Alright not a complete change of pov, but I think this is more fitting.
I charge toward Iida and attack with my batons. Bakugoe growled "Get outa here extra! I can't fight with you in the way"
He hesitates clearly debating inside himself. "Aren't you a hero?" I say as I threw a baton that Baku has zero chance to defend against as his vision is still compromised. "He clearly blind and you wanna leave?!"
Baku takes a second to recover from my impact, "damn it! get the fuck out of here!"
I half-heartedly run toward Baku, but as I hoped four-eyes intervened and I combine the one rod in my hand with one from my leg, and the one I threw before from the ground as it landed between him and me.
Ilda is determined to protect Bakugoe even as he curses at him. I need to weaken his legs as much as possible before Bakugoe recovers his sight.
I hold my staff on the edge to generate as much force as possible and while it is telegraphed he's forced to block it if he doesn't want Bakugoe getting harmed. Of course, he would be able to dodge even in his dazed state, but Iida doesn't know that. I learned the hard way that he can dodge larger things simply from the slightest movement and the rough position of his assailant, but it is rather an instinct than skill and one that can be exploited, just like with the fire extinguishers.
A loud clang bounces in the building as I hit his leg with full force and while normally in the night I would go for the knee but this is just training. The strike dented his armor heavily momentarily stunning him.
Feeling the vibrations in my hands I take the moment to follow up with I upward strike as I twist my staff and hits his chin as I reverse the twisting and rotate it with my body as I strike downward.
His stance lowers as my last strike hits and I realize a textbook high kick is incoming. The force is powerful enough to stagger me as I step back despite blocking it.
Damn quirked advantage. I take the final piece of my staff and a smile spread on my face. While true he has an advantage with his quirk he has a weakness as well. I learned one when he had to do the repeated sidesteps on the fitness test.
After using my quirk on myself I need a minute to calm my stomach. I sit down with my back to a wall. Letting my mind run as I relax.
Confronting and antisocial? Why did I say that? I'll apologize to him after class. Still, he didn't have to be so cold. He's right I have only known him for two days if I count the exam day. But I will confidently say he's unlike any other student.
He seems like a delinquent with his demeanor and his dirty mouth and he's sleeping every chance he gets no matter how small. My father would call him a slacker but he's so diligent during class... In short, he's weird but pleasantly so.
I smile a little when I think back on the end of the exam when he carried me bridal style, but I sour as I recall how it ended. Honestly, I hope we can be friends after I apologize, it would be another step for a country pumpkin like me.
I think I'm doing good in the class as a whole, but it's clear that there are already forming smaller groups in the class. Anyway, it's about time I go and help Izuku.
I hear the sound of fighting as metal hits metal and a few explosions could be heard and smelled. I head down the stairs and find the turning point where a former barricade was constructed.
"Just you wait Deku! When I can see again, you're so dead!"
I have a full view of a fight between Izuku and Iida. The angry one is only attacking when there's enough space between Izuku and Iida, but Izuku is doing a great job sticking to Iida.
I gather much of the destroyed barricade that's near me and I do as planned and throw smaller pieces after the angry one... I'll make sure to later learn the name of the angry one.
"What the fuck!"
He looked creepy with his costume plagued by white powder along with his face and his eyes so red. I can see them looking at me, but they aren't focused and dart a little here and there.
I quickly change to larger pieces as he explodes them up. While it's a good way to keep him occupied it's also serving as an environmental disadvantage for Iida as there are pieces here and there on the ground.
How Izuku came up with a plan like this in such a short time is amazing. Weirdly it's like they are dancing in the palm of his hand, perhaps that has something to do with his quirk.
"What are you doing here?! You should guard the bomb further up."
Izuku yells angrily as he dodges a powerful kick. If it wasn't a part of the plan for me to help out I would have honestly believed his anger.
"Deku and your annoying plans! I won't let you dictate this match anymore."
The angry one points one of his gauntlets at me, "What are you gonna do about it?" Izuku challenges him as he continues his relentless onslaught that keeps wearing down Iida.
"These gauntlets aren't for show, they have been gathering and storeing excess sweat. So girly better dodge."
The shocked look on Izukus face as he shouts "Run the hell up!"
I do so immediately and what followed was an explosion like no other. The ringing in my ears was so loud I begin to lose my balance as I fell to my knees. Getting my focus back I see just how destructive that explosion was. The stair was no more as it completely fell apart along with the wall behind it. Anything that survived was charred black.
"Fucking shit..." was all I could mutter and by the looks of Bakugoe he didn't expect such a devastating attack either.
"Are you trying to kill her!" I shouted after regaining my composure.
"She's fine, but fucking hell..." Bakugoe was admiring his broken gauntlet.
The explosion removed all the powder from him and he was left with bloodshot eyes as he locked eyes with me... Shit! He can see me properly.
"Iida seems like our fight is over."
