"Come on, Casey! You have to remember something."

"I don't know what to tell you, Aura. Everything that happened after we ended up in that other world is gone. There's no point in digging for more information."

It's been half an hour since I woke up in the forest in this new world. There was really nothing much else to do but search for civilization. During the trip, Aura tried to jog my memory to no avail. She kept trying to recall her own memories of what happened after the bright light she mentioned, hoping to remember even a sliver, but got nothing, much to her frustration.

"This doesn't make any sense," Aura groaned. "As long as we've existed, nothing in any world has ever been able to affect a Guide's memory, since we are mainly here to support whatever soul we're assigned to. We should be able to record all that transpires in these worlds."

"Well, no point in dwelling on it now," I commented while observing our surroundings. "I'm more concerned about where we ended up."

I'll admit, wherever we were was a big improvement over the wasteland that was Draenor. From Aura's description of what I had forgotten, I was glad there were no swirling vortexes of energy, or pieces of the earth off and floating away. The forest we ended up in was pretty normal all things concerned, if I had been told this was Earth, I wouldn't have second-guessed them, but Aura outright confirmed to me we were on a different planet.

"I'm not sensing any immediate danger," Aura responded as she circled me. "If you want, I can fly up and check if we're near any civilization."

"Yeah, good idea. No sense in wandering aimlessly if we don't have a destination."

"Alright, be right back!" Aura quickly flew up and away, leaving me to my thoughts.

The planet we were on had to be Azeroth. I did request the Warcraft universe. The only problem was not knowing what time period we arrived at. While I didn't play the game, I knew there was a lot of lore packed within it, especially when it came to war. Not to mention all the various DLCs expanding the lore and world.

I was also disturbed by the fact that I had forgotten everything I had encountered in the previous world. Aura recalled it in great detail, but still, no images came to my mind. Not of Turalyon, Alleria, and anyone else she mentioned.

"Good news!" Aura exclaimed, startling me as she zoomed in out of nowhere. "There's a port not too far from here! We can rest up there."

"Really?" I asked as I quickly collected myself and looked around. "Great. Which way?"

"All we had to due is heard north, and we should come upon it soon."

My stomach growled, leaving an awkward silence between us, broken only by Aura's stifled giggles. I rolled my eyes and turned north. "Shut up."

When we arrived, we learned the port's name was Hasic. It was connected to what was called the Great Sea. It was a simple enough place, seemed cozy and welcoming. Although, I did receive plenty of odd looks here and there. Luckily it was mainly due to my clothes, which alleviated some worry.

"Excuse me, young sir!"

Until now...

I looked over my shoulder to see a very excited-looking man quickly making his way towards me with the biggest grin on his face.

Instinctively I took a step back. "Uh.."

"What the hell is with this guy?" Aura slightly freaked from within my mind.

Before I could move any further, the man swiftly gripped both of my shoulders and got right in my face. I must ask sir, where did you obtain such unique-look apparel! The craftsmanship is beyond superb!"

What is happening? "I- uh.."

"Forgive me for being forward, but I really must see how those clothes are made!" His grin seemed to stretch from ear to ear. "I'd very much to purchase them from you. You will be well compensated I assure you!"

Before I knew it, I was being guided to what looked like a clothes shop. By the time we entered, I managed to snap myself out of confusion. Aura, how did this escalate this fast?

"Don't look at me. I'm just as confused as you are."

"Welcome back, sir. We're happy to see you again," a trio of girls in similar uniforms bowed to us simultaneously as we entered the store. Most likely they were his servants or assistants.

"Good afternoon, girls," he responded before gesturing to me. "Please help this young man get fitted for a new outfit. One of our best if you please."

I had to admit, I was unsure of the idea at first, but in retrospect, it was better to wear clothing that people are used to. It would draw less attention that way. Not to mention, this shop had some pretty sweet stuff.

I ended up going with a long, teal-colored coat that came with a matching colored wide-brimmed fedora. I also chose a silver-colored shirt, with dark grey pants, and black shoes.

"Not bad," Aura commented as I examined myself in a mirror. "Love the colors."

"Thanks," I smiled as I adjusted the hat. "Blue has always been my favorite color. Maybe we should find something for you."

"Me? Why would I need to wear anything?" She asked as she swirled around. "I'm just a little ball of light."

"That may be true, but," I chuckled as I studied her form. "I just think you would look so adorable wearing a tiny hat~"

"Adorable!" She snapped, shimmering erratically while turning a shade of red from either anger or embarrassment as I broke out laughing.

"Here's your payment good sir," the shopkeeper smiled brightly as he handed me a sack full of coins. "If you happen to come across any clothes like the ones you had before, please stop by again."

"Will do," I chuckled before looking around. "By the way, you wouldn't happen to know where I can rest up and get a decent meal and drink, do you? I've been traveling for long while."

"I know just the place. Walk down this path and take a right on the third path. You'll find a tavern called The Sea Boar with a huge sign you can't miss it."

"Great. Thank you very much," I tipped my hat and continued on. I kept to myself, occasionally nodding and waving to people I passed before a question popped into my head.

Hey Aura, can I use magic?

"Of course! As a Guide, I half to prepare the I'm assigned for any world they wish to visit. Seeing how this world was going to be full of magic, I made the necessary preparations and adjustments."

