An intense light rose and penetrated the dark clouds in the sky. The sparks clashed around the glowing pillar as it illuminated the devastated city. As the radiance slowly faded away, it revealed a figure floating in the air. The strong force radiating from this person alerted the wicked Kai, who observed the situation with clenched teeth. After several seconds, the bright light completely shrunk and revealed a reborn warrior.
The man wore a blue gi which was above an orange shirt. He had grey gloves that matched the color of the boots. There was a slight smirk on his face as the flame-like hair danced in the wind. He lifted a hand and gently knocked an earring that was attached to his left ear.
It was real; after so much time, he was reborn. He could feel the intense and wild power surge through his body. It was like never before. This strength just couldn't be compared to that time, when he was first born and fought the creature known as Majin Buu.
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. The memories of the Saiyan warriors flashed through his mind. He could see how they managed their lives ever since separation. Both changed, but especially the proud prince. A warm smile appeared on his face as he went through the memories of the royal warrior. He did the same with the memories of the earth-raised hero and couldn't but let out a soft giggle. However, as he peered deeper into their memories, something caught his attention. It was a silhouette of a deity.
The man closed his right hand into a tight fist, feeling the burning sensation of excitement and wonder. He could see and feel how his creators struggled to keep up with the deity. Each day, they worked hard. All that struggle, the new harsh methods of training, and hardship gave birth to this tremendous power. The power he could feel within him. It made him wonder, what if he fought this God of Destruction?
However, he would think about that later because he had somebody to defeat. He opened his eyes and shifted the black orbs to the corrupted Kai. The warrior frowned as he observed the fallen deity, corrupted by twisted ambition. The face of his enemy gave away many emotions, primarily confusion and disgust towards anyone but himself. He released a chuckle, ready to teach the Kai some proper manners.
He cracked his knuckles and moved around his head to warm up a bit. After that, he started to move forward. As he approached the disturbed Kai, he glanced behind. Behind an old ruined house stood the only remaining people in this once beautiful world. He could feel their stress and how much they struggled up until this point. They put all their trust into him, and they were correct to do so. He would defeat this evil bastard and avenge the death of the boy's mother.
However, something was bothering him. It was a thing the old Supreme Kai from the 10th Universe said before his creators fused. It bothered him so much that he accidentally released some of his power, completely unaware.
The blue bolts clashed against the golden sparks as he approached the evil fusion. A strong shockwave ravaged the ground and caused the unstable buildings to fall. This little display of power didn't go unnoticed by Zamasu, who seemed very unstable. The former Kai, in training, lifted a hand and aimed at him.
"You disgusting mortals don't know when to stop! Your disobedience and disrespect towards us, me, a one and true God, is enough! I will punish you by erasing you and every other mortal in this and any other universe!"
A giant ball of energy quickly formed above Zamasu's palm. The white-haired deity yelled as it fired the mighty ki blast towards the reborn warrior. An egoistic smirk surfaced on Kai's smooth face, but the Saiyan caught the orb and crushed it, much to his dismay.
While the orange bits of energy continued to fall, Zamasu's surprised expression twisted into a scowl. "To see filthy barbarians use sacred tools of the gods... it makes me sick! How dare you, two puny mortals, use the Potara earrings and create this!? I'll..." He got interrupted as a tiny blast grazed his left cheek.
A chuckle escaped from the Saiyan's mouth while he held his right arm extended. "Your voice is an offense to my ears. You talk too much, so shut up for a second, will you?" His voice was calm, but he could barely hold the laughter when he saw the angry expression on the guy's face.
"By the way, the name's Vegito, and you better remember it Zamasu because I'll be your downfall!"
He could see a hint of fear and hesitation in Zamasu's body, which was something that brought back the arrogant grin. "So, mister god... are you ready for your demise?" Asked Vegito as he ran his fingers through the thick hair and returned the gaze.
That was it, he could see Zamasu snapping at any second, and the Kai did just that. "Die, you insolent mortal!" The fallen deity was about to fire another attack. However, he didn't allow it.
Before Zamasu could do that, Vegito moved faster and cut off Kai's deformed arm with a ki blast. While he scoffed at the fusion's agonizing expression, he knew Zamasu would regenerate. He wasted no time and vanished while the guy was distracted.
"Ah, I will not let this slide! I'm..."
A strong backhand slammed into Zamasu's cheek and sent him crashing into the building. As the concrete fell on top of the deity, the Saiyan landed and crossed his muscular arms. He knew this did nothing to his enemy but added more fuel to the fire, and he loved it. As he waited for Zamasu to get up, he began to whistle.
The whistling noise irritated the evil God. Zamasu unleashed his ki and vaporized the entire building. "Oh, you're still conscious? I figured you would be out cold because, quite frankly... you aren't strong at all. Quite disappointing." His entire body quivered with fury.
Provoking Zamasu was so fun, and he couldn't get enough of it. However, he couldn't waste all his time on it. Unlike in his battle with Majin Buu, he was now aware of the time limit. He dreaded to think of the one-hour mark, and the last thing he wanted was to burn out the time before he got rid of Zamasu.
He could take him on in his base form; he was sure of it. But the constant reminder of how many people this bastard killed drove him mad, especially when it came to the boy's mother and everyone dear to his creators. Even though he was his person, he cared about everyone. The more he thought about them and went deeper into the memories, the less control he had over his emotion.
The reborn warrior tensed his teeth and tried to focus. He thought of other, much essential things at hand. His only objective was to rid the universe of the menace in front of him. And he would do it before the time runs out. So, he took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and shortly after exhaled.
