Philip's Hellfire

I do not own "Owl House" or "Hellfire". I was listening to this song and thought I'd make this story for fun. Philip/Belos is kind of like Frollo.

It was a peaceful evening on the Boiling Isles as all the witches and demons walked the streets of Bonesborough in the Deadwardian Era. The sun was starting to go down and most witches and demons were on their way home, and among them was young handsome human named Caleb Wittebane. He walked the street and happily glanced around with his Palisman Flapjack resting on his shoulder. He had been living on the Boiling Isles for over five years; he had come to this realm when he met a witch who brought him here. At first he found this realm frightening but he had come to love it as his new home and no longer wanted to return to the human world.

As he walked he looked at people with a friendly smile and said, "Good evening Mr. Blight. Hello Mrs. Porter. Greetings Mrs. Park."

The last witch he passed smiled and waved at him while she happily said, "Goodnight Caleb. See you tomorrow."

Caleb stopped and smiled happily as he looked at everyone and proudly said, "Such kind witches."

On his shoulder Flapjack chirped and he smiled down at him and said, "Yes they are wonderful. So much better than the people I knew back home."

Caleb was startled as he heard a familiar voice say, "Those crazed killers?"

He turned around and smiled as he saw the witch who spoke; she was the same age as him and was beautiful as she wore a long purple dress and a red hooded cloak. Her skin was very pail, she had long nails, her eyes were green, and she had short, thick, messy, red hair. It was none other than the very witch who had brought Caleb to the Demon Realm, his fiancée, Griselda Clawthorne.

He smiled lovingly as he walked to her with his arms out and exclaimed, "Griselda!"

She put her arms out and he pulled her into a tender hug and then kissed her on the cheek before letting her go.

She blushed briefly and said, "Good to see you too honey."

He held her hand and happily said, "I was just on my way home. What are you doing here?"

Griselda smiled as she pointed her thumb back and said, "Well my parents asked if they could join us for dinner and I thought I should ask you first."

Caleb smiled excitedly as he said, "Oh that's a wonderful idea! Perhaps Philip could join us too."

Griselda looked uneasy as she said, "I'm not sure that's a good idea honey. I hardly know your brother and I'm not sure he even likes me. I don't think he likes any witches really."

Caleb was understanding as he said, "I know he does have issues with the Boiling Isles and he does have trouble putting the old ways behind him. I've been working so hard to get the portal door working. If he truly doesn't want to stay here I will send him back. But I think he's starting to change his mind. I've seen him acting so polite with witches and demons lately, and they have been helping him so much lately. I talked to him earlier and he said he would like to get to know you someday. You should give him a chance"

Griselda looked skeptical but agreed as she said, "Alright. I'll give him a chance, for you, but another day. Tonight let's just enjoy dinner with my parents."

Caleb smiled and nodded as he said, "Fair enough. Thank you."

Flapjack suddenly flew next to his head and chirped and Caleb smiled deviously as he stared at Griselda.

Griselda pointed at him and said, "I know that look. What are you thinking?"

Flapjack magically transformed into a staff and Caleb got on him and scooped Griselda up on it so she would sit on it with him and they both flew high in the air. They stopped where they could get a view of the Boiling Isles from above and see the entire Titan.

Caleb smiled at Griselda and lovingly said, "We were thinking it would be nice to watch the sunset together."

Griselda smiled as she leaned against him and said, "You always know how to brighten the day."

Caleb looked at the sun and the stars as he happily said, "This reminds me of my first day here, you brought me up here to show me how beautiful the Boiling Isles can be."

Griselda rested her head on his shoulder as she fondly said, "Yes. Sweet memories."

Caleb looked down at her as he happily said, "Very sweet memories. One day, we'll tell our children how we met."

They both remained silent as they watched the sunset; unbeknownst to them Caleb's brother Philip was watching them from below. He was looking out through the window of a second-floor house, where he had been staying for a few weeks. Caleb and Griselda were high in the air but he could still see them as he stared with intense hatred. He had been spying on them for a while now and knew that his brother was going to marry this witch, he tried to talk him out of it but Caleb loved her. He hated the demon realm and everything in it, and he would never have a witch for a sister-in-law. As he stared up at the two of them he could hear some demons singing nearby and music started playing. Philip started singing as he looked at them in the sky and turned away from the window and walked toward the mini fireplace.

