A door was slammed against the wall as it was thrown open.

"Those lazy sons of bitches! That bitch took my family! And I'm just supposed to sit here and wait!" Ethan Winters had spent the past three years working with the BSAA, had spent a little less than three years working with Chris Redfield's brutally efficient Hound Wolf Squad, to prevent this exact situation from happening. He thought he could keep his family safe, keep any other Bioweapons from hurting Mia, from getting to Rose, by killing them at the source.

He had been promised that this was the right thing to do, had convinced Mia it was the right thing for him to do.

He had thought he could stop anther Dulvey from happening to Mia or anyone else.

He had thought wrong.

No, he hadn't thought wrong. He had just started too far away.

He had been in Africa, him and the rest of Hound Wolf Squad working with Chris' old partner Sheva Alomar and Alpha Team, when the alert had reached him. It had reached him and he could only watch as some woman came inside of their home, pretended to be him.

He could only sit there on the plane back as Mia struggled, as his wife tried to fight off the woman that attacked her using his face. She only had enough time to use fire two of the RAMROD rounds he had managed to get for her but those two had surprised the bitch, had forced her to drop the disguise.

They had a face because of Mia, had a location because the bitch behind all of this had her monsters took Mia along with Rose.

More importantly:

He had a target.

The BSAA was saying it was impossible to mount a rescue operation, saying it would take weeks to prepare for an attack on what Hound Wolf Squad's years of relentless work had identified as the source of the Megamycete/Fungal root/whatever the fuck the BSAA wanted to call it. All that mattered was that the source of the Mold was the same location of the woman that had help cause the Baker's descent into insanity back in Dulvey. The same woman that helped the source of the program that had created Eveline, that had dragged Mia and him into this war against Bioweapons, had taken his wife, taken his daughter, to the heart of the problem.

BSAA command told him he couldn't go and save his wife, his daughter. That he had to leave his family in the hands of a woman they knew was fucking insane, that they had spent years learning more and more about. That he was just supposed to leave her with the woman no matter how insane they knew she really was.

He was supposed to leave them to Miranda because "they needed time", he was supposed to stay here because "intel was spotty".

The BSAA was telling him to sit on his hands, sit and do nothing while that woman could do anything to Mia, to Rose.

When he could lose his family, that his wife and daughter could be suffering every second he spent here.

"GOD DAMMIT!" He slammed his fist into the locker in front of him, felt like slamming his head into the locker next. "GOD FUCKING DAMMIT!"

The door was thrown open again, a familiar man coming through it. He had been following after Ethan after all, had been keeping an eye on him when they caught the first flight out of Africa and back to BSAA HQ.

"Ethan!" Chris Redfield grabbed him before he could keep moving, that he could keep punching the locker in front of him in his rage. "Calm the fuck down!"

"She took my wife Chris! She took my daughter!" Ethan still struggled against the man but those struggles were dying as quick as they had arrived. At a point, he could only hold on to Chris to keep himself up. "She took them…"

"I know." Chris did his best to comfort the man, didn't truly know what to do.

He had lost men before, had seen the complete devastation of his unit, but not something like this.

This was something deeply personal.

This was a man's family being involved.

He had seen what it could do, had seen the lengths a man he had once trusted with his life had gone to trying to protect his own, had seen it make him betray his brother and sisters in arms all in a bid to keep them safe.

"…She took them and I wasn't there…I wasn't there Chris…" There wasn't anything he could do, anything but watch as those monsters took them both. "…I was supposed to stop this…That's why I'm here dammit!"

"And we'll get them back." Chris helped the man stay on his feet, helped him through this. "To hell with what the BSAA says. They went after your family. We're going after them."
