-Sebastian-

"Well if that's the way you want it, fine! You won't have to see my face ever again!"

"Kurt-" The door slammed. The silence that echoed following the declaration was deafening. Sebastian fell back onto the couch, a hand running down his own face. What the hell had just happened? He and Kurt got into a lot of arguments but never anything to this extent. He would have run after Kurt, but previous experience had taught him to let Kurt vent. Kurt would be back, if for nothing else, he'd be back for his skin care products. Ironically, it's what had started the fight in the first place. Sebastian had been complaining about how there was no room in the bathroom with all of his products everywhere.

It had snowballed into a lot larger argument, which escalated into name calling and this time they hadn't held back. Usually name calling was partially an endearment between the two of them but this time it had been vicious. The things they'd thrown at each other verbally- Sebastian shuddered in memory. It had been a fight indicative of a larger issue.

Both hadn't wanted to touch on the actual issue so the fight had gone around in circles never once touching on the real problem. Sebastian knew they'd have to sit down and talk it through like rational adults. They were both anxious and hadn't had to face something like that since they moved in together.

Whereas Kurt needed time to vent over some time with his friends, Sebastian once he was done throwing a tantrum, usually just felt drained and a lot more collected and apologetic. He'd probably pass his day and night binge watching some comedy and would wake up next to Kurt in the morning after Kurt wrangled him back to bed when he got in.

Except this time it had been a fight on a much larger scale than they normally had. Kurt was prone to slamming doors but he didn't usually leave the apartment. Sebastian felt of two minds the entire evening. He'd sent off an exploratory text a half hour later to see where Kurt was feeling emotionally. He was sent back a not very nice emoji. It made Sebastian smirk. At least Kurt was responding to him and in other situations, that emoji would have been an indicator for something very different.

Sam texted him an hour later. 'Kurt's with us. We'll send him back in the morning if he's feeling better'. Unease knotted in Sebastian's stomach, that had never been a question up for debate before. Kurt always returned in the morning.

'If you don't, I'm coming over there'. Sebastian responded back, it was a promise, not a threat or warning.

'I wouldn't expect anything else'. Sam text him back fairly quickly and Sebastian smiled. He and Kurt had a good friend and ally in Sam.

'Take care of him'. Sebastian still felt the need to send the message. He felt like he hadn't done his duty as husband if he didn't. Sebastian dropped the phone on the coffee table and rubbed his face and his eyes especially. He felt so guilty about the fight and he didn't like that Kurt had left in so much anger. The wedding ring on his finger was one solid reminder though that Kurt would come back, he'd locked Kurt down so quick and he was patting himself on the back once more for making it so official.

None of their friends would have expected Sebastian to move so quickly or be so assured in what he wanted, especially in this regard. Except it hadn't taken long, knowing Kurt, before Sebastian knew exactly what he wanted and made it happen. Kurt wanted it too but had been a bit more reluctant, unsure if they were moving too fast. He hadn't had as many relationships as Sebastian had, his community hadn't had that many gay individuals and even fewer around his age. Still, the romantic in him had won out and he'd agreed the second Sebastian had proposed and didn't push for a long engagement.

They were married by the time they were 21 and it had been a good two years of marriage, even with the numerous little growing pains and arguments. They were better for them.

Trouble was, they had been in college and had both wanted such high achieving goals. There came sacrifices with those goals and often that meant time with each other and it didn't always line up when the other also had to make that sacrifice.

Distance and commitments weren't always in the same region either. Sebastian was due for a trip out to California to meet with the director of the company he was applying for. If it all went well, he'd have a role here in New York. Kurt on the other hand had gotten an offer from the Great Isabelle Wright to be her personal assistant and it was a stepping stone for better things within the company. However, that meant that he was going with her to Tokyo next month.

They had never been away from each other for more than two days since they met. They were going to be in very different places and their trips overlapped. There was some considerable stress and tension ricocheting between the two of them. It wasn't concerns about their commitment to the relationship that had them both acting out. Far from it, they were worried with how they were going to cope being so far from each other for so long. So they'd gone the opposite of sticking together prior to the split, they were at each other's throats and spending more time apart. That wasn't helping matters.

