This story is going to differ from my other stories, As it will contain a huge amount of cute-as-heck adventures, And also some dark stories.
Like the different sides of the same coin.
And of course, It will have... Slightly different writing styles.
Anyway, It's starting any minute now...

The ship was mostly silent, Only the usual sounds of the machinery ringing out throughout the rooms. Though all the lights were turned off, Granted, The ship was active almost all the time, Even if it's owner was sound asleep in her room.
Granted, Their owner did enjoy sleeping a lot, As she was still in her young ages. But, That didn't mean her sleep had to keep her away from her mission.
RING! RING! RING!
Suddenly, An alarm clock went off, Loud ringing noises ringing throughout the entire bedroom and waking the poor girl who was having her good night's sleep.
"Woah, AH!" A squeak came out of the girl's mouth as she was flung from her bed, Landing with a hard CRACK! as her signature top hat slowly and gently floated down on her head.
"Ow..." The girl groaned and pulled herself up, Rubbing the sleep out of her eyes as she regained her sense of balance. Everything was spinning, And it was making her so dizzy! Stupid alarm!
She was starting to regret placing such a dumb alarm system inside her bed, The alarm system rudely awakened her most of the mornings, And it scared the life out of her whenever it happened!
This girl, Who placed such an alarm clock on her bed, Was of course, The Hat Kid. The Guardian of the Time Pieces!
Though she just liked to call herself Hat Kid or just Hattie.
It was her lovely nickname, And everyone loved it! Probably.
After the world around her stopped spinning for her, She made her way to the bedroom door, Saying her goodbyes to her dear, warm bed and the pillow pool for the day.
As she waited for the door open, Which didn't take long at all, She smiled as she realized that she could go home now! After her last accident with the Mafia that somehow flew up to space, She managed to recover almost all of the Time Pieces, And now had enough fuel to return home!
But there were some clean-ups left for her to do, And also she promised to hang out more with her friends... Maybe home could wait for a moment.
As she went out to the main area of her spaceship, She smiled and waved to Snatcher who was sitting on the burger cushion, Reading his boring books. The books he would always read were always titled "How to kill kids", And that sometimes spooked her. Maybe it was supposed to spook her because he was a ghost?
Oh yeah, That, Was Snatcher. Former prince, Marriage turned out bad, He became a ghost... Blah blah blah, He was a friend to her.
Also, He looked like a really long noodle, But that is never to be said in front of him.
"Another lazy morning? You gotta wake up earlier before that alarm kills you, Kid. If it does, I'd miss the opportunity of killing you myself!" Snatcher said to her with a crooked smile as she pouted, Sleep was way more important than reading some stupid books...
Don't get her wrong, She loved reading books! But abandoning such a good activity like sleep to read a book just wasn't worth it.
"Breakfast?" She asked, Rubbing her growling stomach as she looked at the kitchen. She could use a bite right now... Maybe Snatcher wanted some too? If ghosts could eat anyway.
"Ghosts don't need to eat, Kid. I thought I explained this to you before!" Snatcher frowned as he replied, Clearly annoyed that she was still talking to her.
"But... Can't you guys eat?" She asked as she wondered if ghosts could eat, Snatcher seemed to have enough of a physical body to do so. Heck, He even managed to slash her with his claws! So he should have some sort of a physical body if he did that, Right?
"Hah, Sure I can, But I clearly don't need to, And I'm not feeling like I should. Now shoo, Kid. I've got a book to finish!" Snatcher pushed her away with his stupidly long tail as he flipped the page. She pouted, Looks like she would eat breakfast alone for today. But one day, She was going to bring Snatcher to eat with her! Maybe she'll even give him one of her fancy wines that she kept for absolutely no reason at all.
As she made her way to the stairs leading to the kitchen, A familiar face greeted her.
Bump. "Hi, Rumbi!" She greeted the robot as it smiled at her with it's face made out of LED lights. It was cute when it was smiling! She was proud that she made it herself.
She walked inside the kitchen after she made her way up the stairs, Grabbing a box full of slightly sweetened cereals, And of course, A bottle of milk.
She poured both into a small bowl and fetched a spoon, Bringing her bowl of cereal to a table and starting to eat.
As she chewed on the crunchy cereals, She thought up some plans for the day ahead of her, Smiling as she thought of all kinds of fun activities she would enjoy, And the ways to fetch the remaining Time Pieces.
