Married to the King of the Riddermark she must navigate being a stranger in a strange land, being a queen to a king, and to learn to live and love with a man she hardly knows.

Lori Deng jumps off the train to the afterlife and ends up in the wilderness with a broken arm. After a mysterious man named Strider offers her refuge, life becomes far stranger than she ever could have imagined, and she is forced to find new ways to cope with her second chance.

After the Éothéod revolt against the Wainriders, they seek to form alliances with their neighbors. They send a delegation to Imladris, bringing gold, fine horses, and two young thralls chosen to be given to Lord Elrond himself. Elrond is conflicted, obviously.