A ping from his phone distracted him and he could practically feel Sam's offense dripping from his message. 'Always'.

Sebastian didn't respond, a smug look crossed his features. Sam really would always look out for Kurt. He was in good hands with the former QB. He'd be looking out for Kurt while he was in California too. He knew the blond was likely to move in for the time while Kurt was here alone. Perhaps a certain dark haired Latina would be too. It wouldn't surprise him if the place was run-over with former ND kids. He wasn't looking forward to what that would mean coming back, probably finding female underwear in the most unexpected places for months.

Maybe he should bring that to Kurt's attention. Not that he didn't want them there, but that Kurt wouldn't be alone. He'd always have someone at his side, and probably in his bed, while Sebastian was gone. The place would probably be empty when he got back though. That thought made Sebastian sad, for himself mainly. Not that his Dalton friends wouldn't be opposed to spending the nights at his place either as one big group or in turns. He just probably wouldn't ask that of them and while Kurt wouldn't either, the others would just come over as if it were a given. They spent a lot of time here anyway over the years without invite.

Sebastian knew one of the biggest concerns they both shared though was that significant length of time Kurt with be in Tokyo, alone. Sebastian was only going to be gone two weeks but Kurt was going to be gone a month. It would be nearly 6 weeks before they saw each other again. Kurt was going to be busy that entire time and would have Isabelle in Tokyo and a few other workmates but they wouldn't be with him the entire time. He would be surrounded by people he didn't know in a language he didn't know and a culture he hadn't fully explored before. He was doing his darnedest to learn as much as possible as he could before he went but there was still a lot of other stuff on his plate. The criticism about the skin care products was probably not at the best time. Sebastian had just been frustrated about everything too and for some reason, not being able to find a place to put his toothpaste that evening had just set him off.

Sebastian threw an arm over his face. He had really stepped in it this time. His unease though with everything had been building up. Sebastian was worried about Kurt being away from him for so long. It wasn't a criticism of where he was going, he was sure it was perfectly safe. It was just hard enough trusting that Kurt would come home to him in once piece every day while they were here in New York surrounded by friends. There were a few guys at school who always gave Kurt crap and at work there was always someone breathing down his neck.

Then recently Kurt had neatly sidestepped an altercation with a group of homophobes who had targeted him based on his style and general look. Santana thankfully had been with him and had wrapped her arm around his and looked up with an adoring expression while loudly calling him honey and talking about getting home to their toddler and babysitter.

It had been for both of their protection. Santana was sure they would have tried something with her too and she would have had to fight. They were each wearing a wedding ring and so had gotten off with only a looming threat and a scare.

Kurt mumbled in his sleep about it still. He was sometimes hard to calm down at night. Only Sebastian humming while running his fingers through Kurt's hair seemed to do the trick on especially bad nights. He wasn't sure if Kurt remembered dreaming about it. Kurt never mentioned it in the morning or made any kind of comment as if it had effected him. It had certainly affected Sebastian.

Even when Santana had told the story, Kurt had seemed detached from it. Sebastian knew his past was rife with difficulties but this was something most people would have been alarmed by. Santana too had been startled by what could have happened and called over once in awhile to make sure they were both safe when she woke up in a nightmare. She confided in Sebastian one night when she was over and it got too late for her and Brittany to leave that she worried about Kurt's lack of concern. She had known Kurt probably the longest of their friend group, short of his step-brother, but she was never privy to his life back home or growing up.

They knew Finn was protective and the family unit was great. They hadn't brought forward any friends from their childhood except Puck who visited on occasion. Puck was always careful around Kurt. He didn't make any sudden moves or talked too loudly when he brayed and carried on with just Finn incredibly loudly when Kurt wasn't around. He made sure to compliment Kurt whenever Kurt did something and thanked him and looked proud of Kurt whenever there was something to be proud of. He had cried at the wedding and hadn't felt even an iota of shame nor tried to cover it up.

