CLASS TRIAL: IN SESSION!

"Ahem, let's begin with a simple explanation of the class trial!" Monokuma said. "During the trial, you'll present your arguments on who the culprit is, and you'll vote for whodunnit. Vote correctly, and only the blackened will be punished. But if you pick the wrong person... I'll punish everyone BESIDES the blackened, and that person will be able to leave this school! Oh, and, refusing to vote for someone will result in your death, so you better vote for someone! Now, LET'S GET IT STARTED!"

"Lots of stuff to be uncovered." Seungyeon said. "Let's just hope we get this right."

"Let's begin with the basic details." Miyumi said. "According to the Monokuma File, Masahito was murdered at 9:47 AM... which is way too close than I like."

"Once again, it's always vague." Takashi said. "It says that Masahito was strangled to death, but it doesn't specify by what."

But don't we already know?

SELECT A TRUTH BULLET!

SELECTED – Loose Rope

"Here's my evidence!"

"During the investigation, Miyumi, Izumi, and I found this rope." Yeeun said. "It's clear that this was used to strangle Masahi-"

"You're wrong!"

ARGUE!

MIYUMI

"Eh, Miyumi?!" Yeeun said. "We investigated it together, what do you mean I'm wrong?"

"Did I ever specify that the rope was used to kill Masahito?" Miyumi said. "No, I never did. So don't go around falsely claiming stuff."

Jesus fucking christ, dude.

"To correct Yeeun..." Miyumi sighed.

"While the rope does have some significance, it is NOT the murder weapon." Miyumi said. "When I investigated Masahito's corpse, there were hand marks all over his neck."

"Why didn't you bother to fucking mention this during the investigation?" Izumi snarled. "You just up and made Yeeun look stupid."

"Yeeun chose to present this rope out of her own accord." Miyumi said.

I am definitely no Eunji... but still... I know I can do this.

"Look, can we all calm down?" Youngjae said. "I get that we're all under high stress, but we need to keep a level head if we want to solve this case."

"Yeah, he's right." Kaori said.

"Can we talk about Eunji being in the same room with the body?" Kazuhiko asked. "Isn't that highly suspicious?"

"Eunji is simply a victim of circumstance." The detective replied. "She was in the wrong place, at the wrong time."

"Are we so sure?" Kazuhiko asked.

Something's about to happen...

-NON-STOP DEBATE!-

-START!-

"I mean, let's think about it, really." Kazuhiko said. "Eunji's suddenly in the same room as the body?"

"It does seem suspicious, but it's too early to call anything." Miyumi said.

"Of course you would defend her." The racer replied.

"What exactly are you implying?" The detective responded in a hostile manner. "All I'm saying is that it's too early to call a culprit."

"Besides, Kazuhiko, really? You're going to accuse her when she isn't even here to defend herself?" Kaori said. "Kinda cheap, dude."

"I'm sure there's some explaination for Eunji's involvement in this whole thing." Youngjae said.

CONSENT!

YOUNGJAE&YEEUN

"I agree!"

-BREAK!-

"Youngjae's right, there is an explaination." Yeeun said.

"Like what?" Kazuhiko asked.

"Izumi told me so." The songwriter replied.

"Izumi?" The racer asked.

"Right, we totally forgot about Izumi, huh?" Hirokazu said.

"You there, Hacker, tell us your story." Kazuhiko demanded.

"Well, you all know that I was in the nurse's office, knocked out." Izumi said. "From my memory, I was going up with Masahito to the workshop, as to why, I don't know, but I was going up there. Next thing I knew, everything was black, and then I wake up in the nurse's office, and Eunji is carrying me, and I think she's talking to me."

"So whatever happened with Masahito and Izumi in the workshop could provide us a good explanation as for why Eunji got involved in all this." Yeeun said.

"Why did they enter the workshop to begin with?" Youngjae said. "We rarely visit the upper levels, if at all."

"Which is extremely irritating!" Monokuma said, holding up a claw. "I spent a long time making these amazing floors for you all, and you brats just completely ignored it!"

"Shut the hell up." Miyumi said. "Anyways..."

Miyumi seems very... I dunno, agitated? Like I said, I get where she's coming...

Doesn't make her attitude any less unbearable, though.

"Did you just say a bad word!?" Monokuma said. "Everyone, the detective said a bad word!"

"You're giving me a headache." The detective remarked.

"Anyways, let's discuss the workshop." Takashi said.

That seems like a good idea...

-NON-STOP DEBATE!-

-START!-

"So, Masahito and Izumi both went to the workshop together." Miyumi said.

"Yeah, but where do we go from there? Izumi's memories are all blank, there's nothing there." Kaori replied.

"We can safely assume that Izumi and Masahito were probably intercepted by somebody when they arrived." Takashi said.

"Why they went there, who knows." Miyumi said.

"Okay, but why would Izumi's memories be blank?" Hirokazu said. "Is it possible that something happened to her?"

CONSENT!

HIROKAZU&YEEUN

"I agree!"

-BREAK!-

"Hirokazu is right, something did happen." Yeeun said. "And I think I know exactly what."

"Pray tell." The detective replied.

