Alright, here we go with chapter 8. Beantown Brewery. Here Jackson will meet up with half of a horse and meet up with his new travelling companion.

I decided to add the meeting of the travelling companion into this chapter instead of the next one because I forgot how short Beantown actually is.

Mandalore the Survivor - As far as Nuka World goes, I've got something in mind for that and hopefully it'll all play out in here as it did in my head. For the connections between Fallout 3 and 4 that's going to be mostly in this story since it is ten years ahead. Like I said before if I do reuse Jackson's name it'll be because I'm fucking lazy when it comes to names.

As far as the Brotherhood goes... yeah Bethesda kinda dropped the ball on that a little bit, didn't they. Hopefully Arthur and Jackson get along now, but you never know... Now speaking of the Brotherhood I do have something with them in mind for the Minutemen but that'll be after the Prydwen gets to the Commonwealth.

Also I went back to the previous chapter and gave the woman a brief and semi vague description.

'Thinking'

"Talking"

God damn Void Bastards is addictive. Played for 4 hours before finishing this off... and there wasn't much left to write after last night.

Beantown Brewery Raiders & A Visitor

October 26th 2287

Waking up the next morning Jackson and Preston headed on their way to the Beantown Brewery and it was no wonder why the people at Oberland Station were so anxious to be rid of them. It wasn't even a five minute walk over there. Approaching the brewery Jackson asked Preston to use his scope to see if he could spot any guards outside it. After a few minutes, and Jackson atomizing his silenced pipe rifle, Preston said it was all clear so they moved forwards. This was slightly worrying as the other two raider bases they visited, USAF Station Olivia and Corvega Assembly Plant had guards posted outside, but this place did not. Approaching the front door Preston spoke what Jackson was thinking, "Where are they?"

Jackson was about to say he didn't know until he saw some blood on the ground and some drag marks in blood leading to the front door. He had a theory on that, "I'm guessing the 'heavily armed group' the woman mentioned had something to do with this and the raiders haven't had time to bring their numbers up."

Opening the front door after Jackson picked the lock the two of them headed inside and approached the next door to their left. Seeing a raider on the top of a catwalk Jackson shot him before he could see them. After several seconds passed with no reaction from anyone else in the room Jackson headed up the staircase to his right so he could take the high ground. Once up the staircase a couple feet ahead was another staircase that went down, but to its right was a set of concrete stairs going up. Heading up again Jackson could hear a couple of raiders talking.

"Did you see what that bitch did to the outer guards and the ones inside a few days ago?" the woman asked the man.

"Yeah heard Tower Tom was pissed at her about that," the man replied.

"Stupid bitch came in looking for her sister all pissed off," the woman replied making Jackson's eyes go wide, "She should've known this'd be how it ended."

"True, true. Hey I wonder if Tom will let some of us have 'a go' at her before he kills her," the man asked emphasizing the words 'a go' to imply intercourse.

"Doubt it," the woman said, "given how angry he was he'll probably torture her a hell of a lot before he kills her. If I were into women I wouldn't want anyone after that."

"I would," the man replied before laughing.

The woman laughed along with him, "That's because you're one sick fucker Donald." Jackson had heard enough and lit up both their heads as targets in VATS and shot both dead. He was furious because it sounded similar to his own situation and he swore he would do his damndest to help this woman out. Picking a lock on the other side of the room Jackson was disappointed to find a dead end along with a dead female raider that had been there for quite some time given the state of decomp so he had to go back. Reaching the catwalk again Jackson fired his silenced rifle at a raider on the other side near the first man he shot before shooting at one down below. Both were instant kills and Jackson and Preston moved onwards across the catwalk coming to what looked like an office overseeing the brewery.

Reaching the door voices could be heard inside. "You little bitch," a males voice said, "you think you can just waltz in here, kill our men and just waltz on out again?" Jackson could hear some muffled mumbling but couldn't make it out, "That's right you can't!" the man continued, "You came here, pissed off, undermanned, underequipped and look at what happened. You lost. Your men dead and now that sister of yours will be paying the price when Tom comes back." Jackson's blood began to boil at this, "Shame you won't live long enough to see it. But before he kills you..." his voice dripped with lust, "We'd better make the most of our time together. Heh heh heh." The female's muffled voice became much more frantic as Jackson pieced together what was happening. Atomizing his shotgun and very quickly slinging his silenced pipe rifle over his back Jackson ran at the door and hit it with his shoulder knocking it off its hinges and surprising the man who had his manhood out and ready, "What the hel-" was all he got out before Jackson was in his face pointing his shotgun at the man's head... and pulled the trigger.

