Chapter 376 - The Truth

"May the God of Holy Light protect you."

A warm holy light gathered at the fingertips of a white-robed cleric, which soon enveloped Marshal Amter's frostbitten leg.

The wound, through which the bones exposed by the ice dragon's breath could be seen, was quickly healed by the light.

"It's during such situations that the runes of the Holy Light system show their use," Marshal Amter said as he took another sip of his wine.

"There is no greater miracle in the world than being able to save lives," the white-robed missionary said to Marshal Amter with a warm smile on his face.

"If you'll excuse me, cleric Ord, there are many wounded knights over there you should be attending to."

Xavier pointed to a temporary tent in the distance that'd been set up for the wounded.

"It is unfortunate that we've been attacked by an unhinged dragon. But don't worry, Prince Xavier, the protection of the God of Light will save us."

With these words, the white cleric walked away on crutches towards the tent in the distance.

Xavier watched the cleric's back as he left without saying a word. He opened the interface of his magic network to take a look.

It had been more than ten minutes since Firebringer's last message. It seemed that Firebringer was either in some kind of trouble or had some work to do for the moment, so Xavier had not heard back from him in the meantime.

"All this was caused by the heresy tribunal of the Nation of the Holy Church."

But Firebringer's last words had left Xavier disturbed.

Xavier had sensed that the ice dragon attack had been deliberately orchestrated by someone whose goal was not only to kill him, but also destroy the Second and Southern Legions of the Nation of Frost.

Without the aid of Firebringer, the entire bottom of the canyon would have turned into a slaughterhouse. With that strange disease spreading, Xavier was certain that no one would have survived.

Xavier could not believe that the Nation of the Holy Church was behind it all. He had to find Firebringer and find out why.

"These cuckoo-like chaps really are reliable as allies, aren't they? Your Royal Highness."

Marshal Amter's voice interrupted Xavier's thoughts.

"Mh."

Xavier looked in the direction of the tent that clerics in their white robes were entering.

They were followers of the Nation of the Holy Church. The Nation of Frost and the Holy Church had formed an alliance for the war.

In addition to this, the Holy Church had also sent its clerics, who were masters of the Holy Light system, to join the frost legion.

Although Xavier was not a fan of the doctrine they preached, he could not deny that the magic of the Holy Light system had saved countless dying knights on the battlefield.

"They are indeed reliable allies, and with them in the army, no soldier will die of disease."

As Xavier gazed into the tent, several female clerics dressed in white seemed to sense Xavier's gaze, which caused them all to walk into the tent with blushing faces. The panicked atmosphere caused by the ice dragon attack had already dissipated gradually.

"If only my son was half as charming as you are, Your Royal Highness! Hahahaha …"

Facing Marshal Amter's teasing, Xavier had a stiff smile on his face, not knowing how to answer. "…"

""Don't worry, Your Royal Highness, after you inherit the king's position, you will be free to choose any girl from the Holy Church," Marshal Amter said, patting Xavier with a look that only a man could understand.

"That will take a while."

Xavier replied to Marshal Amter's joke, as his eyes fell on the magic network's messenger interface, keeping an eye out for messages from Firebringer.

It had been 20 minutes now, and Xavier had repeatedly sent several owl emojis to Firebringer, asking if he was available. But Firebringer had still not replied.

Xavier inexplicably became more anxious.

"What are you doing at the moment?"

Xavier sent another message, followed by an emoji of a lone owl waiting as it counted its feathers.

...

In the Demon Realm, it was nearing night.

"This is the end of Act III! You can all go and enjoy your dinner now."

Joshua, on the director's chair, to announce the end of the third act of the Avatar movie script.

On the film set, a group of Na'vi nearly two metres tall slowly transformed back into their human forms under the effect of Purple Mage's runes.

Purple Mage had put special runes on the actors. By inputting magic into the runes, the actors could automatically activate the illusion and transform themselves into Na'vi.

With the help of Purple Mage, the master of illusions, the filming of the Avatar movie was progressing very quickly. Joshua planned to take the night off and resume filming Act 4 tomorrow.

The Day Banshees drifted over to him and handed him the raw crystals from today's shoot, which he activated. He began examining the contents, while also clicking on the Magic Web text message.

During the shooting of the film, he had set his messenger status to "Do Not Disturb".

Now, when he looked at his interface, a large number of owl expressions filled his vision.

"Are you still there? When will you get back to me? What are you doing now? ..."

Ciri crept up beside Joshua and read out the messages on Joshua's messenger.

"Who is this Frost Owl? A member of the Owl Penpal Society?"

Ciri looked at Joshua with a strange look in her eyes. But from the chat logs, she could tell that Frost Owl had only just met Joshua.

"I saw on the mage forum that his friend was under the influence of inquisitors," he said.

Joshua didn't mind Ciri peeking over his shoulder and began to writing his response.

"So there is another person in this world whose impression of the Nation of the Holy Church is about to collapse? Well, I like to watch this."

Ciri moved a small chair over and sat down beside Joshua. Judging from her posture, she was like someone grabbing popcorn to watch the show.

Joshua wrote his message: "I know you're wondering why the Nation of the Holy Church would do such a thing, but I can give you proof."
