Hello, everyone, PHANTOMKNIGHTMARE47 here with the first chapter of my newest Sonic The Hedgehog fanfiction, it's called Sonic Forces 2: The Return Of Eggman! It's set after the events of Sonic Forces, and I will be including characters from the games, IDW and Archie Sonic comic books, and TV shows, the plot goes like this: Following the war between the Resistance and Eggman's Army, Sonic and his friends can only hope that life on their home planet of Mobius can return to normal. However, Eggman returns, with a majority of Sonic and co. 's rogues gallery, ready to exact revenge on Sonic and his friends. Sonic and the gang later notice that following the death of Infinite the Jackal, and the destruction of the Phantom Ruby, various Mobians have been exhibiting superpowers. So, it's up to Sonic and the gang in order to protect these Mobians, and stop Eggman from taking over Mobius. And, along the way, Sonic is mustering up the courage to admit his feelings to Amy Rose, his self-proclaimed 'number-one fan'.

Chapter 1: The Return Of An Old Foe
In the far reaches of the galaxy, there was a planet known as Mobius. Its denizens were known as Mobians, which took on the form of anthropomorphic mammals, reptiles, marine life, insects, arachnids, dinosaurs, and mythical creatures. However, the people of Mobius had a common enemy: Dr. Ivo Julien Robotnik, or as he was referred to as Dr. Eggman, who enslaved the innocent creatures of Mobius, and used them to power his robots. Luckily, the people had their own hero, Sonic The Hedgehog, who was known as the 'Fastest Thing Alive', due to the fact that he possessed the power to run at incredible speeds since childhood. Along his journeys, Sonic had made numerous friends, such as Miles Prower, or 'Tails', due to the fact he was born with two tails, which allowed him to fly. Tails, despite being 8 years old, possessed an IQ of 300. They also met Knuckles The Echidna, the last of the Echidna Tribe who guards the Master Emerald, Amy Rose, a pink hedgehog who is Sonic's self-proclaimed 'number-one fan', Rouge The Bat, a spy who is also a master jewel thief, Shadow The Hedgehog, a Mobian-Black Arms hybrid created in a government laboratory who was known as the 'Ultimate Lifeform', Silver The Hedgehog, a psychokinetic hedgehog from an apocalyptic future, Blaze The Cat, a warrior princess from the Sol Dimension, and more.
At one point, with the aid of both a new gemstone known as the Phantom Ruby, and an assassin known as Infinite, Eggman actually managed to defeat Sonic, and take over Mobius, luckily, Sonic and friends, alongside Sonic's past counterpart, managed to defeat Eggman and his forces.
At another point in time, Eggman allied himself with a mad scientist known as Dr. Starline The Platypus, in engineering a biological weapon known as the Metal Virus, which can turn organic life into cold steel, and infected a majority of Mobianity, turning them into Zombots, however, Sonic, with the help of Silver, managed to cure the people of Mobius, and destroyed the Metal Virus by sending it into the sun.
Location: Green Hill Zone
It cuts to the 'Fastest Thing Alive' himself, Sonic, speeding throughout the fields of Green Hill Zone, with a smirk on his face, he then saw a loop, and sped through it
"WOOOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Sonic hollered, with a smile on his face

Sonic sprinted through the grassy fields of the Green Hill Zone, with an excited smile on his face.
"This is totally freakin' awesome!" said Sonic, with a shonen anime and manga protagonist style grin on his muzzle.
'It's been a while since our last victory against Eggman and his flunkies.' Sonic thought 'Me and my friends have kicked his ass so many times, I've lost count. I've made a lot of friends, and encountered new enemies. I even had to save the planet from not only the Deadly Six, but also Infinite, and me and Silver managed to cure everyone of the Metal Virus, before Eggman used it to infect everyone, including me.' he remembered all the times he and his friends saved Mobius numerous times over from Eggman, as well as various other foes such as the Deadly Six and Infinite, and cured the population of Mobius from the Metal Virus.
"I can only hope that when Eggman finally goes down, he goes down for good." said Sonic, knowing that the next time he and Eggman were to do battle again, either him or Eggman would be carried out of Mobius in a casket.
Meanwhile, with Eggman, he was fuming over his latest defeat at the hands of Sonic and his friends
"DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, GODDAMNIT!" Eggman snarled, throwing a major hissy-fit as he threw stuff like chairs everywhere "THIS HAPPENS EVERY GODDAMN TIME! EVERY TIME! I TRY TO RULE OVER MOBIANITY, I LOSE TO THAT WRETCHED VERMIN, SONIC, AND HIS WORTHLESS FRIENDS!"
