"Do you think they'll reach the human realm?" Amity asked.

"Probably doesn't work that way but…" Luz started, "It's a nice thought, right?" Amity reached a hand out towards her girlfriend, and Luz took it as the two watched the flowers they'd picked fly off into the distance, carried by the breeze alongside petals from the Grom Tree. "It really is a pretty sight," Amity sighed. "Almost as pretty as you." She turned to look at Luz, and to her dismay saw that the girl had a fresh stream of tears running down her cheeks. Amity's brain went straight into comfort-your-girlfriend mode, and she wrapped her arm around Luz and leaned into the crook of her neck. "You gonna be alright?" She asked.

"I'm so sorry Amity. I didn't mean to make such a mess out of today," Luz sobbed.

"Hey, Hey, it's okay, I understand. You had a lot going on," Amity replied. "I just wish you would talk to me about the things that are bothering you instead of bottling them up until they blow up like they did tonight."

"I know, I know. It's just… I didn't have a lot of friends back in the human realm, and even fewer that I could talk to. And Mom… She's great, and I love her, and I can't wait to see her again, but a lot of times she just doesn't quite understand, and I don't wanna worry her. I guess I just kind of got used to having to bottle everything up."

Amity was all too familiar with that feeling, albeit in a much different context. She'd spent so many years trying to live up to her parents' expectations and being in constant fear of upsetting them. There was so much that she'd hid from them so as to avoid confrontation, and so many times that she went along with what they said because she'd worried they'd be disappointed in her choices if she made them herself. Luz's mom seemed much different, sure, but some things were probably universal.

"Well, this isn't the human realm," Amity pointed out. "Over here you've got a ton of people that think you're cool, and if you need to talk to someone you have Gus, and Willow, and Eda and King…" Amity trailed off, taking a moment to guide Luz's chin up and towards her so that she could look her girlfriend in the eye, "And you have me. And I want to be there for you, no matter what happens." Amity could feel tears welling in her own eyes, and the fact that Luz had pretty much the same expression on her face as when Amity had first kissed her cheek on the steps of Blight Manor did nothing to help contain her emotions.

They stayed like that for what felt like an eternity, with their faces mere inches from each other. Amity could even feel the warmth of Luz's shaky breath, and were it not for the fact that they were both now crying, Amity would probably consider how this was easily one of the most intimate moments she'd had with Luz. In reality, it probably lasted only a few moments before Luz broke their silence by saying, "I'm sorry. I just didn't wanna start bothering you with everything that's going on up here," She pointed to her head, "Especially since I know you've got a pretty full plate too."

Hearing that sent a sharp pang into Amity's heart, and for a second she considered checking to see if she'd just been stabbed by an ice glyph. How could Luz Noceda, the girl that had inspired Amity to change and improve so much as a person, and practically the only person on her mind for the last several months, think that her problems would be a burden to Amity? "Luz, I want to know everything going on up there. You're not a burden, and you never will be. Remember when we first met?"

Luz couldn't help but giggle, "Of course, you nearly had me dissected, cariño."

"Well back then, I was doing the same thing. I would put up walls around everyone and never open up. I bottled everything up, and it led to me doing some pretty stupid stuff, including some things that I'm still dealing with the consequences of. But then, I ran into you, and little by little, you brought down those walls, even when I didn't want you to. You never stopped being there for me, and for that I've been able to become a much better person. I can focus on being the witch I want to be, and not the one my parents want. I'm finally reconnecting with Willow instead of just hanging out with people that my parents picked out, and I even have an awesome girlfriend now," She booped Luz on the nose with that last remark, "And I wouldn't have been able to do any of it without you finding out about all the things going on up here. So please, let me do that for you."

"Amity, I… I didn't realize…" Luz started. Her hand rose up and cupped Amity's cheek, and Amity leaned into it as she felt all of her blood running to her face. It never ceased to surprise her that even in a moment like this, Luz still was able to make her blush with just a simple touch. "You're right, it's not fair that even though I constantly made you open up, I keep myself closed off. I'm just kinda worried, you know?" Luz's voice faltered as she spoke, "I've opened up to people before and usually it would… kinda backfire on me." Luz dropped her gaze. "I really like you a lot, and I don't want something I say to push you away or make you think I'm some kind of weirdo."

