The dull blade scratched against the surface, blood poured onto the earth; staining what mother nature worked hard to create. Dark hair glued to his forehead, shakily standing the same weapon dug into the ground. Beads of sweat left his chin, the droplets entering the pool of blood. The air was stagnant, the life around him disappearing. Who would've thought, this was where he'd take his last stand. Bandits were one thing, but the Grimm that lurked around was another. His chances of survival were slim if none.
Lips parting, a wave of exhaustion ran over him. His sense of sound adapted to the surroundings, the screeching pitch of a nevermore blew all the other noises out of the park. His men, most of them were dead. Gone. That didn't mean he should give up, survival was all about keeping a positive outlook. "AHHH!" If he wanted to make an impact a change, he would need to push his body beyond its capabilities. One of the bandits was watching the nevermore hover around, his lack of surroundings made him an easy target; the dull blade swung through the wind, hands tightened around the hilt, and with that swing along they were decapitated. Blood squirted into the air, the liquid hit his cheek as the body fell. "Don't flatter! Even when the odds are against us, we WILL PREVAIL!" His roaring voice attempted to reach anyone on his side.
Turning around, he was put on the ground the weight of an Ursa crushed his body. A gunshot blew out one of his eardrums, but the suffocating weight was lifted. The white armor he wore was gravely destroyed, but it was the only thing keeping him alive. Not finding the time to thank his savior, he attempted to stand. The weight on his right leg gave out, immediately. The weight and impact from the Ursa had some effect, using his trusty blade he stood once more.
Smoke filled the skies, blood littered the area. Human remain's scattered across the earth, this was the true definition of a battlefield. A war. Recollection of his squad flashed in his head, a weak gasp buzzed from his body; a sharp pain arose from his back, being stabbed wasn't a good feeling, nor was it something he could forget. Crimson metallic liquid streamed from his mouth. The light in his eye's fading. He knew what the outcome was from the start, and as the nevermore blocked out the sun; all he could do was smile. He wasn't strong, he wasn't a huntsman. No, he was a part of the military. The Atlesian military. An evergrowing organization that fought for humanity, feathers rained downwards. Humanity would always evolve, sooner or later the Atlesian military will create a faction like Beacon. Humans that could drive out all evil. Even in death, he would be watching from heaven...waiting for the downfall of Grimm kind.
The ends of the nevermore's feather pierced through the armor like butter, the dead body would rot there forever. No one would remember them besides the people he left behind, as was life.
The training bot threw a mean right hook, the simple strike enough to knock the trainee down. "Get up, and try again." The usual booming voice was now tired, the trainees were getting worse and worse with each passing generation. They were soft, fragile, dare he say weak-minded. The Special Operatives Unit was slowly dying, no one was willing to join; humanity's faith in the army was finally dying, it was something he saw coming despite how much it irked him. The name James Ironwood would live on in the files, once a hero always a hero. No matter how much he salvaged the damage the council caused, they refrained from allowing him another organization in the ranks. Ozpin once told him that in order to achieve greatness one must be prepared for everything.
Ironwood enjoyed thinking of the future, far into the future. Making necessary arrangements for the future was pivotal, he needed something that could keep tabs on the council and handle other kinda task that the police nor the Special Operatives could take; a group that could make a change. His ideas were promising, the key component was who he could trust; but even that word was loose, he needed capable. The Schnee girl that would graduate soon would suffice granted he took the proper steps to ensure her safety, then there were the other members. Opening his scroll, he clicked on files he had passcodes. Assuming he could gather experienced hunters and huntresses, he knew they wouldn't do it for free; it was the harsh truth. His best bet was people that had been out of any academy for two years, they had to have some sort of record or noticeably award; most of all, they should be able to hold their own.
This decreased the number of hunters and huntresses significantly, then came the issue of payment. So, he went along and added those who needed some sort of support whether it was income or status; as shameless as it was, he was willing to promise to care for a dying elder. Another quality he was searching for, was a lack of family. If something was to happen, and he needed them to disappear he wanted to make sure they could without a trace; without anything to look back on. The qualifications were absurd and abysmal.
