Chapter 372: The End and the Beginning

"Please remember, when you come into contact with the Sin Demons, first give them the sea fish you are carrying with you. The wild Sin Demons will get a good first impression of you."

Joshua once again made a cameo appearance as a tour guide.

The four ladies, led by Gallolie, came to see Joshua as soon as he left the hall. They were all hoping to see the legendary "colony of Sin Demons".

After learning that Zenarth had already informed his people of the attitude the visiting humans held towards them, Joshua allowed the four actresses to be the first humans to enter the Abyss of Sin.

Before going to the Demon Realm, Joshua had suggested that these noble ladies bring some seafood with them.

It was thanks to these fishy gifts that the troupe members had successfully mingled with the demons at the edge of the Abyss of Sin.

"Mr. Joshua, don't you want to take a group photo?"

Gallolie had been pressing the shutter of the camera almost non-stop since the beginning of the visit.

"Forget the group photo, hey! Don't pick up the young Sin Demons over there! Be careful of the flames they spit out of their mouths!" Joshua shouted to the girls over on the other side.

Today was a festival for this town of Sin Demons, as the four 'worshipping pilgrims' had brought a whole cart full of tributes.

It was filled with all kinds of fresh sea fish and some other food never seen before in the Demon Realm.

The Sin Demons saw how sincere the four 'pilgrims' were, reducing their fear of humans.

It didn't take long for Zenarth to set up a makeshift fish stall under Joshua's direction. This had somewhat turned the pilgrimage into an open-air barbecue party.

The smell of fish in the air did not bring any joy to Joshua's heart, but rather sadness.

Although the Demon Realm had some great sceneries, the environment was not very good. The amount of land that could be reclaimed was pitiful, and even more pathetic were the number of surrounding animals that could be hunted and killed.

The Sin Demons here could survive by drawing energy from the abyss, which also meant that many of them had never touched real food.

Joshua looked at the burning campfire in the distance and fell into silence, before being snapped out of his musings through the sound of footsteps approaching him from behind.

Someone had come through the portal.

Joshua looked back and saw that it was another general. It was Fesley, whom he had met in the dwarven mines of Norland last time.

"General Voss, we have finished sorting and loading the supplies, it is time for us to go back to the front…"

The words that Fesley wanted to say next were stuck in his throat, and a surprised expression appeared on his face.

General Voss, who had been guarding the border fortress and was a menace to any human army, was now spreading his palm for a human girl to touch.

"What … are you doing, General?" Fesley asked, gently tilting his head.

"I'm performing a ritual." General Voss solemnly replied.

After his encounter with the four human girls, he had been convinced by Zenarth's words.

No human had ever been so happy to touch his palm. The humans he remembered would be so frightened at the sight of his claws that they would drop their swords.

Although General Voss was still skeptical about the purpose of these humans, there was no denying that the tribute they had brought was a great help to his people.

"A ritual?"

He knew that a delegation of human emissaries would come to visit this place, but General Voss, who had always regarded humans as enemies, had been so quick to compromise with these humans.

"Uhm, Gallolie. I think we should get back to work too. Your mother just sent me a message."

Joshua forcibly kept his face expressionless, trying his best not to laugh at the interaction between Voss and Fesley.

The arrival of General Fesley had also reminded Joshua that the purpose of his visit to the Demon Realm was not to go on a tourist trip.

Although the four girls were very reluctant to let go of these soft creatures, they obediently followed Joshua because of Madam Schroder's authority.

"General Fesley." Joshua stopped when he passed the general and whispered in his ear, "Although I don't quite understand the situation in the border fortress, please be careful of the Nation of the Holy Church. If the soldiers in the border fortress start experiencing any manic symptoms, use this."

Joshua handed a raw piece of ore to the general, and without waiting for him to ask what the function of this piece of ore was, Joshua stepped into the portal.

...

A day later, in a forest on the border of the Nation of Frost.

"I'm honoured to be able to accompany you, Prince Xavier, on your expedition."

A middle-aged general with a mustache said to the gray-haired, gray-eyed prince beside him, taking off his helmet.

"It is I who am honoured, to go to war with Marshal Amter, the commander of the southern army."

Xavier looked at the two-meter-tall general next to him and bowed his head slightly to salute him.

As Xavier did so, a silver-coloured ball of light suddenly flew out from his shoulder.

"It seems that frost spirits really exist. But I heard that the frost spirits only recognize women as their masters." Marshal Amter looked at the pure white ball of light in amazement.

When Xavier heard the latter half of Marshal Amter's sentence, his face crumbled for a moment, but he soon managed to squeeze out a somewhat ugly smile.

"It's just a legend, after all."

"Yes! It's just a legend! And please forgive my useless son who mistook you for a woman the first time he saw you, Prince. I have disciplined him well."

Marshal Amter's laughter sounded a bit annoying to Prince Xavier, but the marshal didn't mean to mock him.

The frost spirit on his shoulder began to suddenly move, as if uncomfortable, when Xavier was about to say something else.

"What's wrong?" Xavier glanced at the frost spirit lying on his shoulders and turned around to look behind him.

Gathered here was the Second Legion led by Xavier and the Southern Army led by Marshal Amter.

The huge Southern Army vanguard had over 5,000 elite knights, while the Second Legion led by Xavier only had about 3,000.

"Is the frost spirit worried that we will fall into the endless ice cliffs? Don't worry, the Southern Army has been traveling these roads for decades. Unless the snow on Mount Murtagh collapses and triggers an avalanche, not a single single soldier will fall off the ice cliffs," Marshal Amter said.

To the left of this huge army was a dangerous, bottomless cliff. This road was the fastest way to the front.

"No ... that's not what the frost spirit is afraid of." Prince Xavier immediately raised his head, feeling something dangerous approaching.

And when he looked up, he saw a silvery-white shadow in the sky approaching this place.

"Marshal Amter! Up in the sky!" Amter had also realized the approaching danger. But when he ordered the knights behind him to prepare for battle, it was already too late.

Not that it would have helped even if they had been battle-ready.

The creature coming from the sky towards the ground was … a giant dragon!

"Why is the Ice Dragon Muskos here…"

Marshal Amter instantly recognized the creature covered in ice blue scales.

"Muskos? That's the ice dragon that used to guard the frost elves ..." Xavier also seemed to have heard of this dragon. he had already drawn his longsword, but his horse was neighing uncomfortably.

As the panic spread, the horses started to neigh louder.

"I don't know! I haven't seen this dragon since the frost elven tribe disappeared. Damn it ... Mages! Set up a defensive line first!" marshal Amter shouted at the army behind him, but in the next second, an even more terrifying sound buried his shouting.

It was the roar of the ice dragon, which was loud enough to pierce the eardrums of any living creature. When Xavier heard this roar, he felt something seep into his consciousness.

The horses went into a complete frenzy.

Thousands of mages had already constructed defensive magic, but when the ice dragon landed on a mountain not far away, the earth began to tremble!

A terrible thought emerged in Xavier's mind.

It seemed that … there really would be an avalanche.