First, Visit the Subcon forest and check for any lost Time Pieces or Time Rifts, And solve them!
Then, She would head to Dead Bird Studio, And take a peek at the movies the bird directors were making. Maybe she would even act in some of them!
And finally, She would visit the Mafia Town and watch the stars on the beach.
She finished her breakfast and carried the bowl to the sink. She just tossed the bowl inside, She would clean them later.
Finally, With her energy replenished, She ran out of the kitchen to go back into her bedroom.
After she made her way back, She dove inside the pillow pool to reach her secret hideout, And took the diary. Today was a special day, So she was going to take it with her!
Next, She opened her closet to take the umbrella and the baseball bat, Just in case.
And finally, She took her Multi-Purpose Sash.
It could change the color of her outfit to her liking thanks to the machine, And even the Flairs and the badges on her hats!
It also had the function to teleport her to her ship, So it was useful whenever she would get lost exploring.
She was feeling like wearing her original clothes today, So she just put it inside her pocket without doing anything with it.
Now, She was ready to go outside!
She smiled and peeked inside the telescope inside her bedroom, Enjoying the view of the beautiful yet dark Subcon Forest. She had no idea about what was going to happen to her once she was down there, As she cheerily hopped inside the transportation pod.
Act 0-1: A New Beginning
The cheerful child landed on the wet forest floor, Striking a pose as she did so. It always felt good when she landed like that!
She tapped lightly on her signature top hat, Of course she needed it to locate the Time Pieces around her, And also she needed it to stay stylish and live up to her name!
But the signal it sent back made her confused. The signal was giving off all kinds of funky and dark feelings... It didn't feel safe at all unlike the usual Time Rifts she would solve.
It was... Off, And weird. Time Rifts or Pieces never felt like that at all, It usually gave off peaceful waves of warm energy. She needed to find the source of this signal, Maybe it could give her some answers.
With that thought clear in her mind, She set off inside the Subcon Forest to find the source of the signal, Humming as she went along the way.
Until she stepped on a very familiar trap.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA, FOOOOO- Oh, It's just you, Again. What are you doing in my forest, Kid? I thought I told you to stay OUT."
She rolled her eyes, Shrugging as Snatcher asked her the obvious.
"Looking for another one of those hourglasses of yours? Fine, Then. Get your stuff, And shoo. Out you go! Is that clear?" To respond, She nodded and smiled. Snatcher was much more... Cooperative nowadays!
She hoped that he would remain like this... Hopefully. It would be nice! She hated him bossing her around.
Normally, She wouldn't like the ghost that much, But looks like today was different. Snatcher disappeared, Leaving Hat Kid alone. She giggled joyously and went along the way, Leaving tiny footprints on the forest's floor.
She had a job to do, And she was going to see it until the end.
As she traced the anomaly, She met a few of Snatcher's minions, So she greeted them with a wave as she ran by.
"Hey, Kid! I thought boss didn't you want here, But I guess you managed to convince him otherwise somehow." One of them told her, And she nodded, A bright smile adorning her features.
"Good job, Kiddo. Keep it up, And you might even get accepted as one of us!" She didn't know if she liked the sound of that or not. Honestly, Becoming one of them sounded sorta scary too... Surely it was metaphorical, Right?
"I have to go do something, I'll be right back, Don't worry!" She said her goodbyes to the rest of the group, All of them waving back at her with their chubby hands. A cute sight, Even for her!
Only if they didn't hang by their necks when they would try to sleep. That still gave her nightmares.
Cleaning her head of bad memories, She put the Sprint Hat on her head, A familiar badge mounted on it.
The Scooter Badge, Also one of her favorite badges, Had the power to summon a scooter out of nowhere for her to drive! Did she have a license? Of course not, But who cared about such things anyway? She absolutely didn't.
She hopped on the scooter, And started it up.
In mere moments, She was moving through the forest in a flash! She giggled to herself as she drove the scooter, It was fun as always!
She drove through the Subcon Forest. Wind, Mushrooms, Dwellers, Trees, And much more passing by her as she enjoyed the cool breeze.
She skidded to a stop when she saw a familiar face, Though. The Badge Seller!
She hopped off the scooter, The scooter disappearing with a small puff, And greeted the merchant with a smile on her face.
"Greetings, Young one. Care to take a look at my wares? I believe I have some new items that will surely take your interest." Hmm, That actually didn't sound too bad for her, So she nodded.
