It's been gosh knows how long. You'd think Sun had fallen asleep on your shoulder where you two were huddled up on the ground if it wasn't for his occasional shifting at attempt to get any comfier if that was a possibility.

Warm and burning. He slowed down for the first time in a while as you two stayed like that. It's only been about ten minutes and he wasn't showing signs of letting go. You really didn't wanna take this from him, but you did have to get home eventually. You slowly lifted up your wrist from his back, and checked the time on your FazWatch adorned with the cute little Sun chibi on the side.

6:12pm

You breathed in for a second before letting out the bad news. "Hey Sunshine, as much as I wanna stay like this, I do have to get going soon. Sorry bud."

He squeezes you a little tighter for a second before slowly letting up and backing away to see your face.

"-Oh.. okay sunflower, y-you will be back tomorrow, right?" His voice was warbling, still with some remnant static from earlier. Sun could easily just check your schedule. He wanted to hear you say it though. His sunrays slowly poked back out from where they were tucked in to comfortably rest his head over your shoulder.

Grabbing his hand, holding it for a second, and then interlocking his pinky, "Pinky promise, Sunny. If I recall correctly, my shift is from eight to four.. but today it was four to two and.. I stayed a bit longer than that." You chuckled a bit.

His smile is warm, only a bit somber at the understanding you must leave, hoping tomorrow you actually do come back. You haven't broken any promises so far.

"I'll see you a little after eight okay?" You return to holding his hand. "Mind helping me up Sunshine?"

Removing his hand from yours, and with a squeeze around your waist, he flings you up and sets you back down on your feet, a bit more energetically that it had to be, but you didn't mind. He likes the noises you made when you were startled a bit.

Composing yourself before giving him a short stern stare with a slightly playful smile, you start your walk back to the security desk just a few feet away. You'd left your phone, map, and keys in the orange bag you got at the beginning of the day, and.. wow. This had all been just a single day. It felt like forever.

Grabbing your bag just for a second, and with Sun looming over you as much as he could from the other side of the desk, making sure his cherished gift was safe and sound, you hesitate.

Smiling, you pull out your phone. "Com'ere real quick Sunny." You ask, walking around the desk to the side.

He happily obliges, a bit confused at you intentions however.

Phone in hand, you turn around, back to him. "I just wanna take a picture of you and me, is that okay? There's no rules against that, right? Don't wanna be a rulebreaker now, do I?" You remark smugly.

"Oh! Oh not at all! Not at all.. I'd be sosososo happy to sunbite, pretty please go right on ahead!" He ducks down a good bit to frame his face a bit above your head. His warmth ever so obviously present behind you.

Opening the camera app, adjusting your phone and reaching your arm out as far as possible to capture the both of you, wrists still aching a tiny bit, him being the largest thing in the frame. You make a peace sign with your spare hand, band-aids visibly littering the lower bit, you smile brightly. He gives you silly little bunny ears, eyes closed with grin just as radiant.

Annnddd, after a couple extra photos.. a couple dozen extra, you're satisfied. You take a second to look at the photos, small differences between them, Sun's rays a bit of a blur in a few of them. Leaning back into Sun's warm frame, you show him as well while you flipped between them.

"Oh my stars! They look so good! Sosososososo good! Oh, I'm so happy.. Oh, I-I need to get you a gift tooo at some point! I hope hope hope that can tie you over until I somehow match the priceless art piece you oh-so generously gifted to me. I'm super grateful i-if it wasn't obvious enough!" He chuckles out. It was quite obvious.

"You don't have to get me anything, Sunbeam. These are perfect, don't you worry." You reassure him in vain.

"Howeverrrr…" You add on while he leans in a bit closer to you, entranced with whatever he can do to make you as happy as can be. "If you have any more of those cute little stickers of you, I wouldn't mind having some of those to take home with me.."

He lights right up. "Oh! Oh!" Adjusting himself to pull out a couple dozen stickers in wide variety of himself from of one of his many hidden pockets, he places them gently into your now cupped free hand, all neat and nice.

"No way. Sunny! These are so cute! Thank you so much oh my gosh I'm gonna put these up everywhere!" You announce proudly. They're really cute. There's maybe only one or two duplicates. You make sure he sees your smile as you reach over to place them on the side of the desk to put in your bag later. "Okay, okay" you giggle. "Rest of the pictures."