As he reopened his eyes, he saw Zamasu right in front of him with that deformed arm ready to strike. He took a step to the side and dodged the fist. From his current position, he crashed the knee in corrupted Kai's gut. While the enemy gasped for air, Vegito moved back two steps so he could smite Zamasu in the face with a fist.
The force behind the punch lifted Zamasu's body in the air. Vegito caught the deity's large arm and spun around. After a while, he let go and flung the wicked fusion high in the sky. Acting fast, he went after the spinning Kai.
Just as he was about to close the distance, he noticed Zamasu recovered from that. He halted as the enemy fired a barrage of large ki blasts at him. He dodged and deflected most of them, but Kai materialized behind him. The corrupted deity slammed the deformed and massive arm into his back, causing him to fly to the ground.
He recovered quickly from that, but he could sense danger approaching. Zamasu didn't give up and once again tried to hit him with ki blasts. The foul deity didn't care about anything else but to kill him, but he wouldn't give him such satisfaction.
Vegito twirled and flew around the ruined city as Zamasu continued the bombardment. "Humph, he's quite good at tracking my ki; I'll give him that. Now, how to end this before he destroys the entire planet..." He put a hand under his chin and pondered about it for a few seconds.
He placed both hands on the sides and summoned his energy. As the orbs formed in his hands, Vegito soared high in the sky. He could see that Zamasu was well aware of his movements, but that didn't bother him. The Saiyan flew right into the wall of smoke and continued to move forward, although ki attacks followed him.
A drop of sweat appeared on Zamasu's face as he kept doing this for quite some time already. "Ugh, just die already, you insolent mortal!" His angry shriek rang across the dark sky as he placed both hands together and fired one big ki blast.
Just at that time, Vegito emerged from the smoke. To his delight, Zamasu grinned, thinking this was it. "Yes, begone from this world!" A vile aura surrounded him as he added more force to his attack, but it didn't go as planned.
Mere seconds before his enemy fired the attack; golden sparks appeared around Vegito. With a ferocious roar, a golden, bright light engulfed the Saiyan. While bathed in a golden glow, he put both hands forward and merged the orbs. Zamasu already fired the attack, but he didn't mind. He unleashed his blast, which caused a loud sound upon releasing it.
Zamasu's eyes were wide open when he saw Vegitto's blast probe through his. It was ridiculous and difficult to believe, but he had no time for that. The massive attack traveled fast. He had no time to dodge it. Frustrated, the deity screamed as he placed both hands forward. He caught the blast and struggled to keep it from devouring him. After a few seconds, he lifted the arms and propelled the dangerous energy toward the sky.
"How dare you do..."
Abruptly, Zamasu stopped himself. Something was off; his instincts told him so. Acting on it, he quickly looked down, only to see a bright pillar of yellow light consume his entire being.

A horrifying cry echoed through the city, which forced the spectators to wonder what was going on. The remaining people alive on the planet could only wonder what was going on as the light faded away. While the Supreme Kais whispered something to each other, Trunks couldn't but worry about his father and Son Goku. He could feel the fantastic ki emitting from the fused Saiyan. It was incredible power, but he still harbored a doubt after all the trouble he went through with Goku Black. After all, how can you beat an immortal enemy?
The purple-haired warrior snapped from his thoughts when he heard the Kai from the other universe speak. "A-Amazing, so this is the power of two fused Saiyans?! I had no idea it would be so powerful..." Trunks agreed with Gowasu, who tried to keep up with the fight.
Shin, the Supreme Kai of the 7th Universe, could only nod in agreement on the left side. "Yes, I had the same thoughts when they fused for the first time to fight Majin Buu. However, this version of Vegito is on a whole different level."
"The fact that he didn't tap into god ki... it's astonishing, to say the least!" There was hope. This time he was sure Vegito would end his fight and save not only this universe but all the others from Zamasu.
While these two deities were happy with how things progressed, Trunks had something else in mind. "But wouldn't it be better if they used the blue form and get it over with?!" His voice was rather loud and kind of heavy.
After all the torture he and Main went through, he just wanted this nightmare to end already. Many innocent people died because of Zamasu, and he couldn't do a single thing to stop them. Finally, there was hope, according to the Kais, but it dragged too long. The half-Saiyan relaxed a little when he felt Mai's soft touch on his shoulder.
Shin and Gowasu looked at each other, wondering for a moment until the shorter one decided to be the one to offer a possible reason. "Well, the only explanation I can give you, Trunks is that Vegito knows of his time limit. Considering that and how much stamina the blue form takes... he is aware that using too much power could shorten the fusion." That was the only answer he could give to the warrior.
Trunks blinked a few times until he finally understood. "I see..." Vegeta's son shifted his gaze back to the battlefield. He could see the fusions clash in the air and glide across the sky.
"Go, father, and you too, Goku, beat that monster... please!"

They rushed at each other. While a golden aura engulfed the Saiyan, the vile Kai got surrounded by a dark, sinister glow. Their fists collided in mid-air, creating a powerful shockwave that caused the Earth to tremble and shatter. The earthquakes spread over the entire place, but that was the last thing on their minds. After their fists collided, the first to move away was Vegito. The Super Saiyan moved out, but only to gain some momentum. He spun around and delivered a strong elbow in Zamasu's face. While the Kai groaned, the Saiyan grasped the hand and moved Zamasu closer. As he pulled the fallen deity closer, Vegito crashed a heavy knee into the enemy's abdomen.
As Zamasu floated away, Vegito was still able to reach him. He seized the man's head and flew toward the ground. A strong impact echoed all over the demolished city. The fused Super Saiyan held his enemy firmly against the floor.
