Ryu Otsutsuki: Sure, I appreciate the help.

Disclaimer: I do not own Devil May Cry or Marvel Comics. I only own the OC Drake Redgrave.

"Rogers, what the hell happened up there?!" Maria Hill, Director of SHIELD, which stood for Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, demanded with furrowed brows as Steve stood at a computer that displayed the SHIELD director's face, and she was far from happy.

Steve sighed. Of course Maria was going to contact them as soon as she learned they were back at Avengers Tower. "Wolverine and Hope Summers were on the blue area of the moon, and Logan contacted us. So a select few members of the Avengers went to try and speak with hope, to bring her into protective custody until we could figure out what to do about the Phoenix then Summers and his X-Men showed up. Long story short, a fight broke out, then the Phoenix itself arrived."

Maria's cold mask broke just a little as her eyes widened just slightly that a normal person wouldn't see it, but Steve, a trained solider and super soldier at that, noticed it.

"Summers kept Hope from us as he believed the Phoenix was there for her... but the Phoenix went for Sparda instead." He continued with a grim tone, remembering the sight of Drake being slammed into by the Phoenix and the screams the young man let out as the cosmic entity merged with him.

"And what about the X-Men? Should I be expecting various attacks around the world because they got pissed that their so-called mutant 'messiah' didn't get the power upgraded they wanted her to have?"

"No, I'm hoping this whole thing gives Scott a chance to calm down and think of this logically and be reasonable." Steve said, though Maria scoffed at that, clearly not believing him.

"And I hear you don't have him in custody." Maria said more than asked, and it was clear she was not happy about this fact.

Steve frowned. "Maria, Drake-"

"Is not in your custody, is out there, a danger to civilians and himself. He ran from you all instead of seeking your help, which raises red flags." Maria cut him off, her tone cold as ever. "What's to stop me from sending in SHIELD forces after him, capture him and lock him away in a SHILED facility deep underground he'll never see or feel the light of day again?"

Steve's fists tightened at that. "Maria... Drake is not the bad guy here. I know him. He'll want to try and figure out a way to either control the Phoenix or get rid of it and force it to leave the planet, but I know he would never use it for evil. He's not that kind of person."

Maria stared at him blankly, her cold expression giving nothing away. Finally, she said. "You better be right, Rogers. The last thing we need is another Dark Phoenix incident occuring with the ongoing situation between the Avengers and the X-Men. Find him, Rogers. If Sparda is not found in 72 hours, I will send my men after him and they will not be nice. Understood?"

Steve stared Maria in the eye, speaking with a just a stern tone as she had with him. "Crystal."

Maria gave him another hard look before she ceased communication. Steve sighed and ran a hand through his hair as the door opened and Stark walked in.

"Well, this is one major mess of a problem." Stark sighed as he stood beside Steve. "What'd Maria say?"

"She's giving us three days to find Drake and bring him into custody or SHIELD will go after him." Steve said with another sigh, crossing his arms. "And if that happens... they aren't going to be gentle or try to help him. They'll take him in by force. Gotten anything from his Avengers communicator or membership card?"

"Nothing." Stark shook his head. "He's turned it off. I've got my satellites and JARVIS keeping an eye out for any cosmic energy spikes that occur anywhere in the world. If it matches the Phoenix, then that's Drake. Carol and Jessica are worried about him considering they got the hots for him." Stark smirked. "Lucky bastard."

Steve gave Stark a look for the swear word but shook his head, though he couldn't help but smirk a little in amusement at Stark referring to Carol and Jessica being in love with Drake.

"Why do you think he ran?" Stark asked after a few seconds of silence between them.

"To try and do something about it." Steve said, turning to look out the window. "Knowing Drake, he wanted to get away from us so he didn't harm us by mistake, especially with the X-Men there and they'd probably do something that would make the whole situation worse. All I know is Drake is out there, and he's either planning to try and control the Phoenix... or get rid of it."

'Hmm I wonder if I should call my wife later-'

'-Oh man I'm gonna be sooo late-'

'Hey isn't that the guy that I used to beat up-'

'-great here comes the fun police-

'-Fuck me harder!'

"Jesus!" Drake sat up on a bed, holding his head in pain as the voices plagued his mind. Of course, he knew this was because of the Phoenix's merge and bonding to him completed, and that telepathic was one of the various abilities it grants it's users.

But goddamn did the voices hurt his head.

Using Yamato, Drake had opened a portal to a small motel in the Canadian wilderness and booked himself into a room. It was only until he could figure out what to do now and to comprehend the reality of the situation he was in.

He was now the new avatar of the Phoenix.

He didn't know if this was good or bad, but he speculated it was just going to be VERY bad considering Cyclops' crazy desire to have Hope be the Phoenix' avatar and restore the depowered mutants' powers. as for the Avengers, Drake knew that SHIELD would learn of what happened and they'd do something that would just make things even worse.

At least there isn't a warrant out for his arrest... yet.

Drake sighed as he laid back down on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. First thing's first, he has to stay on the move, not draw attention to himself as that would gain the Avengers, SHIELD and the X-Men's attention. But the voices in his head will be a pain... he needed help in trying to deal with his psychic barriers, as he had a feeling Scott would have Emma Frost try to search for him through her telepathic ability.

Maybe Wanda can help him out...

Meanwhile, at the mutant safe haven known as Utopia, Scott was pacing back and fourth with a blank expression on his face, thinking about the latest situation that did not go the way he wanted it to go. He was being watched by Emma, Namor and Magneto.

"We have to do something about this." Scott finally said after five minutes of being silent. His fists were clenched tightly.

"Like what?" Emma asked her lover. "The Phoenix didn't bond to Hope as we wanted, and I doubt Sparda would be willing to help undo the damage Scarlet Witch caused."

Namor scoffed. "it's obvious what we should do."

This caused the trio to look at him with Magneto asking. "And that is?"

"We track down Sparda... and if he doesn;t willingly help us, then we force him by any means necessary or force the Phoenix out of him and into someone that will help us. Either way, I will not allow Mutant kind to go extinct because I'm the only one who'll be willing to do what needs to be done."

Emma nodded. "Rachel and I will search for him with our telepathy. When we find him, we'll inform you."

"Good." Scott said. "Soon, we'll fix this mess..."

Not much in this chapter, as it was merely to show the aftermath and reactions of Drake becoming the Phoenix' avatar.
