Chapter 4: Weather changes on a dime at lunch
The bell rang for the end of Magic History as Tanza made her way out of the classroom. It was around lunch time for her and she figured that she would at least try to get to the cafeteria on time. As she was walking, she pondered something she was told earlier: She had to choose a club to enter by the end of the week or a club would be chosen for her. Stopping by the billboard that was outside the cafeteria, Tanza looked over the different club announcements to see what was available, but not before making sure her school uniform was in good shape.
While her dorm uniform was elegant and modest, her school uniform was a bit different. During the three weeks she was passed out from her 'incident' and not long after the original student was banished, Crowley talked with the head of her village to see about her attendance, which included her school uniform. From what Tanza was told after she woke up, she was supposed to be given an outfit like the rest of the boys in the school, but when her tailor aunt heard about this, she went ballistic and insisted on making a custom uniform for her dear niece. Though the headmaster at first went against it, eventually he agreed to it, with some negotiations in the design for the sake of the dignity of both Tanza and the boys at the school. But after wearing it a while, Tanza kinda wished she was there to at least discuss the minute details, but that's what happens when you're out cold and your people scramble to 'fill the hole' in their problem.
It was clear that Tanza's aunt put a lot of work into making the outfit, every stitch made with love and care, despite the shortness of the skirt. Falling a little past her thighs and above her knees, a black pleated skirt with a white frill graced her lower half, thankfully long enough to show some sort of modesty. But what the skirt couldn't cover up, the light grey full length leggings managed to fix. With permission from Vil, Tanza wore the black boots that came with her dorm uniform, reaching up to just below the kneecap, outlined with gold trimming, a gold steel toe at the tip of her foot and set with gold-colored laces. Above the waist area was a white bishop blouse with a thin round collar, her pink bolo tie and peridot green pendant standing out from the rest of her uniform. Around her torso was a underbust corset vest with golden buttons that was enchanted to change color to match the colors of her dorm, which was now royal purple. Out of all the pieces of clothing her aunt made for this uniform, that vest was the one that Tanza wished she was awake for, as it made her feel too exposed. But sadly her aunt didn't have enough material to make anything different at the time so she had to settle for what she was given, the staple attitude her people lived with and one that had Tanza gritting her teeth over. Around the stomach area and over the vest was a crimson red belt with a black buckle that held her vest in place, despite it sticking out just a little, something that Vil-san had overlooked for the time being. As for her hair, it was in it's usual single braid down the back while the top of her hair was tied with a golden yellow simple sash, the bottom of it tied under the braid to make it appear clean, despite the few strands of hair that managed to escape, something she couldn't help with her natural loose curly hair. After trying to move one of the strands behind her ear, Tanza looked over the billboard to see what clubs might be available.
"Hmmm…which one to pick?" she said to herself as she looked over her choices. She then gave a sad sigh, "Well even if I do choose one it's gonna be met with some sort of scrutiny. Of course I could always try and form my own club, but I don't think that would work out well, especially since I'm a freshmen here…and I doubt any boys here want to join a club where a girl is the leader…" she said, muttering the last bit quietly. She then went back to see about her options. "Hmmm, the horseback club seems like a good choice, but I'm more used to riding some of the elk and deer we have back at home, so that might not be the same" she said. Tanza then turned her attention to some of the other clubs, "Mountain lovers? That might be interesting, but we have a few mountains at home, and they are quite dangerous to scout, so I don't know if talking about them is a good idea" she muttered. "Hm? Film studies? That sounds interesting…and Vil-san is indeed in it, the founder, in fact. That might work, but I'll have to see about my other options…" Tanza said as she looked over the others. "Hmm….ooh, track and field" she said as she looked at the announcements. "Hehe, I always did do a run with the deer along the fences in the morning, so running in that club shouldn't be too bad. Plus, I've always done good with hurdles, so that should be pretty good" she muttered. "So many choices, but I'm not sure what to go with…" she said quietly.
The pondering of possibilities was cut short by the sound of a grumbling stomach.
"Haa…Maybe I can come up with a choice after lunch. I wonder what sort of food I can get here?" she said as she turned to walk into the cafeteria.