Philip: "Caleb my brother,

I know you are a noble man.

Of your virtue I am very proud.

Caleb my brother,

You are so much purer than

Anyone else in this realm of the dark cloud!"

As he kept singing he angrily looked down at the fire in hatred and imagined the fire taking shape to look like Caleb and Griselda holding hands and staring at each other lovingly.

Philip: "But tell me my brother

Why you love that monster there,

What you see in that wicked crone.

I see her, no other!

That horrid witch with bright red hair

Even now she burns my skin and bone!"

The fiery visions of Caleb and Griselda looked as though they were getting married already and were about to kiss, and this vision frightened and repulsed Philip as he backed away as he kept singing. He pulled out a mask Caleb used to wear when they were children and looked at it with a troubled expression as he became angry.

Philip: "Like fire! Hellfire!

This fire burns my skin!

This horrid desire

Is causing you to sin!"

He dropped the mask and dropped to his knees in sorrow, then he imagined a mob of humans around him, in two rows at the opposite walls of the room. He got up and turned to them with a scared expression, and between every verse they sang a single line while angrily holding up torches and pitch forks. He ran toward the door before heading back toward the fireplace as he looked up at the mob with fear and kept singing.

Philip: "It's not his fault!"

Mob: "Repentance!"

Philip: "He's not to blame!"

Mob: "Repentance!"

Philip: "It is the wicked one, the witch, who sent this flame!"

Mob: "So much repentance!"

Philip: "It's not his fault!"

Mob: "Repentance!"

Philip: "Please have ruth!"

Mob: "Repentance!"

Philip: "He is too blind to clearly see the truuuuuuth!"

The mob disappeared and Philip looked up at the ceiling in distress as he kept singing, and the imaginary Caleb and Griselda kept holding hances as they danced in the fire. Philip desperately looked down at his hands before clinching his fists, then he pulled a large jagged dagger and held it out as he angrily stared up in the air. The imaginary Caleb disappeared and the imaginary Griselda was alone and she looked scared as she screamed in fear before bursting into flames and vanishing. Then a life-size imaginary Caleb stood next to Philip as he pointed his dagger out and they both smiled ambitiously while staring into space.

Philip: "Be careful Caleb uh,

Don't let this temptress cast her spell!

Don't let her evil corrupt your pure heart!

I'll kill you Griselda!

And send you to the fires of Hell!

And together he and I will tear this world apart!"

Suddenly he heard someone knock on the door and immediately turned around and hid his dagger behind his back. The door opened to reveal a short demon girl with red skin and hair that resembled a hand with claws.

The demon girl spoke respectfully as she said, "Mr. Whittebane, your brother said they do not want you to join them for dinner."

Philip was shocked as he said, "What?"

The girl politely said, "He said his fiancée isn't ready to meet you yet."

Philip glanced down before politely dismissing her as he said, "But… Very well. Thank you Fifi. Leave me please."

She did as he said and left him, then Philip furiously turned back to the fireplace and clinched his dagger tightly.

He gritted his teeth as he furiously said, "I'll kill her! I swear if takes an eternity I'll kill her and every other monster in this realm!"

He stared at the burning fire then stared at his dagger while he started singing again, then he dug his dagger into the wall above the fireplace. He backed away and looked emotional as he turned around and looked upward while clinching both of his fists in front of his body. Then he turned back to the fire and sang angrily as he got on his knees and raised both his fists in the air.

Philip: "Hellfire! Dark fire!

Griselda it's your turn!

I'll tie you to a pier!

I swear that you will burn!

I'll save Caleb from her.

And together we'll save humanity.

But first I'll get that witch and

She… Will… Burrrrrrrn!"

He stopped singing and composed himself as he stood up and put away his knife and straightened his outfit calmly. He pulled out his journal and began writing in it while also putting in lies about how he looked forward to meeting his future sister-in-law.

Author's note: I'm back baby! I hope to do more fanfictions in the near future. I've been thinking of "Owl House" a lot and I do like prequel stories. I do hope they somehow reveal the whole story of Philip, Caleb, and that mysterious witch.
