"Well, if it isn't my lucky cousin. Care to celebrate the end of our independence together?" Soris smirked at the frowned face of his cousin. "Come on Mae, you look like you're going to your own burial". She rolls her eyes "Is running away still an option?". Soris laughs "Are you insane? Where would you go? Into the woods to live with the Dalish?"

'It could happen…' Mae thinks to herself. "I'm just no thrilled with the idea of getting married to someone I never even saw face to face."

Soris looks in dismay at his cousin "You're not thrilled? Apparently, your groom's a dream come true, and MY bride sounds like a dying mouse." He tells Mae with a deadpan look upon his face, bugging his eyes out when describing the music which is his fiancée's sound. Mae giggles at the impression "Maybe you'll get a cage for wedding present!"

"You are terrible!" Both laugh it off "Let's go introduce you to your dreamy betrothed before you say, 'I do'." He blinks one to many times at 'dreamy' just to piss her off. As they walk on the streets of the Alienage, Mae notices two younglings running after one another as well as a third one hiding in the corner watching the others play.

"What were you two playing?" She asks the young boy. "Heroes and Humans! I made it up! We each choose someone from the elder's stories and do furious battles. I always win!" The girl answers with her hands on her hips, proud at her game. In the corner of her eye, she sees the third one coming closer, shyly, a little girl wearing a red shirt, plaided leggings and a blond hair tied on a ponytail. "Well, why humans? Why not play as elves?" Both the older kids, the smaller one and Soris look wide-eyed at her remark until the little blond girl speaks for the first time "Do you know any stories about elven heroes?" she blinks her big blue eyes at Mae awe-stricken. "As a matter of fact, yes I do" Mae answers quizzically at those who are hearing her now and in unison the three children and Soris remark "You do?"

"Of course! Er… is about Serah! The mightiest elven archer!" The little blond girl approaches "And what happened to him?". Mae smirks as four sets of eyes are now bug-eyed on her. "Well… SHE" she winks at the little girl "was the fiercest archer, perfect aim, amazing speed. Never lost her target, one could tell that Serah could shoot an arrow midflight in her direction". Jaw-dropped expressions surrounding her but for her surprise it was Soris the next to speak "Did Serah defeated many enemies?"

"Well yes! Cousin, all by herself she destroyed many evil spirits in the tower of Dread" Mae spookily waves her hands at the children. "Hooray! I'm going to be Serah!" The oldest girl shouts and returns to running from her friend "Not fair! I want to be her!" As Mae gets up, the smallest one comes to her "How did Sera never missed a target?" she cocks her head to her side "Well, I don't know kid, I think she always tried to get her sight on everything that was happening around her. That's why I like my hair short you know? That way it doesn't come in my eyes when I'm trying to see things"

As Mae and her cousin are leaving, she listens a very bashful whisper from the kid "Sera…". "What was that about? You made that up, Mae. Valendrian never told us that." She whips her head towards Soris now "Children need elven heroes Soris, even if just to dream about it." She cocks her head in the children direction and Soris sees both the oldest ones playing tag to decide which would be Serah as well the smallest one messing with her ponytail so not a single lock of her pale-yellow hair falls in her face. He smiles at the scene "Yeah… I suppose you're right…"

As both are walking to meet Shianni and the other bridesmaids, Mae notices three male humans arriving with ill-intended looks at her friends. The first one tries to grab Nola by her arms, "It's a party, isn't it? Grab a whore and have a good time" His voice disgusts her, the way he looks at Shianni doesn't help his case at all as well. "Savor the hunt, boys. Take this little elven wench, here… so young and vulnerable" as the human makes as if going to hold Shianni by her face the red-haired short-tempered snaps at him "Touch me and I'll gut you, you pig!" 'Oh Shit!' Mae tries to run towards her cousin only to be held by Soris at the last second "I know what you're thinking, but maybe we shouldn't get involved…"

A little hurt by his comment, she glowers at him "Yes, objection noted. But if we don't do anything, Anny will get herself killed!". He lets her go "Fine. But let's try to be diplomatic, shall we?" Maeghan nods and gets closer to the commotion. "And what's this? Another lovely one come to keep me warm?" She feels her breakfast in her mouth at that, swallows it back again. "Look, let's just talk this over, shall we?"

"Ha! Maybe you should invite it over for dinner?" the other human, dumb mustached one speaks and, what apparently the leader of these spinless humans speaks again "Do you have any idea of who I am?". Well, he didn't get to finish that thought though, Shianni appears from his behind and bottles him straight in the back of his head. The other human speaks now "Are you insane?! This is Vaughan Urien, the arl of Denerim's son!" Mae sees all color fade from Shianni skin and tries to draw the attention to herself "Well… Maybe his father should've taught him better manners. Take him home. If you don't mention this, we won't"

"You have a lot of nerve, knife-ears. This will go badly for you."

Maeghan lets her breath out as the two other humans carry Vaughan away from the Alienage.
