Chapter 4-

Trial time. The sun light that barely made its way into Azula's holding cell was getting bright. Yesterday evening she had been moved from the asylum to a tiny cell near the courtrooms location for easiness of transport.

It was dawn. And firebenders rise with the dawn. Azula was up and she had to get her mind into the game phase.

It was time. She will win. She always wins. She will be perfect. So until the trial starts she sits in the small sunlight she gets and meditates.

Dawn. Zuko rises with the sun. He pulls on his robe and slips out of the room trying not to wake up Mai. Today his Azula's trial and he was terrified. Today he would be sentencing his sister. That is unless, she came up with some crazy ass way to get out of all punishment. But that has never happened in all the the world's history so the chances of that happening today were about one in a million. Then again this is Azula, he would need to be prepared for anything.

Zuko headed to the breakfast table where he ate alone silently guarded by palace soldiers. After breakfast he had gone to get ready while the rest of trial member woke up and followed the same routine. The fire nation palace is huge so most of them didn't run into each other. After ever one had gotten dressed they headed to the front of the palace. Each representative took a different transport to the court house. Once they all arrived and got seated it was time to bring the prisoner in.

Azula sits for about 3 hours simply meditating. She knows her mind must be completely calm if she is going to win this. As far as she has heard no one has ever won a war criminal trial as the defendant but she isn't anyone. Princess Azula is more the good enough. She's perfect.

The door of her cell opened with a screeching noise and Azula jumped back a little bit to avoid getting hit.

The first to step in was the doctors carrying a syringe each. Next were the 3 nurses holding a straight jacket, foot chains, and a brush and hair tie. Finally at the door stood 4 Fire Nation guards dressed in armor each wearing a mask and holding a spear. The nurse that held the straight jacket approached Azula. She knew how this routine went so she went along with it. She was strapped to the bed and her sleeve was pulled up. This revived small bruises and scratch marks that she had received by the doctors in the weeks before. Both syringes were jammed into her shoulder and with small bandages covering the wounds. The straight jacket was next. The leg cuffs.

She hated both of them so, so much. The straightjacket especially was so uncomfortable and it contorted her limbs. The chains were restrictive and made for limited movement, but she bit her lip and dealt with it, knowing that resisting wouldn't do her image much good.

Finally she turned around in front of the nurse holding a brush. The nurse roughly went through Azula's hair she then tied it up in a bun just a bit lower than the royal top it she was used to. Azula was hauled up and dragged out of her cell by the four guards. Once she got use to the leg cuffs she was able to walk on her own with the guard no less than an inch away.

They all stopped when they got to the metal doors and two Earthbenders pulled the door open and a bright white light flooded Azula's vision. She was shoved into the courtroom as she felt all eyes fall on to her. Each person in the room held some sort of face of anger on disdain. That's when her eyes fell on to Zuko who was looking more like her day every day. His eyes held a different expression. The same one their mom always has for Azula. Disappointment.

Azula walked down the aisle. Chains clicking and clacking making much noise. Azula herself however was perfectly quiet, she wouldn't give any of these bastards the pleasure of watching her despair or cry over how unfair the situation was. She would be calm and collected to the very end, even if she loses.

Once they made it to the front of the room she sat down and the guards backed up. The courtroom was painted in different colors. The seats behind her were occupied by the witnesses from the earth kingdom and water tribes. In the front row however sat the Avatar and his lackeys.

The water tribe wench sat next to short earthbending gremlin who sat next to Suki who sat next to Sokka. In front of her was the panel of judges each a world leader. Chief Arnook sat at the far left, chief Hakoda sat in on the right, raised above the other leaders the avatar sat, next to him on the right was King Kuei and finally Fire Lord Zuko sat on the gatherers right.

Azula took her seat maintaining a emotionless face. With everyone giving her such mean looks she wasn't going to return it not yet. Azula took one look at the faces of the judges the. Turned around and gave a smirk and head nod to the crowd. She then sat forward emotionless, cold, calculating. She sat with the perfect poise of the princess she was. The Avatar raised his head and with a seldom expression said :

"Let the trial begin!"
