The warmth of Sun has left you, and as you wake, you're in agony. Pulsating pressure in your chest and sides of course. You had forgotten to take your painkillers. Would've been a good idea to take about two or so before your little nap, wouldn't it? Sun at the time took care of the pain mostly, so you didn't think about it. You look around for him, and the only sun you spot is the gift you made for him hung up in it's cute little place centered on the back wall. You had wondered what he did with it, and you smile at the scene. He has it hanging up on his own little wall, opposite to the entrance of the tunnel. This is the first time you've seen his room, and you didn't really take all of it in since you got there until now. With Sun gone, and pain as your only company, what else could you do but admire the.. bedroom? Didn't have a bed, but gosh was the makeshift one you assume Sun had made you comfy. Would've been perfect if he was still here...

Regulating your breathing, you looked around as much as you could. Children's drawings and crafts littered the two side walls. It was cute. Sun saved a lot of the stuff the kids would make for him.

You noticed a few interesting drawings that caught your eye. On the wall directly above you was a drawing of a really tall house. You were looking at it upside-down, neck craned a bit backwards. You recognize it as the one you complimented your first day which was.. two days ago? The day before today, depending on what the time was. - Anyways, it was the drawing you complimented a kid on before getting to work on making the sun that.. Sun now had hanging up in his room off to your left, a spot reserved just for it. You were laid perpendicular to the side walls. By the perspective from looking into the room from the tunnel, your feet laid towards the right, and your head to the left, the tunnel into the room being off to your right side.

More than half of the drawings included Sun and the kids, and a lot fewer than that of Moon. The rest were the occasional animals, flowers, scenery, rainbows. All kinds of things kids would draw. The crafts included silly paper plate animals, macaroni necklaces, hand turkeys, stuff you'd usually find decorating the art room of a kindergarten class. And Sun saved them all. It was a cute thought of him potentially still hanging up the Moon 'fan-art' if Moon didn't do it himself.

Besides the few cardboard boxes along the walls closest to the tunnel, the room looked pretty neat. There were two beanbags at the end wall, purple and pink, and a small yellow table with an assorted rainbow of different colored hearts on it. Blankies made up the floor, a lot more under you compared to the rest of the room to make sure you were as comfortable as can be.

You didn't know what was at the end of the tunnel - probably another room. The only thing you were concerned with at the other side however was the zipping of a wire and a thud onto the floor.

You looked through the tiny portion of the tunnel you could see the other room through and heard a switch flick and the room fill with light as mechanical parts twisted and turned, a jammed motor here and there presumably fighting to push out Sun's broken rays. Moon when you saw him was rough around the faceplate, a few stray pieces you chalked up to broken machinery that you now assume were the actual rays that refused to re-enter the faceplate, due to them being bent and all.

At least Sun was back, and you would've smiled ear to ear rather than the warm grin if his face approaching through the tunnel wasn't so torn up. It made your heart pang a little. You wanted to fix him up, and he promised that if you were feeling better, you could.. which you'd try to make it seem like you were.

He saw you awake and looking towards him and hurried through a little faster. "O-oh! Gosh, you're awake! Oh how are you feeling Starshine!? I'm sososo sorry, but we got up to go get you some of these 'Allergy Friendly Mixed Nuts' yes.. and-and a couple more bottles of water!" To which he deposited about four or so into a cardboard box to the left of him, bringing one over to your side.

"And-and you really really really should eat! We really really do hope it's okay.. it's the only 'healthy' thing in this messy messy building.." He explained, expressing the word 'healthy' with a doubtful finger quote on quote finger motion, dragging out said word to emphasize his point.

Bending down onto his knees next to you, he worriedly clasped his hands together before holding your back gently to support you sitting up. Wincing with every motion, slowly making your way up, Sunny held your back so you didn't have to push down with your legs or use your core muscles more than necessary.

Looking down at you, now rubbing circles into your upper back, hitting a soft sensitive spot that made you shudder, he handed you the mixed nuts and sat the water down next to you. "N-now" stuttering a bit noticing the cute little face you made initially as he slowly drew circles circles into that one spot that shook you a bit, "I-I know that I promised that we could go to Parts and Service if you felt better! But! You-you definitely art not! No no no.."

"Yea, you caught me Sunshine. Could you hand me my bag pretty please?" Only a tiny bit disappointed at the sudden lack of warm pressure to your back. You opened up the package he gave you and started eating. You were a bit hungry. You hadn't eaten since breakfast you don't think.

"Aaaaand here you go Starbite, your waters is right next to you to if you get thirsty!" He announced proudly. He really did well looking out for you.

