Virevas never wanted to leave her clan, especially not like this. Book One of a larger piece entitled "Varric Tethras' One True Epic". This book establishes the pre-Blight relationship between Elissa Cousland and Nathaniel Howe, and shows how first love can often save and scar us.

After finishing his tale of Hawke, Varric is forced by the Seeker to reveal more, specifically about a half elf and a Tevinter Spearman. With no choice but to start over Varric begins the true tale of Hawke. Merrill/OC, Bethany/OC.

It's the first word that comes to mind when Varric explains the relationship between Junior and the Rivaini. (Fifty sentences detailing the various ups and downs [and horizontals] of Carver and Isabela's decade-long affair.)