"Doctor, please calm down!" said Orbot "Remember your blood pressure!" he added, worried about Eggman's health
"DON'T EVEN START WITH ME, OBOT!" Eggman barked, glaring at one of his robotic henchmen "OR I SWEAR TO GOD, I WILL TURN YOU INTO A PRESSURE COOKER! GOT IT!?"
Orbot yelped with terror, scared that Eggman will actually follow through with his threat.
"If my next plot to take over Mobius is a flop, I'm gonna go batshit freaking crazy!" said Eggman. Suddenly, he noticed Starlight arrive, along with a green hedgehog that resembled an evil doppelganger of Sonic, a red and yellow fox with brown hair and blue eyes, as well as a Mobian hyena with gauntlets on his forearms that had built-in guns, a lion with black hair, orange fur, and blue eyes, a manticore with charcoal black fur, black hair with purple tint, and dark purple eyes, with a literal third eye in the middle of his forehead, an echidna similar to Knuckles, with blue eyes, scars on his left eye, a lightning bolt mark on his chest, and steel claws from his knuckles.
"Hello, Doctor." said Starline, with a smirk on his face "I have brought with me some new allies for our army, along with some old ones, too."
"My name is Crimson the Echidna." said the steel-clawed Echidna, sounding similar to Cooler from Dragon Ball Z, introducing himself. As he and Eggman shook hands, Eggman felt the bones in his hand crunch!
"OWOWOWOWOWOWOW!" Eggman yelped, dropping to his knees in pain with his eyes watering "Are you kidding me with that handshake!? I think you might've crushed my dominant hand!"
"My apologies." said Crimson "I must not even know my own strength."
"Let me just reset my knuckles…" said Eggman, as he then popped the knuckles in his hand back in place with a pained yelp 'Good gravy, this hurts like literal Hell!' he yelped in his mind
"My name is Bullet The Hyena." said the Mobian hyena, sounding like Yan Valentine from Hellsing Ultimate, introducing himself "And I am known as the deadliest assassin on Mobius."
"My name is Gacoki The Lion." said the orange lion, sounding similar to how Scar does in the Disney Junior show, The Lion Guard.
"My name is Yomi Kurogane the Manticore." said the manticore, sounding similar to Hopper from A Bug's Life.
"We're Yomi and Gacoki's allies, Makau and Mugo." said a red colored lion. Makau and Mugo were twins, with crimson red fur, and darker red hair, chest fur, and tail-tufts, with Makau having scars on his face, chest, and arms, with a piece of his left ear missing. Mugo wore a necklace made of teeth from all the prey he had killed, with Makau having blue eyes, and Mugo having green eyes.
"And I am Sefu the Rhino." said a Mobian rhinoceros, sounding like Nappa from Dragon Ball Z mixed with Kenny Ackerman from Attack On Titan, Sefu had dull turquoise skin, and red eyes.
"Long time no see, Doc." said a voice similar to Hawkodile from Unikitty, as the doppelganger of Sonic walked up to Eggman. He had green fur, with blue eyes, and wore a black jacket with flame decals, shades, and boots. He also had three scars on his belly, and jagged teeth.
"Same to you, Scourge." said Eggman, grinning maliciously. Scourge's girlfriend, Fiona Fox was silent, and she wore dark shades, because in secret, Scourge had been abusing her, and treating her more like an object than a fellow Mobian, getting drunk and oftentimes beating her, whipping her, and burning her with cigars. She had another flashback
"You listen to ME, you worthless bitch!" Scourge's voice snarled in Fiona's head, after he slapped her "I get to call the shots here, not you! And if you so much as try to narc on me to the Zone Police and get me arrested, I'll murder you in your goddamn sleep! GOT IT!?"
Fiona looked ready to cry. She wanted out of her abusive and toxic relationship with Scourge by whatever means necessary.
Meanwhile, Sonic was busy speeding throughout Mobiotropolis, until he noticed some new SWAT-Bots attacking people. They were moving like they were normal people, and were brandishing futuristic rifles.
'SWAT-Bots?' Sonic wondered, stunned to see an old adversary 'I haven't seen these guys in a long time. Looks like they've even gotten a new design that allows them to move and fight like actual soldiers, too. Time to scrap their asses!'
