I want to add something that I feel I should also address:

that the idea of Ann's daughter being ugly-looking is intentionally off-putting as a concept. The idea here was never to "throw Ann under the bus" by implying she has shitty genes (nor was it meant to be implying that an ugly person inpregnated Ann) or anything, as I've seen some people pick up as my intention in the past, it was always meant to be something where you understand that Mindy should never have been born, because she's so wrong, and doesn't reflect Ann's beauty at all. I mean, I feel like I emphasized that enough in all the stories involving Mindy, but I just want to reiterate that.

The main idea with Mindy was that Ann basically just plucked what should've been a mistake from out of an alt timeline so that she can use it as a thing to beat and torture, to let her cacophobia out on (this is also why I constantly had Ann refer to her as an abortion; it's meant somewhat literally, given that she was supposed to be miscarriage)

With all of this in mind, it was never really supposed to be about "child abuse" in the traditional sense, which is primarily why I think that people labelling it that way has been misleading. Then again, that's partly on me.
