The moment she had met the ground her alertness had returned. While she had been ready for Reborn lifting her up again to get them in a more favorable position, she had not been ready to be standing behind him.

She wasn't used to being protected and while the rest of the Arcobalenos were at their sides in a matter of seconds she just ignored Reborns hand that held her back, squished herself between them and took her place at his side.

He seemed more than just disgruntled at that, but his whole focus was on Bianchi, his gun aimed and ready to shoot at the slightest signal.

Not that the rest of the Arcobalenos were better. Actually Violet was the calmest, her wand still in its holster.

Bianchi herself was staring hateful at Violet herself "Sei una Puttana! Stay away from my man!" still holding poison cooking in her hand, clearly more than just enraged.

Reborn answered for her "We broke up Bianchi. I advise you to drop that immediately and stay the fuck away."

The warning was more than clear but Bianchi still didn't look at him.

Violet calmly put her hand on Reborns arm, pushing it firmly down "No reason to shoot. She tried to attack me and not you."

"That's exactly why." he gritted out.

"This has become personal now Reborn. Let me handle it."

He did drop his arm a little, gun still ready in his hand. It didn't matter much, even if he would put his gun away, he would be able to shoot her quicker than she could act.

While he didn't completely agree that it was her problem. He couldn't stand in her way when she wanted to prove herself. It was the most controlled environment he could get for it and Violet's ability could easily make her a target. It would be more than necessary to give her the stage to prove herself and make it clear that she wasn't only backed by the Arcobaleno but that she could defend herself better than most.

It didn't mean he liked it but he saw the necessity for it. Violet had clearly proven herself to be more than just capable and it was only Bianchi. Not a real threat.

All of his bondmates were in place and ready to strike at the slightest motion. It would be fine. He had to let her take the lead in this situation. If Violet herself wanted to do it he had no right to stop her. He wouldn't disrespect her like that.

Hindering and looming over her would only belittle her. Not what she needed and or deserved. He would need to trust her with this matter.

And with a last struggle he slowly put his gun down and therefore gave the signal to the rest of the Arcobaleno to follow him in his action.

Violet smiled thankfully up at him, before she turned back to Bianchi "Care to explain why you decided to attack an ally at an event like this?" she asked cooly, slightly leaning into her old ways before she had created Skull.

"Reborn is mine! He is meant for me! You dare to come between us?" Bianchi spouted.

"He is? " Violet's voice was quiet but she stepped forward, completely focused on Bianchi. She didn't appreciate her word choice. "You mean you own him?"

Reborn tried to grab her hand but she just shook her head "let me deal with this."

Bianchi didnt even listen "You stupid bitch! I will show you your place!"

Violet knew that what she was about to do wouldn't please any of her bondmates. But it's not like she had ever chosen the safe or diplomatic route. If Bianchi wanted to go about it like this, she would take her head on.

"Curious how he is 'yours' when I am the one that got a wardrobe full of his clothes. You got that too? His shirts are really comfortable, right?"

Bianchi's rage reached the boiling point, the food in her hand turning into pure acid.

Violet's magic reacted to her wishes without even needing to be directed. But it didn't turn itself against Bianchi, instead freezing her bondmates in place, making them unable to interfere in her next actions and therefore sparing Bianchi from dying a quick death.

The italian woman threw her prefered weapon at Skull.

Instead of attacking, dodging or shielding herself she just firmly placed her legs wider, stepping directly in the flight path, so that it would completely hit her, instead of having any stray drops hit her bondmates.

The bondmates in question could only stare in horror. This was far from what they had expected. They had thought she would protect herself, maybe demonstrate her power directly and trash Bianchi in a matter of seconds. Not that she would deem that letting herself get harmed would be the way to go. To further their terror, they couldnt even act to remedy the situation.

Violet just calmly stood her ground while the poison ate through her skin and flesh.

It was actually a horrifying sight. Being able to see a face melt that quickly and viciously. Even Bianchi was surprised to see that she had actually hit her target directly.

Not that any of it mattered to Violet, after all her flames visibly reacted to it, knitting herself back together, following the trail of destruction that went through her face and shoulder.

Violets still partly skeletal face just smirked at the weak storm "That's it? That's how you choose to attack an Arcobaleno?"

Bianchi actually stumbled back, not having expected that her strongest attack didn't leave any impact on the, to her knowledge, weakest arcobaleno. She had never considered Skull anything other than useless.

"Oh come on pet." her voice for once spurting a mocking undertone "really? Nothing else coming?" She did take a few more steps towards Bianchi "I even make it easier for you to aim. Come on sweetheart. You can do it." she taunted still with the same smirk, that reminded them of the old Skull in all the wrong ways. She didn't take Bianchi seriously in any way.

"Darlin' I survived the world's deadliest poison at twelve, only having a scar from it. You really think I need to take you in any way seriously? Don't overestimate yourself like that." She laughed at that. Before turning around "Yeah, even humoring you like this is already a waste of time. Go back to playing with your dolls, yeah?"

The ones that understood how precarious the situation had actually been hurriedly jumped into the frame to pull Bianchi away and out of sight.

Only then was it when Violet freed her bondmates.

Instantly surrounded by them and feeling their fury and displeasure washing in waves off of them. More concerned with checking her state than actually going for revenge for now.

Reborn stood directly in front of "never do that again!" he gritted out while he wrapped his suit jacket around her, covering the now partly melted dress.

His eyes heatedly wandered over her whole body, checking for any lingering damage or effect the poison might have had.

"I'm fine. You would have jumped in and ruined it."

"Ruined it? You let yourself be harmed, nothing else!"

"Just let me handle this, Reborn. I know what I'm doing."

"Doesn't seem like it."

She just raised her eyebrow "So we are going back to how it was before? Then I shouldn't have needed to come as me if you'd prefer to belittle me."

He stilled "That's not how I meant it and you know it."

"Then trust me for once."

He clenched his fist but preferred to keep quiet. Wordlessly staring, still more than just displeased at his cloud.

The rest of the group actually held themself back from commenting. Reborn was their leader and in a case as such he had the last authority. they were restless, all of them had the urge to swarm out and act on their desire but they had to stay united.

Skull let out a deep breath "I'm sorry about ruining the dress"

"Who cares about the dress? I can make you a 1000."

"Please calm down. Nothing happened."

"She dared to attack you twice and you let it happen."

"And I'm not done with her."

He pulled his Fedora down, clearly frustrated

She knew that she went against everything Reborn stood for and how he had always acted but she knew that she had to handle this. If she wanted to be herself in the Mafia then she had to prove herself. She wouldn't let Bianchi get away unpunished but she would lose every last bit of respect if her bondmates acted instead of her.

While she had no use for being respected thanks to her status as an arcobaleno that kept her safe the tides could change now. Especially after their change in group dynamic was revealed. She would be the Achilles heel of the whole group, perceived as weak and an easy target to harm any of the others.

She wouldn't always stay with her bondmates and while she didn't want any responsibility she still didn't want to be caged and protected all the time.

Violet still wanted her freedom.

The cloud stepped closer to Reborn, placed her hands on his chest and met his eyes as earnestly and determined as she could. "You want me to trust you, correct? Because of my flame? Then trust me this time. Trust me just this once."

He was still irritated with the whole situation but he let out a deep breath and nodded at the cloud.

She smiled in response. She was grateful for this and she would definitely not disappoint him. She wanted to prove herself for once. She had come so far in showing her bondmates who she truly was, she shouldn't stop now.

She wasn't done with Bainchi yet. After all, don't dish out what you can't take.
