Your.. chest feels funny as you groggily adjust your eyes to the dim yellow light of their room. It's really not just your ribs - your chest does feels a little tense, but more specifically, your lungs. Recalling the last thing you remember, it kinda makes sense why they feel light and tight.

As you lay comfortably on your back against a soft pillow and stacks of blankies, sensation returns to you as you adjust to being conscious again. You press your forearm against the blankets to push yourself up before a cool large hand splays against your upper chest, resigning you to laying back down with a nudge backward.

"Mmmh, take it easy now, little star.." The deep voice soothes you into relaxing as you once were. You look over to Moon, him cross-legged at your side watching over you with his tiny, pretty white eyes.

He moves his arm slowly to grab something behind him.

"..You should take your pain medication."

He turns around back to face you before gently pressing his fingers against your lips requesting entry, you part them and catch the pill without protest. It's bitter until he carefully tips the water bottle for you to take a sip and swallow.

He hums, satisfied. "..You did so very good, Starlight. Do you want to sit up now?"

You hum out a little "Mhm" while nodding your head. His gentle cold hand sneaks under your back, your body responding with goosebumps spreading across your skin, despite the shirt separating the two of you. He pushes gently, observing your face closely for any discomfort until you're sitting up straight.

You didn't notice the Sun and Moon themed plushies you had between your left arm until you felt them fall out and reside next to you. You smile at them, not having any idea where they're from given you haven't seen any merchandise regarding the two robots anywhere so far. You're definitely buying them, or stealing, whichever meant you could keep them for yourself.

Moon's hand breaks contact with your back, the lack of his touch impulsively pressuring you to grab it into your own before he can resign it to his lap. He's a little taken aback, and you're surprised at the sudden needy gesture as well, but you quickly recover to scoot back into the purple beanbag behind your pillow while guiding him over.

You had a pull on them, not physically however. If they wanted to, you couldn't budge them an inch. But they wanted you to move them, they'd always let you.

Moon naturally resides next to you against the beanbag, laying down slightly, head resting above you still. Of course, you choose him over the comfort of the squishy pillow. He was a comforting cool, and in the barely ventilated room, you would want him regardless of if you had an itsie bitsie crush.

You lean your head against his shoulder despite the fading, weak protest of your ribs given the medication kicking in. You twist to your side, and pull your now highest arm around him, your other resting below the first.

Moon relaxes, still a little surprised at your insistence to snuggle against him. He slowly wraps his arm around you as you squeeze a little tighter.

You're not going to fall back asleep, you don't even know what time it is, you need to get up. You definitely would not let him occupy your mouth to the point of suffocating into unconsciousness again, nope not even that wouldn't cause you to wanna rest right now. Just gonna.. lay.. here.. against his cool, soothing chest.. in his oh so comforting arm wrapped around you. Fuck, your chest feels funny.

His feels even better.

Okay, so you slept a little longer. Who could blame you, right? Nothing weird about cuddling an absurdly comforting robot in their own room after.. making.. out with him until you.. pass out..

You mumble something as you come to once again. Moon tilts his head to look down at you following an inquisitive hum.

"..Mmh.. I.. can't believe my job.. is to kiss.."

A yawn escapes you, ending with little squeak, breaking the sentence.

"..robots.."

Moon's chest vibrates as a he laughs softly, despite not having a diaphragm to cause the fluttering.

You just tuck your head further into his chest before taking a deep breath and groaning. You push off him and lean up, his arm still connected to you, hand resting on your thigh.

"..What.. time is it?"

"2:14. You slept quite a bit."

You look back to him. "Uh huh, well.. you did kinda.. knock me out."

He smirks.

"Are you complaining?"

Turning away, you hum. "..No."

Finally throwing the blanket off of you, you make to your knees, still a bit dizzy.

"Gosh, I really wonder what they assume I'm doing all day.."

Management, Wendy, whoever was really in charge of your schedule and overviewing your hours wasn't being very attentive. Well, Wendy did kinda catch on to how flustered you were during your call in the hospital. Not gonna think about that now.

You check your phone, then your Fazwatch. Absolutely zero notifications, guess your job really is kissing robots.

Moon sits up and stands to his full height.

"You're hungry. I'm going to get you something to eat." He notifies you while making his way to the tube.

"..Oh.. uh.. d-don't worry, I'm not really hungry, Moon, but.. thank you." You fib a little, whether that be out of not wanting him to go out of his way for you, or just wanting him to stay, he doesn't buy it.