Kurt wasn't... uneasy around Puck but there was definitely a history there that neither were willing to share.

Yet, Kurt was his light. He was upbeat and sometimes bubbly and talked and was passionate and courageous and sweet and sassy and sarcastic and snarky and smart and sometimes serious and so many more things all the time and all at once. He was just joy.

The binge watching wasn't cutting it for him today. He flicked through so many shows and movies, trying to settle on something. Nothing could distract him though, and he just gave up eventually. He took himself back to their bedroom and changed and settled in. He bit his lip, going against the grain for a change and sent a text to Kurt. 'I miss you. I love you. I'm sorry'.

He wasn't expecting a response. Kurt when angry took some time to cool down and often they took his phone away so he didn't do anything he later regretted. He wasn't often angry though. 'I love and miss you too'. Life couldn't be all that bad and prospects were looking up if Kurt could text him that, even while angry. Maybe Sebastian should have tried reaching out every time. He would certainly keep this as a reminder the next time they fought. There was definitely going to be a next time, he knew it was a given and wasn't concerned about it.

He settled into to bed, knowing that all was going to be ok and right with the world come morning. He was out like a light.

When his phone lit up, insistently, nearly blinding him the dark several hours later, he couldn't help but see it. When he pulled open the messages, his world came crashing down on him.

-Kurt-

As soon as he was outside in the bitter cold, Kurt felt guilty. He nearly turned around and went back upstairs and talked to Sebastian some more.

But it hadn't been talking they were doing. He had been shouting, something he didn't normally do no matter how ridiculously rude and out of turn their comments got with each other. He wasn't a yeller, he wasn't a screamer but those were both things that he was doing. He wasn't a violent person or threw things but if he went back into the fray right then, he probably would have broken those traits too.

He was angry all over again and so he stomped away. He didn't know for sure where he was going to go, but he always ended up at the same place. He waited patiently for one half of Blam to open the door. It was a terribly stupid knock off of Wham but who was he to judge? They had been best friends from the moment they met and they became best friends over their shared love of Wham. It was kismet and they had since started up a tribute band and they didn't care one bit that they weren't finding a lot of traction for their sound and style. Only so many establishments would accept so much neon in so many colors at one time.

Thankfully the one he was most hoping to see was the one who opened the door and he entered the instantly open arms of one Samuel Evans. Sam folded him in as Kurt rested his cheek to his chiseled chest. No straight boy had a right to be so attractive and spend so much time on their body and hair, yet Sam was both. Though some might find him a little dopey looking with that hair falling into his eyes and the big wide lips. Santana had certainly had a lot to say when they'd met for the first time. In fact, Puck did too.

"Is your roommate home?" Kurt asked when he finally pulled out of Sam's embrace. He looked around but the hyperactive puppy of a man was nowhere to be seen or heard for that matter.

"He went out to get some ice cream when I told him you were coming over." Sam laughed and guided Kurt in. Kurt had basically made this his second home and was comfortable doing whatever, but Sam still had manners.

"It's not going to be one of those nights." Kurt was determined not to fall into that old pitfall. Blaine usually went off into a tangent in all the reasons Sebastian sucked as a human being. Sometimes when Kurt was spiteful he'd throw some yeahs in there but generally when Blaine did that, it made Kurt mad but at an entirely new person. He and Blaine would have some epic rows as Kurt defended Sebastian and made him miss him all the more. He'd begun to think that Blaine did it for just that reason. Usually it was a night spent cussing Blaine out for daring to talk about Sebastian that way that motivated Kurt to go home to him so incredibly early in the morning. He'd hardly get any sleep and leave just before dawn and move his cumbersome husband into the bedroom and would sleep most of the morning away with him.

To be fair, Blaine was the chief reason that Kurt had met Sebastian. They'd been high school classmates and then started Freshman year off together before Blaine decided to transfer schools sophomore year. He introduced his friends to Sam's friends and they just all became friends even though they went to rival schools.