Walking in to the echoing hall, the smell of various types of dishes wavered in the air, hitting Tanza's nose hard. "Hmmm…I smell a lot of meats and fried foods….not sure if I can eat those after Vil-san's intense feelings on my potato cakes from the other day" she said to herself. "Maybe I can get a salad or something to go instead…" she added as she walked down the stairs into the hall. As she walked down, she felt eyes on her from everywhere, but while she tried to keep her head up like nothing was wrong, as Vil had instructed her, she kept quiet. Yet as she walked, she heard the male students whisper about her, some complimenting her looks and calling her cute, some saying rather vulgar things, and others questioning why she was at the school with the answers quickly given, but overall, it was making her uneasy. After taking a deep breath, she walked her way to the line of the buffet, trying to see what was on the menu today. However, as she stood in line, she felt something vibrate in the school bag she was carrying.
"Hm? Was that my phone?" she said a she pulled out the smartphone from her school bag. It was a simple design, a shoulder bag that was dark brown outlined in light brown with two covered pockets, one which held her phone and the other being currently empty. Her phone was also rather simple, a white smartphone that was covered by a semi-thick tanzanite blue protect that was covered in glitter, looking like the night sky without the moon. Going through the pocket, she pulled out her phone and saw that a text from Rook was sent to her. She quickly looked up to move in the lunch line before going back to the text that her vice dorm leader sent her. Being rather new to owning a smartphone after using an old fashioned form of letter delivery from her village, Tanza fumbled with the phone a bit, quietly cursing for every mistake she made, before finally finding the text.
'I see improvement, Dame au Trésor. Still like a newborn fawn on shaky legs but a few more miles and you'll be gracefully leaping in no time. Keep practicing, grow your confidence and soon you'll be able to interact with the young bucks in the NRC meadow. :deer emoji:' the text read.
Tanza jumped a bit in surprise, her phone jumping from her hands as she juggled to get it back in her grasp, which she did after a moment. She then looked around the cafeteria. 'He's here right now?' she thought to herself. But the more she looked, the more she couldn't see Rook anywhere. Confusion filled her gaze as she tried to look more, but still no sight. 'How did he…?' Tanza thought. But then she saw the gap in the line and quickly averted her thoughts to get back in the groove, giving quiet apologies to those around her. She then recalled Rook's words and took a deep breath, relaxing her stance again and rolling her shoulders back as she moved closer to the assortment of food.
After going through the line, Tanza couldn't find anything she found interesting to eat while sitting down, but when she reached the end where there were grab and go ready-made meals, she saw what appeared to be a bento box consisting of mostly cooked vegetables. Marinated tofu, curried butternut squash, sautéed kale, and more, all foods that surely Vil would see as acceptable for a meal. Seeing as how no one was grabbing them, she decided to take one, along with a fruit cup of apples and grapes and a bottle of cold lemon tea, sugar free of course. Once she paid for her meal, she made her way to go out of the cafeteria, figuring that she could find a place outside to eat.
'Ok, so far so good, nothing too awkward yet' she thought as she passed the line of people waiting for food, not making eye contact with anyone.
She managed to get to the steps leading into the room when…
"Oh. So the shy little rabbit finally came to the garden to eat, did she now?" a voice called from above her, very close to her face.
For there in front of her was a boyish looking teen with pink-like highlighted abstract cut black hair, raspberry red colored eyes, pale skin, pointed ears and a playful smile, which showed a hint of fangs. Dressed in a boys uniform of black and green with his uniform coat worn like a cape, there was something about him that seemed strange.
But Tanza didn't look at him long, for she jumped in fright, giving a scream while her arms flew up, tossing her lunch. But in a quick flash, one second she's there, the next a large cloud of dark blue smoke followed by the sound of loud crashing cymbals filled her place, and echoed through the large open hall. The students closest to what happened coughed and waved their arms to get rid of the dusty apparatus. As this happened, the cafeteria erupted into a commotion, some panicked, some surprised, some laughing at the unexpected sound of random cymbals, but majority confused as to what just transpired and asking around. The boy who scared her was also caught up in the smoke that just appeared out of nowhere as he tried to wave it away as well while coughing a bit.
"Gracious me, did I overdo it?" he asked himself as he cleared the dust a bit more. Just as this happened, two other people wearing the same uniform as the boy appeared before him.
"Lilia-senpai, are you alright?" asked one of the boys, a silver haired handsome young man, speaking in a quiet voice.
The black haired boy, Lilia, cleared his throat and looked to the silver haired boy, "Yes Silver, I'm alright now. But I certainly wasn't expecting that" he said as he dusted his uniform.
Silver looked around to see if the girl could be seen, but sadly, she was nowhere to be found. However, after moving his foot, he felt something under his feet. Looking down, he saw that it was a piece of marinated tofu.
