I'm really sorry for those who just got here and saw this chapter being suddenly remade, in chapter 5 near the end of the notes I explain why I did this. Once again I'm sorry but hey I've decided to take this story more seriously so yeah.

Dark... it was the only thing that surrounded him, it was quiet and oddly peaceful to say the least, did the black flower finally took over him ? was he finally dead? He didn't know but one thing was for certain it's that he never wanted this feeling to end. That's when he suddenly heard a faint voice calling him from behind, instinctively he turned his head to see who was calling him however he only saw a glowing figure standing behind him.
''E...rebus...you're...mine'' The mysterious glowing figure said while extending its arm towards him.
''W-who are you ?'' He asked with uncertainty while slowly stepping away from whoever that person was.
''You slaughtered them all for your own selfish desires'' Another figures said from behind while slowly walking towards him.
Afraid he kept stepping away from both figures until he felt something from behind him, slowly he turned his body only to see a black flowers on the ground. The flowers suddenly began growing bigger until it towered over him, While he was to paralyse to move a sudden hand emerged from the flower impaling him instantly. As he was slowly losing consciousness the flower lifted him up to its level while whispering one last thing.
''You will never escape us, you were cursed by the queen beast after all...''
At the center of a room was a pod containing a white humanoid shaped statue in it. The statue suddenly started to crack while glowing red before shattering into pieces leaving however came out from it crashing through the pod. After Erebus fell on the ground, he widely opened his eyes as he gasped for air, instinctively Erebus reached a hand towards his chest but surprisingly there wasn't a single wound or cut on his chest which calmed him down.
Was he dreaming ?
While trying out figure out these vivid memories Erebus slowly got up to his feet but nearly fell back on the ground if he hadn't gripped the side of the pod that was beside him. Erebus quickly looked all around him and saw that he was in a massive grey room, the lights kept flickering while some didn't even turn on. However something bright caught his attention to his left, Erebus slowly started to walk towards the shining source while making sure to not fall again. There wasn't a single sound coming from the room which made him feel quite uneasy, as he approached the shining source Erebus was relieved to see his sword with its sheath on it. After taking his sword he quietly kept exploring the room, Erebus wondered why there wasn't anyone in his room besides him but what he really wanted to know was how did he end up in here.
Erebus kept passing by many objects that were displayed, some of them were in glasses while some were chained up against walls. He couldn't help but to be unsettled by some of these objects however he soon approached to what appears to be a library which he found it strange.'why would a library be in a place like this?' Erebus thought while approaching it, there was an absurd amount books resting on the shelves. As Erebus frowned he placed his palm on a book and kept walking while tracing his fingers on them until something caught his attention, there was small golden plaque named 'Old World records' on top of an section of books to which he carefully inspected. While searching through the books his eyes widened as he saw a book named 'Erebus origins' to which he carefully took the book its shelves began inspecting it.
Erebus took notice of the book that was between his hands, it seemed really old which made him quite confused. Erebus sat on the floor and opened the book to see what information it had inside, Erebus squinted his eyes as he started to read what was in it.
'This humanoid statue was found in the underground of an old cathedral room, after one scientist made this discovery many scientists began coming down there inspecting it while trying to figure out what it could possibly represented. Many believe to be just an old relic of the old world however one day when a scientist touched the statue it began making some rather disturbing baby voices, almost as if the statue was...alive. After that they've decided to leave it here for the time being until they figured out what to do with it, however the scientists made one last discovery. Behind the statue was sword in its sheath which made the scientists question its origins however was really made them disturbed was a square stone tablet which had some...old world writing, after some time they've managed to translate it which read the following.
''beware cruel emperor, he is consumed by the flower''.
Erebus had a hard time digesting these information, why was this book talking about a statue when it was named after him ? So many questions run through his mind tried to remember his past but was unable to. Soon after he turned the pages but his eyes widened as he saw that there was no more page, it looked like they have been pulled out by someone. Putting the book down Erebus frowned as he took his sword while getting up and decided to find an exit this place, he needed answers and it was not by staying here that he would find them.
Erebus looked towards him and saw something had blinked red, as he made his way towards red light he couldn't help to to feel like he was been observed but dismissed it when he saw the source of the red light. It was a keypad as the people from this era called it but then suddenly a image of certain pair of twins came to his mind causing him a headache, He remembered their voices and how they used to come and talk to him while he was in a slumber. Erebus shook his head and began inspecting the keypad by putting his hand on it, trying to see if he could open it but it didn't seemed to work. Rolling his eyes Erebus took out his sword and sliced in half the keypad.
