Chapter 1: Romance Dawn
Saga: Beginning Adventure
A child was sprinting away holding a few loafs of bread as a couple of men chased after him. Zigzagging around the piles of garbage and trash littered around. "Get back here you brat!"
The child wasn't listening as he increased his sprint. Suddenly he tossed it in the air as one of the men grunted,
"Finally, took you long enough to give it back, but it'll take more than that to repay us for that stolen bread."
But another child leaped from the piles of trash and caught it.
"Good going Alex! I'll take it from here!"
As soon as he said that he dashed away into the forests as the child followed suit. They knew the jungle there better than anyone and learned all the twists and turns there after living in that forest for years. After climbing up a large tree where the pursuing men couldn't see them and waited them out they immediately burst out it uproariously laughter.
Alex couldn't stop laughing,
"Serves those old as*holes right! They took food from others but they didn't expect the same to happen to them?! Hahahaha."
Ace grinned and said "Sabo should be here any minute now with the stolen cash from their hideout. They should have left someone to guard it while they were out chasing us huh?".
Ace says, "I wonder how much money he'll get?"
Alex simply smiled, "It doesn't matter how much it'll all go into our pirate fund until we're older."
Alex's full name was Alexander D. Great. He was raised in the Grey Terminal, a smoky pile of discarded junk. Any garbage in the Goa Kingdom (where they live) ends up there. From trash to food to even unwanted children. This is a place where rogues who were shunned live. This is the place they call home.
Alex lived here his whole life scavenging off of others and survived here. He knows the inside outs of the place and is quite known as a thief that nobody really trusts. He and Ace, a lonely boy that has a lot of things in common with him got along and became good friends. One day, they met Sabo who was struggling in the Grey Terminal and helped him out, they were suspicious of his lack of survival skills considering he was in the Grey Terminal but ignored it and went on to be good friends. They all decided they'd go out to sea and achieve their dreams.
Ace frowned, "Lately, the amount of money we've been getting has been decreasing, we should try some new cash cows now that the older ones have gone broke"
Alex nodded and looked to the side and waved, "Sabo, you're back!"
Sabo smiling ear to ear with a large bag of cash boisterously laughed, "I robbed them clean not even leaving a penny on the floor, by the way where's Luffy?"
Alex looked at Ace as his smile turned upside down. Ace says, "Don't look at me like that I'm not his babysitter. But where could he have gone?"
A rubbery child went up behind Ace and yelled "Boo." Ace spooked immediately screamed as everyone laughed at him, "Hahahahaha, you got fooled by the oldest trick in the book!"
Ace pissed off immediately yelled, "Luffy!" As he immediately started beating him up. Alex and Sabo start walking to Dadan's house.
Luffy pushes him off with great effort and looks at Alex, "Can I join your robberies?"
Alex looks at Luffy deadpan and says, "We're not robbing, we're confiscating. We stole from robbers who stole from good people. So we are just putting the money in good hands."
Sabo and Ace both looked at Alex with an exasperated expression, sighing at his shamelessness while Luffy was looking at him like a hero.A voice is heard behind them, "How interesting, I didn't think you guys would be thiefs!"
As a fist came down on their heads. They all winced and Luffy and Ace yelled, "It's grandpa." Alex and Sabo were already running away not wanting to get their asses whooped.
But Garp appears with the fist of love and smashes them. "I didn't raise you guys to be looters, what's the old hag teaching you?!"
Luffy exclaims, "We are going to be pirates!" Obviously not reading the room. Garp yells, "No! Your going to be a marine if you don't want to... I'll discipline you..." While cracking his knuckles.
A short ass whooping later...
All four of them got beaten up. With Alex obviously afraid he yells, "Why do I have to get beaten up? I'm not your grandson."
Garp raises his eyebrow, "If you're colluding with them then obviously I have to beat you up!" Speechless at Garp's logiche declares, "I, Alexander D. Great will not lose to you. Wait until I grow up and I'll beat your ass!"
Garp immediately becomes serious screams, "What's your name?!" Alex confused repeats it and Garp goes into deep thought. Suddenly reminded Alex says, "Oh right, the last time you visited I asked if I could practice your martial arts. Can I now?"
Garp is broken out of his thoughts and reaches out of his pocket and tosses him a book. "This is Rokushiki a superhuman martial arts that the marines specialize in. Be careful while practicing these as these are incredibly dangerous techniques." Alex drags in Sabo, Ace, Luffyand goes inside to see Dadan already made them food.
Many months later...
"GOMU GOMU NO PISTOL" Luffy attacks with a fist as Alex immediately side steps and hits him with a kick to the stomach. Not giving him chance to breathe he immediately punches him in the face and grabs his rubber arms and ties him to himself.
Alex exclaims, "I win!" Luffy begging for another time but he reminds him it's time to get lunch. "I'm in the mood for roasted fish, who's with me!"
After they had lunch Sabo leaves and comes back with a bottle of sake. "It's said that those who drink sake together are bonded as brothers for a lifetime! Let's do it!" Ace clearly excited says, "Yeah, I've known you guys for a long time and i thinks it's time we finally declared ourselves brothers!"
Alex held a cup and spoke, "Drinking this sake cup means we're brothers who go through thick or thin.We will all go to sea one day and see the wonders of the world but remember this; your brothers are always there for you!" They all held their cup shouted, "From today onwards we are brothers."
Ace exclaims, "Let's say our dreams, I'll be the most famous pirate and prove my existence."
Sabo declares, "I'll make a memoir of my journeys in the great sea!"
Luffy yells, "I'll be the king of pirates."
Alex proclaims, "I'll attain true freedom, not tied by anything and live the life I want to live!"