I'm not like an overpowered god-figure, right? I'd rather not take that kind of route.

"Don't worry, I gave you a reasonable power level. It'll adjust the more you learn."

Alright, good. Outside of magic, I think I should also find a weapon to use. I don't suppose you could summon one for me?

"Nope, sorry."

I figured.

It wasn't long after, that I finally managed to find The Sea Boar. It was pretty what you'd expect from a tavern in a fantasy world. It even came with the added benefit of all the patrons turning to look towards me as soon as I entered.

Tilting my hand down slightly to cover my face, I made my way over to the bar, being minded not to bump into anyone. The bartender had a pretty classic look: curly handlebar mustache, combed hair, suspenders, etc. He was even cleaning an empty glass mug with a rag.

"Welcome to The Sea Boar, stranger," he greeted as I took a seat. "What can I get you?"

"What do you have?" I asked as I adjusted myself.

"Well, the locals consider our ale to be the best in port. We also have juice and water."

"I'll take a glass of orange juice if you have any."

The man nodded. "Coming right up."

The juice only cost only a few copper pieces. It was a fair amount, and the juice was even sweeter than any I had before. I must've been thirstier than I thought, as I had downed the glass within a minute and ordered another.

After three drinks, I decided to call it. I wasn't hungry yet, but I was ready to rest up. I asked the barkeep if there were any rooms I could rest in. Luckily there were rooms available for rent on the upper floor. After paying for one, I got up from my seat and moved toward the stairs.

Only to walk right into another patron holding a mug.

The man snarled as the drink he held spilled onto his face and chest. "You little shit!"

Before I knew it, I was shoved hard into the bar. My hat fell off as I grunted.

"Oh come on, Grog," the bartender snapped as he steadied me. "Give the kid a break."

"Oh, I'll give the kid a break," Grog chuckled as he cracked his knuckles and approached. "I'll start with his legs."

Aura, a little help would be nice!

"Sorry Casey, I'm forbidden from interfering in these kinds of things! But you can use magic. Just channel some kind of spell or ability and release it from your hand."

At this point, Grog was close enough to grab me. Taking a deep breath, I imagined a gust of wind forcing him back. As soon as I felt him grab my shirt, I thrust my hand toward him.

I felt a massive gust of wind and Grog's grip loosen, quickly followed by a squeal from him and a huge crash along with the startled responses by the other patrons. I opened my eyes to find Grog was now in a crumpled heap several feet away in the middle of a broken table. Holy shit, I just used magic.

For the next moments, the tavern was dead quiet, with everyone's eyes once again on me, I could make out shock and awe in their expressions.

Then they all cheered.

I felt the bartender clap me on my shoulder and my hat placed back on my head. "You have no idea how long we've wanted to see that drunk bastard get what's coming to him."

My eyes were still on the unconscious Grog, and, still reeling from the fact that I had just used magic, I could only stutter in response. "I uh, eh, y-you're welcome."

To celebrate the occasion, someone bought the next round of drinks, and many offered some ale to me, but I politely declined. Grog was eventually dragged outside by the bartender.

"Hey, kid."

I looked over my shoulder to someone wave me over to a table. It wasn't much of a surprise to guess they were dwarves judging by their short stature and massive beards.

One of them was a bronze-skinned, bearded warrior with very wide shoulders. A wild mane of hair hung behind his stocky, unyielding face with brown eyes. There was also a fuller, slightly bald dwarf and a third with a mohawk with a similar build to the former.

"Take a seat lad," the first dwarf said. "I must admit, that was pretty ballsy of you to not back down from Grog."

"Thank you, sir," I responded as I got comfortable. "I will admit, I expected to end up with several broken limbs and missing teeth."

The dwarfs chuckled. "Aye, and you wouldn't have been the first one. What's your name, son?"

I held out my hand. "Casey, sir."

"No need for formalities, lad," the dwarf's hand easily enveloped my own. I couldn't help but inwardly flinch out of fear of it getting crushed. "The name's Falstad Dragonreaver, but you can call me Falstad. These two are Molok and Glodin."

"Nice to meet ya, lad," Glodin, the mohawked one greeted with a raise of his mug.

"Now on to business," Falstad said as a waitress walked by, setting down four mugs of I assumed was ale. Falstad passed one to me. "Drink up lad. First round's on us."

"Well, I, I've never tried ale before," I sheepishly grinned as the dwarves chuckled.

"Well, there's a first time for everything, lad. Put some hair on your chest."

I stared at the mug. Any chance you can make me immune to alcohol?

"It doesn't work like that, sorry."

"Oh, fuck it." I downed the mug, only to sputter and cough uncontrollably from the taste causing the dwarves to roar with laughter.

"Having some trouble lad?" Molok asked with a big grin as I tried to recover.

"What was your first clue?" I gasped, making them laugh even harder. Soon after, I couldn't help but join them.

Things went pretty smooth over the next several moments, drinks were shared, and food was eaten. I learned that the three of them were gryphon riders, and their jobs were mainly to patrol the lands for any threat to the nation's people. It all sounded pretty damn cool.

However, all good things never last. As Falstad was asking if I'd like to try out gryphon riding, we heard screaming from outside. Rushing out we saw, people, scrambling to safety as fire rained down around them.

Looking up, my eyes widened in shock as I stared at two massive beasts soaring above the port.

"Dragons."