You pulled out the painkillers and popped two to make up for the lack of them before your nap, next you grabbed your phone, checking the time. Of course it was 5:14am. You didn't sleep very much, but you really had no idea to gauge how long you were out after Moon choked you almost to death.

"-Oh, Sunny, I almost forgot." You said with a smug grin. "Got you a few more gifts." And your smile only widened as his intact eye brightened. Gosh you really needed to get him fixed up, it pained you seeing him this way and you could only hope he wasn't actively hurting.

"OH! R-really!? You got me more gifts!? Y-you.. you're far too sweet Starlight, wha- why.. Y-you really didn't have to! No no.." His voice box shuddered and glitched here and there, you tried your best not to giggle at his ramblings lest your torso remind you of how fucked up it was.

"Mmm but I did, and there's nothing you can do about it.. Unless.. you don't want your surprises?" You grin returned to a devilish smug expression.

"W-wha.. W-well, of-of course I do! ..b-but you really really didn't have to!" The suspense was killing him, and you knew it all the same. If it wasn't for the events of tonight, you would've dragged it out a bit longer, but you decided to lay your cards on the table.

Resting the snack bag of assorted nuts to the left against your leg, you dug through your bag, reaching into the inside pocket, and pulling out three photos.

They were all the selfies you took with Sun, small but noticeable differences between them, and Sun would be sure to study each pixel and their uniqueness.

He gasped, and clutched his face instinctively before a quiet wince. You noticed, and your smile dropped a bit. He recovered quickly however as to not let you question it, at least not in that exact moment.

"O-oh Starlight.. Oh my.. gosh. Y-you got them printed!? A-are they for me? They're for me right? I can keep them!? Oh please-pleasepleasepleaseplease! I would dieee~ without them, I really would!" He whined, and your smile returned briefly as his hands fidgeted, wanting them in his hold right then and there.

"Yes Sunny, they're yours. You can keep them, promise." And you handed them over, to which he quickly but gently took and admired close to his eye. His rays tried to spin, but jammed and again he cringed, a short and pained warble coming from his voice box unintentionally.

"Sunny.." Your expression turned to a worried frown as your gut sank. "I'm.. sorry to ruin the moment, but.. are you hurting?"

He got up and moved to the table off to your left, center of the beanbags, placing the photos down gently for him to later hang up.

He whined, "..It's.. it's only a little itsie bitsie bit, i-it's nothing really! I-I can handle it. It'll be okay, it will. It will." He tried his best to convince you but it only made you feel worse.

"Is it okay for us to talk about it? About earlier tonight? Would you be okay with that, Sunshine?" You asked carefully, making sure to add "It's okay to say no." a second after when he didn't respond initially.

He looked at you with his injured eye, and you motioned for him to come towards you.

As he made his way back to his original spot, criss-cross to your side, and you reached out for his hand, to which he didn't hesitate to give you.

You did want just to hold it, but you also couldn't help but notice some of the silicone material at the tips of his fingers chipped and damaged.

He pouted, sulking as he radiated warmth once again encompassing around you. "..We can talk.."

He explained what happened, what he did. You had to reassure him a couple of times that you weren't at all upset with him and you were just concerned and cared about his well-being. You wish you could hug him like you did the few times before, especially like when you gave him the sun you made on Friday, but your ribs were broken, unfortunately the most you could grant him was soothing his arm and hand in your lap, slowly tracing your free fingers up and down it as you held your other hand in his.

It broke your heart to pieces, and you hid your head hanging downwards in a futile attempt to conceal the tears trickling down your face. You think you would've learned the first time after applying makeup that you'd ruin it with tears here before being able to wash it off at home.

Your grip on his hand tightened a bit, not enough to hurt him, you made very sure you didn't hurt him. After he was done, you needed a sip from the water bottle he got you to rehydrate.

"I'm so.. I'm so sorry Sunny, I'm so sorry. I-I really wish I could've been here sooner.." You looked up at him, jaw quivering the tiniest bit only he'd notice so soon. He used his free hand to brush away your tears, cleaning up a bit after the makeup made it's way down, tracing under your jawline and ending where the teardrops fell. You keened into his touch.

"..I.. I'll fix you right up s-soon enough, I promise. It'll be okay." As your throat tensed and heart sank, you took some time to recover and hold him, squeezing his hand tight to let him know you were right there with him.

You still had questions however. Sun mentioned Moon hurting himself too, but not to specific extents. Moon was arguing inside of his head - he didn't want you to know.