Now it was Amity's turn to put a hand on her girlfriend's cheek. With a thumb, she wiped away some of her tears. "Luz, I would never do that. There's nothing that you can say that would make me think you're some kind of weirdo and leave. And you know why?" Luz faintly shook her head. "It's because I already think you're a weirdo. But Luz, you're my weirdo, and that's one of my favorite things about you." That got a small laugh out of her, and Amity pulled her into a tight hug. "No matter what you're dealing with, I will never judge you for any of it. I just want you to feel happy."

"Thank you, Amity," Luz said. Her voice was soft, but so sincere, and Amity noticed that Luz was gently running a hand down her back in just the way that she loved. "I'll try to be open about things when they come up, and I won't bottle my feelings up anymore."

"Good, I'm glad to hear that," Amity said before breaking their hug and placing her hands on Luz's shoulders. "I really mean it too. Anytime something is bothering you and you need to talk to someone about it, it doesn't matter what it is. I'll be there for you." She could see a smile growing on Luz's face as the shiny streams on her cheeks where tears had been flowing started to dry up. And, in the heat of the moment, Amity decided now was the time to say one of the only things she hadn't told Luz yet. "I wanna hear all of it, and I wanna help you through all of it, because…" Amity looked down for a moment and caught her breath, steeling herself. This was the point of no return, and she was about to cross it.

"I love you, Luz."

Once she started, those three little words just flowed out of her and hung in the air while Luz seemed to process them. For a moment, she just stared with this shocked expression, and Amity worried, not for the first time, that she had done too much too soon. But then Luz replied, "Amity, I love you too."

Amity's heart soared at those words. She almost couldn't believe it. How had she been so lucky to not only have met Luz, but to have her feelings for her returned? She beamed at Luz, who laughed her sweet little laugh, and the two leaned towards each other and pressed their foreheads together, smiling and laughing together in the light of realizing their feelings were returned. When they started coming down from the emotional high, an idea popped into Amity's head. Well, it was more fair to say that the idea had been brewing for months now, but that this was finally a good opportunity for it. "Luz?" She asked, "Can I kiss you?"

Luz's reply came quickly, and although she was trying to sound smooth, Amity knew her well enough to recognize the excitement in her voice. "Of course, mi amor."

And then, she was tilting her head ever so slightly, and closing that final distance between her and her girlfriend. Their lips met, and Amity was amazed by how soft Luz's were. How many times had she imagined this happening? Ever since Grom, probably earlier, she hadn't been able to go a single day without picturing herself and Luz in each other's arms and kissing. And here they were, and it was even better than she'd imagined. Amity hoped that she never had to break this, and judging by how long the kiss lasted, she guessed that Luz felt the same way.

Just when Amity thought that she was experiencing true bliss, and that things couldn't get any better, she felt Luz's fingers start to comb through her hair and gently brush against her scalp. Her heart completely burst at the unexpected touch, and she felt herself melting into Luz's arms. She decided to return the favor, kneading her fingers in Luz's short and soft brown hair. The feeling of them being so close and so connected to each other was utterly magical to Amity.

All good things must come to an end though. Amity eventually needed to get some air, and so she reluctantly pulled away. This was met with a few quiet and adorable protests from Luz. They both took a moment to catch their breaths before Luz spoke up. "That was…"

"...Incredible," Amity finished. "Titan, Luz, I love you so much," And she planted a quick kiss on Luz's lips.

"Oh gosh I love you too! I love you, I love you, I love you!" Luz punctuated each "I love you" with a small kiss in return, and Amity couldn't help but giggle at the incredibly silly and sweet gesture. It felt so good to both be able to say that she loved her and to hear it back. When Luz finished her outpouring of affection, they both sighed, content to stay like this in each other's arms.

Amity had never in her wildest dreams imagined that she could feel this content. There had always been something that the world threw at her to keep her stressed out and worried. But now, everything else had vanished, and all that remained was her and the love of her life. The love that also loved her back! It was a refreshing, exciting, and liberating feeling, and Amity decided right then and there that she would go to the ends of the world if Luz was there, just so that she could keep having the human in her life.

Realizing that she'd sort of drifted off in her own thoughts, Amity focused her gaze back and saw that Luz was staring right into her eyes with a look of pure adoration, and Amity couldn't do anything to stop the ear to ear grin that formed. Then she looked down at Luz's lips and her mind immediately wandered to thinking about how much she wanted to feel them on her own again. Thankfully, her girlfriend must have been thinking the same thing, because Luz spoke up and asked, "Hey, is it okay if we keep kissing?"

"Of course, my love," Amity responded, leaning in for another kiss…
