Oodako had been clingy since she woke up. While he normally enjoyed it when he spent time in his tanks and went for cuddle sessions before she went to bed and sometimes throughout the day, it was different this time. Today he was extra clingy.

She climbed down the stairs, the now tiny octopus wrapped firmly around her neck and nestling on her head.

She gave him a few pets while she turned the radio on and started to pull out the required breakfast items with her magic.

Her wand had been strapped to her arm in a wand holster. It was one of the better inventions and she truly couldn't understand how they hadn't promoted the use while she was in Hogwarts. Afterall with a flick of her wrist her wand would be firmly in her grasp.

Making breakfast with the use of magic was easier and especially more enjoyable.

She still had to turn on the stove by hand and for example make the coffee herself, because magic was frickly with technology. Muggle items needed to be severely charmed and turned sentient as a side effect to be deemed safe to work regular magic on. She was able to use magic while in the presence of muggle technology but using magic directly on them was a no go.

But there was still something fun in having the ingredients fly around her and knives cutting the vegetables by themself. She felt euphoric being able to use magic that freely again and it didn't take long for her to have her actions and appearance react to this.

Her hair was switching between colours and her voice adapted to the ones of the singer on the radio.

She was twirling around, singing loudly with the current french singer, having learned the language after finding out it was Vipers native language and Fleur had helped immediately after she had mentioned the idea.

While she normally was quite the horrible singer, it was a major advantage to be able to imitate the voice of the singer completely. It didn't mean she was no longer tone deaf but she was able to make feats with her voice that were normally never possible.

Fon stepped in the kitchen and he immediately had to start ducking to escape getting hit by a stray orange flying around.

She did give him a smile, while Oodako waved at him before the octopus went back to messing with her hair. She didn't stop her behaviour either. It was such a mood booster to indulge in magic again and it's not like her behaviour in the kitchen was unknown. It was something she had done as Skull as well… it actually stemmed from her time as Skull.

Fon had meanwhile sat down and a cup of his favourite tea floated in front of him. He just stared in wonder at everything that was going on.

Sure he had seen a few magic spells being performed but it was different to see their cloud being so entranced in it and stepping into a room straight out of a movie. Afterall items worked themself and the rest of the things were floating.

He just sat in silence, observing and getting refills from the levitating teapot next to him until Reborn stepped in.

The hitman paused for a moment in the door just taking in the sight of their cloud who was still completely entranced in her activity.

"You seem to be in a good mood today."

"How could I not when I can use magic freely again?"

he hummed an answer while sitting down and accepting his espresso "It looks good on you. Straight up bewitching I dare say"

She snorted at that and stuck his tongue out at him "You're proud of that one, are you?"

"Actually yes."

Violet just laughed but had to duck out of the way when a hard boiled egg flew astray.

It didn't take long for the rest of the Arcobalenos to appear after that. Viper being the last one and the miser had floated down the stairs, not even bothering to use her feet when they hovered into the kitchen, Fantasma perched over her head in snake form.

"Can I have some bacon too?"

"Naturally, why do you even ask?" Violet had not even registered who had asked, just absentmindedly answering while fixing a few last things.

"You speak?"

"What?" confused she turned around and looked around

"Violet? why are you hissing?" Fon asked, a bit perplexed.

"What?" she furrowed her brows.

"You're still hissing."

Her eyes fell on Fantasma and something clicked "You are a frog without the illusion… Why do you speak parseltongue?"

"Because I'm part snake. Can I have bacon now?"

"So you are actually a mix and that's why you transform? Not because of illusions?" She did put some bacon on a small plate for Fantasma

"Yes, I mean the mist flame helps but I was always a halfling."

"Violet I'm not sure what's going on with you but you're still hissing, kora." the rain had addressed it this time.

"Oh yeah sorry. i was talking to Fantasma" she turned towards Colonnello.

"Still hissing, kora"

"Oh wait… Is that…. is it better now?" she actually had to concentrate on him hard. It never got easier to differentiate between the languages.

"Not that I mind you imitating animals… but any particular reason why you decided that hissing is appropriate?" the sun stared at her with his blank face.

"I can't help it, okay?"

"You want to tell me you're part snake now?"

"Merlin no! I just speak parseltongue…"

"And that's what exactly?" Reborn had lifted his eyebrow at her while he pressed for further answers.

"Snake language"

"So you are part snake?"

"No! It's a language that you can inherit but not learn. It has nothing to do with being part snake" she said, slightly disgruntled.