"Get after round face! This bastard is mine."
I see Iida begrudgingly leaving, "we need to talk about your behavior Bakugoe and Midoriya I would like some guidance and insight later." He bowed quickly and left up the stairs.
I place a hand upon my ear, "the plan is still on track." I could have said it so the others wouldn't hear, but it would help and as an added bonus irritate Kacchan.
"What's the score?" He asked as he dropped his gauntlets.
I lift an eyebrow in question, "All Might warned me not to use them in this exercise."
"Just get them smaller or keep the size and have multiple minor containers inbuilt, would allow for rapid usage."
"I don't need your shitty opinions!"
I shrugged my shoulders, "Since we started keeping score it's 31 to 12, in your favor."
"Damn cheat, it's 31 to 11!" He charges at me with explosions.
"No, it's about to be 31 to 12," I said as I pulled a mask that had been dangling tightly to my collarbone as I brace myself with my staff pointing it at him.
He was forced to adjust himself and changed direction in an instant as multiple minor explosions located him to my side. I tank his explosive attack and struck him at the side of his head with my staff.
"Must get hard with all those head traumas?" While the mask served to lessen the impact of explosions and the impurities that comes with it. But it also allowed me to bluff as he couldn't see my gritting face.
"I'll still murder you!" Honestly, it's impossible for me to know if I'm having the intended effect. If I want to have a better chance to win I'll need to infuriate him even more.
I take the lead to an assault and while he's dodging it's sluggish. I manage to press him enough for him to create space with a big explosion that knocked both of us back.
"Heh imagine the great Kacchan retreating like a dog. I thought you were gonna be the nr. 1?"
"Still a hell of a lot closer than you ever will be!" His stance lovers as his eyes focus even more than before. An unseen smile appears under my mask, he's actually taunting back?
I shrug my shoulders, "It's not like I ever had such an illusion." I take the lead one more time, but the desperation is now on my side. I try to force him on the defensive, but as the exchange continues I found myself blocking more and more explosions.
While his costume is intact his arms are wearing multiple blue and purple marks. My costume is in much worse condition as it was burnt here and there while I'm slightly singed on the exposed skin.
I disengage which he allows, "Even with your shitty tricks you won't beat me!" His features carry a victorious smirk which is only enhanced as All Might calls out Urarakas capture.
"Would you quit your ugly face, I still have time on my side." I snarled, but I felt weirdly good about his words.
"We still have 4..." An annoyed frown showed, "Another damn barricade, still there's only 5 floors in total, it's my win DEKU!" This time he's the persuing.
Dodged explosions here and a tanked explosion there as I counter. I adopt a very defensive fighting style as I keep my feets moving. "Ha, he's through with 3 min to spare."
The 3. barricade on the stair was between 3. floors to 4. So he had 1 and a half min to search each floor which should be more than enough time for one with a speed quirk even if he's not in top condition.
With renewed vigor, I attack using the reach of my staff to my advantage to get weak but free hits in. While I never fought with my all as it would only increase the chance of failure during this exercise. I decided it was time just to see where I stood with a weakened Kacchan. I know if he had been in as good of a condition as I was I wouldn't have had a chance to win, perhaps delaying but not winning.
"Just die!" I wasn't the only one who brought out the reserves. It was weird, he fought just as desperately as I. I did it to keep up the unspoken lie, but he had no reason... Then it hit me as I actually got hit with a blast and flew to the ground.
He needs to beat me. He will see this as a loss if he doesn't beat me. I know now why he's been taunting back instead of cursing. It also explains why it felt good, he has gone down to my level and tried to manipulate me with taunts.
A hidden smirk was on my face and I knew taking the initiative to attack was the wrong choice as I should delay him, I couldn't help it.
His desperation was overpowered by uncertainty as the time drew closer and closer. His uncertainty vanished as anger filled his eyes and his attacks were even bigger and more in numbers. An unusually big one separated us.
"What did you fucking do?! There is no damn bomb in this shitty place."
With one minute left I took my mask off and a very nasty smile found its way. "It's my complete win."
One mighty blast was all it took for him to close the distance between us. But what followed wasn't like before. In our exchanges before I lost each and everyone even if only a little. This time I clearly had the upper hand. I finally managed to completely enrage him and while he's strong he's also telegraphed.
I can make him blast himself with whacks on his backhand. I really did too much as an unexpected explosion that was rage-filled sent me through a nearby wall.
With adrenalin alone, I manage to get on my knees and I have a full view as he comes flying, but before I could muster a defense All Mights voice rings through. It's the first time in a very long time I've ever been relieved to hear his voice.
"Villain Team wins!"
hope y'all enjoyed it. I'm not very comfortable writing fights, but hopefully, it's readable. BTW can yall guess how and why Iida never found the bomb? It will be explained in the next ch but could be fun and allow me to know if I left good hints or not. Anyway, see ya.