''Access granted'' a voice coming from the keypad said before massive door appeared on the wall and slowly opened.
Erebus was a bit surprised by the sudden appearance of the door but didn't question it and slowly went through it, he kept walking down the grey corridors until the walls started to fade into white which he found it quite weird. As Erebus kept walking down the white corridors he couldn't help but to feel slightly nervous after all there wasn't another single door just white walls. Erebus going down the corridors until he reached some sort of stairs, he followed were the stairs went and saw that they were going up to another place which is exactly what he was looking for. As Erebus climbed stairs he couldn't help but to feel that he was still being observed, what disturbed him is that he couldn't sense anything near him as if was in a deserted castle.
Once Erebus reached the top of the stairs he noticed that there was a gate ahead of him which made him roll his eyes, he hoped there there wasn't anymore gate. The gates were infested with plants and trees roots but that didn't stop him from opening the gates, as he opened the gates a bright light blinded him which caused him to covers his eyes by bringing his arm up. Once he stepped a variety of emotions could be seen on his faces, but he was mostly shocked due to the fact that he was at the top of a hill and could seen what's ahead of him. Gigantic trees with with waterfall nearby, it looked like a disaster but beautiful at the same time which left his jaw dropping.
''J-just how many years have gone by since I was asleep''He muttered to himself while still being shocked by the sight before him. Erebus checked his surroundings but was soon relieved to heard sound of many birds flying through the sky. He looked around him and found himself surrounded by bushes and plants however he saw a path that seemed to go down and towards a forest with abandoned...castle ?
''Where's everybody and why is it so empty?'' He said to himself while walking down the hill, soon he reached the ground.
''Are the intoners behind this or is it the shades ?'' He whispered under his breath. He couldn't remember how he was was put into his sleep, Erebus tried to concentrate on what happened before he was asleep but his head started to hurt trying to remember his past. He couldn't remember exactly all that happened for some reasons.
He merely remember fighting in a war for a purpose and suddenly a white light appeared in the sky, then the next thing he know was awake in that pod. A sudden memory came back to him to which he closed his eyes. There was those 2 women who were twins, He couldn't see them but he could hear them talking to him through the pod. Their name's were Devola and Popola, They were talking about how they were androids created by humans to preserves humanity including him and that he is some sort of miracle and that they were honoured to be in his presence and relieved to be able to talk to a real human also about how they were working on a secret project was called project...gestalt.
The twins said something about how it was their duty's to complete it and to protect him. Erebus really couldn't makes sense out of it and for some reasons and that was enough for him to get irritated and frustrated. He kept walking trough the forest passing trees and bushes but something caught his eyes on his left and it was moving. Erebus slowed his paces while hiding behind the bushes, he poked his head out while trying to get a better look at what it was, and to his surprise it was a...boar
''So nature always find its way back i see, well at least there are still other livings being here other than myself'' He says while frowning and a tired sigh escaping his lips and he turned back to continue walking down his path.
'There's something odd here, I can't sense any other people around here it seems like I'm in a deserted world.' Erebus thought as he kept walking until he reached a massive bridge, Erebus looked at the bridge while trying to figure out if it was in good state, then looked up ahead of him to see where it was going and It seemed to reach the other side of this cliff.
''Well, that's not really convenient for me is it '' Erebus says with irritation in his voice but suddenly just remembered that he could use his powers but that wouldn't be safe to do, after all he didn't know where he was and who was here, it wouldn't be good to attract unwanted attention.
'I had my powers ever since i was born after all. But Now that I think about it, the twins did mention something about powers... I think it was called the sealed verses and that they were able to use it, however they also said about how those powers were made to resemble mines and other people' he thought while stepping on the bridge.
The bridge was shaking a bit but he kept walking while being careful, he could see the river below him which made him feel slightly anxious. Erebus looked around him to observe his surroundings, It was peaceful and quiet, which was surprisingly enjoyable. Once Erebus reached the end of the bridge he kept walking down the cliff, He took notice of the many birds and boar's and even some wolfs, it was a shiny day after all. He kept walking and passing trees for hours then he decided to rest next to the waterfall near a cave, Erebus made his way to the river and got on his knees and took some water.
