Ruby let out a small sigh, her eyes locked on the small plastic in her hand. She swallowed a lump in her throat as she ran a hand through her hair. Her knee shook as she felt her stomach doing flips.

She rested her free hand on her mouth, closing her eyes to focus on her breathing. The whole room felt like it was spinning, she needed to get control or she was actually going to lose her lunch this time.

It felt like the first time she used her semblance. She had gone too fast, slammed into a wall and felt dizzy for days after that.

She took a deep breath quickly wrapping the plastic test in toilet paper before discarding it in the trash bin next to her. With that done she got up from the toilet making sure to keep a hand on the bathroom counter to keep her balance, she quickly washed her hands before splashing a little water in her face.

A knock on the door pulled her attention, she heard the door open as the knocks continued making her roll her eyes. "Damn you look like you've been hit by an Ursa." The woman said, handing Ruby a towel.

"Thanks." She shut the faucet off, wiping down her face. "I feel like I have."

The woman laughed, crossing her arms over her chest as she leaned back against the doorframe. "So…?"

"It's positive."

"Explains a lot."

Ruby sighed, setting the towel on the counter before exiting the bathroom. "I knew this was possible, Blake and I talked about it years ago after the first time but after that we used protection, I started the pill." She finished sitting down on her bed turning to her friend.

Ramona smiled keeping her arms crossed over her chest as she stood in the middle of the room. "I mean babies happen Ruby."

"Yes I understand babies happen, I went to sex-ed class I'm not dumb."

"Are you going to tell Blake at least?"

Ruby let out another sigh, her eyes going to the floor. She knew she had to tell Blake, it wasn't just her baby. But how would Blake react? Anytime something scary or anything to do with Blake and or her past made her run. Sure she would eventually come back, but Ruby always feared that something would finally break and she would be gone forever.

"I mean Blake probably already knows, with that scent you're giving off."

Ruby gave the woman a confused look. "Scent? Do I smell bad?"

Ramona laughed pointing to her wolf ears. "Remember the keen sense of smell? I'm honestly surprised she hasn't noticed. Unless like me she doesn't exactly know what the smell is."

The confused look on her face only grew, making the woman sigh. "Alright, let me ask you this." She paused thinking of a good way to form her words. "I don't want details because by dust I don't want to know what you two do." She shuddered before sighing again. "Has Blake been kind of… active?"

"What."

The woman pinched the bridge of her nose letting out a huff. "Are you sure Ozpin let you into this school? Alright, listen, how often does Blake go into heat?"

"Every other month or so, however, she's been kind of more… oh." Ruby paused cupping her chin. "Could that really cause it?"

"It's a likely chance, especially since you two are marked. I can barely tolerate being around you sometimes, imagine how she feels being around you 24/7." Ramona let out a sigh sitting next to Ruby. "I'm surprised she hasn't caught on yet, didn't you say she used to be a part of the White Fang?"

"Once upon a time yeah, she's never really talked much about her time with them though."

"It's something faunus don't really talk about, it's just… there. It's the same with marks, some parents teach them about what they need to know, some don't. Does she have a good relationship with her parents?"

"It's a work in progress, they are making up over time."

Ramona nodded, leaning back a little looking at Ruby. "Are you afraid to tell her because of her past?"

The redhead nodded, resting her hands on her knees. "She tries to not let what people say about faunus get to her too much but I can see it, I hear it. Having children has never come up at any point in time, what we would do. But we both know that faunus genes are more dominant in a human faunus relationship. I would be there to protect them, I know Blake would too." She sighed resting her hand on her stomach. "But I know she would be terrified and I can't help but have the thought 'will she run if I tell her?.'"

Ramona frowned, wrapping her arm around Ruby's shoulder. "I understand where you're coming from, not fully but I do understand. But Rubles listen, do you see how she looks at you?"

Ruby raised an eyebrow looking at her friend. "When you are not looking Blake looks at you like you are her world and nothing else matters. I've caught her a few times and honestly it makes me happy for you to have found someone who cares for you. She might get scared at her but hey, be there to catch her."

The redhead laughed a little, wiping a tear from her face. "Now I'm also going to be honest Ruby, you might want to wash your sheets before Blake comes back because she might kill me." The woman said quickly hopping up from the bed making Ruby laugh even more. "I'm being serious Ruby, this isn't funny! I've seen what mated faunus can do when another faunus is around their mate and I'd rather not live that experience. "

"Alright alright, shoo then since I need to clean up now to make sure my girlfriend doesn't murder my best friend." Ruby rolled her eyes as she started to take off the bed sheets. "Thank you again, however, for talking to me." She said folding the sheets into a somewhat neat ball.

"That's what I'm here for, I have to make up for lost time anyway. Since you know, you've decided to go ahead of the gang."

Ruby laughed, tossing the pillows back on the bed. "It wasn't like I meant to."

"Yeah yeah rose, keep telling yourself that."

It's honestly been a hot minute since I've done anything for RWBY I recently rewatched V4-8 and after watching it I've slowly been getting back into RWBY again. It was super hard after high school ended to ever write RWBY again, but I'm slowly but surely giving it another go. I'm hoping to start rewriting my original stories starting with Bloody Roses.