"So this is it, huh? All that boasting and babbling about how superior you are, how much of a god you are, and yet... you're so weak and unable to defeat me, a mortal. You're nothing but a pathetic whimpering child!"
Vegito's voice was stern as he held Zamasu's large hand and head pinned on the ground. He could feel him trying to break free, but there was no way to escape. Vegito added more force, but he needed to figure out how to defeat an immortal man properly. He needed to think fast because time was his enemy as well. The fused Saiyan was able to see Zamasu's wounds heal, which annoyed him even more. The warrior's hand began to glow, emitting blazing ki against Kai's face.
A painful scream rang through the place, but only Vegito could hear it. "Maybe if I completely disintegrate him, he won't be able to come back together... I'll need one powerful attack for that to make it work!" He didn't want to tap into the godly ki and shorten his time, but the warrior had no other choice.
Vegito was just about to transform when he saw a purple light flickering from Zamasu's eyes. Not wanting to take the attack head-on, the fused warrior let go of the opponent and jumped away just in time as an explosion of ki erupted from Zamasu.
He landed safely at least twenty meters from the corrupted Kai, who was slowly regenerating. "Tch, that's so annoying!" Mumbled Vegito as he watched Zamasu heal again.
However, something caught his attention. "Huh, what's this? Why's his ki so low?" Wondered the fused Super Saiyan as he observed the fallen deity for a minute.
Zamasu breathed hard; drops of sweat dripped from his face. He was barely able to stand, and he didn't know why. Something wasn't right with his body.
"C-Curses, what is going on!? I'm a GOD, and this should not have any effect on me! Haaaa!"
Angered and consumed by all of his negative emotions, Zamasu roared viciously. The violet and dark aura dispersed all over the place. While Vegito braced himself and observed what was going on, Zamasu just kept screaming. Nothing was happening until Zamasu started to change. To Vegitto's surprise, the evil Kai grew much taller, huge compared to the Super Saiyan. His laughter was much more profound, and so was the tone of his voice.
"Ah-Ha Ha! Nobody can stop me! I'm the one and true God; that is my fate! I shall overcome everything to make the universe a better place! Yes, a place without filthy mortals who are a mistake of creation!"
Zamasu lowered his head and gazed at the Saiyan. He stared at Vegitto and continued to laugh. "Now, come at me but be aware of one thing mortal... your existence will cease to be in only a few more seconds!" He pulled his heavy arm up, ready to strike the warrior at any moment.
Vegito remained silent as he glared at the pitiful, deformed creature in front of his teal eyes. He knew this was the appropriate time to take Zamasu out. There was only one thing that bothered him. Shortly after he does this, his existence will come to an end again. He didn't want that; he wanted to live and experience life just like his creators. Maybe he was selfish, perhaps it wasn't the right thing, but he couldn't help it. He just wanted to be him and everything that the two Saiyan warriors were.
The man gritted his teeth hard. He was annoyed, angered, worried, afraid, and sad about the demise after this battle. His emotions were getting out of control and just at the wrong possible time. However, something unexpected happened, which made him look up, surprising Zamasu, who wondered what was going on with him. He didn't know what it was, but he could feel something warm and strange. It was a blazing fire; it guided him to move forward and fight through, like a true Saiyan warrior. Vegito chuckled, realizing from where this majestic sensation came.
The ground gradually began to quiver. Rocks and buildings broke under heavy pressure. Zamasu nervously started to sweat as he was capable of sensing what was coming. Vegito lifted his fists and released a roar. A blue light consumed the entire city. Golden sparks changed into blue and continued clashing for a few seconds until Vegitto's yelling stopped. The light faded away, revealing spiky blue hair surrounded by a godly, elegant aura. Vegito finally opened his eyes and greeted Zamasu with his blue orbs.
Unaware, Zamasu took a step back, his face twisting and sweating. "Y-You fool! Just because you took that form, it doesn't mean a thing to me!" Consumed by fear, the evil Kai ran toward Vegito and swung at him.
A loud bang echoed through the city. While Zamasu laughed, thinking he delivered a fatal blow, the truth was something else. Vegito moved the heavy fist down and spoke to a shook deity.
"It's over, Zamasu. Even you should be aware of that by now."
Vegitto's words shocked and scared the divine man who desperately tried to attack, but only to fail. "I won't allow you to recover, not even for a second!" Declared the Saiyan by clobbering the evil fusion.
Zamasu flew after the tremendous strike, but Vegito followed. The warrior fired a barrage of ki blast. Every single shot hit the large Zamasu and was doing severe damage. By the time he arrived on top, Zamasu was already heavily wounded. Vegito was about to smite him back to the ground, but the fused Saiyan forcefully avoided a ki blade. The blade grazed his forehead, producing a cut that started to bleed.
However, Vegito didn't let it bother him. Instead, he grabbed the ki blade and shattered it into pieces. He delivered a few shots to the head before he spun around together with Zamasu. After releasing the hold, Zamasu crashed against the ground and bounced into a building, heavily wounded and unable to move.
"This is it, time to end it once and for all!"
Blue aura fiercely flowed around his body as he put his hands forward. "FINAL!" A blue orb appeared between his hands.
He shifted the hands over to his right hip and poured more energy into it. "KAMEHAME-HAAA!" His shout echoed across the place until an enormous blue ki blast surrounded by golden electricity headed directly at Zamasu.
