(Lux - PoV)
The ride was great, way better than riding a pony, but alas, our trip comes to an end all too soon.
Bear calv are pretty awesome, no one wanted to get in our way. I'll have to suggest it to the Darius, I think he'd be willing to try. Draven would probably take it entirely the wrong way.
...
Oh gods, Mr. Tibbers! Annie must never see that.
I pat Mr. Tibbers in sympathy. Don't worry. I'll keep him well away from you. You are second best mount after all.
You can't spin like Brother, of course. I haven't yet given up my dreams on converting him into a helicopter.
Even if he boops me when I suggest it. Damn the boop.
"Umm..." Right, Annie is trying to get my attention.
"Sorry, distracted by the awesome of Mr. Tibbers," I tell her.
She smiles.
"Oh, that's ok then. He is great. Right Mr. Tibbers?" she asks the abomination.
It growls, presumably in agreement.
"You did really good today, I'm proud of you!" She praises, patting him on the head.
"You should probably go back now though, ok? We can play again later." With a whoosh, the giant murder bear turns back into a stuffed teddy.
I want that spell. Or better, the opposite version she used earlier.
...What the hells kind of death machine could I get if I used that spell on Brother?
Annie rudely interrupts my daydreaming of wrecking cities and world domination while riding on a building-sized Brother's shoulder.
"Umm, so I guess I should go home now?" she asks sadly.
"What? No. We have cookies. Come inside and gorge!" I turn to Brother. "Right Brother? Make with the cookies!" I snap my fingers at him.
He hands Annie a bulging bag and holds mine over my head.
...
I glare at him.
"What do we say?" he asks.
"GIMMIE!" I jump for the bag, unsuccessfully.
...
Maybe if I blind him?
Right. Champion. Yeah, I don't have a chance in hell.
...
I slump.
"Please?" I ask.
"There's the girl with at least some manners. I was afraid you were turning into a rabid Zaunite."
He hands me the bag.
I stick my tongue out at him.
He rolls his eyes as I grab Annie and run inside.
I might have locked the door behind me on the way in.
"Say please!" I call out to Brother as the knob rattles.
Yes I'm being petty, so what?
I'm the little sister, it's my job.
Annie is giggling, clearly she agrees.
We sit on the couch next to empty cookie bags.
Brother is snoozing in the big armchair. I would throw something at him but my head still hurts from the noogie he gave me once he got in. Damned Big Brother privileges. I'm tieing you up tonight. You won't get loose without breaking Kat's new bed and getting yelled at.
"So, we ate all the cookies," Annie says.
I nod in agreement. They were awesome.
"Do...Do I go home now?" she asks.
No. I'm keeping you. I'm calling dibs.
"Nope." I shake my head. "You're staying for a sleepover, right?"
"A sleepover?" she asks.
"Yup. You've heard of that right? When you stay at a friends house overnight? Play lots of games, have fun, stay up too late and stuff?"
"...I haven't, but it sounds great!" she answers excitedly.
Mwahaha. Now we just have to figure out what to actually do.
And let everyone know. Hrm. Well, Kat is still out on a mission of some kind so, she can't object. Brother is asleep, so he can find out whenever he wakes up. So, all good! Responsibilities done.
"Oh! Fort time!"
"Fort?"
"Yup. Kat has plenty of furniture, so we are going to build the best fort. Just need to go steal some blankets and pillows from the bedrooms, follow me."
(Garen - PoV)
Ngh.
I streeetch.
Ugh, the chair is nice for sitting but, probably not the best to sleep in.
Sitting up properly, I open my eyes.
What?
The room is covered in sheets, blankets, and pillows.
I...assume the furniture is still here, buried underneath the..everything.
There are faint sounds of giggling coming from somewhere within the maze.
Fort building it is then. Kinda sad I wasn't invited.
...
Looking towards the windows, the sun is quickly dipping below the horizon.
It appears Annie is staying the night then. I would have appreciated being told earlier, I guess, but...I also appreciate not being woken with a bucket of something to the face.
...
I need to find a mirror to check for drawings, or paint and glitter. I may have made the mistake of falling asleep near a vengeful Lux.
"You girls alright in there?" I holler.
"Yes!" "Yup!"
"I'll get started on dinner," I inform them.
"Ok!" "You may enter when you have a tribute of sustenance!"
I shake my head as I leave the room. Not even allowed in the fort without tribute.
Mirror first, then food.
Eventually I return, bearing a large platter of tribute for the newest, localist rulers.
"Alright girls, where the entrance?"
"By the bookshelf!" Lux answers.
Ah, there's the flap.
Getting down on my knees, I poke my head in.
Ok. Well, this is going to be...interesting. They did not build with my proportions in mind. Doubly so while trying to slide along a tray of food.
...
Carefully, I maneuver my way through the twists and turns. At least she didn't trap it this time. Probably for Annie's benefit.
That or because Kat and I have refused to buy her glitter after last time.
...I hate glitter.
Finally, I poke my head into the core room.
"Hello girls."
"Hi Mr. Garen." "Finally made it Brother?"
"One moment."
Drawing back, I carefully push the food in ahead of me, before following after.
In the end, I can only fit my top half in the room, but that's fine.
"So, how goes it?" I ask.
"Great!" Annie answers.
"Mgpf Mph," Lux mumbles with a full mouth.
I roll my eyes at her and take a bite for myself.
Yeah, I'm not the best cook, but I can get by, especially with Kat's ingredients. Everyone likes meat-on-a-stick.
"So what are you two up to in here?"
Everything apparently.
They show me the drawings they made, now decorating the walls. Books and comics are stacked in the corners. Nail polish, hairbrushes, and other more mysterious cosmetics lay scattered about. Clothes, toys, jewelry.
I think Lux migrated almost everything she owns, and more than a few things she doesn't, down here. This is going to be a pain to clean up.
The smiles on their faces are absolutely worth it.
We eventually finish the food, and by some miracle I choose not to question (maybe I should try thanking Morgana?) I manage to extract myself from the fort without tearing it down. I forgot how much harder it can be getting out than in.
The two inform me they will be sleeping in the fort tonight, so with Kat out, I suppose I am sleeping alone tonight. That's fine, it will be nice to be able to stretch out, and not have to worry about getting kicked, drooled on, or getting hair in my face.
I'm not that tired with my nap earlier, but I suppose I may as well turn in anyway, let the girls have their fun tonight. I let them know where to find me, and head on up.
Yes, even climbing into bed alone, I can't seem to wipe the smile from my face. It is wonderful to see Lux so happy.