It's when Blaine met Kurt for the first time too. Kurt and Sam had been roommates Freshman year. Kurt had moved out of dorm living due to all of his different work commitments and school and places his school ended up sending him around the city. It ended up being cheaper living in an apartment with his brother, his brother's girlfriend at the time and one of her high school friends (Santana) who also went to school with them now. Sam loved the lifestyle of on campus housing and so got Blaine as his newest roommate. They hadn't a chance to intersect prior to the merging of schools meeting.

Blaine had helped him with carrying the drinks over from the bar and Kurt had looked up after setting his drinks on the table. Blaine was putting his down too and was saying something but the world had faded out and focused in on one singular point when Kurt caught sight of Sebastian. Sebastian's eyes were locked onto his own as he strolled casually over to Kurt and Blaine. His walk was entirely too sexy to be real and it had been effortless. He hadn't been in a hurry to get to their side, he knew he had already captured Kurt's attention and so could draw it out.

"Sebastian." Blaine said coolly when he caught sight of the newest arrival too. The name pulled Kurt's attention to the fact that someone was next to him and talking. He heard but didn't really take in the rest of it. "Hi, we didn't grab you a drink because we weren't sure if you were coming. You'll have to go get your own." It hadn't been magnanimous nor the Blaine that Kurt had gotten to know. It had been a bit defensive and rude and very off-putting. Why invite him if you were just going to treat him that way? Kurt very nearly turned and scolded Blaine for his behavior.

Sebastian had just rolled with it. "It is not a problem. Would you like to join me at the bar to help me make my decision?" He held out a hand and a cocky grin and Kurt took it. Blaine was protesting something, mainly that Kurt already had a drink.

"Someone else can have it. I think I've changed my mind about what I'm in the mood for tonight." Kurt walked with Sebastian to the bar, nearly attached at the hip from the beginning and that hadn't changed in the three years they'd known each other. They'd had a good laugh later that night while they were nearly on each other's laps in one of the couches. They were discussing the fake IDs and the names and pictures they'd been given. The two of them had been given the opposite of what they should have and they swapped them then.

They ended up swapping quite a few things that night.

Sebastian would always tell you that he had to do quite a bit of convincing to get Kurt to put a ring on it. That wasn't the case. Kurt had just worried about the timing of it all. He'd known their lives were busy already and anytime you started a career there was just so much to learn and do. Their chosen careers had steep learning curves. As Sebastian had rightly pointed out, their chosen careers, their lives would never be anything but busy. Why lose out on any of the time they did have?

So they'd gotten hitched 6 months later. They'd both still been in school and his dad had been worried. He had since admitted that his concern was invalid but Kurt had never blamed him. If one of them had been a girl, he might have wondered if she was pregnant. It had been fast.

In fact, that's why Finn ended up getting married about 2 months ago. They were deliriously happy but it had definitely been a shotgun wedding. Time would tell if a child was enough of a reason to get married.

Kurt sometimes wondered if they'd had enough of a reason to get married. Everyone had told him he was crazy. Sebastian was not the type to settle down. Kurt was too young. They were both too young. They hadn't lived life enough, hadn't had enough boyfriends. What if they fell out of lust? Had no way of being able to live with someone long term, never had experienced it before and wouldn't be able to cope. Should try living with him first. That one was rich, coming from an only child who'd always lived alone and barely spent time with their own family growing up.

Kurt had squashed all the naysayers on his half and Sebastian on his. Their relationship would be what they made of it. Whenever they had these arguments or this horrible row, people would ask again or try to tell him they told him so. He'd never let them know that he feared- but it wouldn't last very long. He'd corral and all would be fine again. Many people worried, wondered, but he'd always weigh it against not being married and that fear would disappear.

Sebastian's first text reaching out was met with a middle finger emoji and a desire to just go out. However, even as he was fixing his hair without any of his products or his own clothes, he realized he'd way overstepped in his anger and subsequent reaction. Here he was, able to get ready for a night out with the others and he didn't have anything with him. He definitely didn't need all those products.

