Epilogue

Maybe ten or twelve years later…

Brittany…

"Santana?" Brittany stared at the device in her hand. The screen was still black. "Santanaaa!" She sighed when she didn't get an answer from upstairs.

With a look at the clock above the kitchen table, she put her smartphone down on the counter and shook her head. "Stupid technology…"

She went to open the fridge and rolled her eyes at the emptiness. She totally forgot it was her turn to do the groceries. Quickly she thought of a plan because in about twenty minutes some hungry mouths were going to run around in the kitchen.

"Did you call me?" Santana came through the kitchen door with her reading glasses on and a book in her hands.

"Yeah honey what's my password again? I tried to buy something online but I couldn't even log on." Brittany explained while rummaging a drawer for a small piece of paper with the number of their favorite pizza delivery on it.

"I don't know each and every single password for all of your online accounts – don't you write them down somewhere?" Santana countered while grabbing a bottle of juice from the fridge. "Also… the fridge is empty."

"There it is!" Brittany exclaimed triumphantly when she found the paper. She held it in front of Santana's face.

"Well yes because I thought it would be so much better to celebrate the beginning of your last online course with some pizza. I'll do the groceries in the morning. Promise."

Santana tried to hide a grin but eventually gave in.

"You always find a reason to celebrate just so you can order pizza."

Brittany nodded. It was true, she couldn't deny it.

"You have to admit that it comes in handy. The boys are gonna love it and be quiet for the rest of the night."

Her wife just rolled her eyes. They both knew that wasn't going to be the case. Brittany grabbed her phone again so she could order the usual but large this time.

"My screen is still black… I don't think this fingerprint ID or what it's called is working. Can I have your phone?" Brittany asked and approached Santana to grab the phone from her back pocket without even waiting for a response.

"Of course it's working, babe. But you have to actually charge your phone in order to use it."

Brittany narrowed her eyes. There was a slight possibility that she forgot to charge it. Again.

She wrapped her arms around Santana's body, kissing her before she could continue her lecture about how to use the stupid smartphones. Brittany knew it all. She just didn't like them that much. Especially because they became more and more advanced with every new edition.

"Don't you try to distract me" Santana muttered between kisses.

"But you've studied enough for the whole weekend. Will you watch the movie with me and the boys tonight?"

Santana pretended to think. Then she smiled and wrapped her arms around Brittany's neck.

"Alright… but please tell me it's not another one of those marble movies."

"Marvel, Santana. But yes it is."

Brittany watched Santana's cute face falling.

"There's a new one? Again?"

Brittany nodded and planted several kisses from her cheek down her neck, hoping she'd get weak.

"Are you trying to bribe me because it's working" Santana sighed before she got pressed against the kitchen wall and Brittany pushed her hips against Santana's.

She wondered how much time they had but right at that moment, the front door opened and loud children feet stomped down the hall.

"Aunt Brittany!"

They broke apart right before the twin boys entered the kitchen.

"What?!" Brittany yelled and tried to mirror the excitement that the young boys brought along. They were wearing capes and costumes, just like last time and the three times before that.

"We found this really shiny rock under your porch!"

Brittany's jaw dropped.

"Oh my God! Why didn't you bring it along?" She could hear Santana chuckling as she witnessed their interaction.

"We weren't sure if it's contamintated." One boy said with a shrug.

"Contaminated? Should we grab an oven mitt and find out?" Brittany wondered. The twins nodded hastily and ran out of the kitchen, leaving the two of them alone.

"I never know whether to be jealous of your tight bond or to love you even more for it." Santana said with a loving voice, taking the small piece of paper still in Brittany's hand. "The usual, I assume?"

Brittany nodded happily. Before she followed the boys outside, she grabbed her phone and connected it with the charger that was always there in the kitchen. She pressed another kiss to Santana's lips and with a wink hurried outside to be with her favorite two nephews.

Hours later she made love to Santana to make up for everything. For the groceries she didn't do, for the fact that she kept asking annoying questions about her new smartphone and for making her watch action movies she didn't even like. Except she could tell that Santana was about to get hooked on the whole Marvel universe. That night she even asked Brittany something about the plot when they were already lying in bed, tired after finally getting the boys to sleep in the guestroom.

Brittany was more than happy to explain the plot holes she didn't get. She found it sexy when Santana kept asking and even used the correct names of the characters.

She held her so close when Santana sat on top of her, trying to keep her moans low because of what Brittany did with her other hand between Santana's thighs.

At those nights they kissed like they were teenagers again. During the secret hours in Brittany's truck out of town by their favorite spot with only the stars as their witnesses.

Who knew back then that all their dreams were going to come true.

Well… maybe not all of their dreams but most of them and it was nice to still have some. Always.

Brittany kissed Santana deeply. As long as they were awake, she wasn't going to do anything else.
