Not that important but still important Author Note: I hate what I wrote that time. It's cringy and has a lot of repeating parts of other fics. I will delete that after I finish this. Also, this is a rewrite, but it'll have many different parts that it might look like I'm just keeping the horrible title Human to Cat Warrior. Of course, my OC's looks and personality will change (why did you make a Starkit, WHY), and the storyline might too.
Disclaimer: I do not own Warriors. If I did, Blossomfall and Thornclaw would never be mates.
I opened my eyes to a sunny clearing and winced. What? I… thought I died. There were trees near me, and I was very much alive. I breathed in the fresh air. I think I almost forgot what it is like to be outside. Is this what the afterlife looks like? I was confused. I could just remember lying on the clean white bed with the scent of medicine? Well, something like that prickling my nose. I… I could remember dying. But why was I in a forest?
I'm awfully short too… well, I haven't been outside for a long time. Maybe this is normal? I thought. The trees seemed bigger and taller. Then, a moment later, I winced, looking down. I'm… I'm not a human. I'm… something with paws. If this what reincarnation is? I had never believed in those myths, but I was sure I had died. And even if I hadn't, this was too real to be a dream, and I surely wouldn't be dreaming of an unknown forest, let alone be in an unknown forest. As the rays of the sun reached me, I felt warm and… well, happy. I was energized, and I was healthy. Paw or no paw, I've gotta enjoy this while I can. I've never felt so light and free! I jumped up and landed smoothly with all four paws on the ground.
"Hello? Anyone there?" I called out. Nobody answered. "Well, I guess I'm alone. I'll have to find a stream." I began walking in a direction. I didn't know how to navigate the forest, but there was nothing I could really do. Well, I guess I can hope there wouldn't be a predator of whatever animal I am.
Miraculously, there was a small pond of water where I went. I excitedly ran towards the pond. I studied my reflection. I was a cat. A calico with hazel eyes. I thought about the book series I loved to read. Warriors. It was a book about cats. Well, cats who have cute fights and prophecies, actually, and very complex law that is probably going to change in the next book. I took a sip and noticed how thirsty I was. I'm not sure if this water is clean, but I don't really have a choice.
Just then, I noticed a bristle in a bush. I froze. "Who's there?" I hissed. I unsheathed my claws (I still don't know how I did that so quickly when I had zero experience).
"That's what I should be asking you. Oh, oh! I can't believe I found a stranger on the territory! I'll probably be made into an apprentice now, right Molekit?" A small ginger cat squeaked. Wait. Molekit? Apprentice? There was a brown and cream kit next to her.
"I don't know who you guys are, but shouldn't you be at the nursery? You can't leave camp until you are apprentices. Can't you?" I looked at the two. They cocked their head.
"I thought you were a loner… How do you know that?" Molekit asked. Oh. It's Cherryfall and Molewhisker… just younger. How… how did I come here?
"Oh, um… I've heard about the Clans. I come from a tribe, far away from here. No, not the tribe in the mountains." I hastily made a background for myself. Are you dumb? How can you make a whole different tribe? Of course, they'll notice I'm lying. "And the healer received a dream saying a calico will be a danger to the tribe, so I got kicked out. I've got nowhere else to go…" I couldn't believe the kits believed my poor lies. Okay so, my background is that I'm a tribe cat who knows the Clans who got kicked out from my leader. Got it. Absolutely crazy, but got it.
"Oh no! Do you want to come with us to camp?" Cherrykit's eyes were filled with concern. I nodded. The kits started guiding me in a certain direction. Wow. I can't believe that worked, I thought.
"What's your name?" Molekit's eyes gleamed. I hesitated, thinking of a good fake name, but decided my real name was good enough.
"I'm Fawn," I replied.
"How old are you?" Molekit asked. I tried to estimate how old I was. Probably young. Very young actually.
"I'm about six and a half moon old." I meowed. Even if that's not true, I can make it true, I thought. I was the size of an average cat, but it looked like I was just born small. I looked like a cat that was about that age to me. (I am sorry if this sounds like a stupid dog barking. I really don't know how to write these parts.)
"Cherrykit! Molekit!" A pretty dappled she-cat yowled. I noticed the air was filled with unusual scents, which I suspected to be from the many cats living here.
"Poppyfrost! We found a cat!" Cherrykit yelped. She jumped up and down. Poppyfrost ran towards her and finally noticed me.
"Who are you? Cherrykit, Molekit, you shouldn't have brought a strange cat into our camp!"
"I… want to join the Clan. It's Poppyfrost, right? You're the mother of these kits that brought me here." There was so much murmuring in the camp that I could barely hear myself.
"Silence, every cat! What is happening?" Soon, a ginger cat with green eyes came up from a tall place. Must be Firestar. He jumped down and went to me. He narrowed his eyes and seemed to be studying me thoroughly.
When the camp was silent, I bowed down. "Firestar. I have heard of you. The great leader of ThunderClan. I wish to join this Clan." I hope he doesn't ask where I came from. I don't know how to survive in the wild, I need to join ThunderClan. "I came from a faraway tribe, no, not the Tribe of Rushing Water. Our healer had received a prophecy saying a calico would bring danger to the tribe. I got kicked out at such a young age before our tribe allows us to train, and I don't know what to do." Ugh... why does this sound more like a character book than an introduction...
"I'm not very sure how our warriors will accept you." Firestar meowed doubtfully. I stood up straight and looked directly at his green eyes, hoping I didn't look nervous.
"I wish for some time to prove I can live up to this life, and if you accept me, may I join the Clans?" Oh, why did you say that, Fawn? You're not a cat. I regretted my words. I had never received training. Well duh. The only things I knew were pointless human stuff like math.
"Well then. I will allow what you requested. This is a different story, but I had once been a kittypet, but the leader back then kindly allowed me to join ThunderClan, and it changed my life. I am not sure if you'll be fit for the wild, but the least I can do is give you a chance." I knelt to the ground again, to the ginger cat's words.
"Thank you very much, Firestar." I could see that some cats in the clearing were annoyed but I ignored them. I'm not sure how I'll do in this… test of some kind, but this was my dream, being in this world!
Okay, this is 180 degrees different from the original fic. But I'll keep what's her name's powers and a little of her personality.
TMI1: There is a chance that this will get abandoned. Actually, 50/50. The original didn't really draw attention (not that any of my fics really do), and this probably isn't going to either.
TMI2: I have written this while my neck couldn't turn left because I slept wrong (ouch).
TMI3: I thankfully have the book with me.
If there is any criticism for anything, please review! Flames are allowed but please don't leave a review saying that my fic is wrong or anything. What I love about fanfiction is that you can twist a story the way you want it to, and I would like my opinion get respected. Also, if there are any suggestions, please leave a review.
I didn't really plan much for the setting where Fawn is sick, and I have zero medical knowledge.
(this is obvious but just in case you get confused, Fawn is a fake name and isn't me, the author's real name.)