The second boy who was with Silver, a student with light mint colored hair, looked at the ground as well. "What the- Did she turn into vegetables?" he asked, his voice a bit on the loud side, worry and fear filling his voice.
"No Sebek, she got one of those vegetarian based bentos. She must've tossed it by accident when she got scared by Lilia-senpai. But the question is where is she at? It doesn't look like she just turned into dust…" Silver said.
"No no, that was some form of teleportation magic. I sensed it after it activated. And it would seem that dust cloud was a side effect" Lilia said as he talked to the young men. "And it would appear that I owe her a meal since she tossed hers. I hope she's ok…" he said as he went to inform the ghosts of the mess that occurred.
-*v*v*v*v*v*v*v*-
"La la la~ Lunch time, lunch time, one of the best times of the day~" said a voice, singing while speaking. The owner was a small grey monster cat with blue flaming ears and same colored eyes, dressed in a black and white ribbon with a crystal around the neck. His smile was wide and his sharp teeth were present. He moved around the legs of three students happily while singing.
"Oi, Grim, don't linger around my feet" said one of the boys, a red head with a heart symbol on one of his eyes.
"Seriously, you're gonna cause one of us to trip someday" said another boy, this time one with black hair and a spade on one of his eyes.
The third boy, dressed in an odd uniform and looking a bit older than the other two, black hair and sharp eyes, walked close by, listening to the group but not saying much.
Just as the three were walking, the appearance of a dark blue smoke followed by the loud sounds of cymbals filled the space in front of them, scaring each of them to where they had to step back a bit to clear the smoke.
"What the-What is this? A bomb?" the heart eyed boy said in between coughs.
The sound of someone falling on the ground came from the smoke along with a small voice.
"N-ouch…." A female voice was heard.
"Huh? What was-" the spade eyed boy said as the smoke cleared.
There before the trio was a young woman in an unusual uniform and black hair, shocking the trio.
Tanza got to her feet and dusted herself before looking around at her surroundings, her back to the boys behind her.
"Huh? Wait, this isn't….Ah shoot, not again…" she said to herself, putting a hand to her forehead and muttering curses to herself in another language.
Just then the older boy of the trio spoke out to the young woman, "Are you alright?" he asked her.
Tanza tensed and then looked to the trio, heat prickling her cheeks a bit in embarrassment as she gave a shaky sigh, "W-Well this is awkward…" she said. She then cleared her throat and turned to the trio, "I'm sorry for the sudden appearance, I had no intention of being here…" she said.
"It's fine, but are you really ok? You look pretty flustered…" the spade eyed boy said.
"Plus, what was that magic just now? I thought a bomb was set off" asked the heart eyed boy.
Tanza gave a groan of embarrassment as she took a breath to calm herself, "That was my unique magic, Topsy Turvy. If I'm familiar with an area of a two mile radius, I can teleport anywhere within that radius. When I was younger, my magic often made a loud noise and gave off a cloud of dust and for many years I had practiced using it to where I didn't make any noise whatsoever, but unfortunately do to nerves getting the better of me in the cafeteria and getting scared out of my wits by that one boy, all that control was gone. Pretty sure everyone thinks a bomb went off in the cafeteria…" she said, embarrassment and shame filling her voice.
Just in that moment a loud growl was heard between the five souls standing in the area.
"Eh? What was that?" the spade eyed boy asked.
"Grim, calm your stomach will you?" the heart eyed boy said.
"Fnya, that wasn't me!" said the grey cat creature, Grim.
Tanza then started to sway a bit but she caught herself, "Sorry, that was my stomach…Looks like I left the bento I bought back there…." she said.
"Eh? Geeze that was loud, are you starving or something?" said the heart eyed boy.
"If I don't have control of my magic it can take a lot of energy when I teleport depending on how far I traveled…and since I was low on energy to start since I didn't eat I could only travel so far…not that I meant to anyway…" Tanza explained, holding her head a little.
"In that case…uhh,…let me see…" the spade eyed boy said as he searched through his bag. "Ah, I have a couple of cookies, some chocolate bars and an apple if you want some of those to tide you over" he said as he pulled out said food items.
Tanza hesitated a bit, unsure if she could trust the boy in front of her, but she could see in his eyes that he wanted to help her so she slowly took the apple from his hand. "Vil-san would kill me if he caught me eating candy and cookies, so this will do. Thank you….um…" she trailed off, not knowing the boys name.
"Oh, my name is Deuce. Deuce Spade" he said with a smile, happy that he could help.