Suddenly, Sonic looked to see a Mobian lion with yellow fur, brown hair, and golden orange eyes, wearing a cybernetic vest, and boots. His right hand and forearm was robotic in design, and he turned his robotic hand into an arm cannon with the digits surrounding the barrel, and he charged up energy and fired a powerful laser blast, MegaMan style through a SWAT-Bot, turning it into scrap-metal
"BOO-YAH!" said the lion, sounding like Simba from the 2019 Disney CGI Lion King movie, with a huge smile on his face. With him was a female hedgehog with sky-blue fur, and green eyes, firing bolts of electricity from her hands, Force Lightning style, damaging the SWAT-Bots from inside, and making them explode. The hedgehog wore a blue shirt patterned like the Scottish flag, jeans, and Nike sneakers.
"Nice work, sweetie!" said the hedgehog, sounding like Merida from the Disney Pixar film, Brave.
"Yo!" said Sonic as he sprinted up to the hedgehog and lion "You guys need a hand in sending these guys to the scrapyard?"
"Thanks." said the lion "I can't believe we're actually meeting the actual Sonic The Hedgehog! This is way past cool!" he had an excited smile on his muzzle "I'm Cyo, by the way. Cyo The Lion, and this is my girlfriend, Bonnie The Hedgehog."
"Hello." said Bonnie, waving hello with a smile on her face.
"Yo!" said Sonic, waving to his new allies. Suddenly, a female Mobian cheetah zooms by, smashing various SWAT-Bots, she had marigold fur, with black hair and purple eyes, and was dressed up like a punk rocker. Sonic then looked to see a Mobian lion with white fur, a white muzzle, silver hair with blue tint styled in a fusion of L Lawliet from Death Note and Minato Namikaze from Naruto Shippuden with a ponytail in the back, and cyan eyes, wearing a white jacket with gold accents over a white shirt, gray jeans, fingerless gloves, and blue shoes flying over the SWAT-Bots, blasting them into scrap-metal with beams of golden light energy. Two lions with red fur and orange hair dressed similar to one another were melting SWAT-Bots into molten slag with fire powers. A lioness with dark blue fur, indigo skin, red hair, and golden yellow eyes wearing a purple shirt that exposed her stomach, revealing a belly-button piercing, brown jeans, and red sneakers shadow-shifted into a SWAT-Bot, and blew it up from the inside. A Mobian jaguar with black hair styled like Jesse Anderson from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, and dressed like a JRPG character was slicing and dicing through SWAT-Bots with a pair of katanas, a panther dressed like a ninja, with a mask that had Sub-Zero's mouthpiece from the 2011 Mortal Kombat game, and the forehead protector from the mask of Ryu Hayabusa's Legendary Black Falcon costume was focusing energy into his hands
"Ninpo: Art Of The Piercing Void!" said the panther, sounding like Yusuke Kitagawa from Persona 5, as he fired a miniature black hole from his hands, destroying numerous SWAT-Bots.
A Mobian orange South China tiger dressed in a red gi, with green eyes and hair styled like the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba, and he focused chi into his hands
"HADOKEN!" said the tiger, sounding like Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach, as he fired an energy blast from his hands, turning multiple SWAT-Bots into scrap-metal.
A green colored leopard was busy throwing spears into some SWAT-Bots, while a lioness with yellow fur and orange hair was destroying SWAT-Bots with a sledgehammer
"Nice work, team!" said Cyo, giving the other Mobian big cats a thumbs up. "These are my teammates."
"My name's Zaire the Leopard, one of Cyo's childhood friends from the Lion Village." said the leopard, sounding like Delsin Rowe from InFAMOUS: Second Son
"I'm Kathy the Lioness. Another friend of Cyo's since childhood." said Kathy, sounding like Pyrrha Nikos from RWBY
"My name's Noire, I'm Cyo's cousin." said the dark blue lioness, sounding like Winry Rockbell from Fullmetal Alchemist mixed with Mina Ashido/Pinky from My Hero Academia
"I'm Inferno, another of Cyo's cousins, and this is my twin sister, Ember." said the red lion, sounding like Kai from Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu
"Yo!" said Ember, sounding like Tamaki Kotatsu from Fire Force
"My name's Noah Watanabe the White Lion, I'm Noire's lover, we've been dating for a while." said the white lion, sounding like Kakeru Miwa from Shikizakura.
"I'm Zach the Jaguar." said the odd-eyed Mobian jaguar, sounding like Theo Martin, the Jungle Fury Blue Ranger.