The man screamed in agony as he held what was left of his crotch after the shotgun blast had blown his penis off completely. Though Jackson was tempted to just let the man bleed to death he raised his shotgun to his other head and pulled the trigger again blowing his brains out all over the wall. Preston stepped in after the screaming stopped and surveyed the carnage. "That was... pretty extreme General," Preston said.

"Bastard deserved it," Jackson replied before finally acknowledging the lady in the room. A tied up and very naked Caucasian woman with some red warpaint on her face around her eyes with a rope in her mouth to act as a gag. Jackson was admittedly tempted to cover his eyes, however he couldn't help her if he couldn't see what he was doing. Reluctantly he kept his eyes uncovered and managed to get her untied.

"Who the hell are you? And what are you doing here?" the woman asked in a hostile tone.

"In that order; the Minutemen helping a settlement deal with some raiders that had been hassling them and right this second saving your ass," Jackson replied as he finished untying her. Quickly handing her a harness and some leather armor that Preston had collected off some of the dead raiders she swiftly got dressed as Jackson turned around to give her some modicum of privacy while at the same time relieving the dead man of his metal chest piece, and a piece of metal armor for his right arm and his left leg each which were quickly atomized into his Pip-boy. Glancing out of the corner of his eye he saw she was now fully dressed so he turned back around. "I'm guessing you were the leader of the 'heavily armed group' the settlers told us about. You were looking for your sister?"

"Yeah," she replied, "And I'm not leaving here without her. She's here somewhere I know it. Once I find her we're heading back home and start raiding again."

Jackson looked at her stunned, "You're a raider?"

"Not just a raider," Preston said reentering the office, "I thought I recognized her. Her name is Red Tourette. She leads a group of raiders to the east of ArcJet. Some federal stockpile place I think."

"Yeah that's right," Red said, "What of it? Going to kill me too?"

If Jackson was being honest with himself he hadn't planned on it. She was just doing the same thing he was. Granted it was what would happen after that would be different between them. As Jackson was about to open his mouth to say something he remembered the body of the raider he saw. "Nothing of the sort. But I think we might've come across your sister in here."

Red's eyes widened with what Jackson could only describe as hope, though the rest of her tried to hide it and did better at it. "You're lying."

"Actually I don't know if it is her or not since I don't know what she looks like. I was thinking you could identify her and go from there."

Red seemed to consider this for a few seconds before deciding. "Alright," she said warily, "But if you two try something."

"We would've 'tried something'," Jackson said making quotation marks with his fingers, "when you were tied up and helpless if we wanted to 'try something'," he finished making quotation marks with his fingers again. Just let me check something on the nearby computer and we'll be on our way. Red nodded and headed over to the man who tried to violate her and checked his pockets for something and so Jackson hacked into the computer and as quick as he could read the entries hoping to shed some light on the death of the woman upstairs. Sure enough it did as it mentioned that Red's sister Lily had been shot trying to escape and kill Tower Tom. After reading the last entry on how Tom had been forging letters to Red (and gagging a little upon reading what he had done to another hostage's body and how he planned to do the same to Lily's, vowing never to have a Beantown Brown Beer for as long as he lived) he got up and the three of them headed back up to the dead end room.

When they got within visual range of the body Red rushed towards it when she saw it. She patted down the body as if looking for something before freezing. Slowly she got up and pulled something off the dead body's neck. It was half a necklace and upon standing up Red clutched the necklace in her hand before reaching into her pocket with her other one and brought out the other half of the necklace and put them together before speaking, "Our mother gave us a half of this necklace each before she died. Our father had passed a decade or so prior a few months after Lily was born leaving the three of us by ourselves. And now it's just me." She was holding the tears back. Most likely due to her raider lifestyle.

Jackson felt some sympathy towards her, "I know what you're going through."

Red became angry at this, "How the hell can you say that? You have no idea what this is like! That's just what people say to you to try and show some kind of sympathy!"