And she would be lying if she said what they presented her didn't fascinate her.
So she pointed to the most interesting one he had for sale, Which was a green badge with a gold outlining, Fancy!
"Ah, The Shadow Dweller Badge, This allows you to become incorporeal while you use your Dweller Mask, A very useful badge when you want to avoid something dangerous, It's currently on sale for 350 Pons." They explained to her, That sounded amazing!
"I want!" She cheerily said as she handed him bag full of Pons, The currency of this planet.
And soon, She was happily putting the badge inside her pockets.
Then she pointed to the next one, A red badge with some drawings of multi-colored stars, And yellow boots.
"I see that you're interested in the Channeling Badge, It allows you to gather and channel physical energy to.. Certain parts of your body, Such as your legs or arms. It will provide good use if you wanted a little boost. For just 550 Pons." That was expensive, But the ability it gave her was totally worth it! Could she jump higher with it? Maybe hit a mafia so hard that he flies off into the distance? Oh! Maybe she could jump off of walls even more easily!
Needless to say, Hat Kid emptied her wallets to buy the badges she wanted, And at the end, She walked away with a happy and excited smile on her face.
She was excited to put these things to use!
She put her signature hat once again, The hat bouncing off of her head once before landing on it. Thankfully, She didn't have to go much further. The signal her hat was receiving was nearby, And she could feel the weird signal become much more intense.
She felt no need to drive the scooter for rest of her way, Since it was just so close. So she decided to put her Sprint Hat on, Then put the Channeling Badge on it instead of the Scooter Badge.
The moment she started running, She could feel her body getting lighter and lighter for each step she took, The badge was doing it's wonders and collecting physical energy really well!
Thanks to her newest addition of her badge collection, She bolted through the woods in no time.
And finally, She came face to face with the problem.
The Time Rift was red. It wasn't supposed to be red. Did it get affected by some magic of sorts? Maybe it was damaged and left alone for way too long? No, That couldn't have been.. This Time Rift was not even registered by her ship's scanners! And it was impossible to avoid her scanners.
She could even see the shattered Time Piece beneath the Rift, Which surprised her, And also scared her a little.
She would be lying if she said she was feeling okay after seeing such an... Unstable Time Rift. She could feel it giving off senses of danger, And a faint sense of the Time Piece.
She hesitantly reached towards the Rift, Getting closer, Closer and closer until...
CRACK! "Ow!"
A piece of glass got launched from the middle of the Rift, Slicing the palm of her hands. She immediately pulled her hands back, But she realized that she should have ran away earlier as she realized the Rift was getting bigger.
The Rift was becoming more unstable by every moment, And it was not giving off the usual energy of a normal Time Piece. This was... Different, And it was much more dangerous.
How did it end up here? She never remembered having such an item in her possession. Many thoughts raced through her head as the Rift got bigger, And bigger, And it kept growing.
And that moment, She felt her body being dragged. The Anomaly was sucking everything around it inside, And that did not exclude her! She turned back and tried to run, But the force was getting stronger by every second.
"AH! No, Nononononononono!" She screamed as she fell over and got slowly dragged inside the Rift, Helplessly kicking and grabbing everything she got her hands on as she got closer to the Rift.
And then she got dragged inside the Rift.
Time seemingly stopped for her as everything around her shattered, Leaving awfully bright colors that was constantly shifting.
With her heart racing, She looked around in panic, Only finding herself floating around this void full of colors and shapes she couldn't describe.
And then, She was dragged somewhere again as a wave of intense nausea struck her, And something whispered inside her ears.
The voices, It was too much for her to handle. She tried shutting her eyes and blocking her ears, But it was just still there!
Was this the end? She was stupid to have gotten close to what she didn't know anything about.
She slowly lost her consciousness, Everything around her turning black.

This story is supposed to be one of my playing ground for ideas, And will get updated most frequently.
Anyway, Let me explain what just happened to our Hat Kid.
What she touched was a Time Anomaly, A Rift that is generated for seemingly no reason at all.
However, It's true nature is different.
It is an object you can use to reach other dimensions, Only generated when two dimensions collide with each other, Leaving cracks in reality.
The Rift she touched is the crack in reality, And it quite literally dragged her inside.
The things you see and in there... Are not pleasant.
Think of it as just.. Flashing colors and otherworldly voices whispering in your ears.
I hope she handles it fine.