So when Sebastian sent him another text later that night, he responded a lot more kindly. He knew he would have to make amends, apologize hard. There was never any question about him going back. However, he had already agreed and planned to go out tonight. It was originally to help take his mind off the fight and help him calm and settle down, but he didn't need that anymore. Still, he was determined to have fun with the others. It wasn't often they got to do this and he'd be gone for a month soon enough.

It became more of a fun night out with friends without his husband or brother and his very pregnant wife. There were a few others they could have invited, but kept it to the core minimum. He may have rather had done without Blaine but he was Sam's roommate and didn't say a word about him tagging along.

Without Sebastian's oversight, it seemed his friends were more inclined to press any number of fruity cocktails into his hand. At one point he found one in each and a half drank one on the table in front of him. Blaine kept close to his side most of the night, but he seemed to do that no matter where they were or who they were with.

"Ugh, you have got to help me drink these." Kurt tried to pawn at least the half drank one onto Blaine. "What are they thinking?"

"No can do, I have been drinking beer all night." Blaine teasingly pushed the drink back toward Kurt. "Drink up."

"At this rate, I'm going to pee the rainbow." Kurt groaned but dutifully ook a sip of the one he liked the best of the three.

"Then that's perfectly suiting you." Santana teased even though she was part of the rainbow alliance as well. Dani had her arm slung around Santana's waist but she was looking at Kurt a little skeptically. He was already swaying on his feet.

"I think that's going to be puke the rainbow if you keep pushing him." Dani said in an aside to Santana and somehow Kurt heard her.

"Nope, no way, I don't throw up." Kurt made a face. "That's gross."

Dani's lips tilted, taking that challenge in stride without letting him know it. He shouldn't have said it and he knew he shouldn't have, but he was too drunk to put that logic together from his brain to his mouth and back again. He didn't even realize he said it out loud.

Sam was having fun dancing in the middle of the club. It was a gay club but he admitted he preferred those better to straight ones when he was in the mood to dance, which was nearly always.

It was only after he finished one drink that Sam reached out to them and grabbed Kurt's hand, pulling him into the dance floor with him. Kurt didn't mind as Sam gyrated against him. It meant absolutely nothing when it came from the blond except that he wanted to have a good time without having to fend off seeking hands. It also gave Kurt the cover he needed in return since he was also not looking. It the strangers on the dance floor thought that Kurt and Sam were a couple, then more power to it.

It left Blaine open to dancing on his own and seeing as he was the only single gay amongst them, it was what they'd intended. If it got too much for him, he was always welcome into the fold. Santana and Dani danced not too far away. They'd be there in an instant if they were needed but far enough away not to be crowding or to make it look like such a big group dance.

It was a fun night, until someone got a little too handsy with Blaine. He tolerated it for a moment and then shifted away. They followed and Blaine gave him clear clues to back off. They missed them. So Blaine slid in between Kurt and Sam and his smaller form was clearly protected by the slightly taller guys. Since Sam and Kurt instantly just moved with him, the guy finally got the message and moved away and onto other options.

Santana and Dani had been dancing dirty and were totally in each other's space. Blaine's actions caught their attention but they saw that it was handled so they didn't offer their support. Blaine shifted from them and didn't go too far this time.

Someone incredibly drunk sagged against Blaine, intending to be sexy but just ended up pushing him into the next person and rubbing his hips against Blaine's backside, kind of ruined the mood for everyone. They decided it was time to leave, they'd been there for several hours and Kurt was sufficiently drunk. He was giggling and hiccuping so much that they decided to just give both Kurt and Blaine a break.

They headed outside into the brighter lit streets to order an uber home that would fit all of them. Kurt was leaning heavily against Sam who had both arms wrapped around Kurt and his less than appropriately dressed form for this time of year. He'd stomped out of his apartment with Sebastian without his winter coat, just a few layers that he wore inside. It hadn't been so bad when they headed out but the sun was long gone and it was far colder. They hadn't thought about that when they'd left for the club or left the club to come outside.