As you continue swiping over the photos, you swipe past the pictures you and Sun just took, and there's Mimi basking in a sunray with all her midnight glory. Cute green eyes and slit pupils. Sun clasps his hands around his cheeks.

"OH! That's a cat! Right? Right? I've never seen a real real real one! Oh gosh it's sosososo pretty! Are they yours!? What's their name, oh please please please tell me!" He whines a bit, bubbling at the pretty kitty. "I-if that's okay of course!" He sputters out, and you actually believe this bot has never seen a cat before. How would he? Being cooped up here for his entire life. However long that might have been..

Your cheeks widen before turning to your side to give him a closer look and he bends down a little more, mouth slightly agape studying the animal, "That's Mimi, yes she's my kitty. Very sweet, you'd love her."

Sun would definitely love her, but the thought of Moon being more akin to a cat crosses your mind very briefly.

"W-well.." He sulks a bit lower before resting a hand on your shoulder. "You.. you should really get back home to her. I'm sure she misses you." His sudden frown turns back into a soft, warm smile. You can't help but notice again and again your heart reacting in a odd way to his cute little gestures and expressions.

"Yeah.. sorry big guy." You hold his hand still resting on your left shoulder with your left hand, your right reaching up to rub the side of his faceplate.

He leans into it, closing his eyes to savor the moment, your thumb gently rubbing under his eye, along his cheek. He whirs and proceeds to pout a bit as the sensation is lost..

"Wanna at least walk me out to the Daycare lobby?" You offer, taking your phone and the stickers off from the side of the desk and adding it to the rest of your belongings inside of the FazBag.

He clasps his hands together and ceases his pout. "-Oh yes yes, of course of course! It would be my pleasure, dewdrop"

Your heart flutters for just a second as usual.

He waits for you to double check that you have everything, before you take his hand and he opens the door for you. You don't have to duck under his arm to pass through. You're never really going to get over how tall he is.

Before taking his hand yet again, you turn to him with an index finger raised, "Sorry, one second Sunny."

You quickly make your way into the break room, and out with an orange FizzyFaz. You were right, they did store the snacks in the breakroom. You deposit it into your bag with a surprised look from Sun. "H-hey I thought you said you don't wanna be a rulebreaker!"

You toss him a smug grin before taking his hand back. "Mmm if they didn't want employees helping themselves to snacks, they wouldn't put them in the employee break room now would they?"

Sun is distraught by your somewhat well put together argument, but only lets out a dismissive hum while you giggle a tiny bit at his disapproval.

Making your way up the stairs, him a little bit behind you but still towering over you, you're at the front gate to the Daycare before you know it.

You stop.

Turning to Sunny, you look up, and squeeze him close.

"Cya tomorrow Sunshine. Promise."

He guides his hand through your hair while you listen to his fans whir inside of his warm abdomen.

You have to let go eventually.

Unlocking your arms from each other, you hesitantly back up slowly.

"See you tomorrow, Sunflower!" He animates a wave, smiling as the gate door to the Daycare starts to close between you two, ducking lower and lower to keep you in view as you giggle. Your smile doesn't fade until the fused Sun and Moon symbol against a light and dark blue background separates you and Sun for the night. Your heart pangs. You don't move for a second. And neither does he.

You breathe in. You had a lot of questions to ask yourself tonight. Most of which you're not looking forward to.

Moon was silent the entire time, even though Sun was letting him through. He only giggled for a second before silencing himself quickly when you stalled revealing the surprise you made for Sun. He perked up at the crescent moon you added under your signature with the other two celestial objects, however still forever mute.

Distraught.

He'd admit that no one has gone to these lengths to gain their trust. Kind without really expecting anything in return. Genuine and sweet. It was confusing. It was oh so confusing.

However, there was still the possibility of abandoning them like so many others before have done already.

Moon knew this. Sun knew it as well.

Moon refused to get close. Moon refused. He couldn't hurt like that again. He refused. He couldn't. He wouldn't.

He won't. He won't. He won't. He won't. He won't. He won't. He won't. He won't. He won't. He won't. He won't. He won't. He won't.

"Moon?"

"..."

"Are you okay?"