The blast was so powerful that it made even Vegitto unsure if he could control it. However, he managed to do it just fine. As the giant ki attack moved forward, Zamasu couldn't even tell what was going on. His body was regenerating but not fast enough. The blast struck the corrupted Kai. Zamasu's body got overwhelmed by the blue wave and consumed. Such a mighty attack left nothing but destruction in its wake.
He could barely breathe as the smoke rose from his shaking hands to the sky. Vegito dropped on his knees only to see the wet marks on the ground caused by his sweat. He stared at the wet dots for a few seconds. The Saiyan didn't move a single muscle; he focused only on locating Zamasu's ki. He wanted to be sure everything was over, and so it seemed to be. With Zamasu's reign of terror put to an end, his life was about to come to an end as well. He closed the weary eyes and reverted to his base form. The warrior released a heavy sigh as he sat on the ground. There was only a minute or so to wait until he disappeared from this world.
As he looked at the sky, he could see the glittering stars. It seems his blast blew away all the dark clouds. A smile appeared on his face; this was his first time seeing something so beautiful. A fitting end for a warrior, and yet, while he sat there and waited for it to finish, he still craved to remain alive.
He didn't want to disappear, be only a memory to those proud and mighty warriors. No, he wanted to have his own life and live on, as a creation of Kakarot and Vegeta, the two most powerful, brave, proud, and caring warriors. He struggled to keep himself stable and not scream with all his might. Vegito bit the flesh inside his mouth. He didn't care about the blood dripping from his lips until a faint light caught his attention.
The earrings began to glow; his time was up. He could feel the light travel from Potara to his body. He could feel his mind slip away to nothingness as the glow consumed him. In these last seconds, he couldn't but wonder if and when will they need him. He closed his eyes and just waited for it. However, there it was again. That fiery sensation he felt earlier. It burned so strong and brightly he needed to see it.
As he slowly opened his eyes, he could see two flames dancing in front of him, clashing. It almost seemed like they were fighting each other, but without any malice. The blue and red flame bounced off each other and approached Vegito, who could only wonder what was going on. He could feel a warm, safe, and potent sensation radiating from them.
"What's going on? Just what are you? A figment of my wild imagination? Or, could it be..."
Once he truly realized what those flames represented, the scenery changed. He could see absolutely everything that Son Goku and Vegeta went through in their lives. The joy, terror, excitement, fear, happiness, darkness, all was there. He was well aware of it all, but still, he would never forget them, ever. Vegito closed his eyes, ready for anything, when he felt warmth against his face. He opened his eyes and saw the two flames in different shapes.
The flames took the shape of the two mightiest Saiyan warriors that have ever lived. Vegito could only stare in confusion as they reached for him.
"What!? What do you want from me? I don't understand! I can't do anything; my time is over!"
"Fight!"
There was a faint voice. The warrior was sure he heard it right. He tried to make some sense of it, but nothing came to mind. How could he fight when all but his head disappeared? Just as he was about to give up, he heard it once again.
"FIGHT!"
This time it was louder, and the flames expanded. They were here, urged him to fight, but who? Who was there left to fight? Zamasu wasn't there anymore, or so he thought at least. Nevertheless, just who did he need to fight? Vegito stared at the flames, slightly growing annoyed.
Confused, the vanishing warrior shouted at them. "Who, who do I need to fight!? I beat that pretentious bastard! The only thing left is for me to disappear. There's nothing else but that..." Suddenly he realized what they meant.
He couldn't believe it, but it was true. They wanted him to move on, despite the possible consequences. Despite the outcome, they encouraged him to try and fight as a true warrior should. If he weren't so prideful, he would even shed a tear.
"I understand. However, I won't let you fade into nothingness; I'll carry you within me forever!"
The moment he made such a statement, the flames swirled around and dashed toward the warrior. He didn't know what exactly to do, but there was something he could try. As his neck began to vanish, the Saiyan shouted and mimicked the power-up stance; just then, the flames merged with him.

He could hear a loud noise, and it was annoying because somebody was screaming right into his ears. As he slowly opened his eyes, he was able to see the young man and the black-haired woman. He blinked a few times before he moved. As he shifted into a sitting position, he got greeted by the Supreme Kais, who seemed quite surprised. Their weird expressions confused him, but first, he needed to do something else.
With his right hand, he pushed the young man away while the other rested on the ground. "Would you stop screeching into my ears!? You're going to blow my brain, boy!" He spoke with an annoyed tone.
The moment he heard his voice, he placed a hand over the mouth. He glanced down and saw the gloves on his hands. As he stirred his eyes, he was able to see the blue gi and the orange undershirt. He removed the gloves and lifted the hands. Sweat slid down his forehead as he stared with wide-open eyes at his hands.
"T-This can't be... It wasn't all just a weird illusion?"
Seeing how confused the warrior was, the Supreme Kai stepped forward. "Vegito, are you feeling alright? You were out for quite some time." Shin gently placed a hand on the Saiyan's shoulder, drawing his attention to him.
He snapped out of it when he heard the small deity. "Supreme Kai..." Mumbled Vegito quietly as he stared at Shin.
While the two stared at each other, Trunks backed away and rose from the ground. Troubled by this bizarre situation, Vegeta's son approached Gowasu, who remained silent.
"Mister Gowasu, just what's going on? Shouldn't the fusion wear off by now?"
Once Zamasu's ki disappeared, he rushed to find his father and Goku. Instead of seeing them, he only stumbled upon an unconscious Vegito. The young warrior was very confused and worried. He wasn't sure how he would go back in time if something terrible happened to the two warriors.