"I am Yutaro Kurotsuki the Panther." said the Mobian ninja panther, as he took off his mask, revealing black hair with purple tint styled like L Lawliet from Death Note
"My name's Madison the Cheetah, but my friends call me Maddie." said the Mobian cheetah girl, sounding like Yang Xiao-Long from RWBY
"My name's Corey Nakamura." said the tiger.
"Together, us Mobian big cats are Team Cyo!" said Cyo, with a smile on his face "We can be your allies, in case Eggman's army attacks the city again."
"Thanks, fellas." said Sonic, smiling a little
"Sonic!" said a voice, as Tails arrived, alongside Amy and Knuckles "Is everything alright?"
"Yeah." said Sonic, reassuring his friends that everything's okay "I made some new friends here. This is Cyo, his girlfriend, Bonnie, and Cyo's teammates, Zaire, Kathy, Inferno, Ember, Noire, Noah, Madison, Corey, Zach, and Yutaro."
"Yo!" said Cyo, with a smile on his face.
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!" went Maddie, squealing with excitement upon seeing Tails "Oh my goodness, you are just the cutest little thing!" she hugged Tails like a stuffed animal, purring happily. Tails smiled at the attention he was getting from Maddie
Later, the gang were at the base, with some of Sonic's friends, like Cream, Shadow, Rouge, Silver, Blaze, Sally, Rotor, Antoine, and Bunnie.
"What's happening, Sal?" said Sonic. Sonic and Sally used to date, until they decided to part as friends.
"As you're all aware, Eggman has come out of the shadows, with an army composed of a lot of our rogues gallery." said Sally "It's going to take all of us, if we're gonna stop him."
"Agreed," said Sonic. He looked at Amy, and blushed a little, and she blushed back.
'I wanna tell Amy how I feel, but I dunno if it'll be the right time to do so.' thought Sonic, wishing to admit his feelings to Amy, which he had kept secret all these years. He then headed into his bedroom, where there was a small object on his desk
'It'll take some time, but once I'm finished with it, I'll give it to Amy as a gift.' he thought, with a small smile on his face. He then put down the object, revealing it to be….
A plush doll of Amy! It wasn't finished yet, because it only had one green button as an eye, and he's planning on stitching on another green button for the right eye.

Next Time, on Sonic Forces 2: The Return Of Eggman: Tails ends up getting a phone-call from Fiona, and he goes to visit her with Noah in an apartment complex she's living with Scourge at. Once they arrive, Tails makes a horrifying discovery that Fiona is being abused by Scourge, physically, verbally, and emotionally. He decides to help Fiona in ending her toxic relationship with Scourge, and Sonic and co. welcome Fiona back on their team with open arms. Meanwhile, Eggman decides to have Bullet attempt to assassinate Breezie The Hedgehog, who is now an ally of Sonic's team. Will Sonic and co. be able to stop Bullet from murdering one of the wealthiest people on Mobius? And will Fiona be able to muster up the courage to end her toxic relationship with Scourge once and for all? Find out in Chapter 2: The Tears Of A Vixen
Author's Notes
Sonic will be voiced by Ben Schwartz, his movie VA, since he makes Sonic sound like a teenager again, because Roger Craig Smith sounds too adult. Jaleel White will provide Sonic's singing voice, and Benjamin Valic will voice Sonic as a child.
Scourge will be killed off by Noah at one point of the story, because Noah is the 65th successor of Hokuto Shinken, whereas Yutaro uses Nanto Suichoken, Danny the Timberwolf uses Taizhan Tenrouken, and Stacey Skunk uses Nanto Koshuken, meanwhile Yomi uses Hokuto Ryuken.
Brad, Corey, and Jacob the White Tiger will practice fighting styles from video games, like Jacob and Corey using a non-lethal variant of ansatsu-ken from the Street Fighter games, while Brad uses Hyakkokuseiken from King Of Fighters
There will be chapters that discuss serious issues like domestic violence, abusive relationships, gun violence, drug and alcohol abuse, divorce, learning disabilities, and even death as well as the loss of a friend or loved one.
There will be LGBTQ+ characters and pairings, like how Whisper the Wolf will be in a same-sex relationship with Tangle the Lemur, with Tangle being bisexual, and Whisper being pansexual
There will be different kinds of Phantom Mutants like elemental manipulators, mass-shifters, size-shifters, magic users, psychics, and more.