Sun was walking away from the gates finally, down the stairs and into the Daycare once more.

He felt Moon's intense angst. He couldn't tell what over, but he could guess. Especially after who they just said goodbye to.

"I'm afraid too, Moon."

"..."

"I don't want them to leave. I don't want them to betray us."

"I..I know it's.. a possibility. B-but.. I don't wanna lose hope. I-it's hurt sososo much being alone.. I'd rather try and try and try again, ..failing at each turn. I'd..I would rather be deactivated before giving up hope that we could have a friend."

"..."

"I know you're scared.. I am too. But you can't say after today, you genuinely believe they're out to get us, do you!? They-they did so much they didn't have to! They were so nice.. sososo kind.. so sweet.. so warm."

"..."

"Cleaning us, helping to clean the Daycare! T-the gift they gave us! Oh they HAD to have worked sosososo hard on it! It's so pretty and wonderful.."

Sun heats up. "..The.. the way they.. cleaned us. Played. Laughed. H-hugged. How t-they.. look at us.."

"..."

"I..I think it'll be okay, Moon."

"Please don't hurt them."

"..."

Moon hums.

"Mmm.. no promises."

You eventually turn on your heel, away from the gate.

You pull out your map, brushing away the stickers off of it and back into the bag. The Pizzaplex closes at 8pm. It's just about.. 6:40pm. You can hear the muffled ambience of hundreds of people outside the Daycare hallway which it itself is relaxingly barren. The daycare had closed at six already, so there was no one here but you and the neon graffiti.

You really didn't want to shuffle your way through crowds, so you studied the map for an alternative route.

To your right, there seemed to be an entrance into the service tunnels running under the building. They were all linked, so you could easily navigate your way to the entrance of the Plex and leave from the service door there.

So off you went to the right. The left route being what would've let you to certain anxious doom.

Map in your bag yet again, you swapped it out for your phone. You wanted to look at the pictures you took with Sun. Just to see them again.

Opening the door, you rush on in.

It was too late to register the tannish paws with electric light-blue claws just past your phone screen as you slammed head first into something very solid and very metal.

You fell back out the doors and right on your ass, your phone being launched from your grip and landing somewhere on the floor next to you.

Still recovering from the instant headache you were rewarded with, whatever you ran into begins to speak.

"-Oh, Superstar! Are.. are you alright?" The fatherly voice coos, concerned at your not-so graceful display of clumsiness and the well-being of what silly sack of meat resided inside that skull of yours.

Recovering from the shock of being thrown on your ass, "..Ah, uhm.. Y-yea I think I'm fine.." You mumble out, still rubbing your forehead in null attempts to soothe the pulsating tension testing your pain tolerance.

The glimmering orangish-brown and electric blue neon bear crouches down a tiny bit. "I'm so very sorry, I really do hope your okay!" He soothes. "I didn't have very much time to react before you came barreling through the doors and straight into my chest. The metallic thud didn't sound very pleasant."

"Mmmm, yeah." Still getting your bearings, hoping you don't have a concussion.

"Well, at least your timing is immaculate! I couldn't have improvised a better moment suited for running into me if I tried! And I perform on stage multiple times a day!" He attempts at some humor to ease the situation before he picks up your phone.

Wait. Shit. You just ran into the Freddy Fazbear. Wonderful.

"Oh- gosh, shit" -you correct yourself, "I mean, shoot, sorry!"

Freddy takes a second to let you finish cleaning your potty mouth. "It's more than okay Superstar, I just really hope you're not hurt! Seriously, that thud sounded not too fun."

"I'm fine, really." You assure him.

You're probably fine.

Freddy takes a second before handing you your phone.

Of course it had the selfie open still and the fall it took along side you didn't crack the fucking screen or shut if off completely.

"So.. you're getting along well with the Daycare Attendants I hope." He hasn't yet noticed your wrists.

Red is climbing up your throat, and you reach for the phone before scrambling up onto your feet.

Freddy notices the now blue-ish yellow bruising on your wrists and the cute little band-aids littering them.

"Oh.. of course." He says in a less than cheerful tone.

Silence for a second.

"Y-yeah. They're.. something. But Sun is.. Very nice. He was a bit.. anxious.. at first, but.. I think we're on good terms now." You choose your words carefully. You're sure your ears are red and your blush is light pink at the very least by now.

