Out to Sea
By SMYGO4EVA

The seashore was calm, with the familiar back and forth of the ocean waves on the sands. Golden sunlight shone upon the waters and Shun could only look outward.

Mio walked over, and then sat next to him, feeling no need to talk just yet.

Shun noticed Mio's presence and turned his head. He had forgotten how lovely Mio's eyes were, even after all this time together. He knew that he himself was different, but he had to keep his heart closed, because he said aloud how he truly felt, he was only met with pity, contempt, and condemnation.

Even as Mio kept holding out his hand, Shun didn't want him to suffer as much as he did. He then indeed take that first step forward, their fingers intertwining together.

And since then, they never looked back.

Mio blinked; he laughed softly, and Shun remembered where he was, smiling right back at Mio.

They looked out to the sea, and their hands then locked together, a promise understood.