"And you can't control it?"

"Not really… it just activates when I see a snake or hear parseltongue… I mean it sounds like English to me. I literally don't know when I speak it"

That raised a few eyebrows but they left it alone.

The breakfast was accompanied with light chatter until Verde cleared his throat "Violet, I want to know how your sky shattered."

She froze for a second "What? Why?"

"It will give me an easier understanding and would help in the research."

"No." she hadn't even needed to think about it. There was not a chance she would willingly explain that part of her past to them.

"Why not?"

"I don't want to speak about it."

"But Violet… it's necessary for us to help you"

Starting to get irritated and her tone got harsher. "I refuse."

"We won't do anything rash and will handle this respectfully." Reborn tried to reassure her but she had none of it.

"I still said no."

"Please let us in. I know it has to be traumatic but we really need to know." even Fon pressed further in the matter.

"Do you want to hear it in spanish? No."

"Violet…"

Verde fidgeted with his glasses but stared straight at her "We need it to help you."

"I don't need my sky flame."

"But…" Colonnelo wasn't even able to finish his sentence, interrupted by the loud noise Lal made when she slammed her hands on the table

"Have you all no shame? You are horribly insensitive! Violet said no. All of you should be able to grasp that! You can imagine what would have been needed to actually harm a sky like that. Literally all of you shut up and leave Violet alone! I thought better of all of you!"

The former soldier abruptly stood up and with one angry look at the group stalked into the living room where she immediately started on gun maintenance to distract herself from the matter.

Violet herself had followed her as well, slowly sitting down next to her "Thank you."

"I just said what I thought" but she couldn't hide the slight blush on her cheek.

Violet had to smile at that and leaned back, following the quick and neat movements of Lals hands with her eyes.

"And… while I want you to regain your flame too… I mean … I know what it's like to have a malfunctioning flame." Lal bit her lip for a second before she determinately shook her head and completely focused on her task.

They didn't stay alone for long, the rest of the arcobaleno hovering near them in the living room, still getting angry glances from Lal.

Violet didn't pay them much mind herself until she felt something on her knee. Looking down revealed Leon to her.

The small guy was slowly sticking his tongue out, carefully watching her until he finally made it to her hand and gave it a lick.

She had to laugh at that and seeing his expectant eyes she morphed her tongue into a copy of his to stick it out.

Not sure how she could tell it but Leon seemed oddly excited about it and proceeded to turn into a bright yellow. Violet herself found it way too amusing and changed her colour to match his, even going as far as transforming her skin to fit his own in properties and colour. Leon started to go through different colours at a time, sometimes adding horns or designs and she just copied him.

They probably would have kept going until she heard the click of a camera. To her slight frustration she couldn't even find the camera in question but she got painfully aware that the whole room was watching her.

This time it was Leon that mirrored her rose skin colour.

To her luck Oodako decided at this moment that he wanted attention as well and therefore she could distract herself with petting the two animal companions. At least until Yuni had climbed on the couch next to her"Violet?"

"Yeah?" she looked up at the young sky, still scratching both animals under their chin.

"Could you show me some magic?"

"I mean I did this morning and I thought Ron and Ginny showed you some." she mused.

"But I wanna see a real spell by you."

She had to smile a little at that "And what kind of spell?"

"Something pretty"

"I could show you one of my favourite spells… I'm actually quite proud of that one. I learned it unusually young, not many wizardfolk can pull off a corporeal patronus and especially not at 13… and it is pretty."

"What does it do?" curiosity made Yuni lean closer to her.

"It's a kind of protector, the only known way to defend oneself against a Dementor and can be used as a messenger. It requires a potent happy memory to summon it and it's an animal that has a great significance to the witch or wizard in question."

Yuni just stared expectantly at her and Violet chuckled before placing Leon on Yunis head to cast the spell.

She almost dropped her wand when instead of her stag a silver chameleon appeared, which promptly circled around the inhabitants of the living room.

Colonnello stared in fascination at it "Is it a chameleon because you can shapeshift?"

"...Yes."

"You're lying."

"...No?" she tried again, not really convincing but still trying her best.

"Violet, I can read your body like a children's book. I know when you're lying. Why do you have a chameleon? I'm curious now." The sun had spoken up now, focusing on her with an odd fascination.

"No comment!" and with that she ran out of the room. Definitely not willing to admit that her subconscious apparently deemed Reborn as the one who would grant her the biggest protection and safety.