Freddy grows a smug grin. "Mmhm, I can see that."

"However." he adds.

"I'm.. more than aware that Moon can be a bit.. aggressive." Eyeing your wrists again.

"If anything does get out of hand, please feel more than welcome to notify management or me, alright, Superstar?"

You sputter. "What? Oh-" You recognize where his gaze is facing. "No no no, that wasn't anything to do with-.."

He stares into your soul with a knowing tilt of his head. You cut yourself off, defeated.

"..Moon isn't bad.. I.. I think he's just misunderstood, I guess.." You warble out, unsure of your own words.

"I'll be fine. At least me and Sun are getting along.." You mutter out that last sentence a little quieter.

Freddy stands up a bit. "Tell that to the previous technicians."

Theres silence for a few seconds.

"..Please be careful, Superstar. Let us know if anything gets out of hand, okay?" His expression now somewhat worried and sorrowful.

"Okay."

He starts to walk past you, in the direction of the Daycare.

"W-wait, where are you going?" You stutter out, a bit concerned.

He turns around slightly. "Just going to check in with Sun, I try to occasionally. He doesn't get many visitors." He states, frowning a bit.

You look down a bit. Your shoes are suddenly fascinating. "Yeah. I don't think I'm going anywhere anytime soon though.." You pause.

"Sun is really nice, I..I don't get why anyone would treat him the way they do.. It.. it seems like no one even gives him a chance. He's so skittish and nervous at first, but once he gets comfortable around you, he's sweet. He's really, really sweet."

You. Said a bit too much.

Freddy hums. "Well.. don't get too attached now, Superstar." He turns away, making his way for the Daycare's main gate, but not before a smile appears across his face for a second.

If you weren't red already.. definitely are now.

You hastily rush through the doors you were knocked back from just a few minutes ago. You really aren't looking forward to the questions that are gonna be looming over you tonight.

Sun isn't satisfied with Moon's vague response, but he knows it's all he's getting for now.

Sun makes his way around the security desk, over to your pretty little gift you made just for him. He picks it up softly, holding it in his hands for a minute or two. His chest feels funny. Warm. Tense.

He eventually pulls himself out of the trance. Still gently holding his gift, he spots some lesser so put together arts and crafts projects.

It's the kid's crafts and drawings from earlier that you had neatly stacked on the security desk from the very few tables you cleaned when helping Sun (which he is ever so grateful for). He smiles knowing who put them there. He grabs those as well with his other hand. Making his way over to the right towards the tall cubbies, he collects the rest of the drawings and crafts from today that he gathered while cleaning up in record time as of just earlier.. before you..

He whirs and warms remembering the cherished oh so recent memory, before snapping himself out of it and making his way to the front of the Daycare.

As he's walking, down comes a wire, and he floats away into the sky before landing on his balcony.

Crawling through the tube separating the main room from the other, careful and mindful of the drawings he's holding as to not crumple them one bit, he emerges into the comfy nook on the other side made just for him (and Moon).

Kids' drawings and miscellaneous crudely constructed arts and crafts are hung up along the walls. It's a pretty little collection that he makes sure to cherish every single day. He sets the the kid's drawings and crafts onto the small banged up plastic table to the left of him. He's holding your gift in both his hands now, just admiring it for a couple minutes.

The wall directly front of him is blank. The only thing against it is two purple and pink bean bag chairs.

With some tape, he carefully applies it to on the very tippy top ray, this way he can flip it over in coordination with his head upside-down to see your name with the heart at the end, and the three little celestial bodies doodled directly under it.

It's perfectly centered and framed in the middle of the wall. It's the first thing he'll see when crawling through the tunnel into this magical escape.

A pretty, bright golden star. Just for him. All from you.

He sits, and stares. He'll put the rest of the crafts and drawings up later. For now, he just wants to take your gift in entirely, making sure the memory will always be permanent along with the rest of today in his files deep down.

Hands cupping the bottom of his face, criss cross applesauce. He could stay here until you got back tomorrow and he'd be just fine. But. He knows he can't.

Eventually, he's startled out of his comfy trance by the Daycare doors opening.

The low fatherly voice announces his presence.

"Hey Sundrop, are you here? It's Freddy."