"Hey.. Sun. W..what happened with Moon? Is.. is he doing okay?" You asked hesitantly, knowing what he did to you, but concerned and confused by his gestures after you woke up. Unless the lights turned on and snapped him out of his homicidal rage, he at the very least took you somewhere there was light, right? That didn't make sense either to you though, as Sun would have had to willingly turn the lamp to a low enough brightness for Moon to come out again. You knew the answer, but you wanted to hear it.

Sun explained to you that Moon didn't want you to know about what he did to himself, and you left it at that.

"That's okay.. Moon can tell me when he's ready, or never if that's what he prefers." You knew he was listening. "I-I am worried about him too though." You looked up into Sun's eye, just past it.

"What happened, after I passed out? Did Moon bring me up here? Why was he the first one I saw when I woke up? He.. he was using an ice pack on my bruises.."

Sun ignored Moon this time, you did deserve to know what happened to you while you were unconscious.

"He uh, he.." Sun hesitated, his tone nervous and quiet. "he.. took you up here himself. He m-mentioned he regretted.. what he did.. yes.. and-and was clouded by rage and incoherence.. angry.. he thought you-you.. abandoned us.. B-but! When he snapped out of it.. after bringing you up to our room.. he gathered up the blankies from the supply closet, a-and a pillow, the lamp.. bandages and medical supplies. He was the one th-that patched you up and took care of you.. I-I was blocked out until right before you woke up.. I didn't see him do any of it.. but I think.. he.. he did his best to fix the mess. T-that doesn't make it okay! Of course, of course! B-but he.. he does regret it.. I think.." Sun paused, catching his metaphorical breath.

"He's sorry."

Sun anxiously explained the situation. He couldn't look at you for more than a second while talking, especially over Moon telling him to shut up here and there in his head.

"..Oh."

"Moon.. Moon made the bed? And.."

"Yes..yes.." Sun nervously warbled.

"I.. I think I'd like to talk with Moon sometime.. It doesn't have to be now, but. I do want to talk with him."

Sun hummed in disapproval. "O-okay.. okay. I-I really do think he's.. sorry. But please do be careful Starlight, okay?"

"Promise." And you wrapped your pinky around his, securing the deal.

Your questions weren't answered fully, and you only knew the answer to some vaguely. You did want to have a talk with Sun and Moon individually at some point, they definitely had some issues you wanted to help them work through. But for now, you had to fix their physical problems.

"..Alright bud, that's all I'll ask for now."

He smiled warmly, and his relief was cut short by your next sentence.

"But.. I am feeling better. And you made a promise."

He didn't want to go to Parts in Service. Not because it was with you, the room was just home to some bitter memories. He felt safe with you. His worries were only few when you were around. He was hurting, he had fibbed a bit earlier when assuring you it was okay, you knew this of course, but he did want you to help him. It was a scary step to make regardless.

"The pain meds are kicking in, and I'm sure I can work on you without hurting myself, okay? I really do wanna make you feel better, and I promise I will." You squeezed his hand a little tighter.

His only response was closing his eye and gently leaning his faceplate to carefully rest on top of your head, avoiding parts where the pressure would hurt. You stayed like that for a bit, tucked in his neck, rubbing his hand and forearm in a way you hoped alleviate some of his pain. His soft whines here and there you hoped meant it was working.

You stayed like that for a bit. Warm and together. He wouldn't rather be anywhere else in the world, and you never wanted to have to leave his side.

"Alright Sunshine, help me up pretty please." To which he whined, inevitably torn form your gentle touch, and clasped his hands around your waist, gently helping you upwards. The wincing and his you expressed was unavoidable, but he still soothed you after by readjusting your hair and rubbing a line over your ear.

"ah- T-thank you Sunny, just grab my bag and we can.." You eyed the tunnel, you're pretty sure crawling through that would be more pain than it's worth, but with the room having no other exit, you looked back up at Sun.

"Uh.. How'd you.. or Moon.. get me here in the first place..?" You asked, and he tilted his head a bit listening to the response Moon gave him, even though it was dragged out, not wanting to sound like he was swaddling you in his arms or anything (he was).

"O-oh, yes, he.. he carried you.. under him.. supporting you-your back with one of his arms.." He explained nervously, before a slight grin washed over your face and you accepted your fate.

"Ah, okay. Guess we don't have any other choice." And Sun fidgeted nervously. "Just add a water bottle to the bag and I'll carry it while we make our way through, okay?"