The older Supreme Kai was puzzled as well. This sort of thing never occurred before, but then again, he never saw mortals use Potara earrings. "As far as I know, the fusion only lasts an hour for mortals... Remember, the fusion is permanent only if Supreme Kais use them." Gowasu once again pointed out the rule.
"Which is why this situation is completely foreign to me. I apologize, but I don't think I can explain this."
Upon hearing their discussion, he opened his mouth and spoke. "There's nothing to apologize for, Supreme Kai. It's not your fault, except maybe not paying enough attention to your disciple and his wicked ambitions." Vegito rose from the ground and dusted off his clothes.
"As for me, I'm just fine. Starving, but nothing that I can't endure."
The entire group just blinked before Mai broke the silence. "Do you truly think he's fine? I mean, he doesn't look hurt to me." The black-haired woman glanced at Trunks, who nodded.
Trunks didn't know what to say. On the outside, the man seemed more than well even after such a battle. However, what troubled the young warrior was the inside. The fact that they didn't defuse concerned him a lot. He and the others snapped out of their thoughts when they heard Vegitto's loud voice.
"Hey, stop gawking like a bunch of idiots and come already! I want to get back in our time as soon as possible!"
For a moment, he could swear that he heard his father speak. It was almost the same. A little smile appeared on Trunks's face as he placed a hand on Mai's shoulder. "Seems I can only hope that everything's fine with him. I'm sure they will defuse eventually." At least he hoped so.
For now, he would accept it and let the time tell. Trunks gazed back and spoke to the Kais. "We're going with the time machine. Do you want to come with us?" The warrior asked politely and waited for the answer.
"Oh, no, there is no need. We will use the time rings and meet you at Bulma's place."
Upon hearing Shin's answer, Trunks left with Mai. Once the earthlings were far away, the shorter Kai gazed at Gowasu. "Mister Gowasu, just how is it possible to overcome the separation? Do you really have no idea what might be the cause?" His expression softened and shown just how worried he was for Goku and Vegeta.
Gowasu was silent and just observed the fused Saiyan walking in the distance. "Perhaps, there might be a reason..." The old Supreme Kai placed both hands behind the back and took a step forward.
A pleasant breeze passed across the field as he looked at the bright stars. "Perhaps it was his or theirs strong will to keep him alive that overcame the power of Potara earrings... It seems preposterous, but we can't say anything otherwise since he is walking among us." Gowasu lowered his head and glanced at his fellow Kai.
"Who knows, this might be a blessing in disguise. Wouldn't you think so?"
Shin didn't reply. He thought about it, and it did seem just how Gowasu said. Maybe this wasn't a bad thing at all. Having someone as powerful as Vegito around would be a good thing. The fused Saiyan could protect the Earth or maybe even the universe from any threat. However, what worried him was other people's reactions, especially Goku's and Vegeta's families. He knew it would be a delicate matter to explain and discuss.
The Supreme Kais didn't have much to say anymore on the matter and were, quite frankly, ready to leave. Their rings began to glow as they brought them closer; however, a dreadful feeling caught Shin's attention. He moved his head to the left, guided by a strange sensation in his gut. As the wind started to pick up, there was a grave and dangerous scent in the air. Sweat rolled down his cheeks as he took a step back, confusing Gowasu, who wondered what was going on.
Shin's eyes were wide open in horror as he saw someone approaching, barely capable of walking. "I-It can't be... H-How is he still alive!?" His stammering voice and words forced Gowasu to look forward.
"H-He is still alive... Zamasu still lives!"
-x-
While Trunks and Mai had their hands full with the time machine, the fused Saiyan minded his business and sat on a stone. He was still trying to understand what was going on. It was a miracle or maybe just their stubbornness that overcame even something like the Potara earrings. Vegito released a muffled laugh, genuinely grateful to his "parents" for this. He now had a chance to have a life and experience it to the fullest. The black-haired man closed his eyes and took a deep breath, taking in all the air and enjoying it.
However, that quickly ended when he sensed a disturbance far away. Vegito promptly rose from the rock and looked far into the distance. His expression changed as he curled his hands into tight fists.
"Tch, that bastard's still out there!"
Trunks heard him say something and wondered what it was. "Hey, is everything okay? The time machine is ready, and we can leave now if you want." The purple-haired warrior jumped on the ground and walked toward the fusion of his father and Goku.
"Stay here and have the machine ready to leave this place... I have some unfinished business to take care of!"
Before Trunks could even say something, Vegito disappeared once he placed two fingers on his forehead. The young warrior was left wondering what was going on and what did Vegito mean. However, it didn't take too long for the hybrid to feel a familiar and yet, weird energy signal in the distance.
-x-
Once he got to the place, Vegito was startled to see Zamasu's condition. The evil deity could barely walk as it was continuously changing shape. It was morphing between Zamasu and Goku Black. At one moment, it was a body of Black with the face of Zamasu. Then it changed again and again. It walked like a zombie and mumbled words. Vegito ignored it for a moment and approached the Supreme Kais.
He placed a hand on Shin's right shoulder and spoke. "Just what the hell's happening to him?" His voice surprised the two deities who didn't even feel his presence.
"I-I... It's horrible, and I'm not sure what we can do about him."
Shin quivered as he watched Zamasu, with whom he met several times and had lovely conversations. It pained him to see a fellow Kai in such a condition, despite the terrible things the deity did. His voice was so weak that Vegito could barely hear him.
Vegito didn't like the short Kai's behavior. He shifted his gaze towards the older man and waited for his reply. "This is appalling. The fusion wore off, and yet they are struggling to keep it alive. That and all the physical and mental damage taken by Vegito's attack are the culmination of this." The Saiyan raised an eyebrow upon hearing Gowasu's explanation.