"Thank you, Deuce" she said, returning his smile. Tanza took a bite of the apple and smiled at the sweet taste. She then looked at the other boys in the group before swallowing her bite. "And…you are?" she asked.
"Ah, I'm Ace. Ace Trappola. Nice to meet you" said the heart eyed boy.
"You as well" Tanza said as she took another bite. She then turned to the third boy as she swallowed, "And you?" she asked.
The third boy was about to answer when suddenly Grim jumped up on his shoulder.
"Nya haha I'm Grim, the soon to be greatest wizard at Night Raven College" he said with a big grin.
Tanza jolted, "Eek! Demon Cat!" she shouted, thankfully without teleporting this time.
Grim gave a frown, "I am not a demon cat! I'm not a cat to begin with!" he said, spatting back at her.
"Huh? But still how…Wait a minute…" she said, looking at the young man with Grim, "Sorry what was your name again?" she asked him, ignoring Grim.
"My name is Enma Yuuken, but everyone calls me Yuu" he said.
Tanza looked at him closely before moving to behind her neck and pulling out her light blue Crystaliam crystal that she showed both Vil and Rook before. "Excuse me for a moment" she said. She then brought it close to Yuu and whispered while chanting a small spell with her eyes closed.
In that moment, the crystal began to glow like a candle in the darkness and from that a sky blue light could be seen from Yuu, a feeling of a gentle warmth going through his body, like water in a deep hot spring. From this, he felt no malice from this power, but rather, it felt more like a gentle hug.
After a moment, the glow left Yuu's body and Tanza opened her eyes, lowering the crystal in her hands, "That's weird, I sense no magic from you at all….but only those with magic can get in to this school so how is it that you…" she asked, confused.
"Ah, Grim and I are attending as one student. It's a long story" Yuu said with a sweatdrop.
"I see. Well hopefully I can hear the whole story someday" she said with a smile, finishing the last of her apple and putting the necklace back around her neck.
"Whoa, wait a second, that crystal. That wouldn't be by chance….Crystaliam crystal, would it?" Ace asked, his voice shaky.
"What? Crystaliam? You mean that extremely rare mineral that is only mined in a certain place?" Deuce asked, his tone full of surprise and shock.
"Hm?" Tanza said as she turned to look at them, "Yes, it is Crystaliam. And I'm from that specific place, Hollytinne" she said.
"EHHHHHHH?!" the two boys shouted in shock and slight fear.
Grim and Yuu just looked on in confusion, having no idea what the three were talking about.
Tanza's gaze then turned to slight anger, "You got a problem with me being here or something?" she asked, offensiveness in her tones.
Ace raised his hands, "No no, it's just….I've heard that Hollytinne is said to be a very secretive village that doesn't allow anyone in except through a special ritual and those who don't do so are chased down by a headless demon, is that true?" he asked.
"Well, yes and no. The being in question is one who we call the Headless Guardian. You'll know that you're in danger if you hear his cackle in the air and the sound of thunderous hooves riding across the land" she explained calmly, "However, after our village made peace with the Rose Kingdom's royal family, we were allowed to keep our independence but we were asked to open our town to allow commerce and trade. Unfortunately, the Great Spirits of the land and the elders were not too fond of the idea of completely opening up the village to tourists and such, so we agreed to allow those who wish to enter Hollytinne to go through this ritual to get permission from the great spirits to enter. However, there are times when you can enter without the ritual, albeit only during short periods of the year" Tanza explained.
"I see…there is one other rumor if I may ask about…" Ace asked her, his voice a bit calmer now.
"And what is that, may I ask?" Tanza asked.
Ace was about to ask his question when a phone started ringing.
"Ah! That's me" Tanza said as she fiddled with her bag. She took out her phone and started messing with it to try and get it to answer.
"Yes? Hello?" she asked, her voice in a slight panic since she was still not used to it.
"Tanza? It's Vil. Where are you right now?" Vil asked on the other end of the phone line.
"I'm at the street where the statues of the Great Seven are, why?" she answered.
"You stay right there, I'll be there shortly" he said and then he hung up.
After hanging up, Tanza got a small napkin from her bag and placed her apple core inside it, intending to put it in the trash later since there were none nearby as of now. She then looked at the boys.
"Sorry about that, Vil-san called. Something tells me that I'm in trouble after the chaos from a bit ago…" she said, a sweatdrop forming on her face.
"Ah, that's right, you said that someone scared you, didn't you?" Deuce asked, "Do you remember who it was?" he added.