"This alcohol rag is explanation enough." Yeeun said, pulling out a picture of the rag.

"Alcohol rag?" Kazuhiko asked.

"Oh, so then..." Kaori said. "That alcohol rag was used to knock Izumi out?"

"That's a very safe assumption." Miyumi said. "I came to the same conclusion, too."

"No shit you did, Sherlock." Seungyeon said. "Hey, how about you just outright tell us who it is instead of dragging us along?"

"What do you mean?" The detective asked.

The actress groaned. "Dude, seriously? You're the smartest fucking person in this room, you clearly know, or at the very least, have some inkling on who it is."

"While I do admit that I have a very high intelligence, it would simply be too soon to call a culprit." Miyumi said. "After all, wouldn't it be better to have no doubt about it?"

"Well, I for one, think it might be Kazuhiko." The actress said.

"What?" Kazuhiko said. "And what evidence would you have?"

"Reika had that look in her eyes, same as you do." Seungyeon said. "And while Ichiro didn't make it to the class trial, Ayaka lead us to that conclusion."

"This is quite ridiculous." The racer remarked.

"W-While I don't exactly... ugh... disagree with Seungyeon's assessment..." Miyumi said. "I'd rather we get to that conclusion safely, as opposed to rushing to it."

"Wait, so... you actually believe that Kazuhiko's the culprit?" Kaori asked.

"He's on the top of my suspect list, yes... but that doesn't necessarily mean that I'm right." The detective said.

"Wow, okay." Kazuhiko said. "So, Miss Detective over here is already against me. This is quite unfair, isn't it?"

What the fuck is Seungyeon doing?

She's totally throwing us off course!

"Hey, Detective." The racer said. "How do we know that you're not just covering for Eunji? After all, you're extremely biased towards her."

"Don't be so stupid to assume that I would jeopardize our survival over something like a relationship." Miyumi said. "I'm a detective first."

"Yeah, but I'm sure you wouldn't want to see Eunji die, correct?" Kazuhiko said.

"..." Miyumi fell silent.

"Can we really trust what Miyumi says?" The racer replied. "It wouldn't be a good idea to-"

"Silence." Takashi said. "We've heard enough out of you."

"Kazuhiko's being an asshole as usual." Kaori replied. "Where were we?"

"That alcohol rag." Seungyeon said. "Yeeun, continue, shall you?"

"Right." Yeeun said. "As Miyumi said, this rag was used to knock out Izumi."

"And where did you find it?" Hirokazu asked.

"On Masahito's body." Miyumi said.

"Oh." The astrologist replied.

"It's quite obvious that the culprit planted that on Masahito's body to mislead us." Yeeun said.

"I want to hear more about Miyumi's suspect list." Kazuhiko replied. "Since I'm #1, might as well throw others under the bus."

"No." Miyumi said.

"Seriously?" The racer said. "You're the detective here, help us out for once, why don't you?"

"And what the HELL do you think I've been doing this past MONTH?" Miyumi said. "Without my help. we'd all be dead!"

"Monokuma, can you put a silencer on this dickbag?" Kaori said, pointing at Kazuhiko. "He's intentionally provoking Miyumi, and we're not gonna get anywhere like this."

"Hmmm..." Monokuma said. "It's quite funny watching this."

"We'll be here forever, and I'm sure your "audience" would get bored eventually." Takashi said.

"You're right." Monokuma said. "Hey racer, that's strike one, you hear me? Two more strikes, and you're out!"

"Everyone's just ganging up on me." The racer said. "You'll all feel foolish when you discover that I'm not the culprit."

The environment's so... hostile...

I didn't realize how bad things got after Ayaka...

"To recap..." Takashi said. "Masahito and Izumi both went to the workshop, and a third party – the culprit, most likely – intercepted them, and knocked out Izumi using that alcohol rag."

"But where do we go from there?" Hirokazu asked. "How did Izumi get out of the workshop, if she was knocked out?"

Yeah... let's think this through.

-NON-STOP DEBATE!-

-START!-

"Is it possible that the culprit carried her out?" Youngjae asked.

"But why would they do that?" Takashi said.

"Isn't it quite obvious?" Kazuhiko said.

"Oh great, this is gonna be good." Kaori replied. "What is it, Kazuhiko?"

"The culprit only intended to kill just Masahito."

"NO, THAT'S WRONG!"

-BREAK-

"Really?" Yeeun said. "You geniunely believe that the culprit only intended to kill just Masahito?"

"Well, it makes sense, wouldn't it?" Kazuhiko said.

"Let's think it through." The songwriter replied. "Izumi and Masahito both go together to the workshop, the culprit shows up, and only plans to kill one of them?"

"Don't forget the motive, after all." Miyumi said. "The number of wishes you get is adjacent to the number of students you killed. So... two students... two wishes."

"So it's quite obvious that the culprit intended to kill both of-"

"You're too slow."

ARGUE!

KAZUHIKO

"Really?" Yeeun said.

Now this asshole is pissing me off...

"Nobody could possibly have pulled off a double murder." Kazuhiko said. "Your assessment is completely ridiculous, and you're just wasting all of our time."