"Ooo-oh-kay, If it's okay with y-you Sunflower.." He nervously used his huge arm to balance you to him as he leaned into the tunnel, your arms wrapped around him for extra support. The warmth against his chest was way more comfortable than you wanted to admit, and you couldn't help but tilt your head forwards into him, pouting a bit when he exited and adjusted you to the floor, before quickly recomposing yourself with a slight blush painting your face.

Looking up into his eye for a second before swiftly jolting your head down to avoid it scanning your face. "Ah-ha.. t-thanks Sunny." You stuttered out, before promptly turning on your heel, slowly making your way to the balcony with him Soon to follow.

Yet again your face would light up again as he scooped you carefully, legs over his left arm and back supported by his right. Floating down you looked up at him, to which you once again locked eyes and resigned your head into his chest in embarrassment.

Fuck. You're a mess.

You both made your way out the Daycare doors, and into the hallway outside of the lobby. It was about six by now, so the lights had all turned on, thankfully keeping Moon at bay for now.

You swapped your bag into one hand, and made your way to his side, shyly grasping for his hand as you locked fingers and could feel his gaze down on you. You really hoped he couldn't see how red you were. He had his fill so far regardless.

Off to your right where you smacked nose first into Freddy at the end of Friday, you and him made your way to the maintenance tunnels. He was quiet out of habit, ducking under the lowered parts of the ceiling as he had dreadfully done hundreds of times before. Your hand in his alleviated his worries a small bit, but he still couldn't help but feel uneasy.

"Hey, Sunshine, you doin okay?" You looked up to him after your blush faded out, and he turned his head to you in a quick jerk, snapping out of whatever memory he was reliving.

"-O-oh y-yes, of course of course I am Sunflower! J-just a bit itsie bitsie nervous, it's all okay.. all okay." He sputtered out, voice box crackling with each syllable. It pulled something in your heart and you wanted to press to ask what was wrong, but you had an idea. Parts and Service was not fun for him.

"..Okay Sunny, I'm right here if you do need anything though, okay? If you're uncomfy, I want to know so I can help if possible." You rubbed the small bit you could at the side of his hand your thumb barely reached - it being so small in his palm, you're hardly able to wrap the tips of your fingers around the spaces in-between his own.

He hummed in response, and you reached the doors to the Parts and Service room.

He stopped. Staring through the door as you had opened it, stiff and still.

"..Hey.. Sunny..? Are you okay? You can talk to me, I'm here." Reassuring as you made your way back to him and stood at his front. You sat your bag down at the side of the door's cold metal frame and reached for both of his hands, which snapped him out of whatever trance he was in.

"O-Oh! Oh.. s-sorry.. sorry Sunbite, I-I.. I'm.." He stuttered, barely able to get his words out. You rubbed his hands, grounding him to you.

"Sunny, Sunny, you're okay. You can talk to me. I promise I will do any and everything possible to make sure you're comfortable. We really need to get you fixed up, but I want to work this out with you to make sure you're okay doing it. Is that alright? Do you wanna make your way inside with me? We can talk there, I-"

He cut you off letting go of your hands and holding your face gently. It took you aback and he seemed to relax his body a bit more.

"Y..yes.. that's okay, I think. Sunflower.." He let go and you reached for one of his hands again, guiding him slowly into the room, observing his reaction closely to make sure he was completely okay.

The giant encapsulated cylinder with a grim metal chair in the middle of it was stationed at the back center of the room. It had a control panel on the right side, and glass to look in. There was machinery above the chair, which looked like it could operate certain procedures by itself. The headrest contained more moving parts that you thought you'd have to investigate soon, cringing however a bit at the idea of Sun being strapped into that thing. You had a feeling you wouldn't be using it.

The floor was a dark, grimey marble-like material, though you definitely knew it wasn't actual marble. More like polished concrete if anything. The ceiling had exposed wiring and pipes strung about, it was gloomy and eerie, and flicking on the light before entering the room didn't help. To the right was a large metal table, and surrounding it were tool boxes and a few carts here and there.

On the far left of the room was what you were most interested in: spare parts. The area was huge and separate from the rest of the room, the ceiling made it's way up a couple feet higher compared to the one you were standing under right now. It contained a ton of large drawers stacked up on top of one another. Hanging endoskeletons occupied a portion of the wall, with a few spare exoskeleton parts on the ground surrounding them. You would have some trouble sorting through all of it to find Sun and Moon's spare parts, but you were prepared to be here all day if that meant they were feeling better.

Observing the room and preparing the required course of action to fix Sun and Moon up, you didn't notice Sun practically vibrating behind you.