"Mmh. Your tummy was rumbling. Sun is insisting as well. I'll be back soon, Starlight." He darts through the tube before you have a chance to object once more.

Kinda embarrassing they could hear that, also kinda embarrassing that Sun was likely there while Moon explored your mouth with his tongue as your tummy did somersaults. Aaaaaand.. there are the butterflies again. You dismiss the memory before it evolves into something less removable in the moment.

You take in the room once more, there's not really that much to do besides snoop through the cardboard boxes against the wall closest to the tube. You do notice however three little books sitting on the yellow kid's table. You approach the table adorned with colorful hearts, barely distinguishable in the dim light of the lamp on top of it.

Stacked on top of each-other, you arrange them side to side.

A poetry book, a lullaby book, and a story book.

These weren't here before, and you ponder them for a split second before recalling Moon mentioning someone he was moderately close to gifting him books, just before.. she left. Forever.

Your heart drops a little, and a frown paints your face.

You're glad you can be here for them. Hopefully.. forever.

Hopefully.

You're startled out of inspecting the books, just about to open one until you hear a thud in the room over, likely Sun or Moon landing on the balcony.

You really don't have time to stack the books back up, so you resign yourself to simply backing up a bit. A second later, Moon is rising to his full height in front of the tube, a tray in his hands.

He glances at the books, then to you, before setting the tray down on the same table. He stacks the books on top of each-other, before taking them to a cardboard box and setting them inside.

"..In case you somehow needed any more motivation to rest." He returns to the table as you step forward to it as well.

"..Moon.. okay.. first of all, if you ever need to talk to me about anything. Please, know I'm here. For both of you, always. Second, how the fuck did you get pineapple.. and.. popcorn chicken..? And churros!?" If you knew the Plex had this wide of a selection of food, you wouldn't have gotten salad on your first day.

"..Language.. Unless you want me to clean your mouth again." Moon smirks as your face lights up in a blush.

"..Ah.. uh.."

An awkward pause as he slowly tilts his faceplate, nightcap falling from one side to another, still grinning slyly.

"..Okay.. really, where'd you get all this?" You sit on your knees as he slides over the tray, him lowering to sit criss-cross at the other end.

"..Mmh, well, there's other parts of this building than just the Entrance and Atrium. We should show you sometime."

You unwrap the fork from the plastic wrapping. "Hm, I'd.. like that."

"If you're reeeeally curious, we had to remove and wash the pineapples from on pizza. The chicken and churros were their own option."

Moon rests his faceplate into one of his hands, elbow against the table, watching you closely as you picked up the pineapple in your fork and chewed. It was a little awkward, but you really were hungry.

"Ah, how sweet of you.. Thank you. And probably Sun given the lights aren't off."

"..Mhm, veeeerry proud of how well he's learning to sneak around. So naughty of him." Moon chuckles lowly.

"Oh, really? I didn't think Sun would take after you. You're kinda.. polar opposites? Lunar opposites." You giggle at the pun, if that's what it's called.

Moon's smile widens wryly. "..Oh, then you'll be very surprised given his.. thoughts.. as he watched meee… Mmmmh.. Nau-." Moon suddenly lowers his head as he chuckles at Sun's frantic quarreling inside their shared headspace.

"..Ah.." You hesitantly take a bite of the popcorn chicken while looking away in a vain attempt to conceal your bright red blush.

Moon finally ceases chuckling and looks up towards you, grin still everpresent, eyes boring into the side of your face. "I'll let you figure it out for yourself now, Starlight.. Settle your blushing and eat for now.. regardless of how much I ennnjooyyy it.."

Moon's voice lowers at that last part you barely catch as you turn to meet him, the heat flushing your face worsening at his own fault. His words conflicting with each-other about his intentions.

"..You.. You're counterproductive.." Burying your head downwards, stabbing into some pineapple.

"..Mmhmmm.." He returns to resting his face as he did previously on his hand, smug grin observing you finish up your meal.

You reach for a churro after a brief period of recovery as a stupid thought suddenly breaches into your skull. The engineering gremlin isn't gonna let this one go. Yeah, that's a good excuse.. "Hey.. Moon?"

"Mmh?"

"..Can you.. taste?"

His grin falters before growing wide and malicious once more. "Oh, we can taste, little star.. For example.. Y-"

"Not! Not what I meant!" You jab a churro in his direction as his eyes dim in curiosity, imitating a squint.

