who I consider my pack. I dislike those who hurt Akamaru and other dogs, cats, and those who hurt those in my pack. My dream for the future is simple. To be the best in my pack. A great way to do so is to aim for the seat of Hokage!" Kurenai smiled.

'Well, even though he may not be the brightest of the pack, he is willing to work hard in order to protect those closest to him, a true shinobi.' Kurenai thought. "Alright, before we can consider you 3 Genin, we need to make sure that you understand being a shinobi. The true Genin test is tomorrow, where only 33% of the current graduates actually become Genin. By the way, I wouldn't eat breakfast. After all, we can't have you puke while taking the test, can we? Meet me here at 8 AM tomorrow for the test, and don't be late. Punctuality is always a key component to being a shinobi." With that, she Shunshined away, leaving a bewildered team staring at the same spot for a few seconds, before Kiba snapped out of his trance.

"Well, time to head home, Akamaru. See you two tomorrow, you guys." Kiba announced before heading home. Before he could get too far, he was stopped.

"Actually Kiba, before you go, eat breakfast." Shino smoothly said, while leaving a confused Sakura and Kiba to think.

"Wait a minute, didn't Kurenai-sensei tell us to not eat breakfast? If we ate breakfast, we would be going against orders from a higher-up." Kiba said, while Sakura was still thinking. Suddenly her face lit up.

"No Kiba, Shino's right! She never ordered us to do so, she just recommended not to eat. After all, we can't just look at things with face value. Think about what Kurenai-sensei said while she was lecturing me. 'Look underneath the underneath.' That means that she was deliberately baiting us to not eat, to make us perform worse when we need that boost!" Sakura said, getting louder at the end, but not ear piercingly loud like she was an hour ago.

"That makes sense. Thanks for letting us know, Shino! If it wasn't for that, we would've starved during training." Shino just barely nodded before heading home. Sakura then finally started heading to her home.

With Team 10, An hour earlier

Sasuke, Choji, and Hinata watch Team 8 leave before seeing a man walk in. The man had midnight black hair, a beard that extended to his jacket collar, and a lit cigarette in his mouth. "Alright, Team 10. Follow me." Without a word, the 3 Genin walked out, with Hinata giving a hidden glance towards her crush.

When they got to Training Ground 10, the three Genin sat down in front of their sensei. "Alright, we will get started by introductions. I'll go first. My name's Asuma Sarutobi. I like hanging out with the other Jonin, training, and teaching those who want to learn. I dislike those who think that they can get just anything they want, rapists, and traitors. My hobbies are playing Shogi, smoking, and finding something to do. My goal for the future is to better all three of you for this team. Alright, now you begin." Asuma finished, looking straight to Choji.

"Well, I'm Choji Akimichi. I like to eat and hang out with my friends. I dislike those who call me names like fat or chubby, rapists, traitors, and those who pick on my friends. My hobbies are trying out different foods, finding out what different cuisines are out there. I don't really have much of a goal just yet, but I plan on coming up with one later on down the road." Asuma smiled when he heard the ending, and nodded before facing Hinata.

"Alright, you next." Asuma said, while Hinata let out a small 'Eep!' and shrinking into her coat, before finally getting enough courage to actually speak up.

"M-m-my n-n-name i-is H-h-hinata H-hyuga. I-I l-like f-f-flowers, t-training, a-and studying. I d-dislike t-those w-who are r-rude t-to others w-w-without g-getting to k-know them, r-rapists, traitors, a-and the b-bird c-caged s-seal. M-my goal for the f-future is… to get rid of the caged bird seal, and reunite both the Main and branch families together." Hinata said, getting more and more determined as she got to the end, eventually losing the stutter, at least until she realized what she just did, and went back into her shell with a small 'eep'.

Asuma smiled. 'Well, she has a pretty good goal as a shinobi, actually making her come out of her shell. Although she does need more of a confidence boost. However, maybe a pep talk after the true Genin Exam ought to make her more confident. Only time will tell.' he thought.

"Alright, you next." Sasuke didn't even let out a single face expression before starting to speak.

"I am Sasuke Uchiha. I hate a ton of things, and I don't particularly like anything. What I have is not a dream, because I will make it a reality. I'm going to revive my clan, and kill a certain someone." Sasuke finished, with Asuma starting to glare at him.

"Alright. Sasuke, I need to have a talk with you about this 'ambition' you have." Asuma started, with Sasuke about to tune him out, until he said a few key words to keep him in the conversation. "Give up on it." That's when Sasuke glared at Asuma.

"Who are you to tell me what to do? You didn't judge those two when they said their goals, why should you judge mine?" Sasuke retorted, while Asuma fixed a more icy glare at him, making him shift uneasily.

"Because, Sasuke, you are going at being a ninja the wrong way. Your motives are nothing that a Konoha Shinobi should be. Revenge is not a part of our motives. Hate only brings more hate to this world." Sasuke started getting even more mad at this point.