"O-oh Sunny? W-wha.. What's wrong?" You slowly reached for his hand, him lost in his head once more. but this time when your hand met his, he flinched, and almost fell backwards.

You stood frozen, mouth slightly parted and eyebrows raised in worry. He took a second to come to, and when he did he promptly rushed over to you to make sure you were okay, like he wasn't the one that needed help right now.

"Oh - S-Sunflower! A-are you okay? Oh o-oh gosh, I didn't hurt you did I? I-I'm sososososo sorry oh gosh, I-I didn't mean to.. I just.. I wasn't thinking, nonono." He inspected your visible body, differentiating between the bruises from the accident and ones he might've caused as he violently flinched backwards.

You grabbed his hand with one hand, and with the other, you gently held his face in a small undamaged portion as to not hurt him and slow his anxious rambling.

"I'm okay, I'm okay Sunshine. But.. look at me." You waited for his eye to settle into yours. "You need to tell me what's wrong so I can help you feel better. I only want you to be comfortable, I really do care about you and would never do anything to intentionally hurt you. You just need to communicate with me, can you do that? Pretty please?"

He was silent for a couple seconds before relaxing his stiff frame again. "Y-yes.. I-I think I can do that, for you Sunflower. I'm so- I'm sorry. I.."

You were patient, and waited for him to express himself as you soothed his hands and guided him slowly as he walked with you to the table at the right of the room. You hopped up on it, feet dangling above the ground a couple of inches, and he positioned himself in front of you. He was still significantly taller than you, having to crouch down somewhat to meet you at a reasonable gaze. He whined a bit before looking anywhere but where your eyes were.

"N..not many.. not many workers are very very very nice when.. when repairing us or-or doing scheduled maintenance.. It.. - it hurts.. A-and I tell them that a-and that I'm s-scared and they just, they wont listen.. We hate the chair, we asked before if w-we didn't have to be strapped down, and he-he promised that we didn't.. t-that it didn't have to hurt! But.. he still.. he promised.. and.."

He paused and looked down to avert his face from yours. Your heart had sunk lower than it ever has before in your entire life.

"I-I stopped asking eventually, and some would promise it would be okay.. and - and.. they'd lie - they would hurt us s-still. I.. I'm scared. I don't wanna.. I d-don't wanna hurt anymore, Sunflower. I really really don't I really really really don't!"

You slowly positioned his head into your chest as his voice box stuttered and tightened, glitchy crackling plaguing every other word. You wanted to soothe him, you really wanted to at least gently caress an intact sunray, but he had none. You only made circles in his hand and rubbed up and down his arm. You cried then. You have no fucking idea how anyone could be so heartless. You saw it on your first day - this wasn't just a machine. He was real, and you wanted to protect him from now on. You would make sure no one ever treated him that way again.

Your heart burned in agonizing pure rage for a couple of second, before stuffing down what lengths you were willing to go for him in a box for later.

He shook in your hold, small strained noises coming from his throat occasionally. You both needed some time to recover after that. Your chest hurt so bad, and not because of your ribs.

Eventually you spoke again. His faceplate still gently pressing against your torso.

"..Sunny.. I.. I fucking promise you, I will make sure you never have to hurt again, never ever. Okay? I know that you've been promised the same before, but I hope you can trust me when I say it'll be okay when I'm with you from now on."

He whined a bit as you continued.

"I won't use the chair, you don't have to enter the capsule at all. It'll take a bit longer I think, but I can and will make sure you don't have to feel a single thing while I work on you. You won't be restrained, you will not hurt."

He was burning up against your skin. Shaking. His fans were overclocked attempting to cool his body from the stress of recalling all those memories with audible whirring. He expressed the robotic equivalent of crying in your chest. You rubbed his hand while soothing him best you could, using the most gentle of voice to explain you'd make sure he'd be okay.

"..I.. I have an idea." You say hesitantly, a bit unsure even of yourself.

He hummed shallowly in question.

"I wanna turn the lights off. If I do anything bad, I think Moon will be more adamant to stop me."

He pulls back and looks up at you, and you can feel the worry radiating off of him.

"I promise I won't hurt you, and I promise you won't be restrained. I will fix you up, good as new." You're holding both of his large hands now, using your thumb to rub soothing circles into wherever they could.

"But.. I think Moon will hold me to those promises a bit stronger. You don't have to be here for it if you wanna rest a bit.. And I do wanna talk to him regardless. Is that okay Sunshine?"

A pause as he conversates inside of his head.

"O-okay.. but.. please.. please promise." As he looks into your watery eyes.

"..Be careful, Sunflower."