Jackson grew equally as angry and actually grabbed Red by the collar, almost making her drop her necklace, and yelled at her, "I LOST MY FUCKING BROTHER ALRIGHT! YOU HEAR THAT? MY BROTHER! HE WAS KIDNAPPED AFTER OUR PARENTS WERE MURDERED TRYING TO PROTECT HIM! SO YES I DO KNOW WHAT THIS IS LIKE! SO YOU, THIS WASTELAND, AND EVERYONE IN IT TRYING TO PREVENT ME FROM SAVING HIM CAN ALL GO! TO! HELL!" he finished yelling and threw Red to the ground.

Jackson walked away leaving Red with Preston who said, "I've only known him for three days and that's the angriest I've ever seen him. And considering he managed to kill a Deathclaw, that's saying something." Red remained quiet at this.

Jackson was now down on the bottom level taking off some sort of gas mask off three of the raiders bodies. Figured it'd be useful if headed into a toxic environment. As he stood up he heard someone approach him and it wasn't Preston. "I'd like to apologize," Red said saying apologize like it was a foreign word, "I-"

She was cut off by Jackson, "I'm sorry," he said stopping her momentarily, "I let the anger that's been building up out on you after you learned of your sister's death and that wasn't fair to you."

"I wasn't exactly fair to you either," she said but before she could continue Jackson spoke up first.

"You didn't know about my situation so there's nothing to apologize for," he said, "I on the other hand witnessed the whole thing about you and your sister unfold in front of me. Meanwhile my brother is out there somewhere and I have no damn idea where he is."

"Guess neither of us thought about anything other than our anger huh?" Red said.

Jackson looked at the area where the door leading out was as he spoke, "She tried to escape." Red looked at him funny. "She tried to escape and kill Tower Tom. He was trying to incapacitate her rather than kill her and he managed to get off an unlucky shot for both of them. He tried to keep her alive but..." Jackson trailed off, "He started forging letters to you in the hope that you wouldn't figure it out."

"That's what tipped me off that something might be wrong," Red replied, "Her letters became different at one point and I thought she might have been sending me a message or something. I couldn't figure it out so I assumed she needed help so... here we are." She sighed before continuing, "Look, you saved me from these assholes and gave me closure with my sister so... the way I see it I owe you one. If you need anything I'll do it. One time only though, so make it count. Also I'll be telling my men not to attack any... what was your group called again?"

"The Minutemen," Jackson replied.

"Right," Red said, "I'll tell my men not to hit any of their settlements, caravans, you name it. Once I tell them it's about a debt I owe they'll understand. We do have a code, small as it is, amongst ourselves." Jackson thanked her for this and she headed out of the building.

Jackson stood where he was until Preston came up to him, "Ready to head out General?"

"In a minute," Jackson responded, "I'm going to switch up my look. I'll only be a minute or two." With that Preston left the building and Jackson brought the five pieces of the metal armor he found as well as his Vault 111 jumpsuit out of his Pip-boy. He quickly stripped down and put on the jumpsuit before attaching the metal armor to his body, thankful the chest piece included some crotch coverage with it. After he finished putting on the last of his new armor he stored the drifter outfit in his Pip-boy and left the building.

Meeting Preston outside the two of them headed back to Oberland Station until they heard a loud boom overhead and saw an object crash-land a few hundred feet away from them. "What the hell?" Preston said before recovering, "What do you think? Worth checking out? If only to check to see if anyone's hurt?" Preston asked only to find that Jackson was already heading that way. The two of them found the object in question and Jackson was astonished.

It was an alien spacecraft.

An actual alien spacecraft.

Jackson quickly brought up his Pip-boys communicator and dialed up Cindy even quicker, "Jackson wha-" was all she was able to get out.

"Gather up Codsworth, Dogmeat and whatever materials you need to construct turrets, beds and a recruitment beacon and then get that cute ass of yours down to my location five minutes ago," Jackson said and just before he turned off the communicator he heard Cindy sputtering on the other side, probably wearing a blush too. Jackson approached the spacecraft and looked around. The front part of the craft had been buried in the earth but just enough of it was uncovered to allow some sort of door to open on the roof to allow something to get out. The door, or probably more accurately the latch on top was already open so Jackson had a quick peek inside and finding nothing living or dead inside determined that anything that was in there was not anymore. It was rather small so Jackson guessed it was only meant for a single occupant. Poking his head back out he took another look around the craft and found a green substance on the ground followed by some more further ahead almost like a trail.