"..I.. am just wondering if you wanna taste this churro.." ..Even though knowing the other thing he almost got out was.. interesting..

"Ah, uh-huh. We won't be able to eat it, but if you wish to see our tongue again so badly.." Moon takes the churro out of your hand before sticking his tongue between his sharp fangs and wrapping it violently around the cinnamon stick.

You're not sure whether you should be watching the display he's so obviously exaggerating for you, but you can't help but stare. His.. fucking tongue is far too life-like. Blue and.. uh.. slimy. Okay, that's enough.

"..A-alright, hand it back, you're done." You reach your hand out. Not a very good idea given it was entirely covered in his pseudo-saliva.

"..Sweet.." He giggles as you drop the wet churro absent of cinnamon onto a napkin before wiping your own hands off.

"..Weirdo.."

"Mhmm"

It's a few minutes of awkward silence as you work at the remaining, non-violated churros. The books Moon had laid out regain your attention as you resign yourself in your head however.

"..Hey, Moony?"

"..Yesss?"

"Were.. you gonna read to me..? The books.. were pretty. I'm sure they're really nice. I wouldn't mind it sometime.." You watch as his eyes dim ever so slightly.

"..They're very nice.. Sarah had good taste.."

He pauses before relaxing himself a tiny bit lower, resigning his gaze from your eyes to the table below him as he recalls the difficult memory.

"..I.. would aaaalways read what she was reading behind her back as she sat at the security desk during naptime.. I.. guess she got annoyed, mmh.. seemed that way sometimes. She gifted me the books, and never returned."

Your heart pangs and your throat tightens.

"..I've read them all a couple.. hundred thousand times. In my head from memory, and physically as I hold them."

"..Moon.." You set down your fork.

"..That was the first time we ever felt cared about.. well.. since we got here.. It.. it hurt.. waiting for her to return. A few weeks later was when I learned how to access some of the building's systems, finding employee schedules. At least we had closure."

He didn't notice you getting up, and before you knew it either, you had your arms wrapped around him, on your knees as your head dug into his side.

"..Moon"

"..I.. think I.. hurt.. you.. so you would leave, so it wouldn't hurt us as much, if you left, so we wouldn't get attached." Moon's voice box fizzled and cracked, resembling glitching as he slumped into your grip. You squeezed harder.

"..We're still a little afraid.. I'm sorry, Starlight. I'm so sorry I hurt you. I know it doesn't fix it, but I'm so sorry." He whirs and warbles. This is the first time he's felt this horribly weak in your grasp.

"It's okay, Moony.. I'm never, never ever, going anywhere. I promise you two. I promise."

You let a tear or two fall as you hold him, and minutes pass as he slowly warms in your arms. He moves, and shifts out of your grip as you let out a small whine. You quickly brush away your tears before he turns to face you.

Moon stares at you for a second as you collect yourself. His face is somber, but barren otherwise. The stale silence is worrying, him gently moving his arm finally relieves you.

Moon slowly reaches to your right ear, brushing aside your hair with his fingers while his thumb simultaneously wipes under your eye to dismiss any stray tears you forgot. His thumb swipes from right to left, slowly joining the rest of his massive fingers to hold at your earlobe. Shivers work their way down your neck as his hand lowers and fiddles with the sun-themed earring attached.

He looks into your eyes before swapping to the other ear with his opposite hand. He explores, and finds nothing below the empty ear. He pulls away just like before, however this time, hovering his hand in front of your face.

Gentle glinting shines off the metallic object in the soft yellow light of the room, dangling below his two fingers as it sways only inches in front of you.

Your heart jumps as your tummy drops.

"..M..Moon.. How did.. y-"

He cuts you off.

"Magic."

You studied the small metallic earring, akin to the previous one Moon destroyed on your very first day, with just one key difference.

In-between the glimmering crescent moon, there rested a tiny four point star, encompassed in the empty space surrounding it.

"..Moon.." You almost choke on your words as your throat tightens. His face isn't unreadable anymore, as the slight warm upturn of his mouth glows behind the gift.

You're torn from the earring and focus on his face when he pulls it out of view, back to the ear he once revealed it from. Moon swiftly slips it through the piercing perfectly before pulling his hand back.

You couldn't speak, you just fell forward into his chest and weakly wrapped your arms around him. He held you in his lap for a while, your hand eventually reaching up to your left ear to confirm the earring was real. Your chest tightened, and the flood gates opened once more.

"..M-Moon.. really.. how?"