Tanza thought back to the boy, "Umm….he seemed small. He had black hair with some pink in it. And he was wearing a black and green uniform while hanging upside down…but that's all I can remember as of now" she said as she explained her memory.
"That description…that sounds like it could've been Lilia-senpai of Diasomnia" Ace said as he thought of who it could've been.
"You know him?" Tanza asked.
"Not personally, but he does tend to pull tricks of hanging upside down to scare people" Ace explained.
"Yeah, but as far as I know, he doesn't do it to cause harm. It's almost like a cousin who wants to scare to make people laugh, or something like that. Kinda like a jokester" Deuce explained.
"I see….then maybe I overreacted at his surprise…but then again I was already feeling tense to begin with…" Tanza said, a look of guilt on her face.
Yuu then spoke, "Did something happen?" he asked, concern plainly written on his face.
Tanza read his gaze and her eyes widened, "Not in the sense of any inappropriate physical contact if that's what you're thinking" she said, making that very clear. "Rather…" she started. She then went on to tell the boys of the whispering she had heard as she went through the line at lunch earlier. The more she explained the more uneasy she became, but she took a few breaths to calm herself down.
The boys said nothing for a moment but then Deuce spoke.
"Personally, I have nothing wrong with that. Anyone can become a great wizard regardless of gender. And sure while I do find it a bit strange to have a girl in an all boys school, you don't seem to be the type to…well…you know" he said, unsure of what to call her.
"Of course I wouldn't do that. Who would?" Tanza said to him, her voice raised in slight offense.
Deuce tensed at her words, "Ah, sorry, I meant no offense" he said apologetically.
Tanza calmed down a bit, "No, I'm sorry. That whole picture is just a bit testy for me. Especially the 's' word that most girls like me would get for being here" she said as she apologized.
Ace, Deuce and Yuu kept quiet at that.
"Hm? 'S' word? You mean like 'Salmon'?" Grim asked innocently.
"Huh? Salmon? What made you think the 's' word was salmon?" Tanza asked, confused.
"It's the only 'S' word I can think of, and I see nothing wrong with being called a salmon. They're delicious, and your eyes reminds me of sparkly salmon skin" Grim said with a cheeky smile, pointing to her dusted silver eyeshadow.
"Huh?!" Tanza said dumbfounded.
"Oi Grim, don't go calling a girl those words, that is flat out rude!" Deuce said angrily.
"Yeah, what girl would actually want to be compared to a fish? That's just asking for a slap in the face" Ace scolded, brow furrowed.
"I can't help it. I'm hungry!" Grim said back at the boys.
The three of them started to argue while Yuu and Tanza watched on.
Yuu then turned to Tanza, an awkward gaze on his face, "Sorry about Grim. He often thinks with his stomach" he said as he apologized.
Tanza just stood there confused, until she remembered Vil's words about how to make lemons not be sour and one of the dishes he mentioned was lemon rosemary salmon. It was then that she clicked his lesson to the situation at hand, and like that a lightbulb went off in her head. It was clear that these guys weren't going to harm her in any way and seeing Ace and Deuce take down Grim for calling her something the most girls would indeed slap a guy for, the whole thing made her relax. 'Is this what Vil-san meant by finding a new way? If so, maybe this could work. Just seeing them like this is just like how the boys are at home, how nostalgic' she said to herself as she gave a smile. Just then she felt a bubbling feeling rise in her chest and she gave a huff, followed by a laugh which caused all the boys in front of her to stop and stare.
She then turned to Yuu, "No no, think nothing of it. If anything, Grim helped me realize something and I'm just laughing at how I didn't recognize it. Anyway, you guys don't seem to be like a bad bunch, so how about we go and have lunch together? That was where you guys were heading before, right?" she asked them.
"Huh? Um, yeah. But I don't know how Grim was much help" Deuce said, confused by her actions.
Tanza gave a small chuckle, "Lets just say that lemons are an important fruit to understand how you can live life" she said.
The group was still confused, but then Grim's stomach rumbled.
"I'm so hungry…" he said.
"Geh, we better hurry if we're gonna get any of the good food" Ace said as he looked at his watch.
"Hopefully they still have some omlette rice left" Deuce said.
"I could go for a bite" Yuu said.
"Right, I should have enough to buy another bento" Tanza said as she looked through her wallet.
"That won't be necessary, Tanza" said a familiar voice.
Tanza turned around to see both Vil, Rook, and the boy who scared Tanza earlier heading their way.