A blood trail to be more specific.

Jackson and Preston followed the trail and at the top of a hill found an odd object on the ground. It was red with some chrome coloring making it look very futuristic. Jackson assumed it belonged to whatever it was that was in the spacecraft. And judging from what he saw it looked like the device in his hands was some kind of gun. That meant that the alien had a good chance of being hostile, however it was still unarmed so Jackson would treat it as such. Atomizing the weapon and continuing to follow the blood trail it led to a cave. Jackson and Preston entered the cave and Jackson spoke to him, "Hang back a bit and keep that laser musket ready. But don't fire unless hostile intent is clear. If I think there is a hostile intent I'll wave my hand like this," he said waving his hand in a certain way, "If you see that then fire. But only when you see that. If you see my hand up without moving," he said holding his hand in a 'stop' sign, "like this then do not fire. We only get one chance at 'Hello' with these guys."

Preston wasn't entirely thrilled by this plan but went along with it anyway. Jackson moved up ahead and he could hear something. It sounded like talking but it wasn't in any language that Earth had. Moving around a corner Jackson saw the first ever living, in real life, alien. Laying down on the ground it had a greenish sort of tint to it's skin which was also quite smooth with no blemishes. Its head was a bit large in proportion to its body and had a very wide mouth and large opaque black eyes with no discernible iris or pupil. On its neck was a metallic something or other that Jackson didn't know the purpose of. Its hands had only three long suction-cupped fingers and no visible thumbs. In addition to that it was wearing a red suit that, based solely on his knowledge of human anatomy, led Jackson to believe this was a female given the pair of less-than-average breasts on its chest. One of it's hands was clutched against its side and Jackson could see the green liquid from before on its hand which meant Jackson was correct in thinking that it was indeed blood. When it saw Jackson it stood up, albeit very shakily, while continuing to clutch its side and had to lean up against the wall to support itself.

The alien then took an item out of its pocket causing Preston to raise his laser musket in response only for Jackson to hold up his hand like he had stated prior. The alien brought a strange metal device near its mouth and then spoke, revealing some sharp teeth in its maw. Jackson had no idea what the alien said, but he assumed it was just a single word from how short the time it spoke was. The alien then raised the device to Jackson and attempted to point to him with its blood soaked hand but collapsed, most likely from blood loss. Jackson went over to the alien and quickly looked over the injury. It seemed something had pierced it and was removed. Checking the area where the human heart would be Jackson could feel something akin to a heartbeat, but it was getting slower. Taking out some clean bandages he got from Vault 111 courtesy of Cindy from his Pip-boy he went to work putting pressure on the wound while simultaneously wrapping it up. Preston decided to speak his mind, "General I'm not so sure this is a good idea."

"I'll take that under advisement Preston," Jackson replied, "Now after I stimpack our guest we'll take her to Oberland Station for rest and recovery."

"Are you even sure the stimpack will work?" Preston asked, "Also I don't think the settlers at Oberland Station will let a... whatever this is stay there."

"I don't know if it will work or not," Jackson replied, "But it's either die from this or blood loss. Also when we get close to Oberland Station you will distract them by letting them know the raiders are dead while I place her into my bed."

Preston didn't like this plan, but he went along with it anyway, "It's your call General." Jackson atomized a stimpack into his hand and drove it into the alien's body. After the stimpack was emptied and thrown away Jackson checked the heart again and the heartbeat, or so he assumed, was starting to get faster. Hopefully that meant that she was getting better. Picking the alien up by it's shoulder Jackson, Preston and their new guest headed back to Oberland Station. Once there Preston spoke to the settlers there while Jackson managed to sneak around and place the alien creature in the bed he used. Stepping back and looking at this important discovery in human history Jackson only had one thing on his mind.

How was it going to react when it woke up?

And there we have it. Truth is most of this chapter was written the night before and I managed to get the rest out on date of postage.

So Jackson's new companion is... the alien that crash lands when you reach level twenty. Bet no one saw that coming.