Santana and Dani snuggled in close, to offer him more warmth and to also receive it. Blaine stepped in close too. Dani's startled sound and small jump was met with them all looking her way. A passing frat douche had felt up her behind.

"Asshole, try that again!" Santana yelled at him before anyone could stop her.

The guy turned back with his buddies and he slid his eyes over the both of them appreciatively. He spared only a momentary glance at Sam, not thinking the other two men worth his concern. "Why don't the two of you come with us. We can show you a much better time than these fags."

"You're barking up the wrong tree there, gumbo." The guy was tall and lanky and only moderately attractive. "They have far more on you."

"Maybe the blond." He glanced again at Sam. "But I make it up in other ways."

"Just apologize man and go away." Sam said tiredly, tightening his hold on Kurt who was starting to bristle at the way the guy was looking at his girls.

"Nah... I wanted to show them a good time. Maybe they need a demonstration." The other guys were laughing and as a group they stepped forward. It was the wrong thing to do as Santana launched herself at one who had gotten within arm's reach of them.

An all-out brawl commensed between the two groups. Santana scratched and clawed and hit and kicked whoever she could get a hold of. Her arms latching around one of the boy's neck and trying to put him into the sleeper hold one of the female wrestlers at school had taught her. Dani used a lot of elbows and knees with whoever got close, her hand curling into whatever hair existed and pulled, hard.

Sam tried to push Kurt behind him, but Kurt was already begging to get involved with the fight as soon as he knew it was on. His movements were somewhat a mix between Santana and Dani's. Claws were out, knees on display. He got one really good swipe across the main perpetrator's face, blood leaking from the three marks he made there in defense of Blaine.

The guy had gotten Blaine pressed face down against the ground, one of his arms twisted behind his back painfully. Kurt had jumped on his back and started pulling his hair. He'd knocked Kurt off of him and whirled to put Kurt in his place when Kurt's hand had snaked out. The guy covered his face with both hands and curled in on himself, the fight gone out of him for a moment as he cried. Then he had blood literally and figuratively in his eyes as he went after Kurt.

He intended to knock Kurt onto his back and strangle him, his hands out and aiming for his neck when Kurt kneed him in the gut. The guy went down and attempted to sweep a leg but Sam put a foot onto the guy's back and held him down.

Sam and Kurt shared a look before one of the other guys realized that they'd pinned their leader. Blaine pushed to his feet and pushed at the guy trying to attack Sam and he managed to get him back but while a third went for Kurt, the second's arm reared back and his elbow hit Kurt in the face.

Kurt spared it not a moment's notice but Sam was grabbing him and pulling him behind him once more. Kurt was spitting fire and blood and trying to get back into the fray.

They heard the telltale beeps of the police and some lights and all froze, knowing what that meant. Number three pushed Sam off of his buddy and the group fled. The cops exited the car and walked up to those remaining, clearly not impressed with the rag-tag team.

"Get in." The driver said hitching his thumb toward the police car. Another car pulled up behind theirs and the five of them begrudgingly headed towards the cars without a fuss. They weren't even handcuffed or pushed into the vehicles. The partner on the passenger side of each just held the door open for them.

Kurt ended up with Santana and Dani in one squad car and Sam and Blaine in the other. All phones were out instantly except Kurt's. He just crossed his arms over his chest and scowled, refusing to contact any of the people on his list that weren't currently present. He did not want to hear it from any of them.

He woke to Santana shaking him slightly and he wondered how his head ended up on Dani's shoulder or how his eyes had closed or how he was now in front of the police building, being ordered out of the car. Vaguely he remembered what led up to it, but he thought it was all a drunken hallucination or dream. He was not looking forward to living through this next very vivid reality.

Their phones and all other personal items were taken at the door and they were patted down. They were seated along the wall and now they were handcuffed to one of the arm rests with the other free and open. Kurt found his forehead resting against Sam's shoulder now and his eyes closed on their own accord. He probably should be feeling pretty upset and anxious but the room was spinning and he couldn't seem to bring himself to care. He had a vague thought as he slipped back under the alcohol influenced sleep that Sebastian was going to be so mad.

