Chapter 4:

Skye groaned as she stood up, hungover. Just like each time she hangs out with Tony Stark. Lovely, just lovely.

Her body protested as she struggled to sit up.

She wasn't sure if it was the boxing session with Matty or if it was all the partying. Or it could've been the-

"Stay in bed." A clear voice rang out.

The hacker blinked as she turned around to face a blonde woman in her bed. She did not remember going home with someone. Immediately smiling at the man, "I'm going to make some breakfast." She let her eyes wander down the bare woman's face, "Unless you're more of a casual, going out for breakfast person."

She saw the woman's eyes cast down on her alarm. "Brunch actually."

"An excuse to drink some momosa's then." Skye winked and turned around to get ready. All she had to do was stand up.

That was until she felt a soft hand glide over her shoulder and one was rubbing her waist. Warm breath touched her ears, "Your bed is very comfortable. I'm sure brunch can be postponed into lunch."

Kisses were pressed along her shoulder, and all Skye could do was just whisper.

"Fuck."

Walking out of the shower and into her closet, she grinned as she looked back in the mirror. The luscious locks of the woman walking back into the bedroom.

She picked her favorite pants, straight black pants and her combat boots. She pulled on a white t-shirt and pulled a forest green sweater over it.

"Do you happen to have an extra t-shirt that I can lend?"

Skye looked over to the voice and her eyes locked on her toned stomach, "Not sure if I want to give you one."

The lady rolled her eyes at the hacker and walked over to Skye. Wrapping her arms around her shoulders, she smiled. "I don't have to say pretty please, right?"

Grinning, Skye considered it. "A kiss would do just fine." She answered and wiggled her eyebrows at her.

"That's no problem." The blonde answered and leaned in.

Skye felt lips press against hers, hungrily. Pulling the blonde closer by her waist to keep their lips entangled just a bit longer. She felt her hands slowly wander down from her waist to her rear end. The other woman then pulled away, lips a bit swollen.

A sweet smile etched along those swollen lips, "The shirt?"

The hacker bit the inside of her cheek, "Right. I'm sure I have something around here." She said and let go of her one night stand.

Rummaging through her closet, she pulled up an old t-shirt of hers. Just a plain grey shirt. She handed it to her, smiling before pulling her close by her belt loops. "You mind riding on a motorcycle? I quite frankly hate NYC traffic with a car."

With a raised eyebrow, the woman just tilted her head and kissed Skye's jawline. "I don't mind. I find women driving a motorcycle rather interesting."

Skye started to lean in before she stopped herself, feeling the faint breath on her lips, "We should stop before we have sex again." She said looking into her blue eyes.

"Guess we got lunch after all." The woman said.

Skye smiled at her and raised her hand at the waiter for the check. "Yes we did. I sadly have to get to work. I do have some time to bring you home, depending where you live."

"I'm staying at a hotel." The woman answered, "My place is getting renovated." She explained.

A smile graced the hacker's face. "I can drop you off." She said.

"The four seasons Hotel is where I am staying. Mind dropping me off there?"

Once Skye had paid their bill, the pair sat on the motorcycle and drove to the hotel. Passing a bunch of strangers and kids that always gape at the vehicle.

Driving between cars, they ended up parking in front of the hotel. Helmet in hand, Skye walked besides the blonde into the hotel.

"Hello Mrs. Frayer. Welcome back." The front desk greeted her.

"Just Katelin is fine." She waved back.

Skye walked to her elevator and Katelin leaned over, "Have you ever been to the four seasons hotel?"

Biting the inside of her cheek, she answered. "I haven't."

"Shame," Katelin whispered, "I could show you one of the rooms."

The hacker smirked and pulled her close by the waist, "I wish I could, but raincheck." She answered, kissing the blonde. "I have to work."

Katelin just sighed and pulled out a card from her pocket. "Here." She said and handed it to Skye. And then proceeded to click on the elevator button. "Text me." Katelin whispered and winked before walking into the elevator.

Taking a breath in, Skye watched the door close. She groaned, and turned back around and onto the NYC streets. That is when she felt her phone buzz.

Her heart stopped.

Throwing on her helmet she swiftly got on her motorcycle and turned on the engine. The hacker sped whenever she could and reached Stark Industries as fast as she could.

Driving onto the compound she ran into the main building where Stark's office was located. She used Stick's old meditation to get her heart beating back to a normal rhythm again.

When the elevator door opened, she quickly walked out and into Stark's office. "Pepper?"

"His transport convoy never arrived." She answered. "I just got the news. And I immediately texted you-"

Skye threw her arms around the assistant. "Do you know where exactly he was supposed to go?"

"Yeah, I have the list her-"

"That's good enough." Skye cut her off. "We'll find him." She said and walked back to the elevator, Pepper following after her. "I don't think the military would mind me using their satellites."

"The military?" Pepper questioned, slight panic in her voice.

"Relax, they won't find us." Skye waved it away and pressed the button down to her office level. "You hired me for a reason."

"So, judged by the route they took. He'd be somewhere around here between these parameters." Skye explained. "We can only see in chunks of hours, since the camera is under maintenance." A pause, "JARVIS, scan the route between the parameters and notify me if you see something unusual."

"Will do, Skye." The robotic voice answered.

"What if they don't find him?"

Skye turned around in her desk chair. "They will. He's Stark. You know how he is." She said, hopefully.

"I found something unusual, Skye." The robotic voice popped out of nowhere.

"Show it, JARVIS." Skye called out and her eyes immediately focussed on the screens in front of her.

A picture was shown on the screen and green lines showed up, moving around and zooming in on the square. Zooming in closer and closer, it revealed a crash of some sorts.

Skye took a shuddering breath in. "Does the military already know of this?" She asks, "Look around at their latest activity. Do not get found."

"Military has not seen this yet."

A gasp escaped from Pepper's mouth as she finally pieced everything together. "No,-" She called out.

Arms were wrapped around the assistant and Skye ordered JARVIS to, "Glitch someone's computer out and make them think they did it. Clear your traces and get out of their system."

"Will do, Skye."

"Thank you JARVIS." Skye answered and hugged Pepper closer. "He'll be fine." The hacker repeated, "You know him, he's a Stark." She repeated and repeated. Comforting her friend.

Skye knows why Pepper is so upset over the man. Sure, Skye is too. But not the same grade as Pepper. Tony means so much more to Pepper than Skye does, and she doesn't mind. She's seen the way Pepper looks at him.

Pepper then looked up at Skye. "You know, you're really like him."

Skye raised her eyebrows, looking where the conversation would go.

"You show up to work with a hickey. Two even."

Looking at the joking but somber assistant, Skye cracked a smile, "You should see her."

The two shared a laugh. "Let's go figure out what to do next. I don't think there is a, 'my boss is kidnapped, what are we going to do now.' protocol."

Pepper sniffed and nodded, letting Skye go of their hug. "I think Happy is due to storm in here any moment now.