While he was helping himself he saw his reflection on the surface of the water, he had white hair that came dow to his chin also had grey eyes and had a black blindfold covering his left eye.'How come I never noticed that I had a blindfold on one of my eyes'. Erebus thought while looking to himself, he didn't look old in fact he looked quite young now that he took a good at his face.
After all this time he still haven't aged in a bit, he had stopped aging a long time ago, Erebus suddenly remember another piece of his past it was a image of him fighting in a war. He has spends most of his life fighting and killing, however that didn't make him feel really sad about it in fact he felt kind good it was a hard to describe but he knows that he did took some form of pleasure killing those who dared raise their blades against him.
It was a life were the strongest survived and the weak dies, Erebus suddenly remembered the face of someone but before he could recall more of his past there was a strange noise coming from somewhere near, He quickly got up on his feet while taking his sword besides him and went to hide in the cave. He kept his left hand on the hilt of his sword and the right hand on the scabbard, the noises kept coming close, he tried to focus on the sound coming close and it was not something but...someone.
''Protect the king's castle from intruders !'' The unknown voice said while coming close to the entrance of the cave, Erebus then took his sword out and pointed it at the person but noise kept coming closer until he could clearly see who it was but to his surprise it wasn't someone but it was something. 'it looks like a machine well at weird machine' he thought while taking a good look at its physical form, it had a big round head with 2 red round eyes and it had a grey body. They looked at each other's for some time and the machine took a couple steps towards him and Erebus entered his stance preparing for an attack. ''Kill androids, protect the king!'' It shouted before jumping at Erebus while trying to punch him but Erebus saw right through him and stepped to the side and brought his sword up and and sliced it's arm.
The machine fell down then got up and turned towards him ''Die androids!'' he shouted before he charged at him again but Erebus was not amused in fact he was angry.'how dare you' Erebus angrily thought while producing red lightening around his body and pointed his hand at the machine.
''Disappear'' Erebus says with a cold voice before unleashing his lightning towards machine, hitting him at full speed. The machine took the electricity and was sent flying back to a wall and crashed through, once the smoke cleared up Erebus walked towards it to see if the machine had survived which he really doubted and his suspicion were put to rest when he saw his body wasn't moving anymore one of his eyes was missing and the other was still red before shutting down. 'What a weak machine.' he though while sparing once last glance before deciding to make his way back to the cave and to rest for now.
Some hours later
Erebus opened his eyes and looked around the cave as he stretched his body. ''How many hours did I slept'' he mumbled while rubbing his eyes, He looked behind him and grabbed his sword and made his way out of the cave. It was still shining outside surprisingly 'shouldn't it should be night time by now?' He thought while walking ahead of him, He could hear the birds singing and for some reason he took joy In that, how many ages was it been since he had last walked while enjoying the greenery.
He could hear other animals going on about their days, He then stopped when he remembered the event from a few hours ago. The encounter with that machine 'just were did that machine came from and why did it attack me,it said something protecting a king, just who was this king and is this forest his territory. That machine also talked about killing androids could it be that he was talking about the twins androids. Why was that machine after them?' He thought while remembering the twins.
'Speaking of those twins, i haven't met another single person since I got out of that room, which is weird. I really need to find them as fast as possible, only them can give me an explanation on what is really going here' Erebus thought while walking and taking a good look at his surroundings until he heard footsteps from his left. He quickly flew to a tree to hide and waited some minutes before he saw a group of...people ?
There was two women 'but something not right, they look humans but I can't sense them like any other humans.' He thought while taking a good look at them, there was only these two women but they looked kind of strange. He has never seen people like them before but what's even more strange is that one of them had a black blindfold covering both of her eyes while wearing black clothes, and had a something that flew besides her.
It looked like a weird square creature or something else, The other women was wearing dark brown and black clothes with a cape and they also had blades behind both of their backs, Erebus tried taking a good look at their features and he could see one had red hair and the last one with the blindfold had white hair just like him.
Erebus saw that they were coming close to his direction, he could see it however he wondered if he should stay hidden or confront them after all they were the first people he has seen since he awoken from that slumber. He didn't know how strong they were and that didn't put him at ease after all he couldn't sense a thing from them, it almost seems as if they were ghost.