-Sebastian-

It didn't take Sebastian long to find the group. They were sitting along a wall just inside the precinct's main waiting room. They were each handcuffed to the chair they were sitting on and they had to be buzzed out to leave. There was no way they were leaving on their own. Kurt was missing and Sebastian's panic only grew. "Where is he? Where's Kurt?"

"Chill man, he's talking with the officer. We've all already given our side. He's the last of us." Dani shrugged off his concern and Sebastian nearly hit his first female but held back because he didn't want to be seated next to them for battery.

"What happened- is Kurt all right?" He didn't think any of them would still be sitting here if their injuries were worse than first appearance, right?

Sam tried to lift his hands in a calming gesture but he was hindered by his cuff. By the appearance of his fingertips, he'd been processed. They'd probably have all been processed. "Kurt's ok." Sam held Sebastian's gaze. "A little battered but nothing serious. We got into a little altercation."

"Kurt was fantastic!" Santana suddenly shouted, inexorability pleased. Her cheer was the last straw for Sebastian who was already pulled so tightly wound from worry and lack of sleep.

"You can't start with Kurt's at the police station!" Sebastian roared.

"Why not? It's the truth." Santana leered back at him instantly mutinous. Sebastian wasn't sure if it gained or lost some of it's intention when one eye was swollen shut and was already black. She had some other cuts and bruises on her face and neck."We're at the police station."

Some of his ire shifted from her to the others. They were all somewhat beaten up but she seemed to be fairing the worst from the outside. "You were supposed to protect and care for him." Sebastian tossed at Sam who was grinning stupidly.

"Oh, this time he was the one who protected." Sam answered proudly and clasped a hand onto Blaine's shoulder. Blaine was cradling his arm to his chest and seemed far more mellow than Sebastian had ever seen him. He narrowed his eyes at his old friend.

"What did you do?"

Blaine yelped. "I didn't do anything wrong!"

"Uh-huh." Sebastian responded unimpressed by the over done protest. His eyes landed on Sam again. "Why am I at the police station?"

"Before we bailed ourselves out, we were hoping you'd work your magic." Dani answered a bit cheekily.

"Kurt is really ok?" Sebastian asked with a bit of suspicion in his eyes.

"He's fine." Sam promised. "We didn't let him get into the heart of it, but damn, Bas, you should have seen him." Sam was so proud and pleased at the same time. "I don't think you need to worry so much about him."

"Ok, what are the charges?" Sebastian asked with a long put upon sigh. They all spoke at once and he took down what they had to say. He went up to the officer and talked with him at length and found out what they were charging Kurt with to help with those as well.

In the end because the other guys started it and ran, they only had to pay damages. Sebastian whipped out his wallet and paid it all. They were uncuffed and until Kurt came, he wouldn't let any of them leave. With a long-suffering breath in and out, he started lecturing them at length for what they did and why it was stupid and what they should have done instead. "Ok, ok, dad, we get it." Dani held up her hands and huffed in annoyance. "Thanks for paying for everything though."

"They're taking a really long time with Kurt, don't you think?" Blaine questioned, shifting from side to side with anxiety. He was still holding his arm carefully.

"What's up with the arm?" Sebastian finally asked, trying not to think about that exact same thing himself. "Do you need to go to the hospital?"

"No, they looked at it when they police came. They brought a medical personnel too. It's just a little sore from when the guy held me down in a lock." Blaine admitted and Sebastian wondered exactly what happened. One of these days they were all going to share this story. Looking at their smug faces, he'd probably be hearing about it a lot whenever they got together for the next 20 years.

"I'm glad you're not seriously hurt." Sebastian said honestly and Blaine perked up a little.

Finally, Kurt came out of the room with the officer and the officer was eyeing Kurt wearily. It took a moment to figure out why as Kurt quickly darted for the nearest trashcan and threw up in it.

"Yeah, he may be a little drunk." Sam admitted bashfully and Sebastian sent him a side-eyed glare even as he was stepping forward and taking off his coat.

