Spock and Christine have been married for a number of years and are settled in San Francisco. But now Christine is worried - Spock has been spending a lot of time at a local coffee shop ... and in the company of a young Vulcan waitress.

When Kirk and Spock are dumped on an unknown planet and Spock inadvertently eats chocolate, things go a little awry. This is a short story, and is complete. [AN. I've never really subscribed to the 'Vulcans get drunk on chocolate' idea, but this was fun. It was originally intended to be slash, but this isn't. I might revise it to make a new version that is.]

Spock wonders if his feelings for Kirk are logical. Then again, he wonders if it even matters. Whether it is logical or not, he loves Kirk.

Members of the house of Surak are not meant to be musicians. Strictly speaking, they are not meant to be scientists, either. But this is at least a somewhat more justifiable form of rebellion than music, in Vulcan terms, and in his youth Spock excels at self-deception.

Kirk and the Enterprise crew come across a severed artificial head. What does it mean?