"I'm wasting our time? That's rich!" Yeeun replied.

"Prove me wrong, then." The racer replied.

That I will!

-REBUTTAL SHOWDOWN!-

-TRUTH BLADES!-

-START!-

"I mean, really?"

"A double murder would be simply illogical to pull off"

"So be a good girl and stop wasting our time"

ADVANCE!

"Oh, fuck off dude."

"How about YOU try to prove that there wasn't an attempt for a double murder?"

"Can you do that?"

"I really need to explain this?"

"The culprit first knocked out Izumi..."

"Then knocked Masahito out too and killed him while he was unconcious"

"I'LL CUT YOUR WORDS!"

-BREAK!-

"False." Yeeun said. "You didn't even pay attention to the workshop, did you? The entire workshop was a mess."

"She's right." Miyumi said.

"Masahito tried to fight off the culprit, but unfortunately, it didn't work out well for him." The songwriter said.

"Hmph." The racer replied.

"Maybe that's where Eunji got involved." Izumi said. "If Masahito went down fighting, then it's highly likely he took me out of the workshop before the culprit killed him."

"With your small size, that's likely." Takashi said.

"So then..." Hirokazu pondered. "Izumi and Masahito both went to the workshop, then the culprit knocked out Izumi, and they tried to kill Masahito, but before they got to, he got Izumi out of the workshop?"

"Then... he saved you, didn't he?" Miyumi said to Izumi.

"..." Izumi fell silent.

"He sure acted like an jerk, but I guess he had a big heart at the end of it all." Kaori replied.

"Then, I guess we can assume that sometime after Masahito carried Izumi out, Eunji stumbled upon her." Takashi said.

"That's when she carried me to the nurse's office..." Izumi said. "And Masahito... he died for me..?"

"Yes, he did." Miyumi replied.

"So, remember what the Monokuma File said?" Youngjae said. "It said that Masahito died at 9:47 A.M."

"And we found his body at 10:07 AM." Yeeun said.

"It's a very tight timeframe for the culprit." Miyumi said.

"So, we need to establish alibis." Takashi said. "That way, we can probably find the culprit quickly."

"Oh, this is gonna be a mess, I can already feel it." Kaori said./"Let's just do this calmly." Miyumi replied./"I'm ready for whatever you throw at me." Kazuhiko said.

"Here we go again." Kaori/"I said CALMLY" Miyumi/"Come at me!" Kazuhiko

Ugh...

-MASS PANIC DEBATE!-

-START!-

"I'm safe." Kaori/"It seems like saying calmly goes in from one ear, and out the other." Miyumi/"I have some suspects, if I may." Kazuhiko

"Yeah, Kaori's safe, I can back her up." Hirokazu/"Are you just insulting us throughout the chaos?" Youngjae/"What do you got?" Takashi

"Thank you, Hirokazu." Kaori/"What? No!" Miyumi/"If I had to name three names right now..." Kazuhiko

"Of course you lovebirds would cover for each other" Seungyeon/"You definitely are!" Izumi/"I would say..."

"What?" Kaori/"I am not!" Miyumi/"Youngjae seems very suspicious to me." Kazuhiko

"I HEAR IT!"

-BREAK!-

"Youngjae is cleared." Yeeun said. "Right, Kaori?"

"Oh yeah!" Kaori said. "Throughout the entire timeframe of the murder, Hirokazu, Youngjae, and I were in the laundry room!"

"Three people alone? How debaucherous!" Monokuma said, having that weird fucking sweaty sprite that I hate, jfc.

"Um... anyways." Yeeun said. "So, Youngjae, Hirokazu, and Kaori can't be the culprit!"

"And Izumi was too busy in dreamland, so it can't be her, either." Seungyeon said.

"So, then..." Yeeun said. "That leaves me, Miyumi, Takashi, Seungyeon, Kazuhiko, and Naomori."

"Naomori?" Kazuhiko said. "Oh, right, the herbalist."

"Uh, yeah." Naomori said.

"You've been quiet." Miyumi said.

"I mean, I don't have much to contribute, right? I'm just a plain old herbalist." The herbalist said. "And besides, Takashi and I stuck together for a bit, and he left me at 9:45, but that would not have been enough time for him to commit the murder, so I'm 100% sure he's clear."

"Takashi?" Miyumi said.

"Yeah, Naomori is telling the truth." Takashi said.

"Even if you feel that you don't have much to say, we'd appreciate having everyone's voices." Miyumi said.

"Well, now I know, for next class trial." Naomori said.

"Hopefully there won't be a next class trial." The detective replied.

"So, 6 of us have alibis now." Yeeun said. "Which leaves only me, Miyumi, Seungyeon, and Kazuhiko."

"Are you so sure?" Kazuhiko said.

"Huh?" Yeeun said.

"I mean... let's think about it, thoroughly." The racer replied. "Eunji could be the culprit, and you're all just dismissing her as an option because she's not here."

He sounds very confident...

"What... do you mean?" Miyumi asked.

"Think about it, really." Kazuhiko said. "Couldn't she be playing us all?"

Eunji... playing us all?

-INTERMISSION!-
