Hi, just remembering that I don't own the characters, it's just a fan-to-fan story. Thank you for reading!

"Danny, Junior, we need to go to Molokai," Steve said after answering a phone call.

"A crime scene?" Danny asked.

"Yes, and the Governor has requested urgency in this investigation," Steve answered for Danny and then pointed to Lou, Tani and Quinn. "You guys stay here and we'll be in touch."

"Okay," Lou replied.

Almost three hours later...

Danny and Junior were listening to the neighbors who had witnessed the crime and a boy approached Steve. The boy offered Steve an envelope and Steve accepted the envelope. In the sender's field was written "Billy Harrington."

"Billy Harrington?" Steve said in a low voice. He knew that Billy Harrington was dead. Steve went after the boy and questioned him. "Who asked you to give this to me?"

"A woman," the boy replied.

"A woman? And what does she look like? Can you describe her to me?" Steve asked.

"She gave me twenty dollars. Will you give me that too?"

Steve reached for the money in his wallet and the boy reached out to take it, but Steve wouldn't let him do that. "No! First tell me what she looks like."

"She's blonde," the boy replied.

"Blonde? And what else?" Steve showed him the money again.

"She's thin and a little shorter than you."

"Okay," Steve handed the boy the money and the boy ran away.

"Catherine is undercover and used Billy's name to let me know that she is the sender of this letter. I wonder if she is on a mission and that mission is involved with today's crime." Steve thought. He opened the letter and there was a written address and nothing else. He looked at Danny and Junior who were talking to the victim's neighbors. A few minutes later Danny approached them and Steve kept the letter in his pants pocket.

"Steve, I don't know why the Governor sent us here. According to all indications it's a crime of passion. The neighbors saw the victim's fiancée run out of the house and get into a car right after the shots were fired."

"Well, if it was a crime of passion, it was still a crime," Steve replied.

"And the local police can handle it, " Danny replied.

"We should have brought Noelani in," Steve said as he kept his gaze away, a little distracted.

"What's wrong with you?" Danny asked.

"There's nothing wrong, Danny."

"You look worried. I think we should pass the neighbors' information to the island police and head back to Oahu. We have a double date today, remember? Me and Ivy and you and Brooke."

"I remember, but I'll let Brooke know I won't be able to make it. You and Junior can go back to Oahu. I'll check into a hotel and stay here until tomorrow."

"But why, Steve? It's not necessary," Danny didn't understand Steve's decision to stay on the island.

"If the Governor asked, I'll do what he asked. Call Junior and go home."

"If you keep acting this way you're going to lose Brooke. You were off the island for eight months and in my opinion you came back the same way you went. You're lucky Brooke took you back, but everything has a limit and I think Brooke is reaching her limit," Danny told Steve.

"Well, if she doesn't want to have a relationship with me anymore it's up to her to tell me that, don't you think?"

"She hasn't said anything yet, it's just a friend alert," Danny replied.

Junior approached and Steve told him that he would be on the island until the next day. "And you're going home with Danny," Steve said when Junior said he would stay on Molokai with him.

Danny and Junior left two hours later and Steve worked on the investigation until the end of the day. He checked into a hotel, took a shower, put on the clothes he had brought in case he needed to spend more than one day on the island, and sat down on the bed to think. He picked up the paper again and looked at the address written on it. It was her handwriting, he had no doubt about that.

Half an hour later he was in front of a house in a neighborhood away from the city center. He approached it and rang the doorbell.