Kurt was still throwing up as Sebastian approached him. The officer was looking at the discharge officer. "I don't know if we should be releasing them yet. They're kind of a bit too drunk-." The man was cut off as Sebastian neared.

"I've got him." Sebastian said softly but firmly and the man eyed him wearily now. "I've got all of them." He clarified and reached out a hand to rub soothingly along Kurt's back.

"Sober?" The man asked.

"100%." Sebastian agreed.

"Ok, I'd rather not be cleaning up their vomit." He waved them away. Once Kurt ceased throwing up for a minute and steadied himself on the trashcan, looking at it as if it was the problem, he finally straightened up when he felt like he wasn't going to do a repeat.

He turned from the trash can with a put-upon glare and didn't even flinch when he saw a chest in front of him. Slowly he lifted his head when he realized the chest wasn't going to move out of his way and he wanted to know what the big deal was.

Sebastian started to wrap his coat around Kurt, taking in how he was doing from the wing-tipped shoes and up the pant legs and central part of his body and shoulders and top of his head. He didn't look injured and the annoyance stamped on his face was kind of amusing. When his head lifted though, his eyes took a second to adjust and then a stupid grin crossed his features when he figured out it was Sebastian in front of him. "You're here!"

It was nice to see that Kurt was so happy to see him but he was making a sound and lifting a hand to touch Kurt's cheek carefully. There was a bruise forming but it didn't look too bad. He didn't seem to get the brunt of it, like Sam said.

He tugged the coat around Kurt's body and zipped him up, arms locked by his sides. "And you're drunk." Sebastian teased, it was kind of a rarity to see. The others didn't seem nearly as drunk as Kurt. He didn't know if it was because of their tolerance or if they were just feeding him alcohol all night with this purpose in mind (possibly not the throwing up part). He would get to the bottom of that later, right now his first priority was getting Kurt home.

"I'll never worry about my face again." Kurt promised and Sebastian jumped a little at the reminder of their fight and the bruise forming on said face.

"Don't worry about it." Sebastian wanted to press a kiss to his forehead but there were too many people watching. "Let's go home." Finn would have a lot to say when he found out. Sometimes Sebastian wasn't sure who was more of Kurt's father – Burt or Finn.

He wrapped an arm around Kurt's shoulders and shooed the remaining children out of the precinct. They opened the door for them and everybody filed out dutifully. They didn't say anything more nor dared to look at Sebastian again.

They all headed for the subway since there was no way of getting a cab big enough for all of them at this hour without advanced notice. They all headed for the same platform and Sebastian lifted a brow, did they not realize where they were? There were some options and they knew their way home better than he did but when all of them missed their stops along the way with no further action than to back track, he lifted his brow and called them out on it.

"We started the night with Kurt, we're going to finish it with Kurt." Santana said guilelessly.

Sebastian knew better than to argue with them when they set their mind to something. He just huddled Kurt closer into his embrace and rested his chin on Kurt's head. His eyes closed halfway between the routine of the ride and the lack of sleep and relaxation of his worry. Holding Kurt close like this was always going to relax him too and with the others in the car with them, he didn't have to concern himself as much about strangers' reactions.

They all piled into the living room but Sebastian helped Kurt with the remnants of being sick, changed him and slid into their bed together. At one point during the early morning hours, he thought he dreamed that Kurt left the bed. He was back shortly after, so Sebastian didn't go track him down to make sure he wasn't sick again.

When Sebastian woke again, Kurt was snuggled up to his side and looking entirely too peaceful to disturb. So with a press of lips against his forehead, Sebastian headed to the bathroom before planning to make their guests and them breakfast. When he got into the bathroom though, he was greeted with a lot of empty shelf space and a sticky note on the frame of the mirror. 'You were right, there's too much stuff clogging up the space. I've fixed that now. Love you.'

Sebastian didn't know why but something about what Kurt had done over the night had really touched him. He knew no matter what happened in their future, everything was going to be all right.