"Ah! Vil-san, Rook-san! And…oh…" Tanza said as she looked at the young man in green. "I'm sorry for how I reacted earlier, I shouldn't have caused a scene" she said apologetically to the young man.
"Why are you apologizing? I was the one who scared you. What was intended to be a harmless prank ended up being done at the wrong time, so I'm the one at fault. Plus, I made you toss your bento. Therefore…I bought the food items you had originally purchased so you wouldn't go hungry" he then handed a plastic bag to Tanza, consisting of the same food items from before, vegetable bento, apple and grape fruit cup and a sugar free lemon tea. She also saw what appeared to be a pudding cup and looked at the boy, who gave a small chuckle. "That last one is an extra gift. Hopefully it'll make the day go better. Also, if you ever want to stay in the cafeteria, the table at Diasomnia is always open. I'll make sure the young ones are friendly to you" he said with a smile.
Tanza smiled back as she held the items. "Thank you…ummm…Lilia, right?" she asked, recalling what the card duo said earlier.
"Indeed. I'm Lilia Vanrouge, vice housewarden of Diasomnia. And forgive me but I seem to have forgotten your name" Lilia said as he put a hand to his chin in question.
"Oh, I'm Tanza. Tanza Frallen" Tanza said with a smile, "Thank you again, Lilia-senpai" she added.
Lilia gave a small chuckle "You're quite welcome, Tanza-chan" he said, "Now then, if you'll excuse me, I have to go and find my housewarden. It seems he's disappeared again. Farewell for now, and have a nice day" he added as he teleported away.
Tanza gave a small chuckle as she looked to Rook and Vil, "Everything is fine now, but I'm sorry for the ruckus earlier…" she apologized.
"Lilia told us what had happened so you were not at fault, but Rook said you still looked tense. Did something happen before you entered the cafeteria?" Vil asked, his gaze showing both worry and slight scorn.
"Right, I should explain that. But first," Tanza said, pausing before turning around to look at the four behind her, "I think you guys should go on ahead. The cafeteria might be out of food if you don't go there now" she said to them.
"Eh? You're not coming with us?" Ace asked.
"Well this is gonna take a bit and I don't wanna keep you boys from eating. But if you guys want, we can eat together tomorrow" Tanza suggested.
"Tomorrow eh?" Deuce asked as he looked at his watch. "I think I can make that, how about you guys?" he asked the group.
"I'm down for tomorrow. Shall we meet in front of the Cafeteria?" Ace asked.
"Yep, I'm good for that" Grim said.
"Then lets hurry, I'm dying to get some omelet rice!" Deuce said.
The trio nodded, with Yuu looking back at Tanza, "See you tomorrow!" he said, earning a nod and a wave from her.
"See you guys then!" she replied.
"Bye bye….uhh….salmon skin!" Grim shouted as they ran.
"Her name is Tanza!" Ace and Deuce shouted at the same time, both of them scolding Grim for his weird nickname.
"I wasn't paying attention so I didn't know what to call her!" Grim shouted as he went with the group.
Tanza watched on as they argued and couldn't help but laugh at the sight. She then turned her attention to Rook who had a smile from ear to ear, which made her confused.
"What?" she asked.
"I'm just happy to see you finally interacting with people without being so tense" he said happily.
Vil smiled as well while nodding, "Indeed. For a moment I thought you would go straight back to Pomefiore and hide, hence why I called you. But low and behold the moment Rook, Lilia and I find you, you're interacting with those boys and weird cat thing. And not just that, but we heard you laugh for the first time" he said, a small look of pride showing upon his face.
Tanza smiled back, "Well I had to try another way to not make lemons sour, just as you suggested. But little did I realize that it would be with a cat demon thing who said my eye shadow was like 'sparkly salmon skin'" she said with a chuckle.
"Ahhh, so that's what that was about. I couldn't hear everything so it was hard to tell what it was talking about but now that makes sense, albeit somewhat insulting" Vil said.
Tanza nodded, "Yeah. Anyway, I should explain everything to you" she said.
"Yes but please make it quick, I have to get to a housewarden's meeting here soon" Vil said.
Tanza then went on to explain all that happened that day, to which Vil gave her a scolding, but she took it as a means to improve. Once she was finished, she left Vil and Rook to find a place to eat her now late lunch. As she ate the marinated tofu in her bento, she grew excited at the thought of meeting up with her new friends tomorrow, she just hoped that everything would go smoothly. After all, school life is meant to be made with good memories, not all bad ones, or at least that was what she was told. Weather or not it is true is yet to be seen, but so far, it seems like sunny weather is on the way.