He pulled himself back and crossed both arms in front of his chest. "So, what you mean to say is that those two can't maintain the fusion because they're mentally unstable, scared?" Vegito tried to understand and see if he was right. If it was indeed like that, he had an idea of how to end this once and for all.
Gowasu looked behind and blinked a few times. He moved the head down and placed a hand over his mouth, thinking. "Y-Yes, you could say that. Essentially, they are not as strong-willed as they were before... Not like you, at least." The unpleasant noises coming from his troubled disciple forced him to look at him again.
Vegito closed his eyes and smirked. "Thanks for the compliment... I'll take care of the rest." He walked between the two and slowly approached the unstable fusion.
As he stepped forward, Vegito's expression changed into a serious one. He stopped walking once he was only four steps from the unstable union. The man stared at it for a few seconds, wondering if his plan would even work.
"Humph, it's not like we have any other brilliant options..."
Vegito pulled his right hand in front and created a golden blade out of his ki. He placed the ki blade only a few centimeters from the enemy's head, ready to slice them at any moment. As he looked at their changing faces, he could see the despair in their eyes.
"You're such a pain in the ass, even worse than Majin Buu. Just disappear already!"
Vegito yelled at them as he began slicing the unstable fusion. His ki blade traveled and burned through the fusion's body, which could only release agonizing screams. "Aaahaa!" The flame-haired Saiyan shouted as he finally sliced the thing in half.
A bright light consumed the two halves and forced Vegito to jump away. The man raised his right arm and cursed. "What now?!" Wondered Vegito as he tried to figure out what was going on with them.
Once the light faded away, the Saiyan lowered his arm and glanced at the ground. "Oh, they separated back to normal." He wasn't even sure his plan would work, but in the end, it did as Zamasu and Goku Black lay separated on the ground.
While Vegito circled his opponents, Shin and Gowasu slowly approached. "I can still feel their presence, which means they are still alive. At least they are not together anymore." Commented Shin as he followed the older Kai.
"But, what will we do with them now?"
As he stood near Goku Black's body, he knew what to do. "Get rid of them; that's what we'll do." Vegito put a hand in front and started gathering some ki.
He knew what he needed to do, but it reminded him of that person as he stared at that body. The Saiyan hesitated for a moment, but at the back of his mind, he could feel their guidance. However, Vegito closed his eyes and fired a small ki blast, strong enough to disintegrate Goku Black from this world.
After he released a heavy sigh, Vegito opened his eyes. He turned around and met with Shin's gaze. The short Kai gave him an approving nod on which the warrior remained quiet. The Saiyan walked closer to the other body and saw Gowasu kneeling near it and, with a hand, gently placed on Zamasu's back. Vegito gave the older Supreme Kai a minute before speaking.
"So, what about him? Since he's immortal, we can't kill him by traditional means... Got anything in mind?"
He hated to admit that his strength wasn't enough, but it was the truth. There was nothing he could do since the guy was immortal. The Supreme Kais remained silent, and that quickly started to annoy the Saiyan. As he stared at Zamasu's sleeping face, he thought of something.
"Hn, since neither of you knows what to do, then how about we bring him to the past and have Beerus use that technique?"
Shin blinked few times in confusion before he stood up and closed both hands together. "Y-Yes, that could work! If Beerus uses his Hakai move on Zamasu, I'm sure it would..." Before the Supreme Kai of the 7th Universe could finish, he was interrupted by Gowasu.
The older man surprised the others by suddenly bowing in front of them. Shin was about to say something when Gowasu spoke. "I'm humiliated for my shortcomings and what disastrous trouble my disciple did to everyone! My heart aches just at the thought of what Zamasu did." His loud voice carried a lot of emotions.
The old deity shuddered as he remembered what horrible things Zamasu has done to everyone. "His atrocities will never be forgotten, and it shouldn't, however..." Gowasu raised his head and stared at his fellow Kai and Saiyan.
"I beg you, let me take care of him... It's the last thing I can do after my bad decisions!"
His words shocked Shin, who didn't know what to say. On the other hand, Vegito just placed his hands on the hips and allowed Gowasu to continue. "It might not be much, but as his punishment, I will seal him and never allow him to see the sun's light. Please, let me take care of my foolish disciple!" Pleaded the old Kai as he dropped to his knees.
Shin could only quietly mumble as he felt terrible for his fellow friend. "Mister Gowasu..." The young Supreme Kai wished something like this didn't happen to him. Shin looked away, not knowing what to say when he noticed Vegito moving.
The Saiyan passed by the Kai and glared at Zamasu's unconscious body. He had an urge to blast him again and again, but it would be useless. The warrior released a sigh and moved away.
"Do what you want with him; I don't care."
Vegito closed his eyes and crossed his arms as he walked past Gowasu and Shin. "Just don't come asking for help if you screw up... again!" Added the Saiyan as he moved several meters away from them, not caring for the old Kai's bow.
While Shin tried to apologize for Vegito'sinappropriate words and behavior, Gowasu just smiled. "Everything is fine, my friend. His words speak the truth, but this time I will be careful; I won't allow something like this ever to happen again!" Declared the older man as he squeezed his hands.
Gowasu closed his eyes and focused. He pulled both hands in front of his face and started to move them while chanting some words. A yellowish glow appeared around his fingers, and when he opened his eyes, he aimed the fingers in Zamasu's direction. Zamasu's body suddenly started to glow with the same light. As the yellow glow surrounded the corrupted deity, faint, crimson letters appeared above its body along with ropes. Once he deemed the time right, Gowasu yelled some words on which the letters dug into Zamasu's body and the strings.
