"What…is this…?" Mirai looks around to find herself at her old school. She's back to the past….a past that even she can never escape. Why must it be now at all times?

She sees that she is in the classroom, sitting at her own desk. And there are scribbles on it. Something that she remembers all too well. Some words like "Tiny" or "Shorty" or other silly name calling she cannot forget.

Tearing up, she stares at those words as she hears the kids laughing at her.

"You're like a little child!"

"You want to go back to your Mommy and Daddy?"

"Sucks for you to be so short! You cannot even jump high enough!"

"Stop it…stop it…" Mirai clenches her fists at the desk, head hung low and tears dripping on the ruined desk. No matter how much she looks away from them, she keeps on hearing their hurtful teasing.

"You're a loser, Mirai! No wonder nobody wants to be friends with you!"

"You're too short! You have temper tantrums just like a little child! And you get angry very easily!"

"Let's leave her be! She's about to break!"

"Yeah, leave her all alone! Be by herself!"

"Stop….! I don't want to hear any of it anymore….!" Mirai shuts her visible eye tightly, heavy tears falling now.

The kids laughs grow louder and louder. She's surrounded by those awful children. She cannot get out.

"Stop…for the love of God, please stop this!" Mirai cries.

Their laughs echo throughout her mind. There is absolutely nothing she can do to make this horrible vision go away.

Reality*

Mirai jolts up, awakening from the nightmare. Haruka awakens as well from feeling her darling comrade suddenly wake up like that.

"Mirai…what's the matter?" Haruka asks softly. "A nightmare?"

Mirai tears up upon seeing the very person she looks up to. "Haruka-sama…Haruka-sama, it was horrible!! I couldn't…I couldn't stand it I…!"

Haruka gently embraces the smaller girl. "It's alright. I'm here. I'm here…"

Mirai hugs Haruka tightly and sobs her heart out, not caring if anyone else in the hideout hears her. The nightmare was just absolutely horrible. Terrifying. Her past still haunts her to this day. Mirai wants to know to get rid of these things but alas, it's just the way it is.

"Haruka-sama….!" Mirai sobs, rubbing her face against Haruka's shirt. "I…I don't want to be ignored! I don't want to be the Lonely Girl ever again…!"

"I know," Haruka says softly, stroking the smaller girl's dark hair. "You're never alone, though. You know that, right?"

"Y-yes…" Mirai sniffles and presses her face against Haruka's chest.

"You made lots of friends since coming to Hebijo," Haruka continues. "Everyone wanted to be with you. They enjoyed your presence…including me."

"Yes…yes…" Mirai looks up at her idol.

Haruka smiles and wipes the last remaining tears with her thumb. She then leans in to kiss Mirai on the forehead. "You are never a lonely girl now. Not ever. As long as everyone else stays by your side, you won't have to think about being ignored."

"Thank you…Haruka-sama…" Mirai says softly and rests her head on her senior's chest. "Um…might I ask…do you go through the same thing as I do?"

"Of course," Haruka says. "I have visions of my past I can never escape. Even though I want to get rid of it, I don't even have the power to force it to vanish. Being treated like a doll by my own mother…that will remain with me for as long as I live."

"Haruka-sama…" Mirai says.

The honey-blonde looks down and caresses her junior's cheek. "Enough of that now. Let's get some sleep, shall we?"

"Yes…" Mirai replies.

The two get under the covers and Mirai snuggles close to her idol. Haruka wraps her arm around the smaller girl so she feels safe and sound.

When they drift off to sleep, Mirai never has the nightmare again for the rest of the night.
