Wealth can be filled with happiness. But it can also be filled with cruelty and greediness. Yomi knows that from experience. Each and every day, she comes across a wealthy person, some with decent amount of money, but there are others that are extremely poor. Heck, they hold up signs that confirm it. Homeless, don't have a job, their family member passed away, rendering them homeless, you name it. Yomi cannot stand the sight of these people. For her, wealthy people are still the same. She treats the poor like they are her children, helping them little at a time. But even so, seeing them in such a state saddens her. It breaks her heart to see what they've been going through. She has been there a long time ago.
She has wandered around town for just about an hour, looking at these people left and right. The poor and the wealth. Her teammates aren't with her today, which means she's on her own for the day. She doesn't mind it, but sometimes, it can be really lonely. Lonely without…her beloved Ikaruga.
Ikaruga is a rich woman, but…she was the one who taught her the valuable lesson of understanding one another. Yomi herself cannot believe Ikaruga's true story. She cannot get herself to hate Ikaruga anymore, even though she really wanted to. From that day forward, they became REALLY close friends. So close in fact they have confessed to one another and became girlfriends shortly after.
Right now, Ikaruga went on a training camp with her team for a few days. It's only a few days, but even so, Yomi still misses Ikaruga. Looking at people left and right, wealthy or not reminds her too much of her past. The past she can never escape.
She takes a seat on a bench at the front of a local park and looks up at the sun that is about to set. The sky turned orange. She and Ikaruga used to watch the sunset almost every day. But now without her, Yomi has lost feeling. Instead, it's replaced with sadness and longing. Her beloved Ikaruga…
"Ikaruga-san…" Yomi can feel a lump in her throat. She is trying hard not to cry. "I miss you so much. You said it would be a few days but it's been a week. When are you going to return? Return to my arms? And kiss like we always do?" She sniffles and tries to wipe away the endless tears. "It's so hard without you here. Seeing the homeless breaks my heart. I try my hardest to give them what they need, but without you here…I don't have much to give…"
"It's okay…" a familiar voice says as Yomi can feel arms gently wrap around her. "You have done your best…right until the end…"
"I-Ikaruga….san…?" Yomi turns around to see the one she's been longing to be with is finally here.
"I'm back…Yomi-san~" Ikaruga smiles.
Yomi jumps from the bench, comes around it and plunges herself in Ikaruga's arms. "Ikaruga-san…! Ikaruga-san….! I missed you so much….!"
"I missed you, too…." Ikaruga hugs Yomi tenderly. "My team was sidetracked and couldn't get a ride until the next day. It's a very long story."
"I-I see," Yomi pulls away and looks into Ikaruga's beautiful eyes. "Ikaruga-san…I…I have been…"
"I know," Ikaruga says, wiping the tears with her thumb while caressing her beloved's cheek. "I heard the whole thing. You were very lonely, weren't you?"
"Like you have no idea…" Yomi replies.
"Well…I'm here…" Ikaruga says. "Let's come to my place and make up for lost time."
"I would love to!" Yomi nods.
The two intertwine fingers, lean in and share a passionate, heartwarming kiss.