"Shut up! You say that hate only brings more hate, you don't know the feeling that I've been through. I've watched my own brother kill my entire clan! And you say I shouldn't go out for revenge?! NO! I will go for revenge. I will kill my brother." Sasuke declared.

"SASUKE, SHUT UP!" Asuma yelled, making Sasuke wisely shut his mouth. "You didn't actually witness the murder." Asuma said, but before he could continue, Sasuke interrupted.

"What do you mean, 'I didn't witness the murder'?! I SAW MY FAMILY DIE RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! How can you expect me to believe something you are saying, when your own logic is flawed?!" Sasuke practically yelled. Asuma fixed his glare even tighter.

"Because Sasuke, you didn't see the entire clan get killed in front of you. Your brother put you in a Genjutsu, meaning you were made to believe that he killed the entire clan. However, I can say for a fact that there is more to the Uchiha massacre than meets the eye. You will have to talk to my dad, but only if you get your act together, and start acting like a Konoha shinobi, instead of a ninja-wannabe that gets everything handed to him, and that has everything go his own way. I will put up with none of it. If you continue down this path, you will be stripped of your ninja title indefinitely." Asuma said with a fixed and icy tone. Everyone was sitting there, baffled at what had just happened.

None of them could speak. Never once did Sasuke think about how he saw his entire clan die in front of him. It was true that he saw Itachi kill his own parents, but other than that, he never saw the entire clan get massacred in front of him. He just assumed, after the Tsukyunomi, that his older brother was the one that killed the entire clan. Now, he wasn't that sure about it anymore. He wasn't sure about anything anymore.

Hinata started considering multiple things. Her first thought was that if there were more than was told about the Uchiha Massacre, then there could be even more secrets lurking around. Darker ones. Ones that weren't supposed to be known. Somehow, she knew that one of these secrets could be tied to Naruto somehow, but didn't know what secret or why it was. After all, Naruto was horribly mistreated, sabotaged by the teachers, and the only real form of name the villagers called him were 'Demon', 'Monster', or worse names than that. What it all meant though was beyond her. She had no idea what secrets were focused around her crush.

Choji was also considering the darker secrets lurking around Konoha. He didn't know whether a ton of what he knew was actually legitimate. He also remembered times when he saw Naruto wanting to play with kids his age, but either get rejected immediately, or the parents telling their kids not to play with him. He was always confused about that. However, the major part was the name calling. He didn't hang around Naruto that much, so he hardly heard them calling Naruto names. However, when he was in the vicinity around Naruto, he would hear the villagers call Naruto names similar to how Hinata heard them. He could never figure out why though.

Asuma brought the three Genin out of their thoughts soon after though, as well as the two other Genin. "Alright, now that that is settled, meet me here at 5 AM. From there, we will do your final test to become Genin." The three Genin went wide-eyed when he said that.

"But we passed the Genin exam! Why make us go through another test when we already passed?" Choji asked, a little nervous because he wasn't sure if he could pass this next test.

"Oh, the test in the Academy? That was just to weed out those who had no shot at becoming Genin. The typical percentage of Genin graduates that actually make it out to field is only 33%. That's fairly low odds, if you ask me. Any more questions?" Everyone shook their heads. "Good. Don't forget to be there by 5 AM. Oh, and I suggest not eating. After all, we don't want you to throw up now, do we?" Asuma said, making sure to have that hint of suggestion instead of an order, to see if they can pick up on things like that.

With that, Asuma left his Genin. "Alright, I'm heading home." Choji said.

"Wait, Choji." Sasuke said, surprising Hinata and Choji. "Both you and Hinata eat before coming here tomorrow. That was a suggestion, not an order. It was somewhat obvious, but to those who weren't careful enough wouldn't be able to pick up on it. Just thought I would let you both know, seeing how we are going to be a team." He finished, with Hinata and Choji looking at each other, before smiling at Sasuke.

"Alright, thanks for that. See you tomorrow!" Choji said, with Hinata slightly bowing to Sasuke, showing her gratitude for him giving her that tidbit of information. Sasuke vaguely showed a smile.

'I think Asuma was right, maybe I should let being an avenger go. I wonder… if Asuma-sensei was right about the massacre, that would mean that something happened for the massacre to take place… maybe I should go see Hokage-sama.' He thought before heading towards the Hokage tower.

**Author's Notes: Alright! That's a wrap for the first Omake! Let me know how I did with Sakura and Sasuke. Honestly, I feel like I played that better than I had originally planned! I had planned on Sakura getting changed for the better, but as time went on, I thought about how Asuma wouldn't go easy on Sasuke as well, so he would be harsh on him, like Kurenai was on Sakura.

Also, I know that this isn't as long as the rest, but honestly, I feel like this part was needed, so the characters act like I want them to without it feeling a bit OOC immediately out of the gate. In any case, this is just the first Omake that I made, and I actually put it together relatively quickly compared to the previous few chapters.

Hopefully you all enjoyed it, and I'll see you next week for Chapter 8! See ya!**