While the drop of sweat traveled across his wrinkled forehead, Gowasu sighed. "Uhh, I guess I'm getting too old for this... but that's it." Stated the old Supreme Kai as he approached the glowing body of his disciple.
He crouched and placed a hand on Zamasu's body. "Thank you for everything you have done; I will never forget your kindness! If you ever need anything, please come, and I will help you no matter what. Goodbye!" Those were Gowasu's last words before he disappeared, back to the past.
Once he was sure that their ki was gone, Vegito opened his mouth. "Will he truly be alright?" The Saiyan asked very quietly as he stared at the place where once the older Supreme Kai stood.
Shin approached the fused warrior and smiled. "It will be rough for mister Gowasu at first, but I'm sure he will overcome it as time goes by." He truly believed that and couldn't wait to see his fellow Kai once again.
As the bright moonlight reached their bodies, Shin glanced at the taller male. "How about you? Are you alright with this or..." Before he could finish, Vegito simply walked away.
He wasn't surprised by this kind of behavior at all. The short Supreme Kai smiled as he remembered what kind of people gave birth to this man. He lost himself in thoughts when he heard a loud voice.
"Move it, Supreme Kai, or you'll miss some delicious dinner!"
Shin blinked few times before he took a step forward and ran. As he tried to close the distance, he couldn't but let out a low laugh. "It doesn't feel like they are gone at all..." Thought the Shin as he caught up to Vegito and noticed a time machine in the air, ready to take them to the past.

While the guests in the garden patiently awaited Son Goku and Vegeta to return, Bulma couldn't stay still. The blue-haired genius was either walking in circles or adjusting something on the table. The thoughts of her husband or future son being wounded or possibly dead haunted her. However, no matter what dark thoughts roamed inside her pretty head, she knew they would come back, alive and well. There was no need to worry; Vegeta was there, and so was Goku. If they worked together, she knew those two could beat anyone. Of course, if those two idiots put aside their pride, especially her husband.
Knowing how hard those two were to deal with, Bulma mumbled some words and glared at the food on the table. She was about to pick up her drink when she heard a burst of laughter. As she shifted her gaze, she saw little Pan making some trouble for Piccolo, who was completely red in the face. Bulma couldn't resist and allowed a giggle to escape as she watched the tall Namekian having trouble and Gohan trying to help.
Bulma forcefully looked away when she felt a hand on her back. "There's no need to worry. Those two are too stubborn to die." As she turned around and looked down, Bulma smiled when she saw Krillin.
As the bald martial artist moved the hand away, Bulma gave him a nod. "I know that too well...It's just that I-I can't help but worry. This opponent seems to be very tough and scary." She squeezed the glass as much as she could, causing her hand to shake.
Krillin noticed that and immediately tried to say something that could relieve her from stress. "Hey, hey, I know you're worried as hell for them, but don't forget that Whis trained both Goku and Vegeta. There's no way they can lose!" The short man spoke with determination and trusted in return of his friends.
She was about to thank him for this, but Bulma turned her attention someplace else because of a loud voice. "Bulma! I request more of this exquisite food at once!" A throbbing vein appeared on her forehead as she heard the voice of the God of Destruction. She took a large plate with her left hand and walked away from Krillin, who nervously laughed.
Once she arrived at the table, she had something to see. It was a mess, and the entire table looked filthy with empty plates and pieces of left food. While Beerus was eating like a pig, Bulma smashed the plate on the table, completely scaring the cat.
"Here, enjoy yourself!"
Bulma's loud and cold voice frightened even the almighty god of destruction, who had difficulty swallowing a piece of meat. While the purple cat tried not to choke, his attendant softly chuckled.
"Oh, seems you angered miss Bulma, Lord Beerus. You should be more compassionate, or we won't get more of this marvelous food!"
The voice belonged to Whis, who couldn't but twist on his chair after putting a spun with cake on it into his mouth. He felt as if he reached heaven as the cake melted inside his mouth.
While the angel quivered, Beerus slammed a glass on the table and growled. "Hmph, be quiet, Whis! You're the one who wanted more of this, and besides... if they stop giving me food, I'll just destroy this planet." A dark grin appeared on Beerus's face, but only for a moment as he took a bite of something and started to make happy expressions.
Whis just closed his eyes and smiled, knowing too well those were just empty threats. The angel picked the napkin from the table and cleaned his lips. "They are gone for quite some time already... I wonder if they managed to defeat Zamasu." His words caused the purple cat to stop eating.
Whis could tell by Beerus's body language that he was worried about those two as well. Beerus might never say it out loud, but he was aware of that. The angel was about to add something else when he felt a ripple. Whis shifted his eyes towards the empty section of the garden when a sparkling light appeared.
Everyone started to gather around it. Bulma and her son were in the first row along with Gohan while the rest were behind. Suddenly the time machine appeared, and everyone raised their arms. As the time machine slowly descended to the ground, Whis looked at Beerus and smiled when he saw the man's expression. The angel rose from the chair and walked toward the crowd while Beerus took some time.
Once the time machine made contact with the ground, the hatchet started to open. The first to jump out was the Supreme Kai, who helped Mai so the black-haired woman wouldn't get hurt. While the others greeted them, Kai's presence didn't go unnoticed by Beerus, who immediately rushed over and yelled at the short deity for putting both of their lives in danger. The others left the two alone with Whis, who just giggled at their bickering. However, the angel's expression quickly changed when he felt familiar and yet strange ki at the same time inside the machine.
