The Hunger Games have been a beloved tradition for centuries, and have undergone immense transformation throughout that time. But what happened in each edition of the games to shape them into what they are today? Here are the stories of every Hunger Games ever enacted upon the citizens of Panem. This is 23 Cannons.

The Hunger Games are not drawing the attention of the Capitol youth. In an attempt to save the Games, President Kimble decides to merge them with Panem's most popular dating reality show. Those voted off the show are placed into the Hunger Games. Twenty-six Tributes, three winners. SYOT/SYOC Open!

Roselyn Larson won her Games five years ago, and her life has since then become a never-ending trial. Forced into the dark underbelly of Capitol society, she doesn't have much to live for. As Panem prepares for the death of the only president most of its citizens have ever known, both the tributes in the Games and the officials running them must take care to learn from the past - lest the same mistakes come back to haunt Panem's future. Carina chose a third option and became someone else, abandoning who she was and promising to herself to never return to 12. She took her brother's hand and ran as far as she could, leaving 12 behind.

After a horrific event, District 7 had created something deemed as 'the list'. It contained several names of children they knew would be reaped for the Games. Each year, two more names are crossed off, leaving the district more hopeless with every death. Mrs. Snow was married to her husband for more years than her fingers could count and Mr. Heavensbee had great plans laid out for the nation that would get him removed from the precious thing called 'life' if found out. Somehow, both collide at an evening dinner, share a few interests, and repeatedly have to remind themselves that they shouldn't be that foolish.