After some thoughts he decided to sneak up on them to see what was their motives. There was a chance that they were here to hunt him or maybe they were here take revenge on what he did to that machine. It wouldn't be a surprise if they had come all this way to find out who was behind that loud explosion. He kind of hoped they would fight him, it's been so longer since he had a proper fight and he as in no mood to talk things out. Erebus smirked to himself and jumped from trees while making his way ahead of the group of women, he was going to wait for them near the waterfall.
21H was tired of walking in this forest without an actual real quest and she was sure that her friend also was, command told them to scout the forest to collect data on several artefacts created by aliens when they first came to earth. She didn't know why command told them to look for those damn things they were elite soldiers not some damn scanners.
She shook her head trying to keep a cooler temper, it wouldn't look good on her if she started throwing tantrums. She was the captain of her squad after and that meant keeping your emotions in check, the commander kept telling Yorha soldiers that emotion are forbidden but how were they supposed to keep doing that in this forsaken war. Many of them died and not only yorha soldiers but also other androids such was the resistance camp and many others, they were told that they must keep fighting for the glory of mankind, the humans were waiting for this war to be over so that they can finally return to earth.
The humans, the gods that created them, 21H remembered many androids used to dream about meeting an actual human after all who wouldn't be. It was the dream of every androids including hers that have lived, she recalled conversations she had with others androids about human.
The androids wished they could talk to humans, serve and live among humans and some other fantasies that most androids shared. She also remembered many androids who died without having meeting a humans, she had friends who worked for the resistance camp tell her about how they were sad that they were probably going to die without having seeing a real humans.
To her it seemed that the humans abandoned them, they haven't shown any sign of them being alive. No matter how much of them cry or die, the humans still won't help them. What have they ever done to deserve this fate, 21H wondered if the humans hated them maybe that's why they let them getting butchered by the machine. She was tired of this war, she just wish that the humans would listen to they calls for help, she kept having those thought until she felt a hand of the shoulder.
''21H...? 21H!! Are you with me or what ?'' Amelia said while placing a hand on her friend shoulder. 21H jumped a little bit before turned her to to Amelia, she was on of her people that she considered as a close friend and one of the very few that was still alive.
''Oh yes sorry, I was just thinking about stuff. Is something wrong ?''21H said while looking at Amelia with a small smile.
''Eh Yes, I said did you see that thing that passed the trees ahead of us...Are you sure that you're alright 21H ? You've not really been yourself since we left the camp.'' Amelia said with a worried expression on her face.
''No I didn't see it, look I assure you that I'm fine Amelia, it's just that the work lately has been intense these days and I barely got time to rest. After all the machines has been very active lately so commander told us to keep and eye out and to report whatever seems suspicious.''21H said with a tired sigh.
''Well yeah it's true that you yorha soldiers have been running up and down quite a lot these months. You should rest you know because it's not good to keep working so hard to you barely have time to rest. Just watch out and keep your guard up, I've got a bad feeling about this'' Amelia said concerned for her friend.
''Yeah i will and thanks for worrying about me''21H said with a smile.
Amelia nodded while smiling, she has known 21H for quite a while now. Years before when she first joined the resistance camp, she was timid and didn't speak to anyone. The other androids thought that there was something wrong with her and didn't bother to come and talk to her except if it was something urgent.
Amelia didn't mind it but even though the people at the resistance camp were decent to her, she still could hear some remarks about her and her personality. It didn't hurt her that much but it was also not pleasant, there was a few people that would be willing to talk to her and get to know her like 21H. Amelia remembered when 21H was first deployed on earth to help the resistance camp, she was with other yorha soldiers.
Out of all the soldiers she was the first to come and talk to her like a normal person at first she didn't want to open up to anyone but after some more visits she eventually decided to trust 21H and after some time the two of them became close friends.
Amelia could tell if something was bothering her and she wanted to know what was the cause of her worries so that she could help her friend. But she thought that maybe 21H needed some space, having all this stress can be quite difficult to deal with and what she needed was some time alone to sort out her thoughts. They kept walking towards a waterfall in silence while enjoying the surroundings.
!Outdated: welp that's my first trying to actually write something. Not that I didn't try writing anything before but y'know i was ehh lazy? Yeah that must be it...I think ? But seriously I've had this project that I wanted to do for so long but didn't know how to put it in place. As some of you can see English isn't my main language so yeah. I'm open to criticism because I'm actually trying to improve as a writer so don't hesitate, until then cya next time losers !