"Trunks, are you alright?! You aren't hurt!?"
The frantic voice belonged to Bulma, who hugged her son from the future and didn't let go. She was too scared and worried for his life. After all that he went through, she wanted him to stay in her arms forever.
He greeted her with a warm smile. "I'm fine, mother. There's no need for you to worry; everything is over!" Declared Trunks on which the others couldn't but applaud.
The young warrior was happy to see all of his friends in one place. He grinned when he met his mother's blue eyes, but that also made him wonder how she and Chi-Chi would react to the news. It made him nervous, but he managed to hide it for now.
"I'm happy you managed to stay safe, sweety, both of you."
As she said that, Bulma looked at Mai and placed a hand on her shoulder. While the black-haired woman thanked her for everything she had done, Bulma noticed somebody was missing. She was about to address that when somebody intercepted her.
Son Goku's oldest son, Gohan, approached Trunks and greeted him. "Trunks, I'm sorry for not helping you out. I-I just recently heard what happened to your future, and I..." Gohan stopped when he felt Trunks's fist on his chest.
He saw Trunks shake his head and smile as if telling him not to feel sorry at all. Gohan nodded and asked something. "Huh, where are dad and Vegeta? Aren't they with you?" His question caught everybody's attention.
Trunks didn't know how to respond. The warrior from the future looked away and wondered what to say. Thankfully, the Supreme Kai noticed his worried look and tried to help out.
"Um, everyone, if I can have your attention, please."
All gathered in the garden looked at him, which made him a bit uneasy, but it was something he needed to do. "I know all of you are probably wondering what exactly happened, so allow me to explain everything!" Shin mentally assured Trunks it would be fine.
The Supreme Kai was just about to start, but his patience ran out. He placed a boot on edge and jumped out of the time machine. As the man landed on the ground, the warrior could hear whispers. He rose and graced the group with his presence. Even though his expression was stern and didn't show any hint of emotion, he was nervous on the inside. He didn't know how to react and what to say, which is why he wanted to let the Supreme Kai explain things. However, it took too long, and that worsened the situation. As he inspected the others with his dark orbs, he could tell they wondered who he was.
His attention shifted down when he heard a child's voice. For only a second, his eyes widened as he saw who it was. "Excuse me, sir, but who are you? Do you know where are my dad and uncle Vegeta?" He was just about to open his mouth when he saw a taller man approach the youth.
"Goten, come here. You can't just..."
Gohan tried to move his younger brother away, but he felt something when he met the stranger's eyes. He stared right into them and accidentally said a word. "F-Father?" His stammering voice caught the attention of Piccolo, who was shocked to hear it.
While Vegito was startled to hear that word from Gohan's mouth, he snapped out of it when he saw a blue-haired woman get into Supreme Kai's face and yell. "Tell me, where are Vegeta and Goku!? Why aren't they with you!? What happened in the future!?" He could see a trail of tears travel across her cheeks, which stirred something inside of him.
Vegito wanted to reach out to her, but Trunks got in the way. "Mother, stop! I'll explain, but first, calm down!" The future warrior's voice caught his mother's and everyone's attention. "Goku and my father are here but also not... Black was too strong for us to beat, especially when he fused with Zamasu! We were about to die when father and Goku combined..." He glanced at the full-blooded Saiyan and got permission to continue.
"I see. So, Goku and Vegeta used the Potara earrings to fuse and defeat Zamasu and Goku Black."
Trunks nodded when he heard Whis voice. "Yes, exactly. They overwhelmed us completely... Father, Goku, and I could do nothing to them!" He was mad at himself for being so useless.
The man closed his eyes and relaxed, knowing that he needed to explain this to the end. "So, there was no other choice... Goku and my father decided to use the earrings as well, creating a new person, a mighty warrior." As he moved his hand, Trunks from the future pointed at Vegito.
"WHAT!?"
Their shocked voices echoed across the place; they couldn't believe that this person was a fusion of Son Goku and Vegeta. "W-Woah, Goku and Vegeta fused?! That's crazy!" Yamcha's voice reached from the back as he stared at the flame-haired Saiyan.
The bald martial artist who was near Yamcha nodded in agreement. "Yeah, knowing how Vegeta was always against working together with Goku, their opponent really must've been super dangerous!" Added Krillin, who never imagined that those two would fuse, but now that he looked a little better at this warrior, he could see their resemblance.
Their nonsense irritated the tall Namekian. "Are you two completely dense or only have a short memory? Don't you remember that Goku and Vegeta fused at one time?" Piccolo's stern voice startled Krillin and Yamcha as he took a step forward.
The Namekian warrior walked through the crowd and approached the reborn fusion. "Goku once told me that the Potara earrings work differently than the fusion dance, and yet they defused... So when or will they even separate this time?" The tall Namekian stood right in front of the Saiyan and glared into the black orbs.
Vegito could barely hold back the smirk as he glared back. Piccolo was the same as always. He might not know the man personally, but his "parents" memories were more than enough for him to understand the warrior in front. Vegito could tell that everyone wanted an answer to that, especially Bulma and Chi-Chi, who were glaring at him all this time. The short Supreme Kai tried to explain, but the Saiyan just placed a hand in front, stopping him.
He moved his other hand and placed it on the left hip. "Thank you for everything, Supreme Kai, but I'll take it from here." The sound of his voice surprised the others, but he didn't let that get to him.
He closed his eyes for a moment and spoke to everyone gathered. "I want to clarify something. I'm neither Kakarot nor Vegeta; my name is Vegito! And to answer your question Piccolo, no, this fusion is permanent." He truly wished that was the case.