Closing the files, and placing his scroll on his waist; James Ironwood dismissed all the future soldiers, "Personality wouldn't matter, they just needed to be skilled enough to execute the task handed to them." Thinking out loud, the grown man inhaled. Humanities future would rely on these few, they would be assigned things humans were afraid of, Grimm that solely existed as a mere thought. It would be best, to test them beforehand; so they could make rank for themselves. Back when he was a recruit, his commanding officer had them fight to find out who'd lead. The somber memory left a pained smile on his lips.
He wasn't looking for ordinary, he wanted change in the world. Humans were becoming more repulsive than, the monsters everyone vowed to repel. In the end, who would you trust to have your back than the people you served with. James has seen it all. Childhood friends that enlist together, how one betrays the other; in the end who else would care for your safety besides yourself? "Will this mission of mine backfire and end me, or will...it bring a new light to the world?" Aimlessly speaking, the refined warrior threw his head back. Without risk what reward was there, putting his trust in strangers was as low as he could get.
Ozpin was busy attempting to find a solution when he had one; pulling the wool over that old man, was impossible; luckily he didn't have to. Silver boots splashed in a puddle of vomit, the chunks of bile and clear substance reflected the bags under his eyes. It was always messy when the new recruits began training, the human body had to be conditioned and training like a pet; only if Grimm could be trained. "SOMEONE COME CLEAN THIS MESS!" Hearing himself bounce off the walls, he shook the substance off before continuing his day.
I am back, been gone. Lots of things to deal with, done. New computer, yes. Lost a LOT of files, yes. With that being said, I am not forgetting my other stories I plan on finishing them all! I had a schedule to start, I am going to try to get back into the mix; with that said this is an introduction to get some characters! The next chapter will be more worldbuilding among introduction. The form below, if you want to kindly be apart fill it out and send it to me via pm; if it is easier on you message me and I will send it to you!
This story will be rated M, like all my others due to gore, explicit scenes, and mature themes! I am only taking a certain amount of characters, and only the best of the best. I am thinking six maybe seven.
To give some insight, this story is set a bit before all the events take place. Winter is graduating soon, which puts all of the core characters from the main storyline a lot younger. Summer may be alive still, which leaves the door open for a lot of things. Without spoiling too much, I will let you view the form and bear in mind...it's a lot.
p.s. Closure will be getting another chapter real soon.

Special Skill(s)/ Semblance: (For example, a Faunus has Night Vision (skill), Pyrrha controls Polarity(semblance), etc. Also, try to be more specific if you're going to do energy-related Semblances. Having a simple energy shield as the Semblance is a little boring, so try to be more specific; honestly, explain as best as you can what the semblance can do.)
Fighting Style: (Goes together nicely with the weapon and Semblance. Describe how your character fights, what are their habits. What are their strengths and weaknesses? Do they fight at a distance? Or are they up close/rushdown monsters? Also, try to avoid putting in real-world martial arts (optional). You can say it's similar to real-world martial arts, that's fine, but don't just simply put Kung Fu or Karate and then call it a day, because remember, Kung Fu and Karate technically do not exist in the fictional world of Remnant. Those styles probably have a different name, different origin, etc. If you want to make your own style up, go ahead just go into detail about what type of moves or motions it has!)
Award(s)/Feat(s): (during or after the academy, did they win a tournament? Fend off a horde of Grimm? Wipe out some Grimm bounty? Etc.)
HISTORY/BACKSTORY: (Now we get to the good part. This is one of the most important parts of your character. Talk about the character's brief history, where they're from, their childhood, their goals, etc. Ultimately there is no one set formula to go about this. This is a critical part that helps me understand your character more and get into the flow of things. (Must be at least 100-? words / 1 paragraph or whenever you want to stop))
Small piece: (A small section of your own writing about your character or how they interact! Up to you!)
Send to this me via pm, please do not do it as a review. Any questions/ideas for the form. pm me!