"..Mmh, well.. made a visit to Parts and Service last night.. they.. have a little industrial 3D printer."

You squeezed before unwrapping your other arm to clean up the tears trickling down and off your face, falling onto his silky pants.

"..How are you two so.. sweet.. ugh.. I.."

Your words failing you, you instead look up and stretch to his face, kissing him on the cheek. You really like his fans and cooling system quietly whirring in response to your affection. They make your poor tummy do such funny things.

You rest yourself back into his lap as he cradles you. You could stay here forever.

You wanted to.

Your Fazwatch buzzes against your wrist, and you adjust yourself slightly away from Moon to check it, resulting in a low disapproving hum from him. Looking at the cute little Sun and Moon stickers for a second, you smile and turn on the watch to read the notification.

Wendy

"Hey, it's Wendy, I'm really sorry to bother you right now ;) - buuuut if you wouldn't mind, could you go at least take a look at Monty in Parts and Service? You can of course decline, you do not have to, but any hours extra on your shift will be overtime and paid so accordingly. He is a bit banged up, and some of the other techs had to clock out. They noted extensive damage, and not just to his arm? Anyways, tomorrow being Monday, we'd really prefer him be ready to appear on stage again. You absolutely do not have to, especially given what happened last night, but if you're okay with it, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!"

Huh. Uh. Fun. She wants you to go and attempt to check up on the asshole that almost broke your wrist last night. Hm.

You thought it over for a few seconds after reading the message, you'd.. at least have more time to spend with Sun and Moon, since you're definitely bringing them with you if you're going to be around Monty again. It wouldn't hurt anyways you guess, maybe you could try to make amends? Eh, that's probably at the bottom of your list. You'll go ahead and help out Wendy. Sure. Why not.

You

ah, uh yea sure. ill be fine, ill be down there soon to take a look. im sure i can at least get him somewhat functional.

A low growl emanates from above you. You realize that Moon could read your watch at that angle. You turn off the watch and adjust yourself to look up at him, but he speaks first.

"..If you must go, we're coming with you." He looks down at you with an unmoving stern expression besides him mouthing words in coordination with his voicebox.

"Yeah, I want you to anyways. I don't wanna be around him either, but with either of you, it's tolerable at least."

You make your way onto your knees and then your feet, walking over to your bag, you pick it up making sure everything you need is in it. Your eye catches on the two Sun and Moon themed plushies, and you grab the moon one off the makeshift bed.

"..Hey.. Moon? Where'd you get these..? I kinda wanna have a pair or two." You giggle as you set them down on the table.

"Mmm, we'll get you some. Don't you worry." He gestures at one of the cardboard boxes which have a little nightcap adorned with a star on the end, poking out of the crude top covering the box halfway, You make a mental note to grab one of each next time you're here, which you're sure won't be too long.

Moon walks you over to the tube, he'll likely carry you through just like the last couple of times.

You look back to the tray, napkins and containers on top of it, otherwise empty.

"I'll clean it all up when we get back. Ready, Starlight?" He answers your question before you can offer to take it to a trashcan somewhere, somehow.

He kneels down slightly awaiting your confirmation.

You giggle. "Yeah Moony, let's go."

He scoops you up and set you down at the other end, already making his way to the balcony.

"..Mmh, unfortunately.. Sun is going to come out.. See you later, little star.."

"Stop."

Moon ceases his walk, inches away from where the light level would trigger the transformation.

You walk up next to him, pulling him down before planting a kiss on his head.

You sink back off your tippy toes and look into his white pinprick eyes. "See ya, Moony."

You hold his hand as he steps forward into the light.

You watch the transformation in awe, you have to study them more in the future. The fluffy nightcap recedes into a small compartment as rays pop out one by one. His faceplate changes hue and eyes flip over to reveal Sun's pretty blue eyes. The pants flick in an almost unregistrable flash, red and yellow striped baggy pants appearing from starry blue ones. Moon's white and blue frame fades into different shades of yellow, everything occurring in just over a second. Maybe they were magic.

Sun adjusts to being out again, before turning to you, a nervous little smile plastering his face.

"H-hey, Sunbeam!" He crouches down to make himself mildly smaller, still far taller than you while reflexively fidgeting with his hands. You watch with a grin as his eyes dart from your face to the surroundings before looking back once more to see if you're still there, to which you always are, smiling.

You walk forward, looking up to him.

"So.. Moon mentioned certain.. thoughts" You grin as his eyes widen, and his nervous little smile falters. Your heart jumps.
